  • Was exactly what I was looking for. Nights can be cold, but Karylyn has more than enough blankets to stay cozy - very cute space / definitely a little nostalgia!

    Samuel2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Karylyn is a fantastic host who will go out of her way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Communications were answered quickly and accurately. The room is separate from the main house so it's very private. The bathroom is not connected to the room and is about 50 feet away, but was very clean and inviting. I will be back! Thank you Karylyn!

We recently acquired the house we live in which has an efficiency apartment in the back. It is cozy and private. The house is old and unique. It was previously a long term rental. We wanted to provide a restful space in the heart of Maine Highlands, the crossroads of Central Maine. We enjoy the scenic area with beautiful lakes rivers, multiuse trail systems and trail head of the 100 mile wilderness of the Appalachian Trail, Moosehead lake, Maine's largest lake, and State Parks.
This is a small, private apartment looking over a field where wildlife is often seen. We love to watch the wildlife, turkeys, deer, squirrels and birds. We are surrounded by lakes, rivers, and trail systems. We have a beautiful covered bridge 10 minutes away. We provide horse shoes, fire pit and gas grill on request. We also include cable TV, wifi and washer/dryer.
We live in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood. Very residential and private.
  • Spoiled for choice, this spot has the best selection of amenities I've ever experienced from an Airbnb! It was very easy to quickly feel at home. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook meals comfortably. Ruth is an amazing host and communication was easy. I would easily stay here again and can highly recommend to anyone.

    Abby2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place with beautiful scenery and great Internet signal. Cozy and warm, a haven away from the world. A wonderful way to spend a weekend winter in Maine.

    Josh2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth is a wonderful host, and her place is really cozy! Thanks again, Ruth.

    Isaac2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth's place was great for my partner and I to spend the night on our way to Maine's 100 Mile Wilderness. We arrived late in the evening but Ruth still greeted us and made sure we were comfortable. She also had muffins and coffee in the apartment for us which was an excellent touch! The apartment is clean and quaint, with everything you need for a night or a few days. I would certainly recommend Ruth's place to other travelers that are looking for an affordable option in the region.

  • Great clean cabin, bed very comfortable, WiFi worked good for being remote area, washer and dryer was a huge plus when staying for a week. The only issue is if you are going for snowmobiling the access trail To the main trail is not the greatest and no information about clubs or trails , or shops where left in the cabin . Other than that a GREAT PLACE .

Welcome to lakefront living! This house has everything you need for a fantastic summer vacation: three bedrooms, one and half bathrooms, washer and dryer, pull out sofa, outdoor space to play, eat and relax. The living room, connects to the back deck that looks out onto the large backyard and the lake. A paddle boat and two kayaks are available to renters. Off to the side of the house is a fire pit area for evening s'mores. ATV trails & the Appalachian trails are very close.
Everything about this house is great. The floor plan on the main level is open with great lake views from the deck. There's plenty of off street parking. The yard is level and provides room for play. The entire time, you are looking out over the lake. You can motor to the Lakehouse restaurant from the house. There's room to be together and room for personal space. Eat indoor or outdoor, there are plenty of options. Enough parking space for 4 cars. Two Kyacks and paddle boat availabe to renters.
The house is located on a dead end street so there's very little traffic or noise. The Monson general store is 2.5 miles right down road and it has everything from food, to coffee to sandwiches. There is a Hannaford Supermarket in Greenville which is 15 minutes away. It's not huge, but it has everything. There are other Hannaford supermarkets on your way into Monson. Greenville (southern end of Moosehead Lake) has some really great stores. Check out the Moosehead Lake Indian Store. So many good things.
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Carolyn’s place. The location was perfect for our needs. Plenty of room to spread out as a family. The lake was quiet and the water was clear. Good lawn space for playing games with fire pit for roasting marshmallows. Carolyn was quick to answer all questions and even shipped a mixer and cake pans so I could bake a cake for my kids birthday. We would stay again.

  • We loved this house. It was just as advertised. The kitchen has everything you need. The yard is great to hang out in. The back deck with table and swing and a roof was where we spent a lot of time. We did a lot of kayak fishing. The trout and salmon are deep but I did manage to catch 4 decent large mouth bass. We were close to Moosehead Lake and the town of Greenville which is filled with great shops and restaurants. We enjoyed a fun and peaceful week here. Thanks.

  • Great place to stay for snowmobiling , there is a connector trail , a bit rough and over grown but serves its purpose. The club house amenities were all amazing , very clean pool , spa , hot tub , Weight room has all you need for a great workout . Staff was very friendly and helpful . Driveway nice and wide , plenty of parking . Short walk to store if you chose to walk . Cabin was spotless, furniture all in great shape and cozy . Heat works great , gas grill for use , Good water pressure in showers , really everything was really nice . Only thing I found a bit worn is the upstairs bedroom saggy heavy in the middle , overall was a great stay .

My place is close to nature; sitting at the foot of Buker Mountain, elevation 1020 ft. A trail to the top of the mountain offers views of Sebec lake and surrounding mountains. An additional trail to the right, will take you to an abandoned granite quarry. The area is a great spot for hunting and fishing. Additional hiking is a short drive from the camp. It's a great place to unplug. If this property is already booked, check out my camp on the lake! https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15003431?s=51
Cabin in the woods. Fireplace is available for use but we recommend some knowledge of using the damper or you will fill the house with smoke. The cabin has a rustic exterior with modern amenities inside. We offer weekly rates.
The cabin is situated on a town maintained dirt road. It has 3 season access. Most of the neighbors are a good distance away. They are friendly and helpful. Don`t be surprised if someone stops by to chat. I block use of the cabin in the winter, due to the road conditions; the town does not plow the road that passes by the camp. It is available May through November.
  • Beautiful place to go camping. can get lost easily so take your time getting their. enjoy your surroundings.

    Andy2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin has ample room with modern rustic charm. Very large property to enjoy and spend a relaxing weekend away.

    Jaye2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is just like the pictures. If you want a beautiful cabin and rustic country getaway it's just what you're looking for.

    Michelle2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin in the woods is absolutely a great getaway. We have been twice and already want to go back. Very quiet, clean and cozy. Just a perfect spot to escape busy life.

    Chris2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A great secluded spot, wish there was wifi or cell service but we worked our way without it.

    Sabiha2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Vickie is an outstanding host. Her communication is spot on, and she will make you feel right at home. The location is gorgeous, right in the middle of beautiful country woods. Expect that you will be well heated for cold nights, but it's Maine, temperatures can get a bit hot in the summer. Thanks Vickie!

    Stephen2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Vickie's cabin was quaint, cute, and full of personal touches. We were more than comfortable and found it to be better than expected. We mostly used the cabin for sleeping as we went back and forth to another camp on the lake. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had more amenities than expected. The fridge was perfect size for the long weekend. The tv and dvd were used a bit by adults and kids. The bathroom with a full-size tub/shower was excellent. The cabin was neat and clean. We had a great time!

    Shelby2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Vickie's place was absolutely fantastic - exactly what we needed; quiet and beautiful location in the woods, and the cabin was clean, comfortable, and incredibly cozy. The working fireplace was our favorite bit! Also a huge thanks to Vickie to having the area plowed due to last minute snow and saving our weekend plans - fantastic host! We will for sure be back again.

A cozy log cabin in the Moosehead Lake Region of Maine. The cabin is located at The Farm at Moosehead on Rt. 15 Greenville, on the ATV Access Trail. Our cabin offers an open kitchen, dining and living area with a woodstove. There are two bedrooms with queen sized beds and one bath. The Farm is a working homestead farm raising pastured poultry, pigs and rabbits. Our vegetables are grown using organic methods and used on our Brick Oven Pizza.
The cabin is clean, warm and inviting. Feel free to walk out the back door to the spacious yard with lawn furnishings and enjoy our fire pit with a complimentary bundle of Wood. Walk our grounds and enjoy the farm animals and gardens. In our barn is a Wood Fired Kitchen and Farm Store with farm fresh eggs and local farm products.
We are on the main road going into town. It is the ATV access trail that goes into downtown Greenville. Here at Moosehead, wilderness abounds. There are many trails to hike, beaches for swimming, places to picnic, boating and fishing. We are one mile to town for dining and shopping. Our place is very clean and just minutes to Moosehead Lake let us help you find the perfect setting to enjoy our wilderness.
  • What an amazing cabin with hosts that are second to none. We had everything we could ask for during our winter vacation in Greenville. Loved the wood stove, full kitchen, access to the outdoors and the generous tour of the working farm Dawn and Teddy gave our kids. Will definitely plan to stay here again and would highly recommend it to friends and family.

    Mike2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The only problem with our stay was not staying longer. We loved the cabin so much! The wood stove is A+ and the beds are so comfy. Even tho the cabin is close to the street and there’s cars coming and going when the take-out is open, it still feel very private! The ribs and wings were fantastic...a must try. The eggs, cream, and coffee are a wonderful touch, and Dawn could not be any more responsive! These personable hosts make it a wonderful getaway location. Highly recommended!

    Sarah And Richard2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn's has a beautiful, cozy cabin in a great location. Best pizza from the brick oven and the hospitality was outstanding

    Melissa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a beautiful, clean and very well stocked log cabin. We had everything we needed and the hosts were welcoming, helpful and were quick to respond to any need. The check in was effortless, the hosts offered helpful tips for the area and the food at the Barn was amazing. Don't leave without trying the ribs! We were there for snowmobiling and it was great to walk in to a warm cabin with a wood stove. We will definitely go back!

    Sue2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn’s home is so inviting & warm. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is great! They have a lovely food spot next door with great brick oven pizza’s & wings! Can’t wait to visit again!

    Marissa2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is comfortable, clean, well stocked and close to downtown Greenville. We had one small glitch (a light bulb needed replacement) and when we told the hostess she was there within 5 minutes to fix it. We tried the ribs and wings from their store located very close to the cabin and they were excellent and reasonably priced. Their farm fresh eggs are so superior to store bought. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for an enjoyable, peaceful vacation.

    Nora2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn's cabin is a great, comfortable getaway to get around the Moosehead region, and just a short hour + drive to Canada. The place is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything you would need. Their take-out kitchen right next door is a wonderful and convenient addition to the stay. After a long day out exploring the area, just pop next door and order dinner. Thanks again! David

This property is a great location for people interested in vacationing and enjoying all that Maine has to offer. If you enjoy snowmobiling or ATVing, you do not need to trailer anything as the major trails are right near by. Of course, if just staying at the lake and enjoying swimming, fishing or kayaking is your way to vacation then this is the perfect place for you!
The downstairs is the ultimate playroom if the weather is not cooperating. There is a pool table, air hockey table, ping pong table, and shuffle board table. There is also a place for the kids to "crash" with a futon and couch. This place will keep everyone entertained no matter what the interests are!
If you enjoy hiking and exploring, there are trails only 10minutes away that will take your breath away. Borestone Mt., Barron Mt., & Little Wilson Falls are just to name a few. Also, Greenville is only 30 minutes away if you want to explore Maine's largest lake and hike the mountains around there. Guilford is just 10 minutes away with a grocery store and other amenities for your stay.
  • Such a beautiful place and such an amazing experience!

  • I think I can echo just about every good thing I read in all the reviews so far. Dana was an excellent host! We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. This cabin is very nice -- a real 'cottage/camp' with lots of charm. As one reviewer had said, it had plenty room and was quite pleasant to relax in if you were dealing with a rainy day. The spot on the lake is great, with sunshine at various parts of the day, and shade as well. We swam off the dock, kayaked, and enjoyed the outdoor firepit on several nights. Even fired up the free-standing gas flame stove in the living room on some chilly Maine mornings -- great ambience and it kept us cozy and happy. Greenville itself is a nice town with lots to enjoy. We took in an acoustic duo concert at the gazebo one night, did the Katahdin Saturday night dance cruise with a great band and a fun crowd, and enjoyed visiting several of the shops.

    Paul2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great view of the Lake and access to the water. Convenient location and Dana was very helpful and quick to respond to help us plan our trip.

    John2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay! The cabin was great and the location was perfect. Very close to town and the public beach although you can swim right off the dock at the cabin. We really loved the fire pit and the kayaks. The kitchen was nicely stocked with all the cookware and dishes that you need. Plenty of hot water- all 4 of us were able to take showers in a row without running out.

    Heather2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Another perfect trip to Greenville. Lake was unbelievably warm but still refreshing. The cabin has all you need for your stay! Hiked Borestone and little Wilson Falls outside of Monson. Perfect vacation!

    Megan2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Dana’s place is better than described. The cabin is a few feet from the water; Swimming is a few feet away! Kayaks were available. The cabin container all the amenities a guest could ask for! It’s a special place.

    Jim2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved it here. The cabin is exactly as the description and pictures say. Very convenient location and wonderful views. We enjoyed the fire pit at night. We really hope to be back!

    Heather2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing few days! Beautiful cabin with amazing views -- just the peaceful getaway my sister and I needed. The cabin is the perfect size and has everything you need from kitchen supplies, cozy bedrooms, huge windows overlooking the lake, awesome family room & kitchen table, and the best part being outdoors sitting in adirondack chairs overlooking Moosehead Lake -- there wasn't an ounce of stress in my body. Dana was amazing as a host -- top notch communication and ensuring I had the best stay possible. Would recommend 100% and would love to come back.

  • Nancy is a fabulous host! We felt welcome and comfortable, and had some great conversations. Her house is beautiful and has a great history- original wood floors, window sills, cupboards, and furniture. Our bed was warm and comfortable, and we had everything we could possibly need. We would definitely recommend Nancy’s Airbnb and would love to return one day!

  • This airbnb was absolutely an unexpected gem. We only needed a place to stop for the night, but I ended up wishing we had more time to spend here! Nancy's home is gorgeous, so full of character and lovely details (and also smells amazingly of essential oils she uses for her soap-making). The outdoor shower and massive herb garden were a delightful surprise and we enjoyed lounging outside at sunset enjoying our locally made vegan pizza. Nancy was so sweet, communicative and helpful. This was my favorite Airbnb that I've stayed at, I highly recommend!

  • Nancy is as delightful as her amazing home.

    Allice2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Usually we try to book "entire house" because we prefer to be on our own. But because we only needed a place to sleep for a night we decided to book a "private room" And we are glad we did. We arrived late at night and found Nancy in her kitchen baking. One of her other guests came down and we all got acquainted. Later a neighbor dropped by and gave us some advice on places to visit. We sat up talking till we got tired. Her room was perfect. It was upstairs along with another room for rent. And the shared bathroom was right next to ours. The next day Nancy had to leave early and let us check ourselves out. It was such a pleasant experience we decided to try "private room" more often. Talking to the host is a great way to get to know the area. Nancy was terrific and her bed was soft and comfortable. A 10 in my book

  • We just had a wonderful stay here! The cabin was so warm and cozy with the wood stove and had charming touches. There were also wonderful amenities - had everything you would need to cook family meals, plus tips/maps of the area. Would definitely stay again!

  • Wonderful location. Very quiet residential area. Close to many great hiking trails. Will definatly return.

    Eileen2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this stay! Everything was as pictured and very clean. The kitchen was very well stocked. We loved that there were walking trails to follow right from the cabin. We were able to walk right around near the pond and even to a small pebble beach with a bench and swimming dock. No one else was there either time we went and our dogs loved the swimming. We only stayed 2 nights but wished we stayed longer! It was about a 10 min drive to the downtown area.

The cottage is on Sebec Lake. You’ll love my place with views of the lake and mountains.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). It is situated on a plowed road with year round access. There is no cell service or wifi, it is a great place to unplug. There is a phone for local calls. Cell service is available a short drive away. IF this property is already booked, please check out my other camp in the woods. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/13777392?s=51
The camp is situated right on the water with panoramic views of the lake and mountains. It is also next door to the boat launch.
    Quiet and friendly.
  • Our stay was great. The cottage was comfortable and the location can't be beat. Quiet and beautiful yet ten minutes from town. Relaxing places to sit and eat throughout the house and grounds. Cottage is well equipped in all ways. Our visit was worth every five of the stars were gave.

  • Perfect place to unwind by the lake. The house itself is gorgeous and well kept, with splendid views of the lake. Would definitely visit again

    Parshva2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Vickie's place was conveniently located on the lake and just a walk away from a boat rental place. Very quiet and peaceful weekend. One thing to note is that there is no service in the area and the home does not offer wifi. In addition the house line only works for local calls. Other than that this place is great and I would recommend!

Located in the picturesque Indian Point area of Lake Hebron in Monson Maine, the Finch Camp is a classic Northwoods Maine cabin and lakeside property in the Moosehead Lake region. The two-story heated cabin has rustic charm with modern comforts & amenities. The rental also includes two kayaks and a nice canoe, plus full access to our private lakeside area and dock just steps from the cottage.
NOTE ABOUT RECENT REVIEW: Due to an inadvertent double booking of the property, I was forced to cancel a reservation this past summer for the first and only time. This was a one-time error due to a glitch in my calendaring system which is now fully synced with my external listings, so this will NOT occur again. I felt terrible about having to cancel and was extremely accommodating to the cancelled party, providing a full refund of all booking fees PLUS a $100 additional refund. I also worked diligently to help them find an alternative rental property. Note that the guest did not provide a negative review -- this site automatically posts a review if a host cancels a reservation. You will note also that all of my other reviews are excellent. Please rest assured that if you book this property you will NOT be hit with a surprise cancellation. Thank you for your understanding and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. -Dave F. Located in the gorgeous Indian Point area of Lake Hebron in Monson Maine, the Finch Camp is a historic cabin and lovely and serene adjacent lakeside property. The two-story cabin was the first to built on Lake Hebron in the late 1800s, upgraded for modern comforts while still retaining its rustic charm. The cabin is just steps away from our dock on Lake Hebron, in a beautiful private grassy area nestled among the trees and adjacent to the cottage. Our lake area includes lawn chairs and a fire pit. The dock is great for swimming or mooring your watercraft. We provide two Old Town kayaks and a nice canoe for use on the calm lake. Staying at the Finch Camp is a throwback to earlier times, with delicious fresh spring water provided via an antique hand-pumped well in front of the camp and running water inside. The heated cabin has a large country kitchen with a gas oven/stove. The large living room has an oversized fireplace that does a great job warming the camp on cool spring and fall nights. (We close it up in the winter.) The large wraparound porch includes a gas BBQ grill and a relaxing screened area. It's a pleasant walk to the quaint town of Monson or the nearby Appalachian Trail access, and a short car ride up the scenic Moosehead Trail Road to Moosehead Lake and the many other activities in the area, including waterfalls, hiking trails, farms, and nearby lakes and streams. Monson is a very friendly town, with several must-stop restaurants, a friendly pub, and a new fully equipped general store with fresh fruits and veggies, fresh coffee, and a nice deli. Monson has long been recognized as a stopover for hikers on the final leg of the 2,180 mile Appalachian Trail. It is recognized by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy as one of only 21 official Appalachian Trail Communities along the trail, which stretches from Georgia to Maine. The ideal seasons to visit are late spring/early summer through mid-fall. Late spring is great for fishing and relaxing; summer is wonderful for swimming, hiking, fishing, kayaking, grilling, etc.; and early to mid-fall provides a quieter time to visit to soak in the beautiful fall colors, crisp weather, and peaceful tranquility of the lake. Lake Hebron is known by locals to be one of the most beautiful of the many Lakes in the area.
The area has other camps with very friendly neighbors and guests. During the summer, the camp provides a great opportunity to meet other families on the neighboring docks.
  • If you like quiet and the outdoors in a comfortable cabin with lots of room, this is the place. We really enjoyed the peaceful setting and swimming in beautiful Lake Hebron.

  • We truely enjoyed our time at the Finch Camp. It's a well maintained camp and I loved the rustic charm. I can't wait to book another week next year. It was the perfect family vacation, a real getaway from the hustle bustle of our normal schedule. A return to swimming, kayaking, hiking and board games was a welcome to us. We made many beautiful memories.

    Aimee2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great old fashioned Maine hunting camp. Water access, canoe, kayaks etc. Even an old fashioned hand pump outside for fresh, cold, clean drinking water. Thanks Dave.

  • Our stay at the Finch camp was wonderful. It was very comfortable and clean. It was very peaceful and quiet at the house. The private lake access across the street was nice for some family fishing. Would highly recommend the Finch camp for a relaxing family vacation.

    Amanda2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dave's place is absolutely amazing! It is beautifully situated on gorgeous lake Hebron and offers an ideal combination of serenity and convenience as it is outside of the town (Monson) but not too far from it. We found the rooms and beds great and the kitchen perfectly equipped. On top of that Dave provided us with a Kayak that turned out to be the biggest attraction of our trip. I recommend this cabin wholeheartedly and hope that we will be back next year!

  • Loon Shores is a wonderful place to spend time enjoying the magical beauty of Sebec Lake. It is clean and comfortable, with thoughtful touches throughout. We found almost everything we needed in the well-stocked kitchen and laundry. The space accommodated our group of five adults and two children splendidly, and the dock worked great with our boat (and visitors' boats). Swimming, boating, kayaking, and fishing are excellent. And the hosts are fantastic! We are already hoping to go back.

  • Brenda's place was just what we were looking for on our recent weekend away in central Maine. Very clean and cozy. Brenda's design sense means there are thoughtful (and creative) touches throughout the place. And it was nice and warm, even during a cold weekend. We were lucky enough to meet Brenda and her partner, and they provided some great suggestions for places in the area to check out. We'd love to come back in the summer to further explore the property (and surrounding area)!

  • Beautiful home in lovely Dover - Foxcroft. Beautifully decorated with unique furniture and elegant style. Sparkling clean and when we had a slight issue with the trundle bed, our hosts were there within 5 minutes to help us fix the issue. Thanks so much for an awesome stay and we will be back!

    Denise2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • The barn was absolutely amazing, every room was extremely unique from the next and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The town of Dover-Foxcroft is very charming and it was a perfect long weekend getaway. Although we didn’t get to meet Brenda, we did meet her husband rob and he was so welcoming and informative about how they have renovated the space. The grounds are just as gorgeous as the inside of the home. The thought and detail that has gone into this home is absolutely unbelievable. One of the best Airbnb experiences we have ever had and we will most definitely be coming back!
