Wonderful stay and close to the Virginia Horse Center—calm and serene and the landscape was just lovely! Thank you—we will be back for sure!

The breakfast was the best part of the stay in my opinion. Farm fresh eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits…delicious! This is a rustic barn, so don’t expect things to be brand new. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, Justin was easy to communicate with and very hospitable. We loved staying here and will be back!

We had an amazing time! The cottage was clean, extremely stocked with lots of extras which was so nice. The views are incredible. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. They are close if you need anything but the house is very private. The adults, kid and dogs loved it! Hope to come back again!

The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful—exactly what we were looking for in a quiet weekend away. We enjoyed the grill and firepit, which were excellent for unwinding in the evenings. Restaurants and a grocery store were just a short drive away, making it easy to get what we needed. The house is old and has a lot of character, but it’s definitely not a luxury stay—more of a rustic, simple farmhouse. Still, it was clean, functional, and comfortable for our needs. The kitchen was well-stocked with essentials, and check-in was seamless. We truly appreciated the quiet and the space, and I’d come back for another peaceful break.

Bill‘s cottage is beautiful, immaculate, well decorated, well stocked and comfortable. It is located in the country on a very well maintained farm. Bucolic and serene describe the setting perfectly. This courage gave us the perfect place to re-connect our far-flung family, spending a few days and such a beautiful and peaceful setting was well worth the price.

What an outstanding experience. There were four of us and the drive to the house was beyond "Virginia quaint" and so beautiful. The Blue Ridge was viewable from many vantage points at the house. The bedrooms were large and beautifully furnished. Kitchen was huge with all the equipment and table settings you could ask for. The enclosed porch allowed us to revisit childhood with the animal neighbors that wandered through. The feel of the house when you walked in was, "welcome, kick your shoes off and stay a while". Our host was pro-active in reaching out to us. Gave us a great recommendation for pizza/pasta/fun nearby and she was all around great to work with. We already have plans for our next visit!

Such a beautiful and comfortable home away from home! We loved the convenience to Downtown Lexington, and the home could not have been more perfect! Comfortable, beautifully decorated, and all the extras made it so wonderful. We loved the screened in porch, fire pit, and the views across the street. The host is very responsive and friendly! Highly recommend!!

Absolutely loved this place. The house is beautiful, well kept and comfortable. The kitchen was the best! Easy cooking dinner for 4 every night. Loved sitting on the porch , front and back, watching and listening to the birds and the sounds of Hays Creek rolling by. Very much enjoyed long walks along the gravel roads in this area and the views of the grass covered hills and farm land.

Absolutely a pleasure staying at Brian & Michael’s stunning property! From the beautiful fresh flowers and luxurious linens to the delicious treats waiting for us, every detail was perfect. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town!

It was such a wonderful and peaceful stay at Wal-Lu farms! The view was absolutely amazing. We loved watching the cows, the deer that visited us every evening and the horse that kept us entertained from across the road! The house was beautifully decorated, cozy, and everything we had hoped for! We truly enjoyed our visit and can’t wait until our next stay! Thanks to Amanda for being a great host and having us as a guest!

Stayed in The Hay Loft with my husband and 3 small children (4,3&1) for 3 weeks while relocating to the area from Texas. We felt right at home and had everything we needed to live a mostly normal life during transition! The home and property are well thought out & are equipped with anything you need. Kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and dishes, plenteous toiletries in the bathroom, towels aplenty, and laundry essentials at your disposal. The host is very responsive, friendly, and helpful when anything out of the ordinary does come up. There can be some road noise at all hours, but it didn’t disrupt any of us ever. Perhaps if you’re a very light sleeper, it might. We would absolutely stay here again and will recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, homey stay in the Lexington area. Takes 5-15 minutes max to drive anywhere in town. And lastly, the sunsets really are beautiful with the hills and mountains on the horizon. Just splendid.

The setting of the property on the grounds of the winery was peaceful, serene, and quiet. The photos matched the actual property. We particularly enjoyed the live music that was played during our stay. Although we were overall pleased, I do have a suggestion. For the price we paid, there could have been a few more amenities offered. For example, there was only 3 K cups provided for a 2-night stay. Also, it would have been nice to have shampoo/conditioner provided, such as in hotels. One other suggestion would be to provide a bottle (or two) of wine within the property even if it is on an "honor" pay system. We have seen this before at other properties. I imagine the type of people renting this place would have no issue paying for such an option (even if on site). For the price, a bottle of wine would not be too much to be provided "on the house." Once again, these are just suggestions and we enjoyed our stay overall AND we would return.

I rented Heather's beautiful cottage when my son graduated from Washington and Lee Law School. It is right outside of town and sits on lovely acreage with mooing cows. The back porch is perfect for a luncheon and for relaxing. I catered my son's graduation lunch, and our family and friends were thrilled. The cottage is very private, and there are ample parking spaces. The cottage is sparkly clean, the beds are comfortable, and everything feels very new. It is decorated beautifully. It was much nicer and cheaper than renting separate hotel rooms, as we could gather and spend time together. Thank you, Heather, for a fabulous experience!!

We enjoyed our stay at Alex’s place. The property is private and there are lots of deer friends who visited in the evenings. The hot tub was great and easy to use.

Fantastic old farm house with great views of the Virginia countryside and mountains. Well stocked and very comfortable. Only gripe was the TV didn’t connect to the satellite but I honestly think that was me not being able to work the remote. Loved the wraparound porch and hearing the cows in the field say “hello.”

I had a wonderful stay at this property! The house was spotless and had all the essentials needed for a comfortable visit. The view was beautiful, and the calming atmosphere made it easy to relax. I especially loved the dirt road nearby — perfect for peaceful walks with my dog — and the fenced-in yards were a huge bonus for pet owners. Thanks also for showing me the extra walking spots around the barns and how to get to them from the property — it made our walks even better. And the pound cake was delicious! Such a thoughtful touch. Highly recommend this place.

we had planned a small family reunion in Raphine...nit a metropolis if you are familiar. I needed a place to do some cooking and for a few of us to sleep. tbis could not have worked out better. tge house is beautiful, room to cook and visit with family. Deer and groundhogs too!

This was a nice house with ample space for our family of 7 and a beautifulview of the mountains!! Well stocked kitchen and all the comforts of laundry, toiletries and basic cleaning supplies provided. The directions on walking paths seemed to contradict: one place said not to enter pastures and another that you were welcome to as long as gates were returned to original position. We opted not to bother and had plans for the days away from the house. Lovely house and would definitely stay again!!
