Places to stay in Long Lake

Places to stay in Long Lake
This is a private room and bath with queen bed and attached bunk room and small sitting area, with a private entrance. Wonderful views overlooking Long Lake. It is right on the lake, with swimming, dock, canoes, and firepit, and picnic table, grill and hot tub available for guests. There is wifi and cell phone service. The Northville-Lake Placid trailhead is 3/4 miles away.
The space is suitable for children with supervision on the spiral stairway. There is no smoking in the room, and no pets. There is a thermostat for electric heat.
There are no near neighbors, we are surrounded by the woods of the Adirondack Mountains
  • This is a fabulous place and we had a fantastic experience. We would stay here again and again.

  • We had a short but lovely stay at Jackie's house! Its location is beautiful! We loved the bed that looked out to the forest and the lake. In the early morning we enjoyed the mist iver the lake, the sun lighting up the trees at the other side and the absolute quietness. We had a great stay!

  • This is a great place--beautiful location right on the water; easy access to town (Long Lake); super clean; it's like a tree house way up in the sky!

    Andy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Your own tree house style apartment overlooking the lake! It felt like camping but much more comfortable. The spiral staircase is no joke so I wouldn't recommend this place for people with mobility issues or with small children. We had everything we needed for our short night stay and I would come and stay here again.

  • A beautifully designed and located space to stay while enjoying the region & the outside amenities that Jackie has to offer. It also happens to be located just down the road from the Northville Placid Trail leading from Long Lake to Lake Placid - very convenient overnight/respite stay for the weary hiker. Loved it!

    Janet2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay and looking forward to going back!

    Michael2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Jackie’s place! A beautiful location and a very cozy feel to it. The place was very clean!

    Jamie2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie’s place was perfect! Beautiful cozy place right on the lake that was perfect for a couple day getaway! Everything was spot on or better than posted!

Guest cottage at lakefront 1930's Adirondack camp. Updated with Adk charm. Beautiful lake and mountain views. The perfect cozy get away. Swim, paddle, fish, right from our shoreline. Enjoy night time camp fires on the beach. Canoe, kayak, tubes and floats available. Bringing your boat? No charge for dock space. Close to several golf courses and hiking trails.
  • The cottage is well located, one mile from the village, right on the lake. Very well equipped for a holiday, with everything one needs, high quality linens, kitchen equipment, power shower, and comfortably furnished. No hesitation in recommending Jacqueline as a host.

    Catherine2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay Very nice and clean. Great property right on the lake. Beautiful views. Host is very nice and has a very sweet dog. We have always loved visiting Long Lake.

  • A wonderful Adirondack retreat!

    Colin2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The lodging is a guest house in the main property. It is a comfortable one bedroom and perfect for a short visit. Jacqueline was very responsive on email on any questions. 5 min drive to the little town. Clean and comfortable stay on the lake.

    Kanika2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • It is a beautiful spot on a beautiful lake. The cottage was spotless with some great pieces of early 1900 century ADK but with all the modern features you need in a lake cottage. The space is perfect for two people. The front porch afforded a great spot for a small dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed both the inside and outside anementies. The dock(s) were fantastic and exactly what we hoped for. You can dock the boat, take a swim or just relax in a lawn chair. What added to this great 4th of July trip was the great weather and fabulous 4th of July fireworks in Long Lake which we got to watch from the boat! Highly recommend!! Great spot in Long Lake.

  • Perfect for a couple, great location, clean and comfortable.

    Biagio2018-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jacqueline was a fantastic host. She's super attentive and even went out of her way to provide all the fixings for a fire down by the water. Access to a canoe, kayaks and paddle boat made our trip even more enjoyable. The space is perfect for 2 people and was incredibly clean and in a perfect location to local attractions and surrounding lakes. I can't wait to go back!

    Paul2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Jacqueline was wonderful. She greeted us on our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. She gave us a lot of great advice. The place was perfect for my husband and I. It was immaculate and had more then we needed. There were canoes and a kayak to use. A large deck with seating on the water. We would love to go back one day.

    Long Lake, NY, United States

Rustic waterfront 3-4 bedroom home sleeps up to 8, on tranquil 14 acre motor-free pond in town of Long Lake. 2nd floor master bedroom suite & sitting area. Nearby hiking trails; access to Lake Eaton by short walk or drive; about a mile walk or drive to Long Lake's amazing public waterfront; one mile to village center. Easy access for persons with limited mobility. TV for DVDs, VCR (no cable). Verizon 4G and landline US phone service. Internet via your cell phone or free WiFi at town library.
Ample parking; enough room for boat and trailer (for use in nearby lakes -- no motorboats in the pond). Swim, kayak or canoe in the pond (bring your own kayak/canoe). See the end of this section for details on swimming in the pond. Fire pit down by pond. Books, puzzles, and games in the den. The living room has DVDs for use with the TV. There is a basic drip coffee maker. It is not a Keurig (several people have asked). While we try to have filters there, I cannot guarantee they will be there, so you may want to bring your own. You will need to bring your own coffee. There is a basic propane grill on the deck. I ask our caretaker to try to keep the propane tank filled, and he tries to do so, but I cannot guarantee beyond doubt that it will be filled. Swimming in the pond (at your own risk of course) is nice. Considerations: - the pond water is clear and beautiful - the entrance from the shore is muddy (the water itself is clear, but the bottom at the shore is muddy) - there is a saggy but functional wooden walk that stretches from the shore out into the pond about 20 feet (distance is a guess) to a small platform perpendicular to the walk - a big rock abuts the platform on the platform's far side from the shore - you can see these things in one of the pictures - there is a wooden ladder near where the walk meets the platform that you can use to get into the water (thus avoiding mud); I'm guessing the water is waist-deep at that point - or you can jump off the rock - (or enter the pond from the shore if you don't mind the mud or have water shoes/sandals)
The house is on a dirt road and is quite private. It is separated from neighbors on either side by more than 250 feet of thick woods - you will not see other people from the property nor will you be seen. There is occasional road noise from lightly traveled Route 30, which is on the other side of the dirt road, separated from the house by 215+ feet of distance and by a few rows of trees. One guest remarked that he heard a lot of truck brakes from the road, but also said that it was not a concern to him.
  • We had a very enjoyable stay. Great location with many hikes and activities within short driving distance. The back deck with access to a pond was enjoyed by all. The firepit provides beautiful views of a peaceful pond with easy access to a pier for fishing and kayaking. Overall great location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Will2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying here with friends. We went in late September when the weather was chilly at night and really enjoyed the fire pit. The place was clean, quite and as described. Family recommended.

    Frank2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay for a weekend! Everything as advertised in the description.

  • The pictures don't do this home justice...

    BillyandGena2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Place was very clean! The place looks better in person than it does in the pictures. Don was very accommodating as well with letting us check in early. Only thing is that the road noise is quite loud.

    Alayna2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect to see a location that meets or exceeds all of the advertised claims. The 5 friends that we rented the facility for were thrilled with the location, the cleanliness and the peaceful environment. They came from Virginia, Texas and Louisiana.....fell in love with the Adirondacks and left talking about a future return.

    Long Lake, NY, United States

Located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains in Long Lake, NY. Camp has magnificent views of southern end of lake from the newly built front deck and from inside! It is 1 mile to the town center where there is a public beach with restrooms, restaurants, shopping, churches, seaplane rides, marina, state boat launch and town dock. The house has two bedrooms, 1 with a queen size bed and 1 with a double. There is an open living room and kitchen with dining space.
House is located on Emerson Road, which is a side dirt road which stems off Route 30 and comes back out to it. There are 3 residential homes on Emerson Road. The house sits on a hill and overlooks a marshy area where lots of birds and wild life can be seen. There is some highway noise, but the view, house and location make up for that. We rent weekends with a 2 night minimum, weekly, bi or tri weekly or a month or more. . .
Long Lake has several restaurants, a pizza place, a local craft brewery, Stewarts, public library, churches and post office. It is a very special place in the heart of the Adirondacks and the people are what make this town so special. In addition, nearby you will find Buttermilk Falls, hiking trails, fishing, swimming and almost anything that a lake community should have.
  • Very clean , nice place and Laura goes above and beyond for her guest and she is very helpful and the location is wonderful ... my boyfriend can’t wait to go back we would give more than 5 stars if we could

    Lisa2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great overall, as promised and described. Very convenient for our Central Adirondacks activities!

    Tom2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • As advertised, the cabin is quite small, but very clean and exactly what you would need for an Adirondack weekend! The fire pit is great and you have an awesome view of the stars from the front deck. They even provided a window fan in the Master bedroom! My only suggestion would be to bring extra bath towels/wash clothes and possibly an extra blanket if you are staying in late summer or fall. This place is adorable...and the price is right!

    Pamela2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is true to it’s pictures. Beautiful view, close to shopping and restaurants and clean. It has a wonderful deck for viewing the lake, reading or lingering over a cup of coffee. There is a nice little area to have a fire as well. Will definitely book it again. Laura is very friendly and quick to respond to any questions.

    Carolyn2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The view was as magnificent as it was described to be. The cabin was fresh and clean upon our arrival. All in all a comfortable, pleasant and affordable place to stay while in Long Lake.

    Ronda2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s cabin provides a clean sturdy budget accommodation complete with a porch for viewing sunsets and listening to loons. The location is excellent within short drives for a diverse array of hikes and kayak/canoe trips, including designated wilderness areas. The cabin is pest proof with no signs of mice and the newer windows with good screens keep the bugs at bay. The kitchen is set up for some very basic cooking for two or three people. Check with the host beforehand about any specific kitchen tools you may need, as I think Laura and her husband are still equipping this new listing. Self-check-in with a lockbox was easy and Laura, who we did not personally meet, responds quickly to questions. The cabin provides lots of privacy. Yes, you hear road noise but it’s not an issue. There is only one neighbor that you might hear and they’re pretty quiet. From the porch, you don’t see any neighbors. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future.

30 minutes from Lake Placid! 10 minutes from Tupper Lake's famous Wild Center! Amazing quiet location to relax!
  • I had a wonderful stay on the lake. What a peaceful spot, and the apartment is very comfortable. It's a walk back in time, with the furniture and most everything in the apartment from the 70s or so. It's not a bad thing, really - I really liked the charm! Heating took a bit to figure out since the temperature is set on the forced hot water baseboard registers themselves. But the heat works well, and it's a very functional apartment. I'll be staying again!

    Erik2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! We would stay here again!

    Tyler2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at Brians place. We came in Mid-February and the house had a beautiful view of the snowy lake. It's in great proximity to lots of cross country skiing and snow shoeing. It's also perfect if you want a cozy cabin vibe (which we did). Overall the house really could use a deep clean, but we were still comfortable. Thanks again!!

    Miranda2020-02-17T00:00:00Z

  • Sparkling clean, comfortable and fully equipped two bedroom apartment in an ideal location for exploring the Adirondacks. The hamlet of Long Lake appeals more to us than bigger busier towns like Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, but from here, great hikes and other outdoor adventures are only minutes away.

  • Rosi and Tim are great hosts!! The place is spotless And thoughtfully curated. For me the cabin was really a perfect restorative get away for yoga, Kayaking and hiking. Great spot to stargaze The night sky on the deck and super sweet paddling Simon pond. Highly recommend - I’ve enjoyed my stay here!

    Luke2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful and modest location. It's a very clean, organized and tastefully rustic cabin with a perfect view sitting over the lake. Although our goal is to stay in as many locations throughout the ADKs, it will be hard to pass this place up. It has everything you need. The outdoor shower is a great touch. Neighbors are friendly. View of the lake and access is awesome. We strung hammocks on the trees over the river., made a fire.... relaxed, did a puzzle, bbq'ed, made hot toddies. Visited the market in town for brunch, and the local brewery - Raquette River Brewing was AWESOME. How we fit everything we did in, in 2 days is beyond me. We will hopefully be back!

    Allie2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay at Stone's Throw! If you need a break from the city... This is the spot! Take the canoe on the lake, enjoy the silence. Keep in mind there's only an outdoor shower. (With hot water)

    Mandy2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful and the perfect spot to relax and reconnect with nature. This private getaway has everything you need and more. We will be back for sure!

    Carla2019-09-22T00:00:00Z

  • Brian was awesome quick to respond and the place was very nice especially being right on the pond with a great view would definitely return for another stay

  • Cozy feel of staying in a cabin. We decided to try and book a place last minute...thankfully this became available. Great directions. Beautiful view of the water and serene location. (If you’re a light sleeper you may want to bring ear plugs as you can hear noise in the upstairs apartment.) Overall, great value for the place!

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brian’s place is a nice little spot on Little Wolf Pond. It was a bit cold inside but that was to be expected since it’s winter time. Living space was clean and neat with nice little wall hangings and It’s conveniently located a few minutes from town.

    Timothy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot and love the cabin feel open to pets. Hope to visit again!

    Kimberly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, nice and cozy. Within driving distance of some great hiking and some of the more well known towns in the area like Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. We would absolutely come back!

    Victor2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spartan basement-of-a-garage kitchenless studio with the rustic Adirondack feel you'd expect for that kind of set-up. It is a great location if you plan on recreating in the western side of the High Peaks but prefer to sleep indoors and be near water. Since I was doing some winter mountaineering, it was ideal. A nice feature for the outdoorsy was the powerful fan-driven electric heater, which (though a little noisy at night) dried my wet clothes out in no time and kept the place nice and warm. Check in was easy. Parking spaces were thoughtfully plowed out. Very good value.

    Paul-William2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Brian’s place while winter hiking the 46ers. The location was peaceful and quiet, and the apartment was just what we were hoping for: cozy, warm, and inviting. My partner and I both agreed that if we weren’t camping, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here in the future. Thank you for your hospitality.

  • You get exactly what you see. Lake in the back is beautiful. We enjoyed the fire pit and grilling out back. The kitchen was nice and almost(no coffee) had everything you needed to cook. Plenty of space for just a party of 6. If you go for a hike around the area I recommend Indian Head vista. It’s a little over an hour from the house but worth it.

  • Check In was quick and easy. Tricia was very easily accessible. We loved the close proximity to town, we were able to grab our groceries and dinner within walking distance. The lake was beautiful. Watching the planes take off turned out to be quite entertaining. I would recommend this place to other friends and family.

    Jess2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Doug and Tricia's home on Long Lake was very spacious and had everything we needed to enjoy our family fall getaway. Their home was very clean, comfortable beds, plenty of towels and everything we needed in the kitchen. We happened to have a beautiful weekend to do plenty of swimming, kayaking and fishing but the home would be perfect if we had to spend anytime indoors.

  • The “Heart of it All” was the perfect Adirondack cabin for our family getaway. The location was perfect: close to town for a morning walk or a few groceries, short drive to hiking trails and the Wild Center, and several restaurants. The view of the lake from the cabin is breathtaking, the deck overlooking the lake is peaceful, there is plenty of outdoor space with a fire pit, grill and table and chairs. We brought our kayaks and were able to put them in the water from the cabin’s beach. And the cabin itself is beautifully decorated with an Adirondack theme. The living room is spacious with enough comfy seating for the family to relax and read or enjoy a movie. We found everything we needed to enjoy ourselves both within the cabin and grounds, and the surrounding area. We were especially grateful to be able to bring our dog, and have a visit from our grand dog. We will definitely return to stay at “Heart of it All” in the future.

    Doreen2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Overall we had a great experience. The view from the cabin was beautiful, and it came with everything we needed. Tricia was very fast on the correspondence, and was a great host. We didn't realize we were going to be so close to the main road, but on the otherhand, it made it very convenient to walk to town for groceries, the beach, and ice cream.

    Sara2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • There is not one thing disappointing about this place. These hosts are super attentive to everything you might want or need. The place is very clean, decorated fantastically for the Adirondack experience, and it has a really nice boat dock. The deck on the water is soooo nice to sit and look at the beautiful scenery. Like someone else mentioned, the place is just like their photos (maybe a bit nicer). Super convenient to town restaurants and shops. I can’t say enough about it. Four of us stayed a week and we were not really ready to go home yet. We will definitely try to book this again!! Oh, and I caught the biggest bass I’ve ever caught. Long Lake is beautiful

    Sandra2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This house is great and is just what the pictures show. My husband and I spent much time in the deck by the lake fishing and relaxing. The hosts contacted us before we arrived to make sure we had all information needed for check in and made sure we had all important phone numbers for any emergency that could happen as well as a way to communicate with them quickly. There was plenty of room for our family of 8. My husband and I had the master bedroom with our own half bath, our daughters and grandchildren all had their own beds. Our grandchildren kept saying they wanted to buy the place and move there forever!! I highly recommend this place for the perfect vacation get away!

The Big Brook Guest Apartment was built for the enjoyment of our family and friends. We now offer the apartment for rental by word of mouth and through this venue. Our guests always remark on the beauty of the surroundings.
  • Great place to stay. Very clean. We will definitely book again!

  • We came up for a weekend to go to the wild center in Tupper lake. Barbara was super helpful with suggestions on where to go local has well as a little further away. I usually travel with Clorox wipes because you never know what you’re walking into. The apartment was impeccably clean and cozy and we even talked about coming back up in the summer months!

    Alana2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The location is secluded and has nice woodwork in the spacious apartment. There were nice amenities and everything was very clean.

    Kristopher2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • My family spent 2 nights here and it worked out well. There is enough room to comfortably sleep 5 or 6 people. The place was very clean and in good condition, and there was a full kitchen with mircowave and full sized refrigerator for preparing your own meals. It is an apartment above a detached garage. The garage is about 200 feet or so from the main house where the owners are. There is a balcony you can go out on. One night we were there it was very clear, and we could see a lot of stars. The lot is wooded, so you pretty much need to look straight up to see the stars, but there were a lot of them. The living room had a TV. As far as I know, there was no cable or satellite for watching live TV, but there was a DVD player, and there is internet and they had some streaming services like Hulu so you could watch some programs. My cell did not work too well at the location, but there was wifi so you could get on the internet. It is a good base point for exploring the Adirondacks.

    Michael2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice apartment with everything you need and a great host to top it off!

    Greg2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is exactly what I look for when I stay in the Adirondacks. Clean, comfortable, easy to find yet secluded, with a wonderful host! I felt right at home

    Tricia2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay (2 adults, 2 boys aged 12 & 9). In a very quiet peaceful location - the boys loved the lake nearby and wanted to go back on our second day but it rained! Can recommend the Adirondack experience for a rainy day. The house had everything we wanted, we wish we could have stayed longer.

    Angela2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment was exactly as described, clean, well appointed. Nice spot adjacent to long lake and big brook, great spot for paddling on the brook or out onto the lake. Barbara was quick to respond to questions. Thank you!

The Micro is a THOW (tiny home on wheels) and has been voted one of the best Airbnb Rentals in the ADKs by NYupstate. We wanted to design a space that was practical yet comfortable. It is quirky as we used some non-traditional materials. This is our first THOW and we are still learning quickly how good design becomes imperative in a small space however, the Micro will have all the amenities and comfort that one would need, plus of course an added uniqueness.
We first became interested after the Tiny House was featured in a Christmas special on FYI's Tiny House Nation in 2015. We became enthralled at these THOWs and knew this would be our next project.
The Micro is excellently located between the villages of Lake Placid (5 miles) and Saranac Lake (4 miles), both places are equally interesting to explore.
  • Great spot. Very cozy and perfectly decorated! Hoping to return again soon!

    Helen2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this micro! It is such a convenient spot to stay while exploring the Adirondacks. Lots of good hiking and great restaurants nearby.

    Julia2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny home exceeded our expectations in all ways! It was the perfect little space for the two of us looking to get out of the city and be in nature. The views from every window were incredible, and in the afternoon the sunlight streaming in made the whole house cozy. All of the thoughtful touches did not go unnoticed - from the fireplace on the wall, the Bluetooth speaker, toiletries, and kitchen amenities. It was very clean and well maintained, and all communication with the host was very straightforward and easy to understand. We can’t wait to go back and stay here again!

    Mandy2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional! This place is simply EXTRAORDINARY, we loved our stay everything was perfect.

    Kathy2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space, thoughtful hosts! We were cozy and toasty even in sub zero temps! Love the area, perfect stay!

    Maria2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I truly don't know where to begin! First off, Jodi and Neil for extremely responsive and answered all of my questions, and believe me...I had a lot! I booked this trip as a surprise for my boyfriend and was extremely nervous it would be crowded. This place and the hosts went above and beyond to make it so cozy. There was plenty of space and more! We even experienced some snow which made the experience even better! Having a full kitchen allowed us not to constantly eat out which was really nice. We took some suggestions from our hosts guide book which was awesome. You truly cannot beat the location and price! I cannot wait to come back!

    Kelsey2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! This hosts were great with directions and giving advice on stuff to do in the area, perfect for skiers or anyone just looking to visit the lake placid/saranac lake area. I strongly recommend this tiny house to couples or a single person!

    Connor2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and clean place. The bed was so cozy, that we didn’t want to get out of it. I was worried that it might be cold but it was very well insulated and the heaters were awesome. Very creative decor and sweet touches throughout the home. Can’t wait to come out in the summer.

Somewhere between “Glamping” and... “Camping”. It’s this new thing - where you leave the machinations of the urban world behind and retreat to the calming surrounds of nature. To some extent. This isn't exactly primitive. 1/4 mile trek. A footbridge over a winding stream, a fire-pit, a hammock, Adirondack chairs and a clearing under the hemlocks will be your immediate surroundings. No electricity. No running water. You are alone - surrounded by hundreds of acres of private, wild forest.
You've got to walk!! It's .3 miles (5-10 minute walk on a trail) from parking. Transportation by UTV is available for a $10 fee per ride (please make arrangements in advance. Also - you can't drive there - don't ask). You will need your own gear!! We don't provide bedding!! There will be a clean bottom sheet on the bed and a decorative cover blanket/pillows. Bring your sleeping gear. There is a cooler and an large oak ice box for food storage. Firewood for wood stove and firepit provided. Grilling station - both propane and charcoal (both provided)- for the serious outdoor chef. A dry sink and countertop for cleaning and prep. complete the kitchen. The tent is a spacious 16x20’ and furnished sparingly with a mix of old and new conveniences. A king-sized bed (carefully designed by chainsaw) dominates the wooden deck and slab steps (both milled on the property). The property is over 200 acres of mostly wild forest. The road in is unimproved and can be a bit rough - although 4 wheel drive isn't necessary it can be helpful (especially in winter.) There is a network of well-marked trails for hiking and skiing and a pond with a small beach and picnic area. There are several houses/cabins around - all are occupied. please be quiet and respectful of owners/tenants privacy if you happen to be nearby one.
What makes our neighborhood special? Nothing!! It's special because there is nothing around! You are alone in the Adirondack wilderness!! Can you hear the outside world? No - for the most part, although the outside world is very loud and we can’t make any such guarantees.
  • Everything about Margaret’s camp was extremely well done; The tent was thoughtfully placed, very clean, and the surroundings gave it a magical feel! We loved the sound of the stream at bedtime and the comfortable mattress! It was chilly the weekend we stayed but if you bring lots of blankets, the fire inside will keep you nice and warm! We can’t wait to come back again!

    Brooke2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect Getaway!!! Great location to be out of the city. Peaceful and relaxing. The best place to don't have a cellphone and expend time by the fire playing cards, Monopoly, etc. We will definitely come back soon!!! Thanks, Margaret for everything. Hope you guys enjoy the Sleeping bag, We used it the first night bc we could turn the indoor fireplace on.

    Francisco2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly magical escape surrounded by the beautiful trees and forest. The walk is worth it as you are in the middle of the woods and your cares and worries about every day life just fade away. it is so peaceful & serene with the stream running through the property. We stayed in mid-October and the indoor fireplace kept us very warm and cozy at night time. Margarete is a wonderful host & set the scene for a perfect, amazing weekend. She provides all the amenities which comes in handy if you forgot any basic things at home. There is great hiking right on the property which is also a plus. Will absolutely be back. :)

    Manasi2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

    Hannah2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Margarete’s place is PERFECT! Secluded, quiet, relaxing, and extremely well kept. All supplies are provided at the camp, just bring food and bedding! Close enough for day trips into lake George, or enjoy the day relaxing at the camp. Couldn’t have chose a better place to stay!

    Steph2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a well-placed deep woods camp with everything you need for a short glamping trip. We loved the location and so did our dog! Plenty of open woods to explore along with a pond nearby and a stream passing right through the camp. Nothing but good things to say about our stay! If we are heading to this area again we will certainly look to one of Margarete’s places first!

    Ashley And Nick2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place. Very secluded. My wife loved spending time on the Hammock in the mornings. Gets super duper dark in the night as you would expect hence bon-fire is that much fun. It gets cold at night so pack that hoodie you got, along with extra bedding. Margarete was very responsive through out. I would love to visit again!

  • We had a great time at Reinaldo’s place. The cabin is beautiful (just like the pictures) and offers many features to relax and enjoy nature... we were right next to the lake! Reinaldo was a great host and paid attention to little details since our arrival. Totally recommended!

    Enmanuel2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience with Airbnb and we couldn’t have been happier! Reinaldo has such quick replies and thought of everything. If you’re looking for a cute but spacious cabin, this is the place for you.

  • In the past I have had some interesting experiences with Air BnB’s... Thanks to Reinaldo, this experience was awesome! The cabin is cute and cozy, it’s really a miniature home. Great view of the lake is a plus. We booked mostly because we could bring our dog with us, we wanted to take him on our hiking trip. He had a great time as well and didn’t want to leave. We had a very pleasant stay, thank you Reinaldo for making everything easy and comfortable!

    Samantha2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best places to stay! From easy arrival/directions to a cozy fire to comfortable beds to perfect cleanliness I cannot think of any way it could be more inviting. This is a fantastic spot for relaxing after a long hike, walking along the lake across the street, or enjoying downtown restaurants. I highly recommend this as a place to stay!

    Alton2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Reinaldo is the best host communicator I have experienced to date. The cabin is immaculate, kitchen well appointed, bed super comfy, great shower. Lovely view of Little Wolf Pond, sunsets and access thereto. It’s a comfortable, relaxing place to stay. They will be opening a planetarium a few doors down so a good place for stargazing.

The kitchen was more than fully stocked with any kind of pan or pot you would need and was great for the dinners we made. Thank you again Erik, we will be back!

    Kristen2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy location in beautiful area. We did a really nice hike and enjoyed the colors of the fall. The house was spacious and our kids really liked it, too. The only thing I missed was a coffee machine :-) , but everything else was just perfect.

    Katrin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Erick's place was easy to find, safe, neat, clean, roomy and within walking distance (8 min) of the Long Lake Diner for adult beverages after a long day hiking. I'd stay again without hesitation. He was super responsive and firewood was provided for a relaxing campfire late into the evening. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Dizzying views of the Hudson River! Sweet cabin modest in scale, simple and pure to not detract from the richness of the views, offering a fresh, invigorating sense of “just what is needed, nothing more.” The cabin was designed and hand crafted by its owner in 2017. The rugged primitive siding was harvested from on-site cedar trees; the knotty pine interior was locally sourced. Friends gifted a claw foot tub and historic farm house sink. Enjoy a hot tub experience in our new Japanese spa!
The living room offers incredible views of the Hudson River and the meadow below. There are leaded glass windows in the bay window, a large comfortable vintage sofa and simple decorations. The bedroom offers a queen bed with duvet covers and beautiful east facing views of the Hudson River. There is an antique vanity with vessel sink, antique oriental rugs and Asian artwork. The bathroom has a claw foot tub with shower hoop and glass vessel sink. There is plenty of hot water, towels and soap. The kitchen is fully stocked with stove, fridge, microwave and sink. There are beautiful copper pans to cook with, plates, glasses and silverware. This beautiful cabin is located hundreds of feet above the Hudson River and offers dizzying views and great privacy. The cabin is not set a top the highest point of the land, where it would be fully exposed, but partway down, allowing the woods behind to form privacy and to shelter the house. Gaze out at the wildness of the site from a sheltered spot. Enjoy spectacular views of the Hudson River, a cedar forest and wildflower meadow. There is a fire pit with Adirondack chairs. We provide dry firewood and kindling for our guests. Stargazing at night is amazing as there is no light pollution. Enjoy a hot tub experience! Built within a beautiful Japanese temple-like structure on one of the most beautiful spots of our land, our all natural no-chemical hot tub is a delightful way to start your morning, relax after hiking or winding down after dinner. Available for a private experience for $25 for an hour of wonderful relaxation. Let us know if you would like to book. Join us for wood-fired pizza! On the upper portion of our land off Cemetery Road, we have a wood fired pizza oven. Here’s how it works. We make and provide the dough, and guests bring their own toppings. We fire up the wood-fired pizza in the late afternoon. By six, the wood fire has died down and the oven is about 800 degrees. From six to seven-thirty, guests come to the pizza pavilion with their toppings and we help them cook their pizzas. Because the oven is so hot, the pizzas cook in about three minutes. Lots of fun! Requested of donation of $8 ($5 for children) for firewood, dough and maintenance, please. Let us know if you plan to join us. Summers are wonderful with cool mountain breezes, nearby lakes and the Hudson River to swim, bathe or fish in. Fall is glorious with all the trees turning color. As for things to do in the area, there is white water rafting in the beautiful clean Hudson River right at the bottom of our hill offered by various kayaking companies, hiking spots galore, a nearby gorgeous completely undeveloped lake called 13th Lake, dining in North Creek or nearby Garnet Hill Lodge and great daytrips to nearby Lake George, Blue Mountain Lake, Lake Placid and such. A great deal of thought and energy went into planning this cabin. Like a tree grabbing a roothold in the slope, reaching down for water and minerals and arching up toward the available sunlight, a house must begin and grow from its site. When the design of a house has grown out of the uniqueness of the site, it will seem as natural and as integral a part of the whole as trees are a part of the forest. When the house becomes a part of the land, the site can be fully inhabited. This property is located at the end of a quiet country road and abuts forty acres of land owned by your host where we offer glamping tents and two other cabins. Please take a look at these listings and reviews to get a better sense of what we offer. The property is an easy scenic drive up 87 from NYC. If you arrive late, the house will be unlocked and lights on for you. MORE HISTORY: Since 1910, my family has owned 8 acres of land on the upper part of the land. When my great-grandparents built the original camp (Bird Camp), there were gorgeous views looking all the way down to the Hudson River. Then when people stopped owning grazing animals, and as it then became expensive to keep the meadows mowed, the trees grew up and the views were all lost. When 32 acres of land below us became available several years ago, with financial help from my brother, I purchased the land and over several winters, I had the property strategically logged to open up again the beautiful south and east facing views of Gore Mountain, Moxon Mountain and the Hudson River below. Originally I intended to return to my former business life I'd led downstate and to build vacation homes for sale. As things have worked out, my plan now is to build simple beautiful rental cabins and retain the property for retirement income, and so that I might leave an income producing estate to my daughters. I had an amazing winter of 2016 and 2017 building this camp. By December, the framers had completed the structure, the windows were in and I was able to keep warm with temporary heat all winter as I spent months happily finishing the inside of the "camp."
Camp HudsonView is located at end of a road which comes through a quiet existing neighborhood. Please drive slowly.
  • The cabin is spacious for two people, with everything you could possibly need for a great weekend. The view from behind the cabin where the firepit is even more beautiful than the pictures. Leslie was great at communicating with us, and brought us more campfire supplies when we needed it. We loved our stay!

    Rebecca2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place is amazing. The beauty outside is matched by the shabby chic/cabin and decor. Was surprised how close the neighboring cabin was, but it was so quiet it didn't matter. And, what a perfect place to step away from the chaos of every day life. Perfect getaway for adults, and dog approved too! Hosts made everything easy. Peaceful, soul cleansing...just perfect.

    Carey2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views and cozy beds. Perfect to visit during fall.

    Myra2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie was a wonderful host. We had car trouble the first morning we were there and Leslie came right down to help us out. Yummy pizza and adorable dog! The cabin had a stunning view and the hot tub was very relaxing. Only wish we could have stayed longer than two nights.

    Shannon2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Magical and beautiful. So happy I got to stay here in the perfect fall weather right when the leaves change. I would LOVE to stay here again and recommend this place to all friends.

    Nicole2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect all around for a peaceful, woodsy-vibe getaway. Hudson Rviver, Hiking, great amenities... Leslie is a wonderful host!

    Allie2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for somewhere to take in the Adirondacks look no further! Our cabin was perfectly situated with a stunning view of the Hudson River out our windows. The cabin was perfectly outfitted with everything we needed, including our own bonfire pit and overlooking the ‘Dacks with plenty of wood. While food in the area is less than expected, turns out you don’t need to go ANYWHERE for dinner at all. Leslie makes the most delicious pizzas in her homemade wood fired oven. Just remember to pick up a few choice ingredients to throw on when you are heading in and you’ll be all set! (We brought cherry tomatoes, broccoli rapini, fresh dill, and peppers 🤙🏻) Last but not least it’s a must to reserve the Cedar Spa after a day of hiking. Nothing feels better than slipping into the warm water and letting it all melt away! Such a lovely place to stay in a beautiful setting with a fantastic host. Wouldn’t pass it up!

    Juliann2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! My husband and I enjoyed our getaway more than I can say. It is so hard to find dog-friendly stays and Leslie was accommodating!

  • Ray is an excellent host with a beautiful cabin. Everything that was mentioned and more was included. We had no shortage of things do to due to the material Ray left us, and he responded promptly whenever we had a question. We had absolutely nothing to complain about and were quite pleased with the spaciousness of the cabin. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

  • We had a great stay at Daniela’s and Dave’s cottage. The area is beautiful hiking, canoeing, groceries and some restaurants nearby. The cottage is comfortable, clean, with plenty of room. Daniela and Dave made sure we had everything we needed. Hope to be back soon!

    Roos2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful cabin. I thought this cabin was perfect. It’s not on the water, but the access from Sandy Point is convenient and easy, and allowed us to meet other travelers. The price reflects the fact that it’s not lakefront, and is the perfect balance of access and cost. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay - the cabin is quaint, cozy, and everything we needed. Daniela and Dave are great people, and we enjoyed meeting the other guests staying at Sandy Point, who regularly vacation there. Long Lake is beautiful, and I highly recommend taking a float plane flight during your stay. It couldn’t have been better! Thank you Daniela and Dave!

  • Cute cabin for a great value! Housekeeping comes in daily to make sure beds are made and towels are stocked. Conveniently located near a bunch of outdoor activities (paddle boarding, white water rafting, climbing, etc) as well as necessities such as grocery stores and gas stations.

  • A wonderful cabin across the street from Long Lake. Daniela and her husband were very friendly and accommodating. This place is right in the heart of the Adirondacks and has all of the rustic charm you are looking for! Also close to the business district of Long Lake and so easy to get groceries or stop in at one of the local ice cream shops!

This tiny, magical, rustic, cabin is situated overlooking a large pond on a private property of 200+ acres. Though the cabin is very small (about 10x12 ft with an upstairs sleeping loft) it is quaint and lovingly made with hand split cedar shingles and locally harvested wood. There is an outhouse and no power/running water, but a 5 gallon cooler of spring-fed drinking water is provided.
This cabin looks like a fairy tale - nestled beneath tall Scotch pines and though small - well equipped. It has a single cot on the main floor and there are two large camping pads in the upstairs loft. Make no mistake - this is camping - but in a delightful setting.
This is a large, private property, mostly forested with a few open meadows. It is paramount that our guests respect the privacy of the other inhabitants on this property. There are trails on the property available for use - if you find yourself near someone's dwelling area please give them space and be considerate.
  • The Tiny Cabin was so cute and wonderful! The lake right outside was an awesome thing to wake up to. It was a little difficult keeping the fire going through the night but that's because I went alone. There was a lot of ice on the walk to the cabin, so be careful! Otherwise, 10/10 amazing experience, and I'll definitely come back again sometime. Pots/pans/utensils and more were provided, even a teapot!!! I highly recommend staying here!

    Olive2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This rustic tiny cabin was the perfect getaway from it all. Accurately described, simple, and peaceful accommodations. We stayed in the winter for the 15 minute drive to Gore Mountain. Would love to come again for the summer season.

    Christy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Was so nice the first time we had to come again! Wood stove is super cozy and we would come back in a heart beat in any season! Perfect location for visiting Gore Mountain. Since this is winter its of note that you may need snow tires/chains to reliably get around after heavy snow. After coming a few times I would also recommend a headlamp/nice lantern for extra lighting options. (Many are provided, but I preferred my gas burning lantern) Many thanks to Margarete for being a great hostess! The cabin is thoughtfully cleaned and stocked each time we've visited!

    Ben2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Margarete’s place is where you can find serenity and gratitude for the simple things in life. We enjoyed exploring the woods, sledding down a hill, journaling under snow frosted trees, the warmth of the wood stove, and just simply observing nature. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful part of the Adirondacks.

    Jacob2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny cabin is wonderful and cozy. The trails on the property made for fantastic winter hiking and beautiful surroundings. My friends and I had a relaxing and fulfilling time here.

    Hannah2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication

    Alfredo2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely magical escape. We had a great time exploring the winter wonderland with our pups. Very grateful for the crampons that were so kindly provided in the cabin and for the wonderfully maintained private hiking trails.

    Anna2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Margarete’s Tiny Cabin, set back in the woods beside a small lake was the epitome of peacefulness. The cabin itself, while limited in amenities, makes up for that by being an inviting and cozy space. The setting could not be better, on the shore of a serene small lake with access to beautiful forest trails. For those looking to get away and unplug (literally), a more perfect location could not be found. This is a place I would return to again and again, any season.

"If you're trying to escape Covid19 in your area and come to the Adirondacks -Please Don't right now! Our hospitals are tiny and not equipped to handle added strain if YOU get sick also. Almost all services are closed - no restaurants or bars (take out only) or retail shopping are open. We want to be here when this is all over so you can still come here. In the meantime, please stay at home and wait it out We'll see you when this is all over! Please return then!"
**UPDATE March 13, 2020** Our very first rental does not occur for the season until May 15. Otherwise the rental unit is unoccupied between now and then, so there is no chance of contamination with Covid19 virus by other travelers before that date. We want our guests to feel secure in the knowledge that we sanitize our rental each and every time we clean. We use bleach as well as Clorox Cleaner with Bleach to clean and sanitize all surfaces including TV remotes, switches, door knobs, flat surfaces, cooking and refrigerator surfaces, coffee maker, bathroom and bathroom fixtures, as well as the outside surfaces of the hot tub. We will also be using extra doses of chlorine every day in the hot tub, and all bedding will be washed with the hottest water and large doses of bleach used with sheets laundering after each guest. Please be assured we take our guests safety and welfare very seriously. Our rental is also very secluded, so you will be able to maintain a very secluded vacation. If you desire not to have any contact with us, we will glad give you self check in instructions. Travel safe and arrive here healthy! Timbertrail Ranch Hideaway is a rustic secluded oasis of tranquility and a place to relax to your heart’s content. The bedroom suite opens up to our very large back yard, which is where the private entrance is located. We provide plenty of off street parking Our property abuts forest preserve lands and we are quite far from the neighbors, so there is lots of privacy. The yard has a fire pit with abundant firewood just for you. There is a raised fireplace on the flagstone patio with beautiful gardens, fruit trees and berry bushes surrounding the yard. We provide all the firewood you might need. There are times, when it is very dry in the forest, or when it is very windy, that we may ask you not to use the fireplace. In late summer we have an abundance of blueberries, free for the picking! Occupying most of the entire lower floor of our home, the bedroom space measures nearly 400 square feet. Your own private bath with shower is right there as well. There is an outside hot shower just outside the door near the hot tub. A second set of doors leads to your own large private screened porch with day bed, table and chairs and comfortable chairs for relaxing with coffee or cocktails. You could spend the entire day and never leave if you wanted to. The fragrance of the balsam, spruce and pine forest surrounding our home is truly amazing. Sleeping on this porch is also amazing. Be careful, you might just get the best night’s sleep of your life! The suite does occupy space on the same floor as our laundry room and storage, so you will be sure to hear us on the other side at times. The best part of the whole space is the 8’ x 8’ Tiger River (Hot Springs) hot tub. Maintained at a constant 101 degrees, you can slip into a dreamy soak after a long day of hiking, paddling, cycling or shopping. We use only liquid chlorine along with a non-chlorine sanitizer, so there is never a heavy chemical odor. The hot tub is private while you are home, but we may use it when you are out, so it’s “semi-shared”. We do, however, totally respect your privacy while you are on property. The bedroom has a king size bed with a 3” memory foam topper, making it amazingly comfortable. We provide plenty of towels, top quality sheets and beach towels if you need them. When the weather is nice, we like to dry the sheets outside for that amazing line-dried mountain air fragrance. We also supply a Keurig coffee maker and coffee pods, half & half, small refrigerator for drinks, etc. and a microwave oven. An entire wall of books are there for your reading pleasure as well as a 34 inch flat screen Smart TV with Spectrum Cable. The smart TV provides access to Amazon Prime and Netflix streaming service. We provide extreme speed wireless internet so streaming movies or doing some work (if you have to), checking emails, etc., is never a problem. Our home is also home to two large dogs - Duke, an eight year old Black Labrador/Great Dane (Labradane), and Bear, a nine year old yellow Lab. The dogs are very friendly and LOVE people and will greet your arrivals and visit you outside during the course of your stay. Duke may bark at your arrival - it’s not aggression, but excitement since they love company! It’s your choice if you want to let them in to visit inside or not. We don’t mind if you don’t mind. Keep in mind, they are beggars and they will get on the furniture. Please don’t feed them! As you’ll notice, they get plenty at home! Our yard is also home to an abundance of song birds, hummingbirds, white-tailed deer, red squirrels, a family of crows, wild turkeys, and the occasional fox or other wildlife. The neighboring forest is also home to lots of Adirondack flora and fauna, and you never know what magnificent creature might turn up in the yard. We provide binoculars for up-close viewing on site. We once caught a photo of a bull moose in the yard on our trail camera! In the back yard there’s a great double hammock for lazing away a hot summer day in the shade of the balsams. You won’t want to leave! Our neighborhood is very safe, but due to the secluded nature of our location, we do have security cameras on our property. If you wish the camera near the entrance to your lodging to be turned off, it can simply be unplugged next to the front door to the unit. We like to see the wildlife that frequents our yard. You will have your own parking space and there are motion detecting security lights and strings of lights to guide you down the wooded path to the entrance in the dark if you are out at night. Susan is a native of Lake Placid and has worked for many years in the hospitality business and at the Regional Office of Tourism. Glen is a retired chef and folk artist. You'll see a lot of his whimsical creations around the property. We are both very knowledgeable about the area and all it has to offer, so please don’t hesitate to ask. We provide lots of area tourism information as well as guidebooks and maps, so you can plan your perfect days here in the Lake Placid area. We are a 3 minute drive to the Mt. Van Hoevenberg Olympic Sports Complex where you can ride a bobsled (yes, even in summer!) and tour the Olympic bobsled, luge and skeleton sliding facilities. (Note: summer 2019...the sports complex is under construction with no public access to the facility). The 50 kilometers of cross-country ski trails make for wonderful summer hiking there as well and we can give you a trail map. The Cascade Lakes are a quick 5 minute drive away and offer crystal clear water for swimming, which is awesome on a hot summer day. We also provide a dining guide of local restaurant menus, notated as to which are the local favorites. Timbertrail Ranch is located a short drive from Adirondack Loj Road where some of the major trails to the High Peaks Wilderness area begin. But don’t forget about the outlying hikes where you will find FAR less crowds and a much better outdoor experience. Our local hiking trails tend to be very crowded during the summer and we can offer some suggestions for optional hikes that are just as great and much less congested. There are many within a very short drive of Timbertrail. We have a two night minimum stay and only rent Timbertrail Hideaway from mid-May to mid-October. We do not rent at any other time of year. For holidays and certain special events there will be a longer minimum stay, depending on the event. Timbertrail is a non-smoking property, meaning no smoking anywhere on site.
Timbertrail Hideaway is located 5 miles outside the village of Lake Placid on NY State Route 73. It is a rural setting with homes located quite a distance apart. You will not see any other buildings from your suite. There is a beautiful view of the Adirondack Mountains from the patio and hot tub.
  • Great location, off the beaten path, secluded and private. Clean room and friendly host. Exactly as pictured on website. Would definitely stay again.

    Warren2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views! Exactly as advertised. Close to all attractions, yet still private! Much better than a hotel stay! Best part during the stay, sitting in the hot tub and just talking during a nice little rain storm.

  • If you're looking for a true ADK space and experience, with quiet and scenic setting, close to Lake Placid, this is the place. The hosts are friendly, responsive and very helpful and their home is truly ADK and offers a beautiful view of mountains from your private back yard area and, the hot tub is the best after a day of hiking or walking, fishing or shopping. It was perfect.

    Cindy2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • They were just the nicest people. Their dogs are so cute and friendly too. This was so close to the Van Hoevenberg trailhead for Marcy, which we hiked, and it was absolutely perfect to just relax and crash after such a demanding day. It is adorable and also very nice inside, with a nice bathroom, TV, hot tub, bed, and cookies!! Thank you for the coffee and tea as well. We had a perfect experience.

    Moira2019-09-13T00:00:00Z

We'd like to stress that is a no-frills 5 room bunkhouse and each booking is for a private room unless notified. It is in the basement of a Nordic ski center that operates during the winter months and can feel kind of deserted in the summer. That said, it's a great option for hikers/people looking to explore the region at an affordable price. We love our home, the Adirondacks, and want to provide lodging for all. I make myself available at all hours for questions.
*We can accommodate multiple parties on the same date-if calendar dates are blocked out, chances are we have availability, please message! The bunkhouse at Cascade Ski Center is no frills, bunk style lodging consisting of 6 rooms ranging in bunks from 2-8 people. We are almost always able to give parties/people their own private room, however, during busy times we may fill up and it becomes shared bunkhouse style lodging - we always give guests a heads up about private/shared rooms. We provide a pillow/pillowcase and guests bring their own linen/sleeping bags & towels. There is a common room with tables, chairs, couches, TV, wifi, small mini fridge, toaster, microwave, and hot water kettle. During the winter, we operate a small restaurant/bar onsite that serves food form 11-4:00 PM.
We are centrally located in the heart of the High Peaks for the outdoor enthusiast-just 1 mile down the road from the Adirondack Loj Rd.
  • As others have stated, this is a simple facility, but it's perfect if you're looking for a convenient place to stay at a great price. There is a bar and Cafe that I didn't have the chance to go to, but I've heard great things about! I would definitely come back again, and hopefully stay for a little longer!

    Christian2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Cascade for some XC skiing in the Lake Placid area. This is no frills accommodation, but so was the price! You're pretty much on your own getting settled in, but the staff was friendly and helpful during business hours, and staying at a store that has great XC equipment is a plus.

    Frederick2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great find if you are looking to stay in the Lake Placid area! Easy check in and great communication from the host.

  • I never met Jennifer but I had a good stay and she made sure I had all the details of the place I needed. It is just as advertised. I stayed here in between my shift for work. It was fairly quiet but the room I was in was near\beside the stairs if your a light sleeper this may bother you, also since the upstairs entrance to the dorm is above you. I did not have much issues since I’m not a light sleeper but some may. Bathrooms are shared but there is 4 separate bathroom/showers that can be locked. Make sure you bring your own towels, linens, blankets etc. There was a pillow and pillow case and the room was clean and the bathroom were also very clean as well. There is some linens and blankets available. The temperature can be adjusted in the rooms. The bed wes comfortable and the layouts are well throughout.

  • The bedroom and bathroom were all that we required. The best part was the ability to ski right out the back door on very nice well groomed trails. We had a great time.

    Jonathan2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place continues to please. I stayed for a second time there this week and I'm so impressed with the way this facility is run. The only thing that I think could use some extra TLC is some more thought to the common area, like some lamps and extra accessories where the water dispenser is. But, for the fact that you get a nice, quiet, private large accommodation at this price, I couldn't recommend it more. A PERFECT choice if you are coming to the area and spending a lot of time outside during the day and just need a place to crash. Better than a hostel and cheaper than a hotel.

    Carlos2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to stay if you're a group of hikers, skiers, or climbers looking to explore the area! While the hostel itself is in the basement of a nordic ski center, it's also a short drive away from many different trailheads and the town of Lake Placid. Check-in was incredibly easy and the common area upstairs is a really nice touch. Would definitely come here again!

Located between Lake Placid and Saranac lake, with Scarface Mountain only 200 yards away. Two bedroom cabin (King and Queen beds) with a large fenced back yard with a fire pit. This house is dog friendly with two large doggie doors to back yard. We do have an additional $50 cleaning fee for dogs. Lots of parking and additional parking for trailers. Nice back yard lounge area and a Barbecue for grilling. The house is located on a main road there will be some road noise.
Our chocolate lab, Duke, is a family member and he goes everywhere with us including vacations. So we wanted to be able to give our guest the ability to bring their four legged family members along with them. We know how important they are and how stressful it can be leaving them behind. This is a nice updated 1950s cabin with a quiet large fenced in back yard for privacy. Sits on a corner lot in Ray Brook. Great for a family getaway in the mountains.
  • This has been our favorite place that we have stayed at. It was clean, cute, had a fenced in yard and everything you need for your pets! Highly recommend you stay here!

    Amanda2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Warm, comfortable, very clean and well equipped. We loved our stay!

    Chantal2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Duke's cabin was the perfect set up for my family staying in Lake Placid. It is close both to Lake Placid and Saranac Lake so plenty of options for recreation. The hosts were very accommodating in having a crib, swing and pack n'play available for our infant. We also enjoyed that the cabin was dog friendly allowing the whole family to travel together. The cabin was clean and well-stocked with hygiene products and food staples (coffee!). Sarah was also very responsive throughout the weekend of our stay, answering questions and following up on the plow as we were there during a blizzard. Duke's Cabin was definitely a great find and we will definitely stay again as we travel to the area multiple times each year!

    Eileen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient location! Thoughtful amenities!

    Keith2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was perfect for our family of four plus our four legged kid. Amazing space and super clean. The location is perfect for doing thing in Lake Placid or Saranac. Great host too!

    Gregg2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, has everything you could need. It was a comfortable place just away from whiteface mountain. 8/8 would stay again.

    Justin2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Location is right on 86, HOWEVER, it is perfectly situated between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. We couldn't even hear the cars, so it's location on 86 did not affect our stay at all. Make sure you follow the host's directions, NOT your GPS. You will end up 20 minutes from where you need to be. It is right across from the Tractor Supply and next to a great gas station (AMAZING food...for real...giant GIANT sandwiches). Overall, we had a great time!

  • Lin is an amazing hostess!! She is sweet and lovely and her place is welcoming, adorable and clean. She goes out of her way to make each stay special. We are already looking forward to coming back!

    Jennifer2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second stay with Lin and I'm positive not the last. Lin is one of the most friendly and intelligent home owners I've ever met. You feel like being home immediately when you enter.

    Alexander2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Look forward to a warm welcome and a cozy experience sitting by the fire chatting, sharing experiences and stories while savoring a beer or a glass of wine.

  • As always, Lin is such a great host. Thanks again for hosting me. I look forward to my next stay at Lin's place.

  • Thanks for hosting me again, Lin! Lin's place is extremely comfortable and clean. Highly recommended!

  • Lin hosts the PERFECT rustic and cozy pine-cabin experience with heaps of hospitality!

    Paige2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • It is easy to see why Lin has been rated a 'super host'. You could not fault her airbnb and the care she takes to look after her guests. She has a great deal of local knowledge and a passionate commitment to the beautiful Adirondacks, the spirit of which she captures within her 'camp'. The building was one familiar to be having spent summers 60 ago just a short walk away. The neighbourhood kids all hung out together, including the original owners of Lin's place. So it was a marvellous walk down memory lane. So Lin, thanks for the hospitality extended to my nephew. I wholeheartedly recommend Lin's airbnb as comfy accomodation in North River to anyone seeking a real Adirondack experience.

  • Walking in the door was when I felt at home. Comfy and welcoming space~ some gifts left around to indulge in. A fire was crackling.. no pressure but to release and relax in a Comfortable Adk lodge and den. I turned on some tunes.. Breakfast.. thumbs up! Too cool! Got an amazing walk in before we headed out~ around a quiet and still lake on a snow covered trail. It was all but a dream! Thanks a bunch Lin! You made our trip really Special Isabella and Zach ~

  • We took a quick snowmobile trip and found visiting with Lin a wonderful bonus. So gracious!

    John2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lin's place is an authentic Adirondack cabin...which is exactly what we were looking for. It is warm, cozy and welcoming. Lin is equally as warm and welcoming and makes a great host. Although Lin's place is a great value, it is eclipsed by what Lin brings to the table as a host. We had a great time and highly recommend her and her home. Ann & Jim Gedney

    Jim2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lin’s cabin is warm and cozy and just what we expected and wanted for our ski weekend at Gore mountain. Lin is a gracious, well traveled and warm host who is a great conversationalist and who creates a welcoming and relaxed vibe for her guests. I highly recommend staying at her place. We can’t wait to come back and check out the area in summer!

  • Amazing host, a fire place, snow . One of my favorite stay

    Nicolas2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lin was probably the most hospitable airbnb host we have ever had. She welcomed us into her home like we were cousins that haven’t seen each other in a few years. Her dog Rudy was very fun and got along great with our pooch. Her conversations were interesting and exciting. Lin is a very intriguing woman with great stories and insights. The morning breakfast made it hard to leave. We will most definitely be back soon.

  • My husband and I had our honeymoon canceled back in June so we wanted to take a mini weekend getaway/honeymoon trip to Lake Placid before our rescheduled honeymoon in May. We decided to stay in Tupper Lake because it split our 5 hours straight there, and we were only a 40min Drive from Tupper Lake to LP. We chose Chris’ Airbnb because of its ratings and reviews, and honestly we were so pleased with our choice. Not only was he quick to communicate as we were booking but the place felt clean, and was so quiet! We really enjoyed our trip and recommend this place if anyone’s on the fence of booking it! If we ever head back out again we will certainly be using Chris again! Thank you!!!

We provide a pillow & pillow case and guests bring their own linen & towels. There is a shared common area with a hot water kettle, mini fridge, microwave, toaster, & TV. Guests bring their own utensils/dining ware; there isn't a kitchen sink other than the bathroom to really wash dishes. All water is potable.
Heart of the Adirondacks! 1 mile from ADK Loj Rd. - located at Cascade X-C Ski Center, Lake Placid
  • Nice hostel, you get a private room. 10 minutes outside of Lake Placid, so great location.

Enjoy staying in Rory‘s Roost ski cottage. This guest apartment is separated from the main house on the property, has a separate entrance, and has a dedicated parking space. The decor is modern and the apartment was updated in the fall of 2019. Winter sports artwork adorns the space and you will enjoy an open concept living space that includes a well equipped kitchen, large bar counter, queen sleeper sofa and a television for use during your stay.
The bathroom had also been updated with the new vanity and toilet. There is a shower and a closet in the entryway mudroom for your outdoor gear as well as one in the bedroom for your luggage. Please note this unit does not have a kitchen. There is a coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave for your use during your stay.
The cottage apartment is located in a neighborhood close to everything Lake Placid has to offer. Less than a five minute drive to all the restaurants and shops on Main Street in about a 15 minute drive to Whiteface
  • We had a lovely stay in March! Rory's Roost Cottage Apartment was even closer to town than I had anticipated. Great location, in the summer you could easily walk to town. The space was clean, stylish, and comfortable with an ADK touch. There were sufficient kitchen supplies that came in handy during our trip. We enjoyed watching the tv and wi-fi worked great. The apartment was a great place to come back to after a long day of hiking! Check-in and check-out were both super easy!

This sunny apartment is close (but not too close) to Lake Placid and the great views, restaurants, dining, and family-friendly activities it has to offer. It is a completely separate and secure portion of a house occupied by an older couple. It is located in a safe, quiet neighborhood and natural, secluded setting; you will enjoy the comfy bed, the patio, the kitchen, and the clean, sunlit space . My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
This apartment is the bottom floor of an occupied house. It is completely separate and lockable, with it's own access, patio and amenities. It has been painstakingly soundproofed from the upstairs living space.
This neighborhood is quiet and safe, mostly populated by local families. Houses are far enough apart as to offer seclusion and privacy.
  • Awesome place. Spotless and very well situated to Lake Placid and the ADK’s.

  • Loved this apartment, the location was perfect for us. Close to everything yet peaceful, it was very quiet inside the building you cant even hear cars in the driveway. It was very romantic and well equipped. I was glad to be able to cook up a storm in the amazing kitchen. Both the bed and pull out couch were comfortable and we also enjoyed the little patio.
