My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time in this apartment---close to restaurants and a grocery store. There were two TV's and two air conditioners (one in the living room, and one in the bedroom), so that was a nice perk, as it was a sweltering 9 days! It was clean, and well-equipped with pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils, paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, linens, bath towels, and dish towels. Gee, the owner, is very attentive to questions prior to staying there. I give it the highest rating, as I was truly not expecting the apartment and amenities to be as nice as they were. Thank you, Gee, for a wonderful stay. We'll be back!

The apartment has all the necessary appliances and is very clean and comfortable. My fiancee and I will definitely be coming back in the future.

We were a group of 7 and rented the villa for a six night stay in May/June. The SilverLime Villa was immaculate and perfect for our friendship getaway. Maurice was helpful and on hand when needed which wasn't often as the place was so well prepared and maintained. There is the option to hire a chef for morning and evening meals and we opted in for several of our nights. It was the best decision besides picking the villa! Miss Muriel is an amazing chef everything's she touched turned into one of the best meals we've ever had! The only thing better than her food was her personality I swear if I could keep her I would! If you decide to book the villa, and you should, you should definitely add the chef option. The only con is that we wanted to use the washer but as the cleaning staff was constantly using it we weren't able to. Even when we requested a set day we were never told when during that day we could use it.

What a great place! I had a great week at Silver Lime Villa. Maurice is a wonderful host. Ms. Davis, who lives right downstairs, keeps the house sparkling clean and is very helpful. The pool was refreshing and clean. The kitchen had great cooking utensils and we did lots of cooking. For fussy Americans, there is no AC in the living room, but you can open the doors for a nice breeze. And in case you're wondering, there is an actual lime tree, with tasty limes galore. I didn't want to leave and I hope to return one day soon.

The villa was beautiful, just behind a hotel resort at the end of a street. It was big with an open plan dining room and living room space. There were 3 of us and so I had my own room and my 2 friends shared. Still there were plenty of space . There were surrounding houses, but we were the loudest haha! The private pool was great we swam morning and night. Just beyond the opposite house was a beach. I was too scared to swim there with all the rocks, but the view was breathtaking. I could sit there and listen to the waves for hours. The best part was the staff. Maurice our host was a star, kind and helpful. Anything we needed he was there on hand to advise us and tell us the best places to eat or visit. Mauriel the cook made meals for us upon request. You should definitely request the cook even for 1 night. She made some of the best food I've had. We had a great laugh and I will miss her. Ms.Davies is quiet and polite, she kindly washed our clothes for a small fee. I loved that we had the place to ourselves, we played cards with the Maurice until the morning, had parties and had a great time. It was the perfect place to stay during our 1st week in Jamicia and with Ocho Rios only 20 mins away it was quiet enough to be private and close enough to neighbouring parishes that we could sightsee and visit the tourist attractions.

This is a very nice property and it is as represented in the photos. The area was safe and we felt secure. The interior was nicely decorated and the amenities were as described. I would have liked to have had TV'S in the bedrooms ( I know some on vacation don't care, but I do) however and was a bit disappointed with that. The housekeeper was very nice and easy to deal with.

We spent a wonderful 10 days in this villa. Ms Davies the housekeeper was marvelous. The pool area is beautiful, bedrooms & bathrooms large & for those who want to cook, a well equipped kitchen. Sea can be accessed via gardens of very friendly & obliging neighbors. Maurice was easily contactable for queries & advice.

It was a pleasure staying at Reef Winds. There was 1 issue, but taken care of quickly; correspondence with Sarah was good. Miss Cislyn, the house keeper, is awesome; kind, welcoming, pleasant. The place is clean and well kept (including the grounds). It had a secure front yard with nice landscaping. The backyard was huge with nice big trees with a swing, which was a plus. The house itself needs some work (roof - I was told there is a plan to re-roof, microwave needed, fridge doesn't cool as good as I would like - seal is broken at door) but the place was very clean and comfortable and safe and that was great in my book. It was a quiet, relaxing, tucked away oasis. I LOVE that each bedroom opened directly to the pool area; and the folding doors that opened up the large living area to the pool deck was GREAT, one of my favorite features – this allowed the breeze to pass through and cool the living room. The master bedroom was a nice size and the 2 smaller bedrooms were adequately sized for other guests or kids. The bathrooms were very clean and recently remodeled; being very clean was an added level of comfort that I like. I would definitely stay here again!

Sarah's place was perfect setting to Relax and Unwind. The location is great as shops and beaches are within walking distance. The amenities could be updated as the wifi was dodgy in the bedrooms, and the kids enjoyed the pool. Great Stay.

The listing is just as seen in the pictures. We were able to really relax and get some rest which was the aim of our stay. We enjoyed our stay and would look to visit again for a longer period.

My friends and I had a great time by the pool at this location. The house was nice with a great big backyard. It comfortably held seven of us. It has older appliances and is relatively simple but roomy. We drove into Ocho rios for activities which is 25 mins away. There is an amazing food place called jerkies across the road for box lunch. The groundsman gong was helpful and friendly. Overall nice stay and good price for the size of my group.

We had a 14day trip to jamaica and spent most of the time at the nice house with its beautiful garden and clean and refreshing pool. The house and the garden offer a lot of privacy. Our housekeeper and gardener/pool cleaner were very friendly and helpful. Thanks a lot for this awesome stay! We totally recommend the house!

Great place!!

The house is exactly like the pictures with a big backyard, a pool and mango tree, and theres a swing under mango tree that I loved so much. We didn't really like the location, not much happening around there. Ocho Rios is the closest place for fun or tourist attractions. In the house there were some huge bugs that scared me so much. I would say its not really safe, some weird guy was walking in our backyard a couple times. But Sarah was very nice and helpful, even though we didn't get a chance to see her. The housekeeper is a wonderful woman and came every morning to clean the house, and the "pool boy" is a great guy who came sometimes to clean the pool and backyard. So, the house is very clean. So, if you really want have some fun, this is not the place you are looking for. But if you want a quiet place to spend time by yourself or with your family, this place will be great.

my stay was very enjoyable i had family for all over Jamaica pass through and they all had a wonderful time especially enjoying the pool.

The house was exactly the way it looks in the photos, clean and smelling fresh. Roger and his staff was there to greet us, they were very friendly and accommodating. Lisa (the house keeper) was very attentive and patient with my elderly father. An excellent place to stay and explore Runaway bay. The veranda was my absolute favorite place in the house, with a beautiful view of the Caribbean sea.

Just as was described ,beautiful home with a gorgeous (URL HIDDEN) family and I enjoyed our stay.it was a home away from home.Junior did a good job in keeping the yard in good condition .I would definitely return there in the future.

Roger's home was worth every penny and every bump in the road. If you are not familiar with Jamaica you don't really understand why the roads are not finished. However, once we got to the house it brought us a sense of security! Alicia was so amazing she treated us as family, she made everything we requested, was polite, and brought back all of our receipts for food and groceries! Her cuisine is better than any local restaurant you could go to. She made us tea several times and our friends got to try Corn meal porridge for the first time! JR picked us fresh ackee from the tree for breakfast and kept us knowledgeable about the currency and where to go! The experience over all was by far one that can not be summed up in words, we just anticipate the day we are back and visiting again! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND this house as your next place to stay.

Roger was a pleasure to deal with and had fast and reliable communication with us throughout the trip. The villa was nicely appointed and Lisa and Junior (cook and caretaker) were wonderful as well. Great views and nice breezes. A pleasant little gem.

Roger's home is definitely a vacation home. It's big, open, and you wake up to an amazing view. The house was clean upon arrival and Lisa kept up with the cleaning throughout our week stay, and she did that for 6 people and a baby. Lisa also kept us well fed all week. My family and I had authentic Jamaican cooking all week! She's an amazing cook, and she even made the grocery store trips with us. Lisa definitely was like our sister/Aunty/friend Lisa while we were there, we even pulled her into our domino games lol. And Junior is amazing as well. He is probably the kindest man you will meet. He is beyond polite and helpful. And he's a great cook too! He helped my cousin make some "mannish water". Back to the house - it's beautiful with lots of character. It was a bit hot but we did visit in July so that's expected, but adding AC for these times of the year can make the stay even better. Fans can't do the job of AC especially in the downstairs bedroom, that room get absolutely no breeze. The best room is the one near the pool which I'm happy I claimed because it was the coolest. Be ware of the deep end of the pool if you can't swim, it's deep! But great for careful diving though. If your goal for your vacation is relaxation, eating some good food, waking up to a beautiful view, having attentive hosts, then Roger's place is definitely for you. We did have to have a driver for the week because we were about 20-30 mins from Ochi and all the amazing activities and that can get slightly expensive having to pay for each day, so plan for that, nothing is really walking distance. Our driver Phill did give us great rates though. The road to the villa is very very bad but that's beyond Roger's control, taxis are still willing to go there. All in all, this was an amazing trip and I'll definitely return to Jamaica and Roger's villa.

Roger was one of the best air Bnb hosts I've had so far! He was very communicative before our stay and made sure we had everything we needed upon arrival. The house itself is exactly as depicted but even more beautiful. The views are breathtaking and it was so reenergizing to stay in such a nature filled area Junior and Alicia were amazing hosts as well. They kept a tidy household and always went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Alicia is a killer cook! Make sure to take advantage of her ability to make the most delicious and authentic Jamaican food. Junior kept the pool crystal clean. Would definitely recommend this villa to anyone and am looking forward to coming back next year :) The only one note I have for this place is when Roger says the last 400m of road is bad he is not exaggerating. Imagine dirt gravel roads with many large pot holes - going uphill on a curved hill. Keep this in mind when/if you rent a car. This strip of road definitely requires a skilled driver!

Lovely, spacious home, offering great views of the surrounding countryside. The home is beautifully appointed and the staff are excellent. Alicia the cook/housekeeper saw to our every need, going above and beyond in many instances to ensure our stay was enjoyable. I forgot my cellphone and Alicia rushed to get it to me at the airport traveling more than an hour and a half! Roger our host, was accommodating of our myriad, ever changing requests and extra guests. Take his warning about the state of the road leading up to the house seriously however, It's not for the faint of heart!

Villa Pegasus was the cherry on the cake in our wonderful trip in Jamaica. Close to Ocho rios, Mystic Mountains and Dolphin Cove. My family and I have spend amazing moments such as meal cooked by Lisa in front of the pool and the great view. The housekeepers Junior and Lisa were very helpful. I truly recommend Roger's place !

We had such a wonderful time! The house and grounds are beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The house is right on the water and has a beautiful clean pool, big patios for hanging out, and large bedrooms with comfortable beds and AC units. The house is a a little older, but is kept extremely clean. One thing I'd strongly suggest is to hire the chef. We were on the fence about this because we normally like trying local restaurants but were SO GLAD we decided to have meals prepared. Odette cooked amazing food including jerk chicken, curry, fish, and lobster and it ended up being one of the best parts of our trip. Our group was 9 friends and we all absolutely loved the whole experience.

Couldn’t wait to leave my excellent review for Runaway Retreat!! Our group of four couples and a friend stayed in Merlyn’s villa for a week. The view was spectacular – the pool was clean and refreshing. The beach was right outside our door and we swam in the sea every day. It was a very short walk on the beach to the restaurant /bar Sharkies and a place to rent glass bottom boats, snorkeling and scuba gear. We were walking distance to the grocery store, shops, and a few bars. We all had our own rooms and bathrooms. The house was like our home away from home. Most amazing was our chef – Odette! We woke to homemade breakfasts on the patio overlooking the sea. Met fishermen who brought freshly caught lobster right to our door for supper in the evening. Whatever we felt like eating she arranged and cooked it for us. Merrick the groundskeeper was an all-around good guy and helped with whatever we needed. Shericka the housekeeper always had fresh towels, clean linens and a smile. Merlyn, the villa owner, met us when we got there and was invaluable helping us with our adventures and lining up transportation. Her home was exactly what we expected and more. We always felt safe and stress free. We decided next time we needed to stay a few more days to take advantage of more adventures. We left with big hugs, new friends, and a destination to return to next year!!

Merlyn was a great host for us. Seven of us came on the trip for four days/four nights, and we couldn't have had a better time. We were able to mix up our days between relaxing on patio/by the pool and going on adventures in the mountains; we were able to mix up our evenings with quiet time with other friends in the area and going out in nearby Ocho Rios. The property was lovely and the only drawback was the rocky sea, for which we should have had water shoes. Otherwise, a great host and support staff, and a wonderful location.

Our family vacation was quite memorable in Runaway Bay. We loved the pool at the house and the close proximity to the beach. Our days were spent relaxing , swimming and lounging by the pool. Our most memorable day was horse back riding to the beach which was awesome! Odette was an amazing and wonderful cook. I would suggest bringing mosquito repellent ..alot of it! and also pre negotiating your transportation costs. Amenities could be upgraded a bit ( new refrigerator with ice maker and perhaps tv's in each bedroom).

Amazing house, could comfortably sleep 12 people with AC. Right beside a scuba shop and seafood restaurant less than a minute walk down the beach. 2 grocery stores withing 5 min walk. Odette made amazing meals for 9 people and it was very affordable. 24h security was very friendly and helpful. Large private beach was our favourite part of the house! The pool was great as well. Would highly recommend!

We had a family vacation with our adult children. It was perfect. The home was spacious and comfortable. The water so relaxing. Our one daughter became engaged and it was perfect. We loved Odette. Her cooking was incredible. Merrik and serita took very good care of us. The only thing that happened that was loud was a party at the bar two houses away. Oh, where do I begin-- Come with me as I take you through an adventurous thrill that was beyond anything I could have visioned; but, a higher power saw my great need and Answered: 'Odette'. Firstly, have you ever tried planning a funeral or any event while three thousand miles away from the venue? Well, with my sympathetic nervous system into high gear; I had such a task -- plan my beloved soul-mate "Going Home Rites and Burial". When I booked the 'Retreat' I had no idea the tremendous force my host, Merlyn, played when she dropped a hint about having the best cook in the world for an additional charge, 'Odette', her GoTO resource at Runaway Retreat". Well, was I in for a shock, not only is Odette the absolute best cook in the world; but, oh, she is so much more - a one-stop consultant/solution provider, planner, organizer, group leader with an abundant command of the needed business savvy to steer any project from inception to implementation. Odette singlehandedly took the rein in hand and didn't slow until she had constructed and laid out the blue-print of what had to be in place, making the arrangements as well as all of the details that went into making the events as highly organized and smoothly executed as they were. Just minutes after first speaking with her she put together and sent me a Budget for the events as well as an organized itinerary for all phases of the events along with delegations of the appropriate personnel to head each phase with duties, responsibilities and resources. Odette made what no doubt would have been an otherwise anxiety laden experience one of such elation and awe that though not stopping for sleep or rest for three days we all moved with pep and vigor swaying to the conscious lyrics that flowed from the musical department. To witness Ms. Odette in operation as she command the respect and support of the entire Runaway Retreat staff and all those who played a role; be it from the fishermen with whom she made arrangements to obtain the fishes, folks to buy a goat or two from as well as the hundred of pounds of chicken, down to obtaining the many pots needed along with rental of tents and tables, etc was in itself a most valuable lesson. Odette, thank you for taking my plans a couple step up the ladder in a flawless and perfect "So Long" to my Soul Mate(URL HIDDEN)Finally, without Merlyn's Runaway Retreat adding the ideal setting where the various team members assembled to put it all together was icing -- This afforded my young grandson a rear and up close moment whereby he actively participated and witnessed the ritualized cruelty-free slaying of the goats, chickens, breadfruit roasting in the open air under the evening twilight skies of the breadfruit tree and a host of other essential culinary delights that were simultaneously taking place to the pulsating rhythmic musical vibration.

The entire staff made my group and I feel at home. Everything was as described and better! Place was remarkable. Neighborhood was far from all tourist area which was nice but in a safe area as well! We had our own gated area which we had the keys to unlocked/lock whenever we pleased. Would come back here again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Whistling Villa was exactly as described on the website. Osburn was easy to contact and responded promptly to emails. It is a beautiful spacious Villa and it's location was nice and private! We were greeted by the Deloris, Christopher and Faithlyn with a warm and friendly welcome...oh I almost forgot to mention 'Brownie' the friendly pup! Christopher's gentle mannerism made us felt safe and he was always accessible to answer any questions while Faithlyn cooked us some well deserved 'Jamaican meals' and kept the Villa spotless. Deloris was also easily contactable and available to answer any questions. We felt safe walking around the area and did not hesitate to go for evening walks after dinner. We also spent relaxing times lazing in the pool which was kept immaculate by Christopher! Unfortunately the internet was down which was no fault of the owner. Our children were able to give their fingers a rest from texting lol! We had a wonderful time and would definitely return. We will not hesitate to recommend Whistling Villa to our friends here in the UK. Thanks to Lennox who travelled far to collect us and for his help in taking up around and returning us safely to Spanish Town. His happy demeanour made us felt as if we were family, which was good!

The house was exactly as advertised, spacious, inviting and a great place to enjoy Jamaica. My only complaint were the beds were not comfortable. Chris and Delores were great hosts! Brownie (the dog) was so friendly :) I would recommend the home to anyone that wants a reasonably priced home in a great location.

This trip was amazing. Lennox Chris and Delores really made us feel at home. For a short trip they really made everything perfect for us. The house was beautiful, the pool was lovely and the weather was amazing.

The stay was great the staff and host were very helpful and accomodating. The walk to the beach and the "shops" weren't as close as we expected but we figured out alternatives. There is a new casino/night club nearby that was very nice and fun to go with a group. They have Karaoke! Food was spectacular - Ms. Monica was amazing. We had enough for leftovers most days and so were able save funds on meals. We didn't feel the need to eat out. It was great to be a neighborhood, felt safe and appreciated the access to the private beach though the public beach was quite nice too! The driver Everton was also very accomodating and available to us. The house was perfect. It was hard to think about leaving the pool and the house because everything was just so perfect. Swimming under the stars was fantastic.

The accommodations at Exodus retreat was really wonderful. The staff made sure we were well taken care of. Ms Monica, the chef, knows her stuff, her meals were absolutely delicious. The vibes were just right. The staff really went out of their way to make our vocation great. Many thanks to Andrew, Kevin, Ms Monica, and the staff.

We were a group of 9, traveling for my husband's birthday celebration, and each of us had an unforgettable time. We've already all agreed we want to go back to stay at Sevilla Villa next year. I'm going to go be a bit long-winded but that's because the stay was nearly perfect. The villa is as beautiful as in the pictures and it features an ideal layout for a group! Each of the 4 bedrooms is large and self-contained with en suite washrooms and they open out via sound-resistant glass doors onto the large deck and pool - the perfect common area for a group. 3 of the 4 bedrooms face the pool (the other is just down a few stairs from the deck) and the glass door are tinted so you can see out but no one can see in! Clare is an IDEAL host. She is available when you need her, non-intrusive if you don't, genuine, and so hospitable - she drove us herself on several outings, many that we wouldn't have known about without her... she truly elevated our experience in Jamaica. You can have some idea of what you want to do during your stay but I suggest being open to her guidance. The entire staff was amazing. Our driver, Everton, was always on time, really pleasant, and ready with tips and info about the island. Rallin helped us find the supplies we needed in a pinch. We didn't see much of the housekeeper but everything was clean! And I can't say enough about our incredible cook, Miss Monica. She should publish a cook book. We went out a few times for meals, and while it was fun to experience the atmosphere of different local spots the food did not compare to what we were getting back at the villa! We got a one-day-pass at the all-inclusive resort near the villa and while it was fun for a day, I was SO happy we'd chosen to go with Clare's villa instead for the week. In our 6 days we enjoyed an amazing time at the villa, grocery shopped with locals, golfed (my first caddy! not at all intimidating and super helpful), had Red Stripes at Sharkie's, did yoga on the beach, tried the legendary jerk chicken at Scotchie's (best to do this if you're doing another Ocho Rios-area outing, drive is a bit far just for this), visited the Green Grotto Caves (do this! it's close and has an incredible history), snorkelled, ate the best food, and felt so lucky to have chosen Sevilla Villa(URL HIDDEN)

We recently stayed a few days at this Bed and Breakfast, and this place is nothing short of a luxury stay. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was amazing. The morning breakfast gave the trip that taste of Jamaican culture we wanted and we recommend every get a roof top patio spa treatment done by professionals. One of my favorite part of the stay was the easy beach access, it is absolutely gorgeous. Overall we were very satisfied with our host's accommodations and in all we would give this place 10 stars. We really enjoy our stay there! The location is the perfect spot to escape from everything. It has a private beach but it is not exactly swimmable (too many rocks in the water). The backyard is perfect spot for sun bathing! We also went to the Ganja Farm. So gorgeous and amazing! However, we were hoping to see how ganja works but we did not. $125 might be pricey but worth the view on the way to the farm! The host, Martel, is awesome. He did a great job checking us in. Very reliable.

The place is super clean and right on the beach. We were staying in a dorm with 2 bunk beds and the shared bathroom was just across the hallway. We had hot water and there was A/C in our room. We did not even need air-conditioning, it was great with an open window overnight. The staff is amazing! We had breakfast at the property and for a fair fee you get more food than you can eat and the chef cooks yummy food (ask for porridge...delicious!!). The beach is narrow, but you can sit there and catch some sun rays and chill. They also have hammocks, but we fell in love with the wicker egg swing in the front yard. There are only 1 shop and 2 restaurants in the walking distance, but you can take a route taxi to St. Ann's Bay for a couple of bucks and get the supplies there (fruit, coconuts from the people on the street, there is also a supermarket). We also scuba dove, you can also arrange a trip with Martel to the countryside. They made sure we always had a spliff :)

Villa Anansi was the ideal setting for our family gathering. We were looking for a place that was safe, clean, quiet, attractive, comfortable and suitable for an elderly parent and young child. Anansi delivered in spades. The villa staff – chef/housekeeper (Jackie) and house manager (Owen) – are wonderful and went above and beyond to meet our needs and make our stay comfortable. Jackie’s meals were delicious. The grounds are lovely. The house is a short (8 minute) car ride to a great public beach and close to shops and other amenities. This was one of the best vacation stays I’ve ever had and I look forward to returning soon.

Cynthia greeted us with warm an welcoming arms. Literally speaking. We were in town vending for a major festival and every evening when we returned to her house we felt at home. The house is simply gorgeous and more than beautifully maintained. We would recommend it to anyone that wants to experience Peace of Mind while on vacation. Cynthia's place is spotless, beautifully decorated, very comfortable and supplied all my needs. The amenities are numerous. Private bedroom and bath, a veranda with a beautiful view, gardens, WiFi, laundry, well supplied kitchen, Living room with TV. Cynthia made breakfasts for me every morning and did laundry as well for a small extra fee. She was available always and attentive to my needs. Centrally located and safe neighborhood. Very close to the golf course and beaches. I definitely will stay here again when I come back to Jamaica.

We had a short but extraordinary nice stay at Cynthia's beautiful home. She made us feel very welcome and comfortable and we were a bit sad that we could only stay one night. We highly recommend staying with Cynthia!

This is my third visit to Cynthia's home because she let me feel like I am at home ,location is safe and comfortable and near to the town and shopping area I would recommend her home for a vacation she is like a big sister she prepare the table for me every morning for my breakfast,thanks Cynthia I will always be visiting your home whenever I am in Jamaica.

Place exactly as expected and she is such a lovely lady. I would recommend anyone to go there. The place was neat, clean and quiet.

This is a very clean and spacious home. As for the location if you need to be in the center of Runaway Bay, it works. It is about 1.5 hours from MBJ airpiort and about 2 hours to Ocho Rios. The home is a bit difficult to get to because of the condition of the roads in that area where the home is located. For that reason I would recommend it for person's who are familiar with the local terrain. Driving there could be a little intimidating for an out-of-towner. Would recommend for locals or someone travelling with a savvy driver.

My stay was well worth it. I loved it. Convenience meets comfort and style.

It was a lovely apartment suitable for one person or a couple. Spare towels and bed sheets were available. The kitchen was well equipped with pots, plates, glasses, utensils, and gas to cook for your duration. The room was kept cool at all times with both AC and the fan. I am very familiar with the local area so I found getting about pretty easy and the locals are very friendly. All amenities are to a good standard. When next visiting Jamaica (summer hopefully) I will definitely be booking back with this apartment.

Both Dian and Chris were great!. The place is exactly as it is advertised. Spacious, quiet . I would definitely recommend it for the persons looking for to be away from the maddening crowd.

Dian and Christian are really lovely, genuine people. They are warm, helpful and approachable and this really made our stay. The house is big and comfortable and has everything you need. The nearest public beach is beautiful and friendly. Really you do need a car to go anywhere but the beach and we decided to hire one after using taxis for a few days. There are no negatives and i would stay again happily. Thank you for introducing us to Jamaica.

We loved Dian's and Christian's little cottage. We stayed for 6 days and we could easily stay more. Very comfortable, quiet and clean. Both Dian and christian are lovely and extremely helpful. Would stay again there at anytime.

Hidden gems in the lush Jamaican forest. The plural is used to include : -Hosts Dian and Christian; -The wonderful little historical house; -«Check», the socianble little black dog; -«Olive», the shy little brown dog; -«Boogie», the friendly giant dog and; -The other dog we didn't get to see much (whose name we forgot); -The trees; -The mountain sights; -The birds; -The star-filled sky and tranquility at night. Dian and Christian are very available yet not intrusive at all. Airport pickup, stop at the grocery store on the way home and supply of complementary fresh eggs and bread forthe first breakfast were much appreciated. They can provide you with a basic rental cell phone for people like us who did not want to arrange for a roaming package. The Wi-fi connection from the patio is very reliable. To get around, should you not have rented a car or should you like to be driven to/from «anywhere, anytime» as he says, Dian and Christian will hook you up with Dave, a reliable local taxi driver who charges the «real local prices» (saves the hassle of bargaining in advance for a fare, with the risk of being had). Dave is very reliable and punctual. Out of respect for his work day and family life, we were always giving him an estimated time and place of pickup so that he could plan his comings and goings. About the house : -Description and pictures are accurate but do not render the feeling that fills you get when you get to see these historical buildings surrounded by a variety of tropical vegetation, home to numerous birds; -The house is very causy and functionnal; -Matresses and linen are incredibly comfortable; -Water from the tap ? Worry not. The finest mountain filtered water on earth; -No A/C ? Worry not here again. Being in the woods, temperature cools down at night so open windows bring a flow of the purest air and fans are provided in the bedrooms. -House is very clean and tidy and easy to keep clean. About Runaway Bay : -Quiet little town; -Local Jamaican businesses where your greetings and smiles will always be warmly returned; -Being a guest at the house gives access to a private beach but, we did not even ask for the accees code, for we felt very welcome at the public beach, where friends and families gather. -If you're into scuba diving or would like to try it (and you should with this bunch), Christian runs a great Dive Shop. (Check it (EMAIL HIDDEN) His staff is friendly and proficient and the dive sites offer a variety of thrills for all levels of divers (ignore the bad coments on diving in Jamaica and go see for yourselves). In conclusion, we are short of words to express how grateful we are to Dian and Christian for sharing these hidden gems with us. We hope we can stay there again on our future visits to Jamaica. Dian and her husband Chris had been wonderful hosts. The little cottage was far better than exepcted, large and with all the necessary for a pleasant stay. It is in a calm and quiet area just 5 minutes from the main highway. Dian and Chris has been helpful with everything and helped us with fresh eggs and fruits, and useful advices. Bedrrom wa really charming and bathrrom large. Definetively we enjoyed it and reccomend it for couples as well as families alike.

What a privilege to stay with Dian and Christian! If someone were to tell me that you could get a mini art gallery, a historical glimpse and journey into Jamaica's historical past, its plantocracy and legacy ... not to mention soaking in nature in an uncontrived, authentic Jamaican setting ... plus being the guest of a kind and lovely family ... you honestly could not ask for better! Although it was over a mile's journey off the beaten path (which for me was a huge plus as I am into those totally sanitized "all inclusive" Jamaican hotel offering, as when I am in Jamaica I want to experience the real Jamaica for what it is, you have also have additional services provided by their go-to cab driver Dave. Dave himself is a historian who knows the local ins and outs; he is an optional but recommended addition. Dian and Christian are very kind folks introduce me to Skotches, where I had unforgettable Jamaican food, and I drank only the real coconut water. As a measure Skotches popularity, we came across the location shooting of episode of 'Real Housewives Of Atlanta'. The premises and security features was enough for me. Just follow Dian's advice and you will be quite ok. In a nutshell, Dian's Airbnb's offering is Runaway Bay's best kept accommodation secret! The Airbnb photos alone don't do justice to the totality of my experience (as I summarized above). When I showed my colleagues at our reunion, who stayed at a nearby all-inclusive exorbitantly priced hotel (not to mention their comparatively cramped room compared to my spacious 225 year old clean, rustic, and truly beautiful cottage), you'll understand why they were rather jealous, and asked, "Why didn't you tell us!" If I did, it would not have been a secret! ;)

The listing describes the accommodations very well. It is not near any attractions (though the private beach is close and quite nice) so you will need to make arrangements if you didn't rent a car. Dave, our driver for the three days, was laidback and was a good driver. Dian and family were helpful and had the right balance of available and non-intrusive. We felt comfortable and welcome during the time we were there and we enjoyed interacting with the dogs. They also provided basic supplies, including eggs from their chickens! One small drawbacks is the lack of AC, but leaving the windows open and running the fans worked well. It was a great experience and we would all happily stay here again should we return to the island.
