Jo and Nachi run an amazing homestay. The accommodation is very good value, clean and comfortable -with great views. But what makes it so special is their warmth and help in advising on things to do and organising trips etc. Jo also arranged a houseboat for us on the backwaters, transfers and Ayurvedic massages. The best part though is the breakfasts in their family kitchen - choice of typical Indian delicacies or western breakfast as you want. We always tried the local delicacies- 😋 Great experience all round!

Reviews are exceptionally positive for a reason — Joanna and Nachi offer much more than a clean, comfortable abode, they offer helpful tips, connections, advice, and warm hospitality. They helped us with transportation, houseboat, and getting a general sense of what life is like in Alleppey. Their assistance was especially appreciated since our time was limited and we didn’t have the luxury to putz around town for days to discover its secrets in our own time. We were extremely grateful to have stayed with them and have met. Cannot recommend more!

This was my first time in India and arriving alone. I wanted somewhere that I felt comfortable, where I could explore at my own pace and Joanna’s home was perfect. It’s on quiet beach, but also 10 mins tuk tuk from the backwaters. Joanna was a the perfect host, with recommendations over breakfast in her family kitchen. I had a lot of questions, and she was very patient and informative. Would definitely stay again.

Jo’s place was a lovely clean homely place. Very welcoming and Spotlessly clean. We particularly enjoyed the communal breakfast table where we met lots of interesting multi national guests and swopped lots of travel tips. Jo’s restaurant tips were excellent.

I had been a truly amazing experience with Joanna and Nachi right from the moment we did our bookings. They were really polite in their responses. We were there for 3 days and it is my most wonderful experience at any Airbnb so far. Location is gorgeous. Place is sparkling clean. And above all what sets this listing apart from every other one is the warm hospitality, helpfulness and family like feeling one gets here. If I find myself in Alleppey again, this is the place i m going to be at.

The photos really do not do this amazing place justice. The accommodation is stunning, the location is so beautiful and relaxing and the hosts Joanna and Nachi could not be more perfect. You are made to feel so very welcome and they both have so many helpful tips on places to visit and were so helpful in helping us with our onward travel to Varkala. Our only regret is we were unable to stay longer. Ten out of ten easily!!!!

Very warm, inviting and responsive hosts. Comfortable and clean room. The house is right up against the beach. Joanna gave us tips for getting a driver in the area, which was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay with them very much and would highly recommend them. Their good ratings are well deserved.

Wow, Priya is such a wonderful host. Her home stay is exceptionally clean. The breakfasts we had we fantastic proper home cooked Keralan food. We dined with Priya on one night & the food didn’t disappoint & was excellent value for money. She kindly arranged to get what drinks we wanted for the meal during the day. Tuk Tuks & houseboat cruises were organised for us without any hassle. Yes the home stay isn’t right in Aleppey but it’s only a £3 tuk tuk ride to the backwaters or Marari beach so don’t let the location put you off. Wonderful place

Situated a bit distant from the main town, it has a beach right next door which is completely devoid of tourists. The space is excellent, authentic space, friendly people, great food. Also, she helps plan local tourism. Highly recommended for a few days’ relaxation!

Priya is very kind and amazing host.Just upon arriving she greeted with smile and gave us lime juice.She made us very tasty meals.Her hospitality was outstanding and she was very helpful.Her home is very near the beach almost like a private beach.Her home was very clean with lot of stress,goose,dogs,chicken and pond and hammock was additional bonus.Just go for it blindly!You will be glad :)) Already missing that place and priya.

We had such a lovely time at Priya’s place! She is a very warm and friendly person, very passionate about helping people and creating the best experince. She cooked the most delicious breakfast and dinner for us and gave us great tips for exploring the local area. It’s serene beautiful place with lots of trees and pets, and the beach almost 200 meters from the house. Do try Priya’s home cooked meal, and take tips from her for visiting nearby places. Overall it would definitely be a memorable experience for the guests

We loved staying at Priya’s. She is a fantastic host and a great communicator. Priya served us delicious South Indian breakfast every morning. The room and the bathroom was very clean. If you like quite space to relax outside of town this is the ideal village homestay. Priya also put us in contact with Baiju from whom we were able to hire a scooter and a fantastic houseboat.

Colonel Antony was very helpful when we needed to change our reservation at the last minute, the staff were all extremely welcoming and kind, and you just can't beat the location right on the beach! Definitely a must-stay in Alleppey.

The location is the USP of this place. It's bang on the beach and you get to hear the waves crashing all the time. It's a quiet, tranquil place designed for both families, and couples looking for a quiet time away. The host, Col. Anthony is very friendly, and will give you tips and arrangment on local travel. Amenities are basic, but the location and the beach makes up for everything else here.

Lovely place..the rooms look directly over the beach and we were lucky enough to see dolphins one morning. It's on the edge of a fishing village, very relaxing friendly place. Staff are great, lovely homemade food, ayervedic treatments and massage can be arranged, as can boat trips. Do get them to arrange boats for you as we ended up having a misunderstanding doing it ourselves! Easy tuk tuk into Allepey, nothing else nearby. Very charming place, thank you Colonel.

Wonderful place if one needs to relax themselves and get away from the city hustle. Very calm and peaceful place. One can experience the tranquil of the beach from their room with the only sound of the waves hitting the shore. It is recommeded that the guests hire a moto as there is no other mode of public transport and autos may demand high surge during nights etc.

Colonel's Beach Villa is true to its name as it is just hugging the shore. The property is too beautiful and its a steal at this price. Col Anthony is a true gentleman and his hospitality is amazing. The view from the balcony is enriching and the staff is very cooperative. Would definitely book it again when i visit alleppey.

The place is warm and welcoming and much better than any pictures!

Those that want a retreat to unwind and have really deep conversations, those who love photography and those who want to reconnect to their inner-self etc. This is the place. You can do touristy stuff or just hang out on the landscape. Just about anything works. The most humble and entertaining host who personally supervises and a property caretaker ready to help everytime. Definitely worth the time and money. Almost anything can be arranged by the host. For tourists, a wholesome experience. For others, a calming and enriching experience.

We were blown away by this unexpected gem. The lullaby of the gentle lapping of the Arabian Sea sometimes and the drama of the waves crashing on the rock barrier at others. The exceptional pleasantness of the staff and extraordinary attention of the owner. The bed is comfy. We watched dolphins playing in the water 50 meters from our balcony. We spent 12 days here and we’re sad to move on.

Thomas's place is just as shared on Airbnb. The place is easy to access and is a two-minute walk from the beach and a host of restaurants and bars in the town. It's clean and basic, with running hot water and basics sorted and easy to find. The swings and hammocks on the terrace offer a nice view of the greenery around and make for nice lounging. Thomas is warm and friendly, available to chat anytime, and with suggestions on what to do around town and where to eat. Thanks for a great weekend!

A really top stay. Very close to beach, restaurant and bar, but in quiet street. Room perfect for me. Host Thomas was fantastic. My zip on suitcase broke just before I was due to leave and I 1 hour he arranged an auto rickshaw to take and return me from a street cobbler for a new fitted zip! Lots of good recommendations- which turned out to be the best choice and value. Highly recommend

Good stay if you want to see back waters. Ask him about the things you can do in the area and he will guide you very well.

The place of Mr Thomas is at walking distance from the beach. The hut/room is enough for two people with ample space on terrace. From the moment we arrived at his place , he helped us to plan our day/tour and booked a Shikara boat for exploring the backwaters. The also gave information regarding restaurants , nearby places to explore. Overall it was a good stay and experience.

Oscars cruise was great! Canoe trip was the perfect day experience to see the local side of the backwaters.

Its a whole day tour of backwaters in Kerala. In small boats, reaching quite interior locations. For a great insight into local life deep in the backwaters. Small villages ... etc.... nice food too.

It was one of the wonderful experience at oscar cruise. Canoeing is the best way to explore backwaters of alleppey and oscar cruise persons are perfect for that. Great hosts with great warmth and we enjoyed a lot. All was beyond expectations and very nice experience. I highly recomment them. Awesome hospitality and organisation.

The indication as a room is misleading, since it is a boat tour. The tour itself was great and we had a lot of fun both on the boat tour as well as the delicious food and all for a really fair price.

The experience is of 5 star so is the hospitality. However, the rice offered and side dishes was not of what I expected. Actually rice i did not liked it but it was something different then I ever had. so no complaints. Full day on a boat is worth the price. When you are in Alleppey you must experience oscar cruise once in your life time.

It's a canoe ride with breakfast and lunch at the village, and not a night stay. Worth every penny. One of the best ways to explore Kuttanad.

Great place. We decided to stay on this stationary house boat, since we wanted to have more flexibility. I would recommend this instead of a house boat trip, because the houseboats dont move and night anyway and you can start great trips from here. Jijo, the owner, organized everything for us and speaks english very good. Hot water worked without issues for us. Overall it was a great experience with even more great tours organized by Jijo

Jijo was very cooperative and helped us about local market and whereabouts. It was a pleasant stay aj Canoe Ville.

Canoe ville was a unique experience with a floating bedroom built on 2 canoes. The courtyard also opened up to houseboats docking so we could easily board a houseboat from there as well. Our stay was pleasant and there was alsoa hammock and swing and fishing available. Jijo was veryhelpful in finding local transportation, he set us up with a scooter one day and a special party auto (tuk tuk alpy) to kochi. The meals were also homemade and service was excellent. We highly recommend trying out the canoe vill experience

You would love staying here , jijo being an attentive host ! He would take utmost care in helping with your requests . The stay would be as per the description , but the only thing is you will have issues with the mobile network. There is no wifi, and jio will not work here . Bsnl works fine . So be prepared for this part . Other than that, the pricing , the location , privacy, stay is all good! They also have house boats , check them out too! Thanks !

Canoe Ville! This place... what can I write here that can capture our time here accurately! Jijo is an amazing host and ensured that my travel partner and I had a serene time. The experience of staying in a mini house boat of our own, with its amazing thoughtful touches was bliss-filled for us. The Canoe was a beautiful home away from home for us, in the midst of mother nature. Our morning kattan kaapi (black tea) while facing the sheer expanse of the Vembanad lake with a book, was surreal. Jijo ensured that we had our mini Kuttanadan experience, complete with scrumptious food his mom cooked and also while on a Shikkara ride with Rahul! So a big thanks to Jijo, Salam (who was at our beck and call for all our transport needs), Rahul and the sweet Cheta, who ensured that we enjoyed and quick and short break. My next stint there will be soon!

This place exceeds expectations and is more than a value for money. Jijo is one of the warmest hosts ever. We booked the canoe ville which is a one of a kind boat house on 2 canoes on a canal just 10 mtrs from the extensive stretch of backwaters. The ambience is beautiful. Also special mention for Rahul who made our Alleppey trip beautiful with the shikhara ride on the lovely backwaters. He knows beautiful places where you can enjoy authentic Kerala cuisine on banana leaf and small shacks by the backwaters where you can enjoy the local drink Toddy. And last but not the least, the tuktuk driver Abdul has been absolutely great. On the day of our arrival he took us to Jijo’s place(which might have been a little tricky to find) and the next day he took us to our next destination Kochi in his tuktuk through village roads while covering Marari beach and virgin places where the sea meets the backwaters. On the whole, me and my wife had an amazing trip and would love to come back soon.

We were here for one night as we were passing through Alleppey. We found the place quite comfortable (there's a hammock nearby) although since it is right on the water, you should make sure that you get yourself protection against mosquitoes. The view from the house is gorgeous and you hear a lot of calming sounds of nature. The complimentary breakfast was quite delicious and I strongly recommend having the curry with bread. Another thing to keep in mind is that the place itself is on an island and is accessible only by boat (this could be a plus based on your needs). The boat takes about 15 minutes to reach a mainland road and operates at a schedule so you may need to factor this when planning. Overall, I really liked the place. Anthony and his staff (Dennis and co) were really cordial and sweet. They were accommodative of some of our needs on checking out early and were easy to reach for questions.

We were so happy that we found Antony’s place to stay while being in the backwaters of Alleppey. The place location is extremely Nice and you have to go on the kayak-tour. We felt very Well accommodated by Antony and his Nice staff.

Anthony's place in Alleppey is amazing. It's located on the back waters of Alleppey. We had a self drive car, so we had some thoughts about the safety of the parking. We had to park the car near in fields and take a boat to the place. But all was well, no issues with parking. A boat arrived to take us to the stay. It was 5 min boat ride and once we reached we checked in immediately and had a nice water facing rooms on ground floor. The rooms had a nice little sit out area and the side facing the water has a nice transparent glass, so we have a clear view of the water and the house boats passing by,right from the bed. Food was good too, had a nice menu to order from and breakfast was decent too. They had nice two little doggies who were too cute and they would always be around us. Our 9 yr old boy was kept very busy by them. All three of them enjoyed each other's company. Be wary of the mosquitoes. Overall a wonderful place and must visit for a peaceful holiday

A great private experience right on the backwaters ( you have to take a boat to reach there ) and worth the money. There are a total of 6 rooms. Anthony was a good host, and had contacts with locals to arrange for canoeing, kayaking and other water trips. Riju, the caretaker was a great guide. Please note that the food and water trip services provided are charged a premium owing to the remote location. There are no other shops /restaurants on this island as well. This is a wonderful experience for those who are not budget conscious.

We stayed two nights at Antony's. The setting is beautiful and contrary to what we could imagine, the mosquitoes are not in the game. We ate both nights at Antony because you can not find anything else on the island. However the food was very good. The rooms are new, spacious and very clean.

Gijo’s place is beautiful. Him and the other staff are so helpful, arranging the back waters trip for us and arranging transport there and back. The place is clean and the beds are comfortable. You are right on the beach and can enjoy sitting in the hammocks listening to the sea or even have a swim. Would defo recommend

I stayed in December 2019 last week, everything in resort was well arranged to make you feel more relaxed. Location is just next to beach, this makes this resort different than others. Lots of place to chill out. Location is also close to city center. Hospitality Shown by resort Manager (Mr. Joseph ) was outstanding. Thanks

Me and my family of 9 including couple of kids stayed at Gijo's resort. It has various cottages and the best part as well is it has a private access to the beach. You can very well spent lot of time there. We have enjoyed a lot staying at the resort, especially the kids. The morning breakfast (complimentary) was very authentic and local Kerala stuff. We had access to the kitchen to make some stuff for the kids and our beverages. Definitely would say one of the best place to stay at Alleppey.

Gijo was very friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night, but also ate there - and very good. The accommodation is simple but sympathetic, and is right on the beach.

We had a lovely stay. We met our lovely host and amazing manager Joseph, they took a great care of us, fed us with amazing breakfast with a lot of fresh fruits, organised yoga with Jessy, which you must book too if you are staying at Coco. She is an excellent teacher, she challenged us in poses and explained carefully the benefits of each. Very good session with meditation and breathing techniques. The place has a big garden with coconuts which we enjoyed freshly cut in the morning. The sun sets just at the beach that they have a private entrance to. Highly recommended.

This place is absolutely fantastic! I expected a good place to stay for a couple of days but it seems that we have found a family. We experienced a warmth of the eastern welcome in its best form. Mr. Joseph Cyrus, the place administrator, became like an uncle to us, taking care and arranging everything we needed. Mama Laurence is like a grandpa, being caring and loving. These people are fantastic and we leave a piece of our hearts in this place. If you want a calm, beautiful, natural place and sincere people around, that's a perfect place of stay. Highly recommended!

I was a good stay in Alleppey. The house was clean and spacious. Hosts were really friendly and helping.

You will find a siple but very beautiful place, directly on the canal. Laying in the hammock you can watch the boats passing and having a Chai. The included breakfast and the dinner you order for a good price are simple but very good, cooked by an elderly couple living next door. Eaten on a table directly on the water you will enjoy the nice nightmood. Divja was a very fast answering host and also organized a beautiful canu trip in the early morning. Just ask for the prize. We liked it very much.

Nice time to be had here, right on the backwaters in a village island setting. Sunset and sunrise must be seen over the paddy fields to the music coming from the local temple. . Very atmospheric..Busy on the boats passing by but great to watch. My room was really nice and clean, with shower etc. Divya was great helping me with shopping and shes good company. Dogs there too, very friendly. Enjoyed my 2 days, good stopping off place for me to plan my onwards trip and experience local life. Happy smiley people, beautiful scenery. Thank you Divya

A dog lover’s paradise. Divya’s place is well off the beaten track, and this is its huge attraction. She made me feel very welcome, and we had some good conversation. With her 3 dogs I was made to feel part of the family. The neighbours too - an island community - are gracious people. Getting the public ferry, or one of the many canoes across from town, makes for a unique experience. A lush environment with wonderful views immediately on to the Backwaters.

Highly recommend staying here. Was a highlight of my trip for sure. Sadly, Divya was out of town for some work so I could not meet her but that didn't stop her from organizing everything for me (massage, canoe trip, travel tips and meals) I had some wonderful, simple meals at her home, provided by the caretakers. The homestay is located on the backwaters and is set up with two hammocks right on the water. Great for reading and observing the scenes. The canoe trip organized by Divya was extremely nice and enjoyable. Highly recommend it. Her three dogs are extremely cute and very friendly. Thank you again!

Good basic room in a beautiful location directly on the backwaters. Divya also planned for us a canoe tour early in the morning that we really enjoyed. Her three beautiful dogs are a plus for sure!

Divya’s place is lovely. We decided to stay there and have a canoe trip ride instead of staying on a houseboat for a night. We’re so happy with our decision. It’s tranquil and right on the backwaters. The room is comfortable, with a big ceiling fan and good-sized bathroom. Breakfast was great and Divya made us feel right at home. We would stay again.

We had a lovely experience at Casa Evelyn. Our room was sparkling clean and the location was absolutely perfect and close to the beach. Our hosts were always present to provide local tips such as where to eat and to help in case we needed anything. They helped us book a great kayaking tour!

Edwin and his wife were the most loving hosts! The breakfast was so fantastic and traditional Kerala style - you can’t get it better anywhere else! He organized a backwater tour for us and was so helpful with everything. Great place to stay before or after a tour of the Kerala backwaters. Edwin and his family are amazing hosts and the breakfast was one of the best we've had in India.

It was really good to have stayed in this place cause of the humbleness of the hosts. This was the best home stay I have ever stayed in terms of hospitality, cleanliness and amenities. It almost felt like I was staying in my own house cause of the humbled hosts.

This is the ONLY place you should stay at when visiting Alappuzha! I cannot recommend it enough! Evelyn’s parents are so warm and welcoming that you do not want to leave! Conversations with them, their help in making plans and their above and beyond hospitality makes your stay even more memorable! Their smiles, and warmth is what I am taking back home with me with a promise to stay in touch! Alappuzha will now always have a spacial place in my heart thanks to them! P.S the coffee aunty prepares is a must have!

It is a beautiful place facing the Alleppey beach and has very clean and nice rooms. You wake up to the sea and can see the sunset right from the balcony out here. The care taker is a nice person who is there all the time and even makes nice tea. If you are looking for a nice relaxing stay, this is the place for you.

Very supportive staff, Ashokan was always available at the facility to assist guests. Guides and helps proactively. This house is located at a peaceful location facing beach and the place is like the images shown. Initially it was bit difficult to find. We enjoyed aur stay. Manu is a great host two hosts are very cooperative and available at all times. This house has a balcony which faces the beach. Other rooms don’t have this view. Place was clean. Kitchen is available for cooking if you want. Food offered by host and drinking water are chargeable. Overall definitely recommended.

The place is exactly the same as pictures, it was a dream home for me. Awesome view of the beach from the house spent a great mount of time looking at the beach. House is well maintained, the host also provided us with tasty breakfast at a reasonable cost. Another best part about the place is Zomato services here :p

Nice beach house

This place is great if you looking for a beach view room and in budget. Manu and his father were very hospitable they arranged for a stay at 5:30am by picking us up from the railway station. Very humble and caring people just like another local in Allepey :) expected to have a beach view room upstairs but it accommodates only a common balcony for the view. The rooms downstairs have a pretty good view of the beach too. We ordered food from Thaff delicacy for dinner. Overall good experience. Thanks Manu and Mani sir :)

Divya is an amazingly responsive host. She has a good network of transportation professionals etc that work closely with her - and are priced well. We appreciate her professionalism and fairness in all interactions.

Divya, Auntie and Uncle are very welcoming. They have three cute dogs which were following us most of the time :) We totally recommend the boat-trip with Uncle since it was our most relaxing experience in backwaters so far. Would love to come back sometime.

Every superlative every guest ever wrote is all true. It is a simple, basic, clean, comfortable place in the backwater. If you like peace, quiet, dogs, great food, local culture, you would love it. Otherwise this is not your place. We spent three GREAT days with divine Divya and her three adorable dogs (Kuchi, Hobi, and Vira). Took the government boat for more than 2.5 hours one day that went through incredible places that no house boat or other rental boats will go. Divya cooked wonderfully tasty meals for us except one evening when we all went out for dinner in town. You can not walk anywhere. You need to use a boat. This is an integral part of the charm of this place. Pocket wifi worked well. We will always have very fond memories of Divya's place. Go enjoy this special place without spending a fortune to see Kerals' backwater.

Nice homestay tucked away on one of the banks of the backwaters that form part of of west flowing river Pampa as it joins the mighty Vembanad lake in Alleppey. I was fortunate to get the lake facing room where you can sit on the verandah and watch the local people go up and down on their paddle boats, some carrying rice, some carrying local people, and of course quite a number of tourist houseboats. It's absolute silence at night with just a gentle swoosh of the water and maybe a few ducks quacking at some distance. Divya is a genuine and attentive host. Besides, she know the geography of the place quiet well, as is evident when she accompanied couple of us around in a paddle canoe cruise. Tip - ask her (as I did) on how to find a toddy shop nearby on the banks... It's a local alcoholic sweet & sour fizzy brew from coconut shoots, not amenable to all (but I just loved it), but still worth a try :-)

Divya's place is a little piece of heaven! It's a cute little house right on the water with happy boaters waving at you as they float on by, going greenery all around the house, and the friendliest dogs in the world live there, to go with their friendly owner, Divya. she provided tea quite a few times, and also breakfast, set outside so we could watch the water and eat. The house is small and basic, but it has what you need and for the price it's definitely a great deal. I'd highly recommend it to anyone!

Divya’s place is fantastic. Right on a beautiful stretch of the backwaters. Quiet and relaxing, you can sit in a hammock and watch the houseboats go by. Divya also prepared excellent food including a very welcome fresh salad. She also gave great recommendations for boating and massages. Divya has three friendly, nice dogs who we enjoyed going for a walk with. Definitely recommend this place!

While the location and the place were great, our favourite part of this stay was the hospitality of both Bobby and the caretaker of the property! They were welcoming, friendly, and helped us book transport for later in our trip (above and beyond!). The free breakfast was really good and traditional food. I would recommend this place to anyone passing through or staying in Allaphuza.

The host ( Mr. Bobby ) is responsive and really helpful. The caretaker is available 24/7 at the residence. They helped us in making reservations, recommending restaurants and places to visit. Our train timings were pretty weird but these people went out of their way to make sure we had a home away from home. Thank you.

Mr Watson was available whenever you called him. Mr BalGopalan helped us with local sightseeing including arranging a private shikara ride through the backwaters. Tasty breakfast served in the morning exactly at the time it was requested for. My wife was super happy with the arrangements. Will always stay at Riveria the next time we visit Alleppey.

A cleverly decorated place so close to the beach that you could walk there in under 2 minutes. There was nothing to complain about. Everything was perfect.

Evelyn’s place is a wonderful home. Her parents, whom were my hosts are warm, loving and super hospitable. It’s a great value and only a couple hundred meters to the beach. It’s a very quiet and safe neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again and I also highly recommend this beautiful location.

This property is an excellent stay, the rooms are clean, good location. Steffy and Raja, the manager are excellent people - they go out of their way to ensure you have a nice stay and a positive experience in Alleppey. The breaks fast is excellent and plentiful.

What can I say? Everything was great and we had a wonderful night! The manager of the space, Raju, was very accommodating and ready to help us with whatever we needed — extra towels, mattress, helped us with finding an extra outlet converter and helped us booked a houseboat tour, you name it. The ac worked well which was so important for us as it was very warm and humid — we even had to turn it down in the middle of the night as we got cold. We were three guests and the large bed easily accommodated us. We were provided a nice complimentary breakfast and our stay was very satisfactory overall.

Great place to visit. Aryuvedic massage was also good. Care Taker was very cooperative, help us to get rented scooters.

Room was good. Incharge Mr.Raju was kind and helped us during our stay.

Quiet area away from the centre but next to the water, which is great especially if you’re going on the boats. Lots of tuktuks available to take you around the city.

This is a really nice place, the host is so nice and really helpful with giving us advice on boats and transport out of Alleppey. The breakfast is really tasty as well!

We enjoyed our stay at supreme beach resort, the building is very new and our room was clean. The caretaker Mr. Binu was very very helpfull.

Well i am gonna start with the host (actually they’re 3) so all three guys, harry, bins and firoz are amazingly awesome. They were so kind and ready to help all the time, i never felt like i am away from my friends and family, we were there for almost 5 nights and when we left, it was like leaving home again. If anyone is visiting this property trust me they gonna treat you like their own family members and gonna guide you for local trips like friends not guests. And property is right on the beach little far from local market and cafes but this is what we wanted (right on the beach). But cafes or back water’s isn’t too far as well. And the last thing which we are missing is sunset.

A spacious room, very clean and comfortable, and very well located, near the Backwaters. The family is very nice and helpful. I'm very grateful to Mini.

The accommodation was very pleasant and the hospitality very good. In the morning there was for a small extra charge fresh breakfast and in the evening even dinner, if desired. There were also given tips for the city and things to do. All in all, a successful stay at very fair prices.

It was great stay at Snehadhara, it was near to 2 kms from Alappuzha KSRTC stand, very calm and quite house. Hospitality provided by fathima & family was really amazing and felt like family only.. They have a good knowledge regarding Alappuzha as well as local points so it was really helpful during the stay. The house was more than 50 years old with old kerala architecture , Near by ATM, as well as restaurants are available.

Fatima's place is very well located in Alleppey. It's an 80 year old house, so one gets an insight into the local ethnic architecture. She also helped me out to plan my Alleppey Sightseeing which is a great plus point. Recommended for solo, group travellers and couples.

I had an awesome stay at the Haven villa. Mahesh scheduled a pick up from the airport, provided great restaurant recommendations, and set me up with a great backwater tour. The villa is very nice and the pool is one of the only ones you can find on Airbnb in the area. Highly recommend staying here

My wife and I stayed at Adam's place for couple of days. We found the place after a bit of research and were skeptical before booking. But all our apprehensions were put aside as soon as we checked in to the place. It is located a bit far from Alleppey and away from hustle bustle of crowded city. But we loved the location because of serenity of location and 5 minute walk to the beach. The room was clean and spacious. Adam provided daily breakfast which was delicious. He also offered his bike and bicycles to roam around which we found very generous and helpful. He also gave us an experience to ride his small boat into small canal and to the ocean which we loved. He also helped with arrangement of cab to the airport. He is a great host and the place is also great.

This is a fantastic place to stay in Marari - we felt that Adam really cared that we had a great time and he was so helpful and welcoming throughout. The room was clean and comfortable with a lovely big bathroom but the real highlight was that we had use of a little boat to paddle our way to the beach and around some of the waterways - he was so relaxed about us using the boat and it was really lovely! The best way to arrive on a beach. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Right from the moment I arrived Adams made me feel so welcome, his warmth and generosity was such a nice surprise after a few days travelling on my own with not much contact with previous hosts. He offered to show me round the area and took me to the local beach on his canoe down the river which was definitely the highlight for me. What an incredibly beautiful place, the combination of the stillness and tranquillity of the river with only the sounds of bird calls and the oars dropping in the water leading to the palm fringed tropical paradise of Marari beach, with its wild warm sea, and miles of white sand to explore, almost made my heart explode! The home stay is lovely, the room was clean and bright and the bed super comfy. Adams Mum cooked breakfast and dinner and the food was really good. I'm so grateful to Adams and his Mum for making my time in this place so relaxed, fun and easy. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone wanting to explore this area. Thank you Adams :)

This is the place you have to stay in Marari!! The house is 5 minutes from the best (secluded) part of the beach. The hospitality is like no other homestay. Adamson goes above and beyond to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The place is so clean and his mum’s cooking is delicious (we ate dinner there every night). It was so nice to try the produce from his garden, his homemade wine and fish from his oxygenated pool for dinner. He let us use his bikes and his boat to go to the beach. The boat is on the backwater canals next to the house which are so beautiful, especially at sunset. He also helped us organise our itinerary and find the best rates such as boat tour in Alleppey and our taxi to Munnar. He also acted as a guide explaining the sights to us on the boat tour. The shower is powerful and the bed is like memory foam. Also there are shops close by for anything else you want. We enjoyed the homestay so much we added on two extra days. Thank you so much :-)

My sister my daughter and me were on a trip through south India. We were really happy to find Adam. He helped us with everything, had good advices and send us to unbelievable places. With his help we make an amazing boot-trip into the backwaters. He even ome and guided us home when we didn't find someone who could understand us!!! The food is marvellous and very indisch in the best meaning. His mother cooks the best dishes for you. He is our number one host in south India!!!! The beach is 10 minutes from the house. You can have nice swimming time there. With the tuck- tuck 5 minutes away at Marari beach you find nice little restaurants directly at the beach for coffee or little meals! All together a wonderful and much recommended place to stay!! We wish Adam all the best!

Adamson was the best host we have ever stayed with, bar none. He attended to our every need or question without hesitation. He is extremely helpful and helped us plan our day trips even when we really didn't have much of a plan. His mom's cooking was fantastic and definitely a highlight! He really allowed us to have a local experience and was more like a friend than a host. He let us borrow his bicycles so we could bike around. He even let us borrow his local fishing style raft and paddle so we could take the river route to the beach. The homestay was incredibly clean, well equipped with an AC and water heater and quiet. The location is amazing with lots of birds, empty beach close by and little shops around for additional small amenities. Definitely an experience that I would recommend and repeat!

We really enjoyed our stay at Johnson's. He picked us up from the train station so finding it and check-in were easy. He recommended a good restaurant that was close by. Our room was quite large with a nice balcony with swinging chairs and and an en suite. Mosquito nets were provided. He arranged an amazing backwater tour for us in a canoe which was paddled by Antony. We got to see the smaller canals which the large houseboats are unable to travel down so we got away from the busy main canals. We were then cooked an amazing meal by Minnie at her home in the midst of the backwaters and the food was incredible - authentic Keralan food and Minnie was so warm and welcoming. This tour is a must and was great value for money. Johnson was very kind and drove us to the bus station the next day. Would highly recommend this place.

The best choice for all who will come to Backwater will be the place of Divya. The location just above the canal is incredibly beautiful. In the meantime, try the Divya's barbecue.

I was so lucky to find Divia's place ! The location is amazing, away from the noisy city, just by the river, with nice balcony and you can sit there for hours just watching the beautiful river life. Divia and Nissan are so charming people and will do anything just to make you fill home, The breakfast is very rich and authentic, good chai is also being served through the day.. and of course, I was totally falling in love with cochi, bira and Hoby, the lovely dogs that makes it even harder to leave ! I never felt so home in india before.. and I'm already miss you all . See you again soon :)

I can't say enough good things about Divya and her accommodation. We were thrown out and seriously under prepared by the hartal and a terrible taxi driver, but Divya did not let this get in the way of us having a perfect few days with her. She helped us with sorting everything we wanted to do, took us to fantastic restaurants, recommended great services and provided really clean and comfortable accommodation. The food was incredible and her dogs are angels on earth. All the services she recommended and arranged for us were perfect, great people, really clean and the bugs weren't as intense as we expected. We slept like logs as we have probably never been as relaxed as we were at Nomads. Thank you so so much Divya, we will definitely be back!

The place has amazing views and is perfect for a peaceful vacation. Accessibility - There are private and community boats that take you to the house each charge 100rs and 10rs respectively. The community boat can be accessed at the back side of the house and is just 5-10 mins away. The host will help you with the directions. Pets : The host has two pet dogs. Dont be alarmed because they are quite friendly and will even help you get your way around the neighborhood. Rooms : The rooms were clean. We had a tiny issue with the closet and wished the plug sockets were next to the beds. Breakfast : We were given authentic homemade kerela breakfast during our stay which made it pleasant. Place: The place has got an very good selection of books at their tiny library. They've got music instruments and hammocks as well. Nishant (co-host ) was extremely friendly and catered to all our needs. He helped us with local routes and fixed problems. I would strongly suggest this place, the hosts will make your stay perfect and relaxed their hospitality.

There are not quite enough words to describe how much I fell in love with this place. From the moment I stepped off the boat, I felt every part of me relax. From waking up to the sounds of the animals coming to life and Indian chanting, to going to sleep with fireflies right outside your window, relaxing in the hammock through the day waving at boats passing by, delicious food, adorable dogs... I fell in love. The perfect place for some r&r. Divya is such a kickass, awesome woman too. My stay here was everything I hoped it would be and more. I am so sad to be leaving. We were very well received in this accommodation 100m from the beach! We were able to take a tour in the backwaters with a small Indian family who took us, prepared breakfast and lunch, etc ... for only 1000 rupees per person! (Thanks to the housing contacts) Jay was exceptional with us (uber eat staff!) And very good company. Frisbee on the beach, rooftop party in music, photo sharing ... a perfect stay!

Antony’s guest house was a very nice place to stay. We were waited by him and his staff and the little cottages are lovely. Special thanks to Jay, from the staff, that was amazing with us. He made our stay very warm. :) We thought the breakfast was included but it wasn’t So we had to pay at the very end, which is the only bad point because it wasn’t clear (breakfast is specified into equipments). Antony's place is perfect. Almost on the beach, you'll have a beautiful sunset every evening, the Catamaran Caffe is right in front of the gate and the food is good, the milkshakes are great (I've tried the vegan ones) and the guys working there are very friendly. Antony was very flexible, easy going and helpful. Jay is also there if you need anything. They arranged a tour on a little boat for me and 2 friends; a nice old man accompanied us through the canals all day and his wife cooked delicious breakfast and lunch at their lovely place surrounded by rice fields... I highly recommend!

The host helped us out with local tips and gave us suggestions. The place was as expected and there were absolutely no problems with the stay.

We stayed at Neela Waters for two nights and had a wonderful experience, we really wished we had booked to stay longer. Jo and Nachi are superb hosts and really interesting people. They have all the local info and can arrange trips and transport at good prices. The breakfasts are fabulous, local dishes and fresh fruit. Our room and en suite were really lovely and the house is beautiful and located on a quiet beach with good local cafés and restaurants nearby. This homestay is probably the best we have ever experienced and we will definately be back and will stay for longer next time. We loved Neela Waters!

Small room with comfortable bed. Beach is a short walking distance and there are some restaurants and street food. The host is very helpful and full of advice. By recommendation of the host we took a boat to backwaters. Very good.

During my stay, it coincided with the festival period of a nearby temple and was exposed to explosions from 5 am to 9 pm. Without it, I would have been surrounded by dogs and relaxed.

We were well received by Divya. She is always available as soon as you need anything. She gave us information about her environment, the flowers, ... she showed us how to go to town, even accompanied us and made us discover very good restaurants. The accommodation is clean. As the mattresses were a bit hard for us, she quickly came up with a solution and gave us two more mattresses. The place is identical to the photos, his house is just behind the same ground. The meals are simple, good, keralais No fruit juice, but you can ask for it. She will also make you very good lassi. Dogs, which are the loves of Divya, are adorable. We recommend without any problem the accommodation of Divya

Divya's homestay/hostel is a great alternative (or even complement) to taking a houseboat in the backwaters. We spent two beautiful days relaxing in the hammock and watching as the many houseboats quietly churned by. In the evening, the waters were like glass, and it was lovely to chat with others staying there. Walking about and interacting with the village, having fresh fish delivered, riding the public ferry, delicious thali in the village, helping bake chapatis - it all added up to a unique and rewarding stay. Highly recommended.
