Josh is a wonderful host who is very responsive via text. It was wonderful to have the key easily accessible via a lock box and it was reassuring to have a parking pass for the street. Everything was brand new when we were there (the drawers and sofas etc.) and it was great to have an air mattress to use in the living room. He is very accommodating and I'd recommend this place for anyone who wants to visit Charlestown and/or Harper'a Ferry area.

My partner and I decided to get away to Charles Town West Virginia for the 3-day President's day weekend. We were greeted with hugs from Olga and Hank. They showed us to our room which had a refrigerator, full sized bed, fancy cookies and water. The hot tub and sauna out back were amazing and we utilized it every day we were there. Each morning we awakened to a full, home cooked breakfast. They made us feel like we were at home and they were our family. I would highly recommend this Airbnb to everyone!

As soon as we parked our vehicle, our host Olga greeted us, with keys in hand. She directed us to the entrance of the home. She gave us a tour of our wonderful accommodations. She made us feel right at home, showing us parts of the house we would have access to during our stay. What a beautiful home to spend our get away in Charles Town, WV. After we settled in, Olga provided us with recommendations of local restaurants and attractions. We were close enough to town to walk to a restaurant, and after eating we walked around town to take in the sights. Each morning, Olga and her husband Hank prepared the most delicious breakfast. We all sat down together as we ate; great conversation and food. Who could ask for anything more? In the evening, we enjoyed the jacuzzi and sauna. It was so relaxing and romantic. Even though both Olga and Hank were busy, they were extraordinarily accommodating and made us feel welcome the entire stay!

We had a relaxing and delightful stay in this charming home. The gardens were beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. The whole experience felt so surreal and special making it a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Despite our last minute booking, Olga and Henk were ready to receive us with incredible hospitality. Their delightful company, meaningful conversation, and delicious breakfast sent us on our way rejuvenated and joy filled.

Olga and Henk were exceptional hosts! They are warm and welcoming and made me feel right at home from the get go! They were always asking how they could be of service. In addition they are Both excellent conversationalist genuinely interested in others and other points of view. The home and grounds were simply amazing! The pictures do not do them justice. The home is warm and richly decorated. The bedroom and bathroom were excellent. The grounds are lush and park like hidden from the street were simply amazing. I highly recommend Olga and Henk's home! I felt like we've been friends for years. Everything was perfect. I love to tour old historical homes when I travel and this was better! You can actually live it. They've collected museum quality decorations. I'm so glad I came at Christmas time and got to see all that extra finery! The breakfast was superb and the private yoga lesson was just what I needed before a long day of driving. I will definitely stay again!

Immaculately clean, centrally located apartment that would be perfect for a weekend of exploring Harper's Ferry / Charles Town. Highly recommended.

This was our first Airbnb experience and it was great!! The studio was as described and very nicely appointed. The neighborhood was very quiet and the location is perfect for exploring the local Casino, Harpers Ferry, Shepardstown areas. Butch was very welcoming and had a bunch of information available for the surrounding areas (The Visitor book had some great reviews for places to see and eat as well). If we are ever in the area again I would gladly stay here again.

Lovely garage apartment, completely separate from the main house. The host was very helpful, perfectly located for us to stay for our holiday party. Very comfy bed and major bonus points for clearing the steps, driveway AND my car from the minor snow that popped up over night.

Butch was terrific. He was very accommodating of my awkward meeting schedule for work. He even made time to chat with me a bit when I arrived, despite it being well into the evening. Butch has put a lot of time and thought into making a true home away from home. He greeted us promptly, gave us a tour of the immaculately clean and cozy space, made recommendations for food and activities, and then accommodated our almost immediate request for a second night. If we are ever in the area again, we know where we'll be staying.

You couldnt ask for a nicer place or a nicer host. Charles was very welcoming and knowledgeable of the area. The room was beautiful and made me feel right at home. It is in a perfect area as well. 3 minutes to the casino and only 15 mins or less to historic Harper's Ferry. I wish we didn't have to leave!

This is my second time staying here and it was just as good as the first. I couldn't recommend it enough.

We had a wonderful stay. The apartment had it's own parking, which made it feel like we were coming home. Everything was clean and comfortable. Having a keurig to wake up to was just like being at home. Butch made sure we had everything we needed and even greeted us at 1:30 am when we arrived. We moved away from the area a year ago and staying with family is confined, so finding a place that made us feel like we were home was pleasant surprise. I am sure we will be back many many times. Hosts were great to work with, available throughout our stay to make everything easy! House is beautiful and relaxing, easy walk to downtown Charles Town where we enjoyed Mad Monks coffeehouse and a delicious dinner at the Mediterranean Cafe before heading to nearby Shepherdstown for the annual summer Contemporary American Theater Festival. The photos of this home do not do justice to how beautifully decorated and maintained it is. It is much more than a convenient place to sleep while visiting the area: this house is a worthwhile destination in itself. You will enjoy looking at the artwork, quirky furniture and vintage treasures decorating each room, appreciate the thoughtfulness of the toiletries cupboard in case anyone forgot an essential item, and luxuriate in the large amount of space (more than ample for 5 of us) including front and back porches and a large yard. This was my ideal Airbnb experience - hassle free interactions with the host, and the house being even better than anticipated.

This house was perfect for our small family Thanksgiving! The house was clean and spare, but well-decorated enough to be homey. All the essentials were there, which made it very easy to settle in. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are super comfortable.

We were blessed with a memorable,family long weekend, at this beautiful home! It felt like we were staying in an Art Gallery, fully equipped with the comforts of home! The Artist Home is close enough to restraunts and the downtown area but far enough way from the downtown traffic noise.

A huge, very nicely appointed, close to Main Street of Charles Town house. Great for a romantic time, family time, or, as we used it, temporary quarters on a government change of station. Quick and easy communication, and the same for parking. An amazing master bathroom!!! All very easy and relaxing. A mite cold, but only because the pellet stove wasn't functioning and we were careful with thermostat. Did I say the place is huge?!! Beautiful historic neighborhood a few blocks from a few shops and places to eat. Enjoy the geological specimens.

Emma has a lovely, cozy cabin right across the road from the river. Extremely clean and well-furnished, with lots of nice touches (coffee and champagne!), and a short drive from Harper's Ferry and Shepherdstown. Highly recommended for a weekend getaway!

A great weekend getaway!

I loved this cozy private cabin. Emma was great in communicating with us. Great suggestions for restaurants and entertainment around the town. The champagne with the entire cabin vibe was the touch of my romantic getaway. We will be back.

Our expectations were high but Emma's house still surpassed them. The setting is quiet and both the house and the nearby lake are breath-taking. We also fully used and enjoyed Emma's eating and hiking advice! We are very, very thankful!

This cabin is amazing - beautiful setting and excellent rustic space. We were there in early spring when it was still chilly, but the access to the river on the summer would be ideal for cooling off! The cabin itself is rustic, in the best possible way - it truly is a log cabin, and it's very cozy for a couple to spend a weekend or more.

The stay was as expected, a nice get-away. Emma had a list of some great things to do in this area and we had a lot of fun!

We had a wonderful first airbnb experience at Marlene's home. You enter through the front foyer, walk up the stairs, and the room is on the left at the top of the stairs. Marlene has added small touches like 2 different types of pillows, 2 robes, extra toiletries, electric candles, Keurig coffemaker with 2 mugs, and a small refrigerator. To make room for the tv and fridge, there is not a dresser, but there is a closet -- keep that in mind when packing and it won't be a problem. We used the luggage rack and worked out of our suitcase. My husband and I were in town for a track event at Summit Point, and the house was well located for that purpose. Because of our early mornings and getting home late after dinner and wanting to go right to bed, we didn't get to spend time with Marlene and her family. But Marlene has a bubbly, down-to-earth personality (even in the early morning!) and really wants her guests to be comfortable. I hope we get to chat with her more on a return visit. The home is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood with many large homes. Easy access to 340, Charles Town, and Summit Point.

I was working in Charles Town for two days, and this location was an ideal commute - 10 min door to door. You would need a car to get around though. The bedroom and adjoining room were very comfortable and warm. Marlene was great as she provided some fruit and breakfast items in the fridge. Would definitely stay again if back in the area.

Marlene is not only warm and welcoming, but her attention to detail and hospitality matches no other. Her place is even better in person and every need is well thought out with plenty of towels, (new) toothpaste, extra (new) toothbrushes, cream, soap, mini fridge filled with bottled water and a fresh fruit bowl, etc.! Marlene is a very warm, welcoming hostess. The house is very comfortable, pleasantly furnished and private. The room is actually a suite spanning the entire side of the house with a private bath, sitting room with refrigerator and coffe, the bedding is extremely comfortable and the house and suite are well appointed. The house is sited within a neighborhood of expensive homes on large lots and the surrounding views are beautiful. It is within just 3-4 minutes of the casino and town. If you're planning to watch the ponies, wrestle with a one-armed bandit, eat at one of the restaurants or listen to a concert, Marlene's home is a wonderful place to stay and relax. Strongly recommend!!

Marlene was a wonderful host and takes joy in sharing her space with others. The suite was private, and very comfortable. She had it stocked with extra toiletries, food, water, and COFFEE. With a separate seating/lounge area, bathroom, and bedroom space, it was more spacious than a hotel and much more personal. Marlene had breakfast for me both mornings and we had wonderful conversation. I truly felt like I was staying with family and would love to return if the opportunity arises.

It was our first airbnb experience and it was great! The room is excellent, comfortable, clean and includes a refrigerator and microwave. We just finished our third stay with Marlene and family and had another wonderful experience. The suite (bedroom, bathroom with two sinks, and sitting area) provides ample room to spread out. The bed is very comfortable, and the towels are soft. Marlene provides so many nice touches and very genuinely wants her guests to feel at home. Our only regret is that we don't get to spend enough time with Marlene when we visit because we spend all day at the Summit Point race track!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The listing was accurate except for the fact that the couch is too small to sleep two people, which is why we were happy we brought an air mattress to accommodate our group of 4.

For a stay in Charles Town, this place works great. Location is downtown and you can walk to various restaurants and a GREAT Irish pub, Paddy's. Have a DD if you want to go to the casino, Uber isn't in WV (found out the hard way). You can walk to a hotel and grab a shuttle from there; it's about a .6 mile walk. Josh still has some work to do for the apt.; be sure to communicate re: parking, lockbox. Could have been a little cleaner, but for the price and memories, it was a great place to stay.

Josh was responsive to every message, text and phone call. The apartment is clean overall, close to lots of restuarants, shops and things in Charles Town and close to Harpers Ferry. Easy to get into and easy to access, safe and everything you could need! Thanks for everything Josh.

We were the first Airbnb customers for Josh and things were not quite ready. I hope that Josh uses this as a learning experience and improves the apartment. To his credit Josh was very responsive to our requests. I think that he will make the necessary adjustments to make the space more livable.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay at the Oldeststone Farm very much. It's such a unique place, and it's close to Harper's Ferry. John is a great host, very relaxed and generous with his time. The room where we slept was extemely comfortable.

The farm house is very rustic and charming!! The bedrooms are large and the decorative details add style & class to the country feel of the property. It is still a farm, so expect mud during rainy weekends & bugs in addition to all the cuteness that farm animals can bring to your weekend. Also, John is a great host; very welcoming, kind, and helpful. We would come to stay again in the future! Close enough to Harper's Ferry and other WV destinations.

If you're looking for a visceral country escape, John's farm is the place. Coming from Washington, DC with a toddler, we wanted to take advantage of the outdoor space and the proximity to animals, and we were not disappointed. Caretakers Ashli and Nate welcomed us like we were family and were very generous with their company, sharing their meals, showing us the baby animals, telling us local lore, and making suggestions for things to do in the area. Our daughter was in heaven getting to see the pigs (and their babies), the peacocks, the chickens and chicks, the cats (and their kittens), and the cows--and all the other animals. The house is wonderfully ancient (Nate showed us a cannonball from the Civil War that had been stuck in the walls) and has a large, communal dining table by the original hearths. Plenty of pans and a good gas stove for cooking--and fresh eggs! As it's an old house there is a musty smell on the main floor, though not in the bedrooms, which are on the second floor. The bedrooms have been decorated with a lovely, shabby-chic style, and the beds are incredibly comfortable and decadent. Flickering candles in the windows light the house at night for a romantic and somewhat spooky ambiance. We really enjoyed eating dinner outside our first night and listening to the wild sounds of the farm (if you don't know what a peacock call sounds like, you will). The "house" pig, Lilah, kind of stole our hearts. If you prefer to spend time on your own you can, but if you like meeting people the caretakers are a real treat. As it's a farm just be prepared that there will be dirt, big dogs, bugs, roosters crowing early in the morning, and animals galore. As long as you're expecting that, you'll have a magnificent time.

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend at Oldeststone Farm. My husband and I loved hanging out with all of the animals. And the old farmhouse is charming. The beds are very comfortable. The caretakers are friendly and enjoyable to chat with.

This was an amazing bachelorette weekend! John and Nate were incredibly accommodating, even offering their rooms as places to stay if we chose not to use the bunk house. As per our request, a 120 foot slip and slide was set up in the front yard which provided hours of amazing entertainment and exceeded our expectations. There were kittens, calves, a puppy on the farm as well as piglets that were born the day we were leaving! Nate took us on a haunted house tour of a home on the property which was a ton of fun and recommended the local line dancing bar for a memorable night out. Fresh eggs were provided in the morning as well as the most amazing coffee we've ever had. Wonderful and accommodating hosts, astounding property, and an atmosphere unlike any other made for an unforgettable weekend away. We will most definitely be back in the future!

From the time we pulled into this magical farm we were greeted with warmth and friendship. The house is a beautiful old farmhouse with rustic charm that adds to the whole experience. Nate and John were wonderfull host that made us feel right at home and we enjoyed getting to them very much. I love the fact that you can have the run of the kitchen if you love to cook! This little farm has wonders in every coroner with all the animals. It truly is a magical farm and we left feeling part of it and planning our next visit! Than you so much John and Nate! P.S. Nate's coffee is to die for!!!

Our family enjoyed our stay at John's. It was fun to be greeted by friendly dogs and see all the array of animals including white peacocks...and to be woken up by their noises. Our bedroom was tastefully furnished and decorated...but we most of all appreciated the extremely comfortable bed...and the unique nature of bathing in a copper bath! The surrounding countryside is beautiful. Although John was obviously busy he took time to make good restaurant recommendations, which was great.

The cabin was exactly as beautiful as it was in the pictures. It was like a home away from home. Billy had a list of directions that made the stay easier for my girlfriend and I. We enjoyed our little gateway.

The Dome Home was a beautiful, cozy experience. The kitchen was very well stocked, the wrap-around porch was a great way to enjoy the wintry sun, and the beds were comfortable (even the spare mattresses for throwing on the floor). The living room was just a lovely place to relax with a book or board game on all the comfy couches. Billy and his caretaker were both very responsive and helpful. As others have mentioned, the house is definitely on the '70s side, with some dated furnishings and so on. For us this was no problem and we really enjoyed the aesthetics of the house, however there was one plumbing problem (a backdrafting odor) that was unpleasant for a few hours. Billy is working on fixing this problem and it only occurs rarely.

Billy's dome was great! The s/o and I spent three days and four nights in the dome and it was a wonderful experience. A very unique space with an open floor plan and high ceilings. We loved being able to cook every night and having a fire going in the wood burning stove. We felt very comfortable and relaxed throughout our entire stay. Billy was very communicative and answered every question I had. He was even kind enough to gift us with a bottle of wine for our weekend! Thank you, Billy, for a great time. I will be sure to keep the dome in mind for future weekend getaways.

The area is great. Nearby Wineries in Virginia are unique. The house has a fun floor plan and the master tub is great. We enjoyed the fire place and being in the woods. It was quiet and peaceful. The house needs some TLC and you can hear everything upstairs as there is no door.

The Dome was as advertised. The instructions left by our caretaker Dawn were very easy to follow and she was kind enough to walk around and point out a few additional items of note around the home. We didn't end up spending much time in the Dome but it was easy to access and everything was as Billy described. It was very easy to communicate with Dawn and Billy for everything we needed and it was nice knowing that she was literally across the street if we had any questions.

Our group loved staying at the dome! The fireplace was nice and the kitchen was large. There were plenty of beds to accommodate a large group.

Of all of the airbnb sites I have stayed, this is my favorite. The house is grand but not fussy, which I like, with high ceilings and lots of light. Sue is exactly what you'd want in a host--attentive and welcoming but also easy-going. And if you are lucky enough to be there on a day when she's able to offer breakfast (I understand that isn't always the case), it will be delicious. The English muffin with Amish butter was so good I had two.

Sue was a superb, warm, and hospitable host. It was very easy to communicate with her, and she gave clear and helpful directions prior to our arrival. The house was a beautiful historic home, and the suite upstairs was very well-heated and comfortable. Sue also made sure that a full-size bed was moved into the suite in order to accommodate us. She cooked a delicious breakfast for my family the next day. We really enjoyed the meal that she served us. It was the first time my family and I were in the area, and she gave us information about places to visit. I'm glad we ended up going to Brunswick and Harper's Ferry as she recommended! I enjoyed our stay in every aspect and would certainly love to visit Charles Town again.

Sue's house is such a wonderful place to stay! The room is really cozy and I especially love the spacious bathroom! Charles Town is a friendly and quiet little town but can still find really good restaurant and nice shops within walking distance. My wife, son, and I stayed four nights. As this was my first experience of Airbnb style, I was worried about if we can relax to stay or not. No problem! The house was located in a beautiful old town. It is far from IAD airport, but we enjoyed sightseeing, restaurant and supermarket, thanks to my friend who drove us. The Harper’s Ferry is close, DC is two hours ride of train and subway. The rooms are spacious and have a good old taste. In a kitchen, there are many kinds of spices, teas, knives. Appliances and fixtures are nice, only I must turn the door knob carefully. In conclusion, I found Airbnb is more interesting than hotels.

We felt really comfortable staying in Sue's home. The bedroom was massive with very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also very roomy. We found Sue to be a very interesting person who we really enjoyed talking with.

Our bed was wonderful and enjoyed the large bathroom. Having use of the kitchen refrig was a plus. We will be back next racing season. Thanks for a great visit.

I came with a group of ten guys for a weekend long bachelor party and we had a blast. The house is conveniently located down the street from the River Riders adventure spot and we were able to walk to go on a tubing trip and walk right back to the house afterwards. The house had great amenities and offered a lot of value for the amount we paid for the weekend. Laura and Renzo were great and friendly, instructions for cleanup were easy to understand and no one had any complaints. A stay to remember

The property is managed as an attachment of the River Riders down the road, so check-in is handled up at the office, and includes a formal rental agreement and security deposit. Laura was great to work with. The house was clean, provided plenty of towels, bedding and dishes. The hot tub was cleaned, prepared, and warm. Parking up at River Riders was ample and within sight of the house. I didn't have any issues with the house, and found everything I needed for the weekend provided, with clear instructions on how to leave the unit at the end of the stay.

Laura was a great host. The house was just as described and pictured. She answered questions quickly and the check-in and check-out process were all clear. We loved having the hot tub and rockers on the front porch! Thanks for a great weekend!

We went for a long weekend trip to see Harpers Ferry and had a wonderful time! The inn was spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable! The check-in process was a breeze and Renzo was helpful and polite. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Harpers Ferry.

It was a fantastic experience, the house was lovely, and the host awesome.
