Nice little spot if you’re looking for a quick night. Monroe is a cute little Swiss town with lots to do and see, and Pat is incredibly hospitable. Just be prepared for some clutter and a shared bathroom!

She also recommended lots of cool places in Monroe and gave me a useful map for the rest of my journey when I departed. I'd recommend Pat's home as a base for anyone staying in the Monroe area.

You will not find a better bargain paired with such a beautiful space! Frank and Moonyean were top notch hosts, responsive to all our questions and needs, and made our stay one of the best ever! We enjoy cooking our own meals when on the road - their fully stocked kitchen matched wonderfully with our requirements. The space is clean, spacious, and very private. While we don’t have children, the space is laid out for little tykes, and the hosts are clearly welcoming and considerate of all ages of their guests. Fully recommend this space and its gracious hosts!

We really enjoyed our stay at Frank and Moonyean’s place. It was a perfect spot for our family to spend a week between holiday events and visiting friends. Their place was very clean and modern, but what stood out most is how thoughtful it was laid out and furnished. We had everything we needed to cook meals, relax, and keep our kids busy. The beds were very comfortable! In addition to the great space, they were exceedingly helpful with open and clear communication out entire stay. You can easily call this place home during your stay!

Our farm stay was the first for my boyfriend & me. We were not disappointed! They were spectacular hosts & we adored the animals as well as listening to Karen’s knowledge on them. Karen truly pours her heart into her farm. We were sad to say goodbye! We may make this a yearly trip. 😊

We enjoyed our first trip so much, this was our second within a month. Such a lovely space during the holiday season, the weather was milder so we spent quite a bit of time by the fire pit, when we could get our boys away from all of the sweet animals. So quiet and peaceful, chickens roaming around, cats waiting outside the door for snuggles, drama llama escaping again, haha! Chewie , the goat has a special place in our hearts, the kittens, oh, the kittens! And of course the sheep, I’m pretty sure my boys know the names of all of the animals now! I love that it’s such a rustic, barn feel downstairs , but the actual barn we stay in is so clean, beautiful, a true vacation for a mom. Thank you, Karen and George for your hospitality, and great ideas of things to do. The Toy Train Barn was a huge hit and Cave of the Mounds, wow, amazing. And stop in Mt. Horeb, with all the crazy trolls, we ate a 1 and 1/2 pound soft pretzel at the Grumpy Troll. We can’t wait to come back and see all the new lambs!!

This place definitely has the wow factor! The loft is beautiful. And the animals are so sweet and gentle. I wanted to spend more time with them, but I was afraid my husband would start sneezing if I had too much snuggle time with them. Karen and George were awesome. We loved this trip.

What a little gems of a place! ❤️ We went on a girls trip with my 11 and 14 year old daughters and 3 of her girlfriends she met at camp. The animals, treehouse and shopping in New Glarus were the highlights of the weekend! We feel completely and utterly in love with the kittens on sight (Caludious was my personal fave) and it was great to see how well Karen and George cared for their animals. One thing to be aware of is that the loft does have an open concept, which allowed sound to travel easily. It was a bit of a challenge (obviously) with 4 teenage girls who wanted to be up later than mom and little sister. However the treehouse served as their hangout where they could talk as we slept. 😉 Karen and George were quick to respond with questions and their hospitality was amazing. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us!

I can’t say enough about this place! I have never seen my 2 boys (11 & 12) so excited, they had so much fun with the animals, my husband and I as well! Bandit, the llama, fell in love with my boys, my husband fell in love with the little gray kitten. Karen and George are amazing hosts, so helpful, and so many wonderful special touches around the loft. The fire pole and fire pit were a big hit. The loft is beautiful, full size everything in the kitchen and so clean. We had so much fun, we decided to come back in a few weeks and stay longer. Can’t wait!!

Lovely place. If you're looking for a quiet rural getaway, but with plenty of neighborhoring villages to visit, Karen and George's place is the perfect rural mixture with a beautiful loft and animals below...great for couples or family with kids

Amazing value. It's not a bad location if you're exploring the Spring Green area. Steven is a great host and has plenty of useful tips/suggestions. The Pour House has a fantastic breakfast menu at a great price too. The bed was not the best but overall my husband and I didn't mind. It was a comfortable stay, and we'll stay again if we're in the area.

This was a unique and fun place to stay. The bartender and cook were fabulous. Very quiet, and the drive to reach the time town was more than worth it!

I had a great time staying here. Hung out downstairs at the bar with the locals. Food was great, company was great. Such a great little bar and great people to make you feel at home. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

This was a great, affordable place to spend the night while passing through town on a road trip. Check-in was easy, and the bar and restaurant downstairs were super convenient.

I needed a place to break up a long drive and this was perfect. The room was inexpensive, clean, the bed firm, and the bathroom clean and everything worked well. I enjoyed a full Wisconsin dinner of cheeseburger, cheese curds, beer and ice cream downstairs and had a good sleep upstairs.

Absolutely great hospitality. Super affordable liquor. Rock is great. He even opened the kitchen just for the 6 of us late in the night after closing time. We all had a great time.

If you need what this is... it's perfect! No frills, but all the necessities. Hot shower, decent water pressure, microwave, fridge, comfy bed, very peaceful and quiet except for the occasional animal sound. Very clean. The building is essentially light industrial, but it is very new construction, is heated, and is well lit. I'd choose this sort of set-up over a motel every time. The hosts are friendly and accomodating, but are very hard-working, with a lot of other things to attend to, so this would not be a great choice for guests who are fussy or needy.

This is an unusual but interesting place to stay. The set up is adequate but not fancy at all. I am not an overly picky person but if you are allergic to dust, this is not the place for you as it is in a machine shed/barn. The dust wasn't a problem except when I got out of the shower and walked with damp feet on the floor - dirty feet! The owners have an old turn table and tons of vinyl records to play. The king sized bed is super comfortable and, except for farm animal noises, the place is very quiet. The owners gave me lots of privacy, I had the whole building to myself and it's HUGE. Would have loved to have stayed in the spring/summer and actually gotten out with the farm animals.

Everything is as described. It is a great farm and a very unique place to stay. The animals and the old records were a nice addition. Jeanne and Tom were very welcoming and accommodating.

I cant say enough how much I enjoyed staying at Goat Land! Jeanne and Tom (and dingo)were very welcoming even though we were a tad late coming in. Even though it’s getting colder outside it’s cozy and warm inside the barn with a record player stereo system and all of the great oldie records to spin! iI’ll definitely be coming back soon since it’s only two hours from milwaukee! The goats just sealed the deal 🐐♥️✨

Jeanne is great and her farm is very peaceful!

Most people won't be able to understand the simplicity, and real beauty in the place. If you want an unbelievable value, in a rolling rural area-hit the RESERVE button now. GOOD HOST(S)....people and animals.

Jeanne and Tom were excellent hosts, friendly and accommodating, particularly for arranging charging for my Tesla overnight in their shed on the farm. The goats were fun to watch. Pretty good restaurant just a few miles down the road.

If the idea of bunking above a chicken yard sounds cool, this is your place. Jeanne’s farm stay is clean and comfortable, with all the mod-cons necessary. I did a quick load of clothes, too. The goats are great, the sheep are silent, and the donkey will steal your heart. Jeanne’s a great host. But it’s not super easy to find if you don’t have a sharp Co-pilot. Look for the blue barn roof with a cow statue on top!

Beautiful home! Super clean ! And gorgeous view! Close and easy drive to Galena to do some shopping and dinner.

This is a wonderful home in a beautiful spot. Super quiet yet close to town, trails, and Breweries. Everything you need is here. Dan was very helpful and communication was easy and quick. We definitely recommend this place!

We had an amazing time staying at Dan and Kellies place! The views from the deck at sunset are amazing. The dogs had a blast running through the huge property all day. Dan stopped by a few times to make sure everything was ok and help with anything we needed. Will definitely be booking another stay here soon!

An amazing cabin in a beautiful location! We came for a few days to get away from the city and this was the perfect place to do that. The space was full of really thoughtful details and you can tell how much care goes into the place. We would absolutely come back again!

Nice quiet remote location for some much-needed R&R. If you are looking for things to do out and about it is only a short drive.

Roberta's place was even better than I thought it would be. The rooms were larger than I expected, with plenty of space to spread out and put my things away. The kitchen was large with enough room to cook and spread out on the table, and tons of utensils, cookware, etc. There was even a little nook for reading and writing - just what I needed for this trip. Everything was super clean too! But the best part about this property is the outdoors - amazingly quiet, tons of nature, room to walk, and curious goats to brighten your day. This was my first stay here (for a solo meditation retreat) and it had everything I needed. I will definitely be back again!

Our stay was quiet and comfortable; we wanted a weekend in the country and got exactly that. The location was perfect for our day trips to Mineral Point and New Glarus for art, beer, food. The perks of fresh eggs, banana bread, and goats were also appreciated. We’d love to come back to stay during the warmer, more vibrant months on the land.

This weekend at Roberta's guest house was a fantastic getaway. The banana bread she made and farm fresh eggs she brought us were just the beginning of this ideal experience spending a weekend away the from the hustle and bustle of city life. Making a short drive to small towns in the area to eat and shop revealed a true Wisconsin culture that thrives on seemingly nothing but local farms and businesses. We enjoyed our anniversary weekend here very much and highly recommend to anyone considering staying here that they take advantage of everything this lovely, modern, extraordinary, inspiring place has to offer.

This space is a wonder. The house is cozy and exactly the amount of space we needed, the farm-fresh breakfast (delicious aronia-banana bread, for us!) was perfect for getting the day started, and my fiance got to see the Milky Way for the first time in the peace of the surrounding land. Plus, the goats were very friendly! All in all, a restful stay with a warm personal touch.

Roberta was a great communicator and made us feel welcome in every way. We were treated to fresh farm eggs and aronia banana bread. Quiet and beautiful setting with walking trails. Non-scented soaps and local teas were much appreciated. We couldn't have had a better stay and were sorry we had to leave! Christine

This was our first AirBnb experience and Roberta did an amazing job of not only being quick to answer any questions, but we loved receiving fresh banana bread and farm eggs for breakfast! We loved our stay here, it was the perfect weekend getaway space. Loved being so close to the Monroe center square, but enjoyed having such a cozy space to relax. Located downtown you are surrounded by great options for food and entertainment and only a block from Minhas Brewery. The apartment was so clean I was almost afraid to sit down, but she has an incredibly comfortable couch and the greatest movie of time in her entertainment center, Smokey and the Bandit. Superhost!

Amanda’s place in Monroe was fantastic! We have been coming to Monroe for day trips for a while, but never really found anywhere in the square to stay & walk to all the fun things Monroe has to do. Amanda’s place is the PERFECT location. It’s spotless & comfy & even better than the pics!! We can’t wait to visit again in the future. Great communication & easy check in & out. If you are debating.... DO IT!! You will be happy you did! 🤗

Location, location, location. You can't get any closer to the action than this place. Would be the perfect base for Cheese Days, but alas, w will miss it in 2020. Very stylish, comfortable space. Big rooms, high ceilings, lovely touches. Great for an overnight or extended stay. Excellent host who communicated with us the entire process.

So my weekend at Schuhchen's with my seven year old boy could not have gone better. I knew I loved the Driftless region of South/W. Central Wisconsin from a prior visit to a pig farm in Belleville, a town nearby, but this trip was something on a different level. I received accommodations that all prior guests promised I would. FIVE STARS.. Please come visit the "four seasons" at Schuhchen's home, an architectural study of lines, levels, colors, perspectives, and natural landscapes. Inside, it's the cultural interior designers dream. The natural lights are fine indeed. Any musical minded soul is certainty at home here. Oh and farming, and a wood stove and sight lines and perfect windows, and this and that, but let's get to the main attraction; there is the lovely, amusing, talented lady who is responsible for all of the above. Well done, madame!!

Schuhchen was so friendly and welcoming! Her place was super easy to find, upon arriving you’re greeted with a beautifully constructed home (that she designed!!), with an amazing view! The house is even more beautiful in person! The bed was very comfortable, and everything was SO clean! She even lit the wood burning stove prior to us returning so it was toasty warm! Unfortunately, we were just too tired to enjoy it. My boyfriend and I had a very lovely time for our very first AirBnB stay! Thank you Schuhchen for being such an amazing host! If we do another trip out there we definitely will be looking into her place again!

Schuhchen's house is beautiful -- stylish, spotlessly clean, and warm. My favorite part, though, was the hostess. Schuchen is such a very kind and fun person! I've never met an Airbnb host who treated me like an honored guest in her home, but it was amazing. (Note to travelers who want privacy: Schuhchen made it clear that the level of interaction was up to me. I'm sure a solitary visit is possible, if that's your style. I wanted to talk with her about the house, Wisconsin life, etc. and she most graciously obliged!) The house and woods are both so calming and lovely. Do yourself and your spirit a favor and spend some quiet time at Chez Schuchen. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Simply the best.

Schuhchen’s home is even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. Driving to her home was fun, especially going up her long driveway, revealing a cozy and stylish home at the top of the hill! My boyfriend and I spent the night in one of the comfiest beds ever, really. Although it was a cold November night, the warmth from the wood burning stove and the heavy comforter kept us very warm. Our clean and well lit bathroom was just across from our bedroom. I enjoyed the shower a lot. Schuhchen was very careful when designing and building this home. You can see her creative thoughtfulness in everything from the vaulted ceilings and small loft bed In our bedroom, to the carafe of water and cups to quench our thirst in the middle of the night with out going too far. (I really loved that water). This was my first Air B&B, and I would definitely stay at another, with hopes of it being as nice as Schuhchen’s, and for my next new Glarus weekend I would totally stay with Schuhchen again!

This place is awesome! It is so much nicer than the pictures give it credit for. My friends and I enjoyed it as a home base for exploring in the area. We came in the winter, and we’d love to comeback when the weather turns a bit!

We had a wonderful time staying here during our winter weekend in New Glarus. The home is a good location with plenty of space and room for multiple couples. You can walk to downtown when nice outside. We were there in the middle of January, so we drove instead of walking to town. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return.

We loved our rental in New Glarus. Amber and Mike have an adorable townhouse with three bedrooms and two full baths. The kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need for a short stay. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The location is not quite downtown, so if that's important for you, take note, but getting to downtown is just a short walk or drive. We would definitely come back to New Glarus and stay in this house again!

Such a great place, nestled in downtown New Glarus. Very quiet at night, restful with thoughtful things everywhere, right down to having great coffee or tea choices! It was definitely a nice retreat from our busy lives. And the suggestion for going to Cow & Quince (we went for breakfast) was spot on. HIGHLY recommend.

Melissa and Don's place is perfectly located so you can walk to wonderful restaurants and shops. They were quick to respond and offered suggestions on things to do. Their apartment was extremely clean and had everything and more that I needed. I would 100% recommend a stay here.

You truly are in the best location to walk around Downtown New Glarus! The loft was amazingly clean and refreshing as well as updated and stocked full of extras. Better then a full service hotel!

Roger’s place is an up-to-date, well decorated home with lots of open space and a great view of Willow Lake. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the home was exceptionally clean. Roger was great to work with! We’ve already recommended to our friends and family in the Freeport area!

Roger’s Place on Willow Lake is amazing. This bright, open and spacious home was great for my husband and myself and then our family get together. A fully equipped kitchen, dining room table that seats 10+, and a bright spacious living room that looks out over the lake. That is not to mention the family room with the ping pong table in the lower level. Roger was quick to answer all of my questions and emailed instructions regarding the house the day before we arrived. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet neighborhood home to stay in...Roger’s place will meet your needs.

My friend and I had a fun weekend out of the city planned and there couldn’t have been a better or more comfortable place for it! They had everything we would’ve needed there, especially in the kitchen which makes up for the fact it’s a little far out of town. It also felt completely private and safe, which we appreciated. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at Julie's place. Everything was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The welcome basket left for us with local beers and snacks was a nice touch. It rained our first night and Julie was so thoughtful as to ask whether she could bring us dry kindling, since she knew we were hoping to have a campfire. We enjoyed the secluded location, which was still only 15 minutes away from groceries and shops. There were all the utensils we needed to cook meals, though I personally would have liked a regular coffee pot instead of a Keurig, so we could have a full pot of coffee, but the Keurig pods were provided, which was convenient. The pool table, TV and games kept us entertained. Overall, I would highly recommend Julie's place to anyone. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place! Easy to find and perfectly located for our travel plans. Huge open living space- kids loved the pool table! Sat outside under the porch our last morning next to the gas fire pit and watched deer grazing by the tree line. Stocked with everything you would need for a stay and has WiFi which many of our precious Air B&Bs have not had. Totally recommend!

Trulie Oaks was exceptionally clean and comfortable for a quick girls' getaway. Conveniently located near many popular WI attractions. Many cool amenities: Netflix, pool table, Galaga arcade game, fire pit, grill. Well stocked kitchen (appliances, spices, coffee, etc.) as well as thoughtful touches such as a welcome basket of beer, water, and snacks and bug spray for outdoor adventures! Stay here...you will have a truly great experience!

This was our first visit through Airbnb and we were blown away! The home was exactly as described - plus some! We loved all the little touches like the arcade game, wine cooler, air mattresses, bag toss and firepit but our favorite touch was the welcome basket with a "Happy 1st anniversary" note in it. Our expectations were surpassed and we will definitely be back with friends &/or family!

Beth’s bungalow was a perfect spot for a weekend getaway in New Glarus. It was a short walk to the downtown restaurants and shops. It had all the amenities that we needed. The bungalow was very clean and welcoming! We are looking forward to staying here again in the future.

Berger's Bungalow was a great place to stay. It has many conveniences, special touches and is exactly as described! The kitchen is new & fully stocked. We found ample linens, paper products & very clean throughout. The owners are helpful & respond quickly to questions. There is a large yard , ample parking & it is in a nice quiet neighborhood. If steps are a concern you need to know there are a half dozen to enter the residence & 2 of the beds are a flight of stairs down in basement level. Other than that it is a fine value which wr enjoyed & would definitely recommend!

My fiance, son and 10 year old grandson stayed here for a overnite while exploring the area. April greeted us and showed us around the property. The pigs were so fun to watch and learn about. April left us farm fresh eggs and greens from the farm. Which ended up making a delicious breakfast. My grandson loved his own space in the loft. Without a TV, we were able to enjoy board games, puzzles and actual conversation. :) The farm has so many areas to take amazing photos. Lots of memories were made. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Amazing, calming place with amazing hosts.

We spent a weekend trip at the cottage and it was great. April greeted us and took us through a plant workshop of their land. We learned about medicinal properties and what was edible. The space was super cute - we were able to cook our meals there and have a bonfire during the nights. April and Steve we’re out and about on the land so if you have any questions they were there to answer them. They were beyond great hosts, showed us around and gave us all the tips for the local spots.

A genuine farm stay with genuine people! The area is so beautiful. A very welcome shift from urban living. April is so passionate about sustainable farming and living. Our conversations were a real treat. My 11-year-old loved our time there as well. We hope to return.

This property is absolutely magical. There are flowers, birds, and butterflies everywhere. And don’t forget the friendly pigs! April and Steve were so kind explaining their work and all about the farm to us! We want to come back for every season. It was one of the most relaxing, beautiful weekends we have ever had. If you’re looking to have a peaceful escape, this place is perfect. New Glarus cheese shops and brewery are also very close and enjoyable too! Thank you again!

This is a lovely home with great space for family and friends to gather!

Our family decided to spend a weekend in Monroe, half of us came from Chicago and the other half from Minnesota. This was a the perfect weekend get away house. It blows you away it was so beautiful! On the main floor the 4 bedrooms all have their own bathrooms ensuite which was very nice. We had a couple sleep in the basement on the couch and air mattress. I would love to come back when it’s nicer out to take advantage of the property, volleyball and the outdoor kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked which made cooking easy. We absolutely loved our weekend and highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed!

A fantastic place for a short getaway

My husband and I were seeking a peaceful weekend escape from the city, and that's exactly what we found at Circle M Farm! The farm itself is beautiful, the house is warm and colorful, and its location is perfect - walking distance to a small town with eateries and antiquing, and driving distance to a number of other towns with lots to see and do. Many thanks to Kriss and Shannon for their generous hospitality.

Kriss is an amazing host and made us feel perfectly at home for our entire stay. We had such a great time kicking around this wonderful little farm, playing with the animals and enjoying our adorable and cozy room. And of course, yummy breakfast always makes everything better.

We had an amazing girls weekend with my friend and daughter! Beautiful home and decor. My daughter loved the animals. An alpaca, apple and pumpkin farms are nearby and we went to Mineral Point for artisan shops. We loved doing the felting. The house was so cozy! Breakfast was great too! Will be back!

From the moment you drive up to the farm, a feeling a awe and welcome was had We were greeted by Kris and Shannon With a warm heartfelt welcome Our room was spacious, clean and bright The bathroom was large and the amenities abundant Location location We had breakfast every morning with fresh bread, fresh eggs, yogurt, fruits and bacon one day, sausage the next etc. Each morning was a wonderful way to start our day. Conversation was easy and comfortable We asked if we could help with the farm chores, and with a big smile we were ushered outside to feed the goose, ducks, chickens, pigs, hearded the sheep and cow into the next coral. Our stay at Kriss's place couldn't have been better! Their hospitality is among the very best of any Airbnb that we've stayed at. Upon our arrival, we were given a grand tour by our hosts including Dolly, a 4 month old puppy. The farm and the accommodations were just as described. In the morning we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast. We highly recommend that you consider a stay at the Circle M Farm.

We spent a perfect weekend at Kriss and Shannon's place. My toddler daughter was constantly amazed at every turn-- it's truly the perfect getaway for young families. We hope to be back next year!

The mansion is beautiful and Penny was a thoughtful host. The rooms are very comfortable. I would love to come back sometime to see the refurbishments that she has planned.

My wife and I found this wonderful mansion to stay at for our anniversary, as we were headed to Monroe, Wi to have a weekend's getaway to visit the Minhaus Brewery, distillery and winery. Penny was an absolutely amazing host and even offered us lawn chairs to take in the local concert on the square when we arrived. The mansion felt inviting and smelt amazing. After a long day of exploring, the front porch was a welcome sight and even offers a gas grill if you'd like to stay in and make your own which complements the little kitchen inside for use. There are multiple seating areas within the property to relax including a large den with a larger tv for your viewing. As a response to other reviews of this property stating the grounds could use some work, I would say " don't we all have constant upkeep on our own properties ". Penny and her husband have made this a beautiful place and have many more plans to enrich this great place. We can't wait to come back and see all of there progress and of course return to eat at Pancho & Lefty's, the best pulled pork we've ever had .

An spacious beautiful duplex, much bigger than we expected from the pics. The hosts were so accommodating and helpful. I would definitely recommend people to stay here. I am considering coming back during the summer months.

Loved my 2-week stay so much, I came back for 2 more. April and Steve home in a sunny little south-facing Driftless valley is convenient to many places I needed to be, but also extremely comfortable, super cute, and so, so relaxing. Visit the happy pigs or make a fire and watch it snow (my favorite.) Easy communication with the hosts, nice comfy bed and bedding, fully stocked kitchen...I loved it and I hope to come back soon.

April kindly shares the reasons for the eco friendly life she leads as well as her wide knowledge of farming and raising animals. This place is magic. Kris and Shannon are warm and accommodating. The house is adorable and inspiring. It’s one of those experiences you tuck in your heart to remind you of the goodness in this world.

Kriss and Shannon were excellent hosts. Shannon gave us a tour of the farm and always made sure the fire pit was ready for an evening of s’mores and stargazing. Kriss made wholesome delicious locally sourced breakfast that we gorged on daily. The animals were grazing on pasture or chilling in the shade and let us pet them. Even the feral cats were sweet and cuddly. The two great pyrenees sheep dogs were cute big balls of fur and adorable to brush and cuddle. We enjoyed riding the bikes to town and watching the sunset over the flowering meadows around the farm. Everything was designed for it to be a relaxing experience. Overall, this stay was amazing, better than I imagined :)

Every experience I had was beyond my expectations. The farm was well organized, they were very welcoming, and the breakfast was super tasty. I would definitely come back to visit their farm sometime later!

This is a very picturesque property and the Farmhouse is in great condition. There are games for all ages, books, a well-appointed kitchen, outdoor grills, and cozy living spaces. The hosts were in communication and responsive to all our questions. The price is also very reasonable for what is offered.

We absolutely love this farm house. This is our third stay. So homey and in such a peaceful gorgeous setting. Wildlife everywhere you look. And the house has an old world feel but with every modern amenity. It’s beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and organized. The kitchen is very well equipped for whatever you would like to cook! We also like the proximity to Galena. Will be back again!

Jeanne and Ralph are fantastic hosts! There had been a storm and Ralph stopped by to see if we were ok. Even in the extreme heat wave, the house was comfortable. The Farmhouse is spotless. There is a nice mix of yesteryear and modern amenities to make a perfect stay. If we are ever in the area again I know where we are staying - Jeanne and Ralph's Farmhouse!

Lauren’s place was PERFECT for my girls weekend. The kitchen space was very user friendly for all our meals, and the living room was extremely comfortable (loved the couch). There was plenty of room for my girlfriends and I to sleep comfortably. Bathrooms were fully stocked with towels and amenities. I especially loved how close it was to downtown. I wasnt sure what to expect going to Stockton, IL for a 3-month stay, but JB's apartment exceeded all expectations! As a student staying in the area alone for an internship, JB went above and beyond to make sure I felt at home and safe here. He allowed me privacy yet was always a phone call away for any issues! Highly recommend this place to anyone coming to the area! A short drive from beautiful Galena and a beautiful drive to Freeport or Dubuque. This place is comfy and perfect for a single or family traveler(s)!

Jb’s place is great. He was very helpful with suggestions. He was also very flexible, and allowed us to add a guest to our reservation at the last minute. The location is perfect in Stockton. It’s a very nice apartment. We were very comfortable during our stay.

Our stay at the Ivy Inn was lovely. The space is clean, spacious, and comfortable. JB greeted us for check in and walked us through the apartment explaining anything we would need to know. He was so incredibly friendly and even left us with some snacks, juice, and coffee! The apartment is right on Main Street in Stockton and just a step away from a great cafe with delicious breakfast. Parking was easy. Overall we really enjoyed our stay! Thank you, JB!

We stayed at JB's place for slightly over a month, which is the longest AirBnB visit that we've ever done before. Communication with JB during check-in and during our stay was great. The place was clean and centrally located in town. On the whole, we would highly recommend that others stay here if they are in the area. Stockton is a great little town, and JB's place is a great value. We hope to come back and visit sometime in the future!

Great location downtown New Glarus. Perfect for a weekend getaway. The hosts are great and were very responsive. The apartment was ready for us as described and was very clean. The hosts even left us a few drinks and some snacks which was a very nice touch. One small critique - the walls are a little "thin". You can hear some music at night from the bar next door and some ambient noise from the neighboring apartment. It's really not a big deal and would not be a deal breaker for me, but it was noticeable. Overall - great stay, I would definitely stay here again.

Awesome location within walking distance to most local attractions. The New Glarus Brewery and Baileys Run Vineyard were just a mile or two out of town. Has a private parking space off the street and an adorable space inside! The fridge had some local beers and waters and there were some snack size bags of chips on the table for us-a sweet surprise and awesome for when we got back to the room late at night!

The location was wonderful! Directions were very helpful and thorough and check-in was a breeze. We had a wonderful stay. While there is wifi, it is not super fast. We had difficulty streaming Netflix in the evening via the Roku. The shower has great water pressure but is a little small and awkward with where the doors are. Overall, I would recommend - it's perfect for a weekend getaway!

This was exactly the place we were looking for. 3 families with 4 little kids in tow, and we found a wonderful host, house, and experience. It is as advertised - a working dairy farm where the cows are just outside your door. We will be back!

What a great experience for our New Year celebration with our friends. We've been a lot of places in our 30 years of traveling together, and who knew we just needed to visit our local area for such a great stay. The house was a friendly and comfortable place for 8 "seniors" to gather in. When I choose a place for the group I usually go for one that has the best gathering space, and with the fireplace and comfortable seating this one ticked all the boxes. The unexpected delight was the birth of a new baby Brown Swiss that we were allowed to name. Her name is Melody, and say hello to her when you visit. It was a delight talking to Dan and Ashley about their vision for the farm. They are off to a terrific start.

Our stay was amazing. We were looking for a place for family from Minnesota and Indiana to meet for our Christmas. The original plan was Wisconsin Dells but we decided to try this place instead and we are all glad we did. Dan and Ashley are just awesome. My daughter fell in love with Zoe and Leo. We really enjoyed listening to Dan talk about the background and future vision of the farm and he was more than happy to take all the time needed to answer the many questions we had. Excellent communication from both Dan and Ashley before and during our stay. The morning of our departure, we all agreed that we need to try and make Wegmueller Farm Stay a yearly event for our families.

This was a dream vacation! We had two families staying at the farm house and had such a wonderful time! There was plenty of space for everyone the house was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully updated. We had amazing experiences on the farm including a farm tour from Dan, feeding baby calves (one had been born our first day there and we got to name it), helping the milk the older cows, meeting the horses and donkeys and more! There is also plenty to do in the town hiking, shopping, tours and tasting of lots of beverages, cheese tours. We would recommend this airbnb to anyone going to Wisconsin or looking to get away. We decided to come back next year for sure!

Our stay at Dan & Ashley’s place, The Dairy at the Wegmueller Farm, was spectacular. Upon arrival the view of the farm was breathtaking. We were delighted to have kind words and treats authentic to Wisconsin nicely arranged in a basket on the counter. Dan & Ashley took us on a tour of the farm. Bottle feeding the calves, milking Frankie and learning the history of the land made us feel apart of the farm. My desire to enjoy prepared food led to an awesome breakfast and dinner with instructions to go from the oven to the table. My life these days is quite busy. Thank you Dan and Ashley for allowing me to slowdown and enjoy everything your farm retreat as to offer.. ❤️

This farm is by far the best stay I've had! As a lover of animals, it was such a lovely experience seeing and interacting with the cows, dogs, and cat. My teammates and I even got to milk a cow and bottle feed the calves! Dan and Ashley are so welcoming and truly have a special place to share.

From the moment we arrived we knew this would be a special place. We were greeted by Zoe (one of the two dogs) and a few welcoming barks from Bruno. The home was clean and well stocked including some refrigerated items like condiments, and there was a thoughtful welcome basket with some local products for us to try and enjoy. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us and then some. Our favorite part was learning about the dairy farm. Dan and Ashley and their intern gave us a tour of the farm and took time to answer all of our questions. They are great with guests of all ages (our ages ranged from 2 to 85.) Their farm really is a labor of love and we will recommend this to friends and hope to make return visits ourselves.

TL; DR: Bring everyone you know here for a weekend of relaxation, hospitality, and education that's a once-in-a-lifetime experience! To be honest, my parents are farm people; I am not--or so I thought. I reserved the Dairy at Wegmeuller after a neighbor recommended it as a gift to my country-loving parents, with the expectation that my young kids would get a kick out of farm life while I merely survived. AND I AM FOREVER CHANGED. Ashley and Dan were extremely communicative during the booking and preparation stages, and upon doing some homework, I learned that Monroe is a short drive (just over 2 hours ) from Chicago and a totally different area than our over-explored Milwaukee. In fact, it's just 25 minutes from New Glarus, home of charming Swiss stuff galore and, yes, New Glarus Brewing--maker of Spotted Cow. Upon arrival, we were blown away by the cleanliness of the house and the uber-thoughtful (and tasty) local treats our hosts left. The amount of bath products and towels bordered on insane, and the mattress in the master bedroom was the most comfortable bed I've slept in forever. But enough about the house; let's talk about the FARM. Oh. My. Dairy. Ashley and Dan are kind, savvy, brilliant business owners who walked me and my family (ages 4 to 71) through their business, allowing us to hand-milk cows, assist with calf feeding, and explaining the industry's many challenges and rewards. It was truly an honor to spend time with them on their family grounds and get to partake in the farm's activities--they even met us (again) on Labor Day to let my kids milk the cows instead of taking a rare morning off. Their commitment to quality and education is something to be commended, and I am so glad that I am my children got to witness it first-hand. Let me tell you, I will NEVER purchase dairy products the same way again, and I cannot wait to return in the near future. I am so appreciative to have met such incredible people doing such incredible work in the most gorgeous setting. Also, my kids have been afraid of dogs foverer, but Zoe and Bruno the Farm Dogs cured them forever, and now we might have to get one. Or maybe suburb cow, if that's a thing?

Earl’s Retreat House is a charming remodeled 1930s Bungalow that has been updated and perfect as an alternative to staying in a hotel in Eastern Jo Daviess County. Teresa is a responsive host and she provides plenty of information about the area. One place we love for pizza is JJ & Freddie’s! Delicious food and great service!

Teresa's place is a tastefully renovated craftman bungalow on a quiet street. Much of the original charm has been preserved. This home is well maintained and clean. Very comfy! Location is very convenient to area scenic sites. Great value!

Checkin was super easy and Teresa left very helpful information and resources about and for the house and local communities. Stockton is a very nice little town in the middle of beautiful country. We stayed here for a little fishing trip in and around the Apple River Canyon State Park area and it was an absolutely perfect location.
