We arrived in the middle of the night and we're late because of issues with our rental car but Sue still stayed up, met us at the door, made us feel really comfortable and gave us heaps of good tips for our first NT trip. It was just what we needed after a long flight. We would recommend her beautiful house to anyone that comes to visit Darwin. It's only a 10 minute drive from the airport and 10 minutes from the city.

Sue was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We loved staying here and especially enjoyed the pool and BQQ area. The rooms have everything you need plus more and the downstairs shared area is very spacious and well equipped. Would definitely recommend.

Our family of 6 (including three teens and a 6 month old) had a wonderful stay. We felt very comfortable - with plenty of space and great amenities. The teenagers were able to have their own rooms with ensuite and kitchenette but we were able to come together each evening for dinner in the main kitchen and have a swim in the afternoons. Very close to town (five minute drive) for convenience. The rooms, sheets and towels were cleaned twice during our stay. We ran into Sue a few times for a chat and she was very helpful but still had plenty of privacy. Great stay - thanks Sue!

Sue is an absolutely fantastic host with so much knowledge and passion for the Northern territory. She is so welcoming and her place is beautifully kept. The room we stayed in was spacious and with our own kitchenette and spa bathroom. I'd definitely recommend a stay here!

Sue was very professional , everything was well communicated Sues place is better than what pictures show , this property is luxurious and beautiful . Rooms are very clean, well equiped and beautifully decorated . We had a lovely stay there with my 2 kids Sue offered us a family room.

After a week of camping, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The house is amazing and the room was a great size for our family of five. It was immaculate, topped off with all the trimmings you'd expect from a high end stay. The hosts were both extremely accommodating made us feel very relaxed. Our dog had a securely fenced yard and he was even happy! We will definitely using this accommodation again.

Sue was there to greet us on arrival, even though it was a midnight flight. The room had everything you could possibly need. The kitchen and rest of the home did also, unfortunately, due to illness we did not utilise this area. Sue was there if you needed her, only a phone call or text away. She also respected privacy and only contacted you as necessary. The location is great, so close to the CBD and inner city suburbs. Markets and events at the Waterfront are also very close. We would have done a lot more had there not been illness in the family.

Fantastic stay - felt like a true Darwin experience. Kathi and family were all great hosts. A real sense of privacy in the rooms. We stayed with an infant and Kathi and the kids went above and beyond sharing their toys with our daughter.

Kathrin and her family were welcoming and helpful and we always felt safe with Barney their gentle, intelligent German Shepherd around. Their downstairs area is cool and spacious with views of the pool and tropical garden and pleasant breezes through the open louvres. Also appreciated provision of fan, airconditioning and wifi. Location is pleasant and convenient being in a residential area with a shady park and playground across the road and an easy distance to shops being between Casuarina (Darwin's largest shopping centre) and Hibiscus (a smaller centre with Woolworths and a newsagency. Nearby is Casuarina beach with fabulous sunsets and de la Plage cafe great for a morning coffee.

We had an amazing stay in a beautiful ground floor apartment in Darwin. Situated in a calm, nice neighbourhood this house is a stone throw away from the city, the markets and within walking distance of Darwins biggest shopping centre. The owners, who are very friendly and welcoming live upstairs and will help you find your way in this small but very pleasant city. We couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay and can truly recommend it to anyone visiting Darwin.

Having arrived very early into Darwin airport Kathi allowed us entry to her house which was a huge help to us. I'm sure this wouldn't always be possible but we loved the flexibility our hosts showed on this occasion. The house in Wanguri is positioned in a quiet & safe suburb of Darwin within a 20 minute drive to the city & a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach. Kathi's house is a traditional Darwin family home that you immediately feel part of due to the fabulous hosts - Kathi & Tim, their 2 beautiful children & Barney the dog. They are a hugely friendly family & we were made to feel very much at home whilst maintaining our privacy. Watch out for the friendly tree frog in the bathroom & take Kathi's advice about the cafe on the beach - we did & the food & view were amazing!

We enjoyed to stay at Tropical Darwin Getaway and Kathrin and family were very nice. We wish this will be our constant place to stay while we are back in Darwin. Thank you

Loved staying here, thanks Tim and Kathrin. Comfy, clean, very close to the shops, beach, markets and airport. The Dixon family is super sweet and adorable including Barnesy (the gentle German Shepherd) and the toilet tree frog (who provided a bit of bathroom entertainment!).

Katin was a fantastic host. the room was comfortable and i was grateful for the fan with the high humidity. Bunsy (the dog) was friendly once he knew me and the pool was welcoming in the afternoons. I would recommend staying here.

Mark & Amanda were beyond exceptional hosts. They communicated fast and often went above and beyond in hosting us. The campfire was a highlight, where we got to cook fresh Aussie BBQs each night of our stay and the location was perfectly situated in Outback Australia - 5mins from the Town Centre. Mark & Amanda were flexible with check-in/out, had great suggestions for us, and are a beautiful couple with great kids. We will definitely be back here for another Outback retreat.

Why stay in a hotel where the people can be impersonal, when you can meet Amanda and Mark. Fantastic hosts excelling beyond expectations, great place to stay only 5k's from town. I had the pleasure of staying at Kate & Carney's house for 4 nights whilst working in the Katherine area. Kate and her family were not at home during my stay as they were themselves taking a holiday. The house was very clean and tidy upon arrival with clear instructions left on use of appliances. The house was very cool despite the warm weather. I would have no hesitation in staying in the circumsatances arise in the future.

It was a nice place to stay at. The room was very clean and it was close to the town. Very homely! The hosts were very helful and friendly, and even though i accedently booked the wrong dates, they were able to fix it very quickly.

We loved staying here! From relaxing in the outdoor bath to stargazing over the ranges from our extremely comfortable bed - it was perfect. If you do one thing in alice springs, make sure you stay at this cottage. The photos don't do it justice! Not only was it a great spot but it was clean and perfectly set up for our arrival. Our stay at the cottage was fantastic. Clinton and Marley were so incredibly accommodating setting up a real cot and providing us with a high chair too. The kitchen had a great selection of tea, the bath on the hill was spectacular, especially at sunset. Great shower as well. The photos don't do the place justice, it's a great cottage, with great alfresco dining area too!

WOW. What a stunning location this property is, nestled in the rocks out of town. Marli and Clinton are the most beautiful hosts. I loved chatting around the camp fire, and Cuddles with Jojo. My husband and I really loved our stay at The Cottage. The house is set in a beautiful and extremely quiet setting; you can really enjoy a fascinating scenery and local wildlife just 10-15 minutes away from Alice Springs CBD. The Cottage is very nice, clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the pleasure of the outdoor swimming pool as well. While we hadn't had the chance to meet Clinton and his family, he was extremely prompt and well-organised in replying to all our emails prior to the trip. So, on the whole, I would fully recommend The Cottage and I would surely go back if in Alice Springs.

I really enjoyed staying in the jungle with all those friendly people. I haven't met Suzy, but Olly was around and made me feel comfortable immediately. As it was such a good starting point for my trip to Australia, I stayed a week instead of only three days. This is a great place to stay for people who like to meet travellers and locals.

At the end i spend two weeks in this little paradise! Beautiful place atmosphere and very nice people! All manage by the owner Susy who is just very interesting woman. Sharing the experience. You will never feel alone and at the same time you can have place to rest. Beautiful armony in the jungle!

Suzy's place is a great one. Friendly people, lovely house, amazing environment always protecting you from the sun and really close to bus stops and mall. Will definitely recommend this place!

What can I say about Suzy's jungle?! It really was an experience if anything. There are so many interesting people staying there that to simply visit to mingle and observe daily life in the house is worth it itself. Suzy is a great host and ensured I was being taken care of. She dropped me to the city one day and also dropped me to the airport on the night of my departure. One must be willing to share and open up about themselves and their personal experiences in this place to feel in this home.

It was an amazing experience to stay in the jungle with the jungle crew. So many interesting people living there. Suzy is a brilliant story teller. And it's definetely an unique place to stay. Easy going and relaxing. I enjoyed it it very much and extended my stay. Keep in mind that it's an commune and not a hotel. Thank you to the jungle crew for your company! Thank you Suzy!

Suzy's house is an incredible, eccentric location with a luscious garden and endless details to discover in the multitude of rooms. There are numerous guests and it's an excellent place to meet young, interesting people whether they are travelling or working in the area. The proximity to the airport is also highly enjoyable. At times, it might get a bit crowded, but it's mostly a very recommendable and warm experience.

Although the rainforest retreat was intriguing, the hostess was without precedent. The private room was not available so I slept in the living room, there was no internet connectivity although Suzy maintained there was. The sheets were soiled, and inadequate for the night time temperatures (I was cold). The next day Suzy then launched into a verbal attack on me in front of other people when I had provided absolutely no basis for same. I left one night early and although I met some very nice people staying at the rainforest retreat, I could never in good conscience recommend Suzy, Krushe-Mountburton.

It was awsome to aarove in darwin and stay at a place with so many good people. Suzy is a good carracter person how likes to share storys.

Nice and quiet place to stay in Darwin. Patrick is really friendly and easygoing. We were his first guests and will no doubt come back if we happen to be in the area again !

An wonderful experience staying with Pollyanna and her sweet family. Very roomy, quiet neighborhood close to town. They were so welcoming that we wish we could have stayed longer. A real gem of a stay!

Met at door by owners (and dog). Shown rooms and amenities (separate shelf in fridge was good). Rooms and facilities nice and clean. District is rural, so very quiet. Dog was VERY friendly. Smokers will love the open spaces around the property. Overall a pleasant stay (1 week)

Sandra was great! We arrived late at night and she had no problem with that and was very easy to communicate with. The house is very spacious and nice, the bathroom is beautiful! Shame we didn't get to use the massive bathtub..I totally recommend staying there and it comes with the added bonus of their gorgeous dog Bella! Thanks Sandra!

Hosts were very friendly as was Bella, the dog. If you're a non-smoker you will notice the smell of smoke in the house even though it is all outside. Didn't bother us too much, but if you're sensitive it's something to consider. The rooms and bathroom are spacious. One room has A/C, the other only a fan, which wasn't a problem except that there was only one speed....fast or off...the low and medium didn't seem to work. We only stayed one night, but would consider again.

Very friendly, helpful and respectful of privacy. Travelling to Darwin for work required 2 buses. Its a family home so there were times when I had to go out although Tania said I was welcome to join in. It was my first time in shared accommodation and it's not really my cup of tea. However it was a nice, quiet and comfortable place to stay until I found my own place.

Thank you Tania for your hospitality! That was the good final night in Oz! She has done everything for me to feel welcome. As the airport is at 30 min away she even proposed me to drop me there. That's so nice ! I definitely recommend this host :) Cheers

Lovely, warm and very welcoming host. Tania and liane went out of thier way to assist with my arrival which was a little complicated at first but they did everything possible to put my mind at ease. Very clean,calm and relaxed environment with plenty of room both inside and out. Located very close to restaurants and shopping centre tania's BnB is about 15 mins to the city of Darwin by car and offers a very friendly affordable home able to accommodate anyone. I highly recommend this accomodation if you intend to stay in this area as it is exactly as described.

Loved our stay here, it's such a colourful and beautiful home. The unusual floor tiles and all the art work make this little gem very unique. Maggie was extremely helpful and easy to contact. I would recommend eating dinner in the garden under the fairy lights and stars, followed by a dip in the spa with a gin and tonic. we would definitely come back! Cannot recommend enough.

Best Airbnb experience ever. This house is just like staying at a really cool art gallery. Most mornings I would find myself waking early just to walk around and explore the different rooms, decked out with the most interesting decor and art work. Loved the book collection too! Maggie was excellent to deal with - super friendly and responsive. Would love to come back and stay again!

We received great instructions prior to our arrival and were greeted by a very well kept and caringly decorated home - lots of fun funky art and plants all throughout. It's a spacious, comfortable place to come back to after a long day of trekking around Katherine Gorge.

I want to say it's terrible so that it's available whenever I come through however this amazing house is a step back in time, it's set on a quiet street with a resort style feel. A lovely pool/spa that i didn't get to try but was a the perfect temperature. I slept like so well whilst I was there, I was even messaged a need to know guide that told me everything i could need to know and more. 10/10 i'll be back again!
