It is 5 minutes from the Alvão Natural Park and 5 minutes from the famous pure and clear waterfalls of the Cabrão River, where you can cool off on the hottest days. 10 minutes away are the Fisgas de Ermelo and 14 km away is Mondim de Basto, and close by is the emblematic Monte Farinha, which attracts many visitors.

Refúgio das Poldras is located in Vilar de Viando, right on the banks of the Cabril River, one of the cleanest rivers in the region. Excellent for bathing, swimming, or simply walking along more than 2 km of the Cabril River. It is located about 2 km from the center of the village if you want to walk along the Roman road.
