This was possibly the best airbnb I've ever stayed at. Rose put so much love and care into our stay! This place is PERFECT. Beautiful scenery and everything was immaculate ! Thank you Rose!

Rose was amazing to work with! A couple girls and I came here for a bachelorette glamping get away to save money and just have a good time together. It was perfect for this! We were at max capacity so it was a little snug if we were all hanging out in the kitchen/main area inside, but it was perfect going between the fire pit, outside area and inside. Rose kept me updated with everything and was so helpful, even left us awesome treats! We drank, worked on projects for the upcomming wedding, went to a rumage sale down the street at the senior center (open Saturdays&Thursdays), did photoshoots, cooked and hung out at the bonfire. I highly suggest to bring your own food! It was raining off and on and the heater inside was perfect and kept everywhere warm. I slept in one of the above bunk beds, I suggest if you plan on having the max guests that there are guests that won't be bothered with getting up on a bunk, me and the other girl who used these had no problem and were not clausterphobic so being close to the ceiling was not an issue. The beds were pretty comfy! I slept great both nights we stayed. There was lots of room for food storage, a good sized fridge, stove & oven to work with, no microwave or toaster but that wasn't an issue for us, we don't mind cooking. Overall a great weekend getaway with a great host!

Rose put some homemade cookies and fruit for us which was a nice treat. The place (glamper, terras with 2 BBQ spots, big monopoly board attached to the ground, old washer used as outside fireplace...) itself is really neat. It was hot, at night cool so the cooler was not needed but their in case you need it. The lizards made it special. Highly recommended if you want to inhale the Mojave next to route 66. On my next passing through I'll come back.

Such a great find in the desert! We have two small kids and they didn't want to leave, the small space has all you would need for a comfortable and fun stay. I only wish it weren't so cold so that we could have enjoyed the outdoor area.

Our stay in the "glamper" was very nice. It is so clean and colorful, and Rose provides above and beyond my previous ABnB stays, with snacks and other goodies, the A/C on, and a coffee pot ready to go! It was the perfect stop over on our long journey from CA to Arizona and on our return as well. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at Rose and Ron's glamper for one night. Never having stayed in a glamper or in the desert before, we weren't quite sure what to expect and were worried it would be unbearably hot since the daytime temp was around 115 F. But arriving in the Mojave desert late at night was a pleasant surprise and since the aircon had been on for a while, we glamper was cool and comfortable. We would highly recommend staying here - a fun and different experience - and especially to enjoy the amazing starry sky at night. Amazing!

Had a wonderful stay at Route66 house, the house is fully stocked with everything you would ever need for a day to a month stay! I was there for a week and just had a blast. The host Jonathan is very helpful and he answered my texts back very fast. Offered some information to some very cool places to go to play at. The house and property is just beautiful and very well kept from the furniture to the most comfortable bed to a awesome shower. If I am ever in the area again I will ask to stay here for sure. Thanks Jonathan for such a wonderful stay and being so kind.

Jonathan was super at questions and answers a few months before the actual stay, up through departure. The property is very nicely maintained, fully stocked facility with entertainment, foods, household items, land, etc! We loved staying here for 3 weeks, as it absolutely beats living out of a hotel! We were able to fill up the fridge and pantry with foods we purchased during our stay; cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner; have BBQs; fire pit fun; movies; games; etc. We brought our own toys as well e.g., mountain bike(s), workout equipment, espresso machine, blender, measuring cups, spices, etc. ... but most of that stuff was already there ;-) Having the garages available for vehicles, toys, and work equipment was awesome ... we got workouts and bike rides in almost everyday we were there! It is also in a super convenient (yet secluded) location for us. Next time we have to come out, this place is definitely on our list. Thanks for everything Jonathan!!!

Jonathan was an amazing host - very helpful and informative at all times, and super quick to respond to questions! We had an awesome stay at the house, which was super clean, well-stocked with essentials, and in a fantastically secluded locale. Lots of space and all the amenities you could want for a weekend retreat! Seriously, we had a great time, and will hopefully come back for another visit sometime in the future!

This was truly a magnificent experience, for my entire group! Accommodations: the house itself has more than enough space for 8 to 10 people --we only brought five. The kitchen and cupboard is stocked with the supplied for cooking. Of course, bring your own food, but don't worry about the oil, butter, pans, knives, bowls, cups,etc. If you can remember it, they have it. The house is relaxing, clean, comfortable, and perfect for a weekend getaway or longer. The campfire was perfect for star gazing and lounging with friends. We spotted one scorpion, but honestly, jonathan provided a bunch of high intensity flashlights that kept us safe and aware of our surroundings at night. The surroundings: we explored the ghost town ( more touristy than we thought it would be), and then the ATV accessible mountainous Yermo area. Note: we were able to walk and climb around and had ample fun I absolutely beautiful surroundings. Our host, jonathan: Jonathan responded to every question and contact promptly, with the exact info we needed. He was helpful at all hours, and so kind to offer us the accommodations he did! I highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone who wants a unique, beautiful, friend-filled getaway.

Spent only one night, but it was a great one! Linda and his husband are lovely people, that will immediately make you feel at home. They are social people if you want to enjoy the company, and will give you space and privacy if you want it. The room is spacious, the bed extremely comfortable, and you get a private bathroom. Plus, they served me a lovely breakfast, which is a perk you not usually get with such a cheap accommodation. 5-star experience!

Linda was absolutely amazing! Her and her husband were extremely friendly from once we arrived until we left. They provided fresh linens and an excellent room. Everything was as described on the airbnb website. I was even surprised with a hearty breakfast in the following morning. Another added bonus was free Wifi and a very cute dog. Very glad I had a chance to stay there.

Had a great last-minute stay with Linda and her husband! We came in pretty late but he met us in the driveway (where there's plenty of parking) and they were extremely welcoming. The neighborhood is safe and right off the highway. The house/room were very clean and the bed was great. They had a little dog that is the friendliest thing ever. We left super early in the morning, but they made us coffee in to-go cups and had granola bars for us to take as well. Extremely accommodating and friendly! :) Highly recommend!!

My husband and I stayed with Linda and Bobby only one night but they were extremely nice with us, they provided us with information for our trip and they even prepared us breakfast! The house was perfectly clean. We won't hesitate staying at Linda's again if we ever come back.

Linda and her family are my idea of the perfect hosts. Their beautiful yet unpretentious home was clean and comfortable throughout, especially the well-appointed bed. The whole Benavides family eagerly attended to our every need, even anticipating some needs we didn't know we had. Although I am a cat loving person I have to say that their little dog Roxy is an angel with 4 legs. We can't wait to stay there again and will gladly go extra miles on our next trip in order to be able ensure that we do just that. We felt unwelcome and restricted. We decided to leave after staying at the place for a few hours. The host asked me 3 times whether the dog is potty trained or not which I told her when I requested the place. The host reminded me twice to take the dog out for potty. When we were trying to comfort our son, she asked us whether he will cry at night, she have concerns for your other guest. He is 18 months, you know when you accept my stay. It's totally normal for a 18 months to cry at night. Then she suggested us to take him to the living room, I politely said no since I felt she were not welcome and I mentioned my son may touch your stuff. She said, he is not suppose to touch anything in the living room. What? you expect a 18 months in the living room not touching anything?

Staying at Linda's was very nice! They were very accommodating to my late arrival and made a yummy breakfast in the morning! I would stay again!

Linda and her husband are very welcoming, as was their dog Roxy. We also appreciated the private parking on the premises as we were moving all of our stuff. The breakfast burrito was also a highlight.

Linda was extremely flexible with our varying arrival time which ended up being quite late. After a long day on the road and comfortable sleeping arrangements, we were presented with coffee and hot breakfast in the morning. Linda is extremely knowledgeable regarding SoCal and traveling around/through Barstow. I hope to stay at her place again!

George is the best Airbnb host anyone can ask for. He replies within minutes and is as helpful as he can be. He is flexible and willing to accommodate with all of our request! George is willing to go out of his way and research and help with any questions we had. The camp site itself is amazing. There are so many stars and very very quiet at night. The trailer provides some sort of shade throughout the day. Although it was end of August. The sun was bearable and night is nice and cool. The whole desert camping experience is comfortable and pleasant. The campsite overlooks Lucerne Valley and the mountains surrounding the area. There is no electricity or water, but the camp site is perfect for an RV, plenty of space to park it. George's camp site even has a small fire pit that you can toast some marshmallow. Overall, highly recommended to stay with George.

This campsite was so peaceful and the views of the desert landscape were stunning. We loved watching the sunset and the building a small fire to roast marshmallows. This was some of the best stargazing I have ever seen! We brought a tent and slept so well due to the cool temperatures at night. Hope to return in the future!

When we camped the trailer wasn't available yet. So this is based off of the land. We had a blast camping. It is just raw land so no water, bathrooms, facilities of any type. Be weather ready (definitely bring a pop up for shade in hot weather). Fire pit worked out great, just be sure to realign or strengthen it before starting a fire (the bricks are not plastered together so they will move/fall if you lean heavier wood on it. Camping was great!

Prime camping location. Amazing sunrise and sunset. It's only a couple minutes walk from where you leave the car to where you camp. Definitely recommended for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle

Stars were SO amazing and fields of flowers were in full bloom. Perfect for dog owners, but definitely not a place for the unadventurous or inexperienced camper. Wind picked up during one of the nights and some light sprinkling woke us up, so be prepared for whatever the desert weather throws at you. Vic is very quick with communication and pleasant to work with. Overall it was a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle.

Beautiful, secluded spot great for relaxing and enjoying the desert and the night sky. There is only one visible neighbor and they are quite a distance away. Very peaceful place.

Very cool spot and a nice location especially considering camping around barstow area is fairly limited. It's a great place overall and a really nice piece of land. I didn't see any snakes which I was kinda hoping for, just not too close up but there are a ton of small shrubs around so be on the lookout and consider a snake bite/bee kit which is good to have anyway especially in secluded places. The dirt road is very short and mostly fine grain sand not gravel which is a little dustier but overall very easy to drive on in any car. My chevy volt handled it well I just let some air out of my tires just in case but it's such a short distance on unpaved roads it's totally not necessary. One recommendation I would make is to plan not to source your drinking water from the town around camp for water quality issues. Get it from at least as far away is Barstow. Definitely worth the visit and a great price.

What an interesting experience. Life just feels different when you are essentially secluded in the middle of the desert. While you can see a few cabins off in the distance, they are so far away that you still feel isolated. Arrived there in the late afternoon, and basically stood still for quite some time to appreciate the silence. Wish my milky way pics came out better but probably cause im a noob

If you're looking for a remote weekend in the desert, this is your place. Didn't see a single person the whole time I was there. Extremely peaceful. I would definitely recommend!

We had a great time at the campsite and surrounding area! Lots of wide open space -- my dog was in heaven. But it is important to remember that it is a desert. There is a whole ecosystem there, so remember to clean up all garbage. Hot days and COLD nights. Come prepared and you'll have a great time. No running water or electricity, but my internet worked fine. No problems whatsoever driving my minivan there.

We didn't know what were getting into with a stay at a real working farm, but it was a wonderful experience that we won't soon forget. I can't say enough about how much we loved it! Serina's love for the farm and the animals there is contagious. My kids (6 & 3) helped her feed and groom the animals twice a day and looked forward to each time she texted that it was feeding time. She was always available to answer any questions we had during our stay. Even before we arrived, Serina let me know that the house is being renovated but it was comfortable and had everything we needed.

Serina greeted us upon our arrival, giving us a tour of the house, explaining the layout of the farm, and answering a bunch of our questions. She was very flexible both mornings with the feeding times so the kids, slow out of bed, could participate. They had an awesome time getting to milk the goat, feed pigs, etc. Big bear lake is just a short drive over the mountain and we went both afternoons even though the farm is s great place to hang and relax for a day. Don't forget it's a real working farm, not a resort.

Serina was the greatest host and communication was always open. We felt very welcome and my family is still talking about the amazing time that they had. Great for a huge extended family or large group. The house is huge. It was so nice to be away from a City and get back to a simple way of life for a while. Gravel Road, no street lights,..... serenity. Waking up and helping to feed the animals was so much fun. Groceries, small restaurants and the general store was like ten minutes away so it was convenient. The large beautiful blood hounds have full run of the farm and they were very sweet and gentle. They love to follow you around and be petted. So you must be an animal lover. We would definitely do this again.

We had 5 families staying here and all had a good time. Feeding animals and milking goats are fun. And the rooms are big enough to give every one space. They have a giant living room and dining table perfect that many people we have. Serina is just helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place for retreat and bear mountain travelers .

Well, it's an older home and it could've used a little more attention to detail in cleanliness, but overall my friends and family had a wonderful time at the farm, milking the goats, and skiing in big bear.

Penny was a wonderful and kind host. The property is remote and the surrounding desert is lovely. The trailer is delightfully vintage, clean and comfortable. I was in the area on business and had booked myself in for 3 nights but stayed only one for the simple reason that my cell carrier is Verizon and I lost reception about a mile from the property. Also, the reverse osmosis system mentioned in the description is non-functioning, Penny however kindly provided bottled water.

I'm from the suburbs of Silicon Valley and this was a very unique experience for me to be so far away from all the hubbub of life in the suburbs! Penny made me feel very welcome when I arrived and it was immediately clear that she wanted to make sure I was comfortable. Her description of the desert trailer hideaway is spot on accurate. The view from the comfortable wooden adirondack chairs outside the trailer is nothing but desert, with sunrise to the left and sunset to the right, and an amazing number of stars at night. I sat out there listening to a gentle, warm breeze one whole afternoon and heard nothing else (except the distant clucking of chickens.) The experience was like being close to nature, yet having a very clean, comfortable bed, electricity, running hot/cold water, a functioning retro kitchen and bathroom, and plenty of privacy. Not "glamping" exactly, but along those lines. I wished I had thought to turn the quiet, efficient heater on before I went to sleep because it got very cold in the trailer at night. Once I turned the heat on it became cozy very quickly! If you're curious about life in the Mojave desert, and want to unplug for a while, here's your chance! I will definitely go back!

We felt that we were part of doug and cindy family. Altought the weather was poor we could not ienjoy the out side mamienties. The surrounding vieu was amazing of the city of apple valley. I would suggest that need a weekend to rucup then this the place to go. LiI

This is my second time to spend nights in Douglas' house. Last time a year earlier by myself, this time I came with my wife and daughter. We arrived later at night than planned, but Douglas and his family waited to welcome us. We all like this place very much. My wife said the house decorations are excellent!

When we arrived, the family was here and propose us to join them for the meal. That was very cool, they really wanted to know more things about us. The house is absolutely gorgeous, Dough prepared us The Spa, we were like " alone un the world, in the middle of the nature". The house was clean, very beautiful, and so special! Very Nice job Dough ;) The all family was nice and had a super conversation with us. In the morning we had a super breakfast, and advices about the road to drive. You should visit them guys !! The host of this Airbnb, Doug, was very welcoming and eager to get to know us. However it was a shame that the property itself let him down. The pictures on the Airbnb website were far from the truth. We were initially attracted to the property by it's beautiful looking pool- sadly the photos were not reflective of the pool in reality. The pool was in bad condition; very unclean and unusable. There was a severe lack of restaurants and other amenities nearby, requiring a relatively long drive. Also as the advert states that the property beds 3, we were disappointed to discover that one person was required to sleep on a mattress on the floor. Having done a road trip around CA and having stayed in a variety of accommodation, this property was definitely overpriced. It is a shame that the property and its amenities let the host down.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The whole family were really welcoming, and their house is gorgeous. The room is large and spacious, and I was encouraged to make use of all the facilities (like the pool and spa), which I loved. Would definitely come back here again - the family look after there guests very very well.

This was the first time I used air bnb, and I had a wonderful experience staying with the Vance family. They were so hospitable and kind. They were very attentive to our needs as guests, and my boyfriend and I left very happy. Doug has a beautiful home which sits at the highest point in the valley, overlooking a beautiful view. The home sits right in front of a massive rock formation great for hiking as well! I felt very comfortable staying with their family. We plan on going back this summer when it's a little warmer so we can enjoy the pool! They also have the cutest, most friendly dog ever. We can't wait to see her again too (:
