Places to stay in Surveyors Bay
Absolute beachfront double storey modern house. All living areas are upstairs to take advantage of the beautiful views: beach out the front and farmland from the back. Relax to the sound of the waves rolling in.
Roaring Beach has spectacular white sand, often you will see a pod of dolphins or a seal. There are salmon farms in the channel and you can buy fresh salmon direct from Huon Aquaculture a few minutes drive away.
The quaint seaside town of Dover is a 10 minute drive, there you will be able to buy groceries or dine at a restaurant.
  • Beautiful views in a lovely house... and peaceful!

  • You won’t be disappointed staying at Honni’s beautiful holiday house. Even much better than the photo shows! Lovely comfortable bed and a warm toasty fire. The beach across the road is delightful and we enjoyed lots of walks in the area and beyond and you can listen to the gorgeous soothing waves as you drift off to sleep.

  • The location is magnificent with the beach at the doorstep and beautiful green hills at the back of the house. A deck on each side to feel part of it. It is a perfect place to go away from the noise and enjoy nature. Extremely nice house, clean and extremely comfortable.

  • Great holiday house on the beach for my family getaway i highly recommend

    Tim2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place, fantastic view to the sea, peaceful location, quite on the best beach of all. Just a few steps over the road and you are on the beach. The house is spacious with two terraces and there is enough space for more than two. The outside shower was very handy when you come from swimming. We really enjoyed our one week stay.

  • Lovey place. Great host who was very accommodating towards our large German shepherd. For anyone who has a well behaved dog that loves the sand and beach I highly recommend it. It’s also a great place for anyone who wants to escape the city, loves the water and wants some piece and quiet.

Comfortable cabin on farm in the beautiful lower Huon-Channel area. Studio with a double bed, plus sofa bed available for 3rd person.
Our cabin provides a relaxing haven for 2-3 people in a peaceful coastal and rural location. The cabin is a small building close to the main farmhouse. It consists of three rooms: in the larger room are a double bed, wardrobe, sofa bed - available for bookings of 3, small lounge, and dining table, and, in an alcove, the kitchen. In the smaller rooms are the bathroom and separate toilet. All bedding, linen, crockery and utensils are provided. We have it listed as not suitable for children as we have a large farm dam not far from the house; also there is the possibility of snakes in summer. So we do not want children wandering around the farm unsupervised. If you have one or two children you can make a request for a booking; I need to be satisfied that you will supervise your child/ren properly so there is no danger to them. We provide seasonal fruit from the farm, plus breakfast provisions - tea and coffee (plunger and instant), butter and home-made jam. Due to everyone's different requirements and preferences, we no longer provide milk and bread. There are two excellent local supermarkets and a bakery in Cygnet. Wireless internet is available, though not a great connection. Mobile phone coverage is often poor.
We live on a 70 acre farm in a beautiful coastal area of southern Tasmania. Please note: we are not on Bruny Island; the ferry is about a 20 minute drive away. Day trips around the Huon and Channel areas are great from here; or Hobart and surrounds - but further away is a bit too far. There is a lot of native wildlife, such as pademelons (small wallabies) as well as birds. Shops, cafes, post office and other services are in Cygnet, a lovely small town about 9 km away. The lower Huon-Channel area has a lot to experience, including excellent food, lovely scenery and walks, swimming in summer, art galleries, the works! From the farm, it is lovely to go for a walk down to the bay, and around the shore (at low tide); there are also other spectacular bays and beaches not far away. This is a rural area, with no close neighbours except for some cows. There is a small settlement by the bay, about 600 metres from the farm.
  • Quiet, rural setting with a spacious apartment surrounded by bush, gorgeous views & a handful of alpacas. Easy road access to Huonville & Cygnet or a ferry trip to Bruny Island. Our hosts generous with both information & garden veggies. Could easily have stayed longer to explore the area. Thanks Sharon & Scott for a memorable stay.

    Monica2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, cosy & comfortable place. Setting beautiful with fresh air, greenery and wildlife. Remember to look for pademelons grazing at night around the cottage. Kitchen well equipped so easy to prepare all our meals and have quality time together. Perfect for our needs.

  • If you want the authentic side of Tasmania, this is the place for you. Our hosts were remarkably kind, discreet but present if necessary. Sharon has a beautiful vegetable garden which she can share with you. Don't hesitate, she will make you discover it and you will be amazed by what is there. Nothing special, functional, calm and complete for the accommodation. The dialogue before arrival is good, Sharon responds quickly to emails. To do again. • An amazing location and amazing house. Really unique

    David2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Hi Louella... we both had a fantastic stay at the shack/batch with the perfect creature comfort layout. The best part for me was listening to the continuous sound of the roaring beach especially at night which was so comforting that I found it difficult to nod off (in a good way). Marg loved the direct access to beach for her daily swim and walks. Great DVD collection and was able to catch up on a few movies we missed at the cinema.

    Brian2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a gorgeous little beach cottage in the most pristine & quiet corner of Tassie. My husband and I spent the beginning of our Honeymoon at the Oyster Catcher and it had everything we had hoped for- little luxuries, comfortable amenities, stylish surroundings and direct access to nature at our door step. We adored our time in Surveyors Bay and so much of this was because of our experience at the Oyster Catcher. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to escape from the crowds and explore an untouched and genuinely stunning part of Tassie.

    Cassia2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage in a fantastic location but the highlight is the regular evening visit of the superb fairy wrens. Louella was very helpful too.

    Ian2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Louella's place was in a perfect spot. We loved the beach opposite, even when the weather wasn't that good. We found everything we needed to feed and entertain ourselves. We would really recommend this beautiful place. It is close to lots of interesting things to do. We drove to Southport, went to the gem museum at Lune river, the Hastings caves and springs.

    Christina2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Unbelievable location, directly across the road from one of the most idyllic beaches. Very comfy bed and probably the biggest collection of blue ray DVDs I've seen. No mobile reception and very limited wifi, which is great if you wanna get away from it all but difficult if you need to be reached or call anyone.

Cherie was helpful from beginning to end, keeping communication lines open and clear at all times. Walking into the home after a very long drive was truly the best. Super cute personalised touches for guests. We really appreciated everything she did and provided for us and I was especially impressed with the bathroom amenities! We will be back!

  • I stayed with my family (parents, sisters, partners, kids) for a week. Jim was kind enough to allow us to fill the house to the brim and it worked out really well as we put the kids upstairs with their parents and the rest of us downstairs. The house is really good with a number of areas to relax in but the star of the holiday is the stunning beach and clear water. We also enjoyed a few trips into Dover. I recommend this place for people who want to get away from it all.

    Kristi2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the house is fantastic just across the road from the beach. Jim was great to deal with.

    Avril2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • A great family or 2 smaller families beach house to stay at. Plenty of beds, cooking equipment and right across from the beach. We had a great week’s stay and super safe and accommodating for our fur baby as well. Thanks Jim and Surveyors Bay 😊

    Crystal2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic, beachfront location that is hard to beat. Reception is patchy in this area as Jim mentions but we found ourselves too busy exploring Hartz Peak and Hastings Cave to miss it. Appreciated the quick communication and welcome drink too.

    Sharon2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jim was fantastic and the house was great- such great access to the beautiful beach and the house has everything we needed. The beds are really comfortable and there are lots of living space options if your a big group.

  • A wonderful home in a spectacular location. Jim was extremely helpful. Would love to come again.

  • Fantastic location right near the beach. Great for large families and a lovely house to relax in. The wood fire was a hit for those cooler evenings. Couldn’t ask for anything else with a great host to rely on. I highly recommend this place and will be staying there again.

    Chris2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place in a great location right near the beach. The house is well setup for bigger groups or families with lots of amenities and items to use including a great BBQ and wood heater. Host was amazing with detailed and quick replies and local knowledge that helped make our trip an enjoyable experience.

  • Would highly recommend Jemma’s drift away camp! Had the most perfect first trip away with our 6 month old baby and Jemma welcomed our two dogs as well! Excellent for those with little ones and/or fur babies. Especially loved the outdoor spa with the most amazing view! What a lovely space Jemma has created.

  • Such a great place to stay, the quiet and thoughtful touches were amazing

    Holly2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot. Simple and clean cabin with everything you need. The outdoor tub and view are a dream. Jem was a great host. Looking forward to going back.

  • A unique cabin, fabulous views, clean and well organised. Jemma is a generous host and the lovely provisions of salmon etc are most welcome. Visits from Betty the boxer and the chooks added to make a memorable stay. Annie & Brian

    Annie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing stay. Jemma was extremely accommodating and very quick to reply to our questions at booking. We really appreciated the thought that had gone in to setting up the space from the eco approach, the amazing bath with a view and local produce to sample. Thanks Jemma for creating such a wonderful Airbnb experience.

    Ellen2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Easily the best accomodation I’ve ever booked on Airbnb. Stayed for two nights and enjoyed a bath under the stars, salmon cooked over the campfire and a magical view down to the Huon River. The cottage is super clean, with everything you could possible want for cooking your own meals and gorgeous touches from host Jemma. On our first night she had left fresh eggs, butter and salmon in the fridge and dropped off some delicious local bread to boot. She was incredibly kind and full of great recommendations for the area. If I could give it 6 stars I would. Will be coming back ASAP.

    Lucy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great little cabin. Comfortable and clean with an amazing view. Will definitely be back

    Anthony2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Due to unexpected illness I was unable to travel and my parents traveled to Jemma’s place instead. Jemma was very easy and quick to communicate with. House exactly as described. Beautiful setting (I got lots of photos!). Some tasty local treats in the fridge was a lovely touch. My parents had the best weekend and would definitely recommend staying at Jemma’s home.

    Peaceful , tranquil location
The Retreat at Randalls offers a totally private, absolute waterfront experience overlooking stunning Randalls Bay, a short drive from Cygnet and 55 minutes from Hobart. Featuring panoramic views of the pristine beach across to Garden Island, and a sheltered 3,500 square metre garden area with abundant wildlife, walking tracks and play equipment for the kids to explore, the opportunity exists for families or couples to rest and relax. So too does it provide the perfect opportunity to access the numerous tourist sites along the Huon Valley Trail, Bruny Island, and beyond. The house itself offers comfortable accommodation with a 70s retro beach house feel. Expect carpet in the kitchen, mismatched plates and straightforward bathroom facilities - but also expect every comfortable facility you need. It is set on 3 levels, the lower containing bunk accommodation for two, the middle the kitchen/meals/lounge area, a ‘snug’ and the two main bedrooms, and the upper story providing further sleeping facilities and a new 60 square metre deck. The master bedroom (complete with en-suite) and the communal living areas offer uninterrupted views across the D’Entrecasteaux Channel to the Hartz Mountains. The deck adds further to the panoramic experience, with a 360 degree outlook encompassing the beach across to Garden Island in one direction, and a view of the private gardens and the mountain of the Echo Sugarloaf reserve from behind. Facilities include a split system heating/cooling and a wood burning heater, digital television/radio/internet, a scenic BBQ area (gas and wood fired) , a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave oven, a washing machine and clothes dryer, abundant reading material, board games, puzzles etc. All linen and towels (except beach towels) are supplied. The grounds, intersected by a winding 100 metre long horseshoe driveway with two small bridges, provide an added source of enjoyment, especially for children. Scattered across the property via a number of tracks can be found a 10 foot trampoline, a slide with adjoining climbing frame, and a play area with suspended tyre, trapeze and conventional swing. Along the coast side a gate opens out to a path leading to the safe, secluded beach. Both Randalls Bay, and the adjoining Mickey’s Beach (accessed by a scenic walking track nearby) are, we believe, simply the best beaches in the Huon region, if not beyond. Certainly, they are one of the very few stretches of sandy shoreline to have such an enclosed, sheltered position, surrounded by natural bush. Other attractions include: • kayaking, fishing, coastal walks, swimming, rock-pooling, boating • Cygnet (a pleasant ‘artistic’ town with a variety of quality cafes and galleries) • Hartzview and Home Hill wineries • Bruny Island • Grandvewe Cheesery • Tahune Airwalk • Hastings caves and Thermal Springs • Hartz Mountains • Peppermint Bay bistro and fine dining • Huonville jetboats ... to name but a few. A more comprehensive guide, complete with explanatory brochures and our own recommendations, can be found upon arrival.

  • We spent 4 days with our 2 boys here. The house is very convenient and well designed, not too small, not too big! Fully equipped, comfortable, view on the sea, amazing garden on where possums hide in the night! It is a pity we could not stay longer!

Newly renovated, private, self contained guest suite on the ground level of our waterfront two storey house. You will have access to the area downstairs with your own bathroom, bedroom, open plan lounge/dining area with kitchenette and an outdoor deck. The outlook from your accommodation is to Charlotte Cove with stunning views across the water to Garden Island, Randalls Bay and Sugarloaf Mountain. Charlotte Cove is 17km from Cygnet which is, without a doubt, the best small town in Tasmania.
The ground level area of our house is a self contained space and you will have your own bathroom, bedroom, open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area and an outdoor deck. The front room has a lovely view across a deck to the boats and water of Charlotte Cove. This room is open plan with a lounge, dining area and a kitchenette. There is a fridge with freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave and single induction cooktop. All crockery, cutlery and cooking implements are provided. There are no shops in Charlotte Cove so you may need to bring supplies. I will provide a simple continental breakfast including homemade granola, yogurt, fruit, tea, coffee, bread and jams. The bedroom has a queen sized bed, a storage drawer under the bed and shelves with space for hanging your clothes. I admit it is a small room but it is light and bright and you will want to be in the front room most of the time anyway just looking at the view! Your bathroom has been newly renovated and towels and toiletries are provided for your use. There is a heated towel rail and a small heater that can be used in the bathroom. The deck on the lower level is for your use. There is a cafe style table and chairs and a hammock is also available. Spend your time here looking out at the waters of Charlotte Cove and the views down the river to Garden Island and Randalls Bay.
Charlotte Cove is a tiny settlement with a mix of holiday homes and permanent residences. It is located on a small peninsula at the mouth of the Huon River where it opens into the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. Nearby islands include Bruny Island, Huon Island and Garden Island. Boating and kayaking are popular here and there is a boat ramp and jetty in front of the house. There is a short walk from the house that takes you to the end of the peninsula where you have expansive views across the river to the Hartz Mountains and Adamsons Peak. A slightly longer walk (10 minutes) along a bush track by the water takes you to the quiet beach at Verona Sands. Head off in any direction for scenic drives by the water. It is a short drive to the charming town of Cygnet (17km - 15 to 20 minutes) where you will find the best cafes, bakeries, shops and galleries, plus all the usual small town services. In the other direction, head towards Kettering (28km - 25 to 30 minutes) where you will find the ferry to Bruny Island.
  • Very private and relaxing place. Great walk to the beach at Verona Sands

  • Cozy ground floor apartment equipped with washer dryer and electric blankets. Wonderful view from the sofa and terrace on the bay, all sorts of high-quality delicacies in the fridge .. However, only a hotplate plus micro and toaster in the kitchen. Comfortable bed, mosquito screens in front of the windows. Very personable, unobtrusive hosts!

    Horst2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What an idyllic place to relax and unwind. There is so much to do in the surrounding areas but with a stunning view, cosy space and plenty of books, magazines and games, you may not get out the door!

  • Sandra was a great host! We wanted a quiet retreat, and that's what we got - and more. Sandra was very welcoming but never intrusive. The view of the Cove from the front room is just beautiful and relaxing - ever changing. There were many unexpected extra touches - chocolates in the bedroom, sourdough bread, yoghurt and home made jams, and some local fruit. They offered us the use of canoes and shared with us about looking out for seahorses in the Cove, and It was heart-warming watching her feed the orphan potteroos. We had a lovely time exploring the area and just relaxing. We would love to come back again!

    Marcia2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra's place, the ground floor of her home, was marvellous. Beautiful views onto Charlotte Cove. The most wonderful breakfast offerings, including fresh fruit (in season), a sourdough bread, and lovely jams, and so on. Private. All the facilities you might need. All in all, a lovely stay.

This eco friendly home is located in the quiet waterside village of Deep Bay just 8km from the artisanal township of Cygnet. Incredible views, friendly locals, even a Bikram yoga studio at the end of the street, and just 1 hr away from Hobarts Salamanca Market and MONA
Solar passive design means the house stays warm in winter and cool in summer. There is a wood burning stove to make the place extra cosy on cool days or nights. The solar hot water system supplies the hot water - and there is a booster if for any reason the sun don't shine. There are large decks at front and rear of house providing shelter or sun depending on whim. Deck chairs and hamoc available too! The house is "shabby chic" with both a retro and modern style. I like recycling so there are many pre-loved items as well as new and beautiful things. Please note, it is my home, so my personal belongings remain in the space when I am gone, but they are put away in cupboards. There is plenty of space for your things too.
The natives are friendly, there is boat ramp and jetty at the bottom of the road and don't forget the Bikram yoga centre at the end of the road that does 2 yoga sessions every day except Sat and Sun where just the one. Good coffee and food can be found in Cygnet as well as art galleries, chemists, independent supermarkets and banks.
  • Just great! Communication, spotless, very comfortable and a lovely home to watch the wonderful Tasmanian ever changing light with yachts bobbing in the water across the road . We will hopefully come back one day

  • Tenting it through Tassie and as the weather closed in we booked Glenn’s place on very short notice.. He responded quickly and was a pleasure to deal with. He went out of his way to get the place ready and added a nice touch of a bottle of red and stocked the fire with timber.. this place is unique design and really modern, clean and tidy. We were extremely pleased with the two bathrooms (there was 4 of us) and all the other amenities provided.. thanks Glenn for hosting us..

    Simon2020-03-13T00:00:00Z

  • Very good location right on Dover Beach. Very clean and well equipped cottage with lots of charm and modern bathroom.

    Armin2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful renovated house with lots of extra touches to make the stay perfect for our family, including extras (portacrib, high chair, toys) that Rachel left for us to help accommodate our toddler. The house was very comfortable, and the garden was beautiful with a fully fenced backyard. Loved the location in beautiful Dover and hope that one day we can come back again. Good communication and easy check-in and check-out.

    Rebecca2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with fabulous views, this Dover cottage was perfectly placed. The area was quiet and calm. Just a few steps away from the beach, this is a great location. Well maintained and clean, the house had great amenities and an excellent kitchen. Promoting some of the local wine was also a plus. On a colder night we got to enjoy the fire, but the house was pretty warm most of the time and seemed well insulated from colder weather. Even so, having a cosy night in front of the fire was a fun experience. Definitely recommend for quiet holidays or long weekends away.

    Jack2020-01-21T00:00:00Z

Overlooking Randalls Bay beach, you're only a 120m walk away from dipping your toes in the water. Our spacious open plan house is perfect for a large family or group wanting to escape the city and enjoy a tranquil setting only 1 hour south of Hobart.
You get the whole house to yourself, a massive open plan kitchen/dinning/living area and 3 generous bedrooms making this place perfect for a large group enjoying a holiday in the southern parts of Tasmania. You've got everything you could hope for to keep you entertained; a 7" slate pool table in the living room, darts, gas BBQ, wood BBQ, toys and games for kids. This house has many features that help reduce the impact on the environment; large solar system, solar hot water, water-less toilet, recycling & food composting. Please refer the rules on the Airbnb listing and the guide book regarding these.
Randalls Bay is the best beach in the region, very sheltered from wind, and very calm waters being in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. The drive from Hobart, down the channel, over Woodbridge Hill, then around the coast is one of the most picturesque drives you're likely to take. Walk outside the front door and you're at the start of a 2.2km nature walk 'Sugar Loaf Echo Reserve', a community driven walking trial. At the other end Randalls Bay Beach there's a short 20min walk to the secluded Mickeys Beach. Cygnet, 10mins away is a vibrant little town centre of the fruit growing Huon Valley where apple, cherry and berry orchards line the hills. Popular among artists, musicians and those looking for alternative lifestyles,Cygnet includes several craft shops, art studios and galleries.
  • Great stay for a wedding event in Gordon. Happy to come back and stay with my mates. The hosts were great regarding amenities and communication. Beautiful views overlooking the waters. Images are exactly what it looks like. :)

  • Beautiful spot, spacious clean and great for the family. Lovely host with very quick responses. Love the composting toilet, solar panels, and compost. Nice to see accommodation that is more environmentally conscious.

    Marcus2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent very modern property, the bedding was very comfy and clean. Everything you could possibly need/want with a home away from home and beautiful views plus walking distance to the beach.

  • Our stay at Randalls Bay was more than we expected. The house felt very private and homey. The view of the water can be seen from most of the house and waking up every morning to that view was everything. The house is spacious and has everything you need, and could easily accommodate a large family or even a couple. The beach is a short walk, which our children loved. I’d like to thank Kennedy and Monica for sharing their home with us, we will definitely stay again on our next Tassie trip.

    Dana2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house so close to the beach and really private. The bay was beautiful and clean and the amenities were spot on. We really enjoyed the local tips and quick communication. Thankyou for letting us stay in your beautiful beach home, we hope to return soon.

    Anneliese2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful all round

    Nige2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Kennedy and Monika are charging a tiny fraction of what this place is worth. The location is absolutely stunning and more than you could possibly expect with its constant changing scenery. From the deck you can see both the bay, and snow covered montains, each night you get to watch the sun set behind it all! The sugar loaf reserve is you backyard, which is a gift in itself. The home is beautifully designed, light and airy, with a strong homely feel. This home has everything you need to make it feel like it's your own, the fireplace and huge comfy couch creates a space you never want to leave! The beds and pillows are beautiful quality and gave us the best nights sleep we have ever had. The lounge was equipped with toys things for little humans to play with which was a huge bonus for us. The neighborhood is SO quiet, the only sounds you will hear is that of the water and the wildlife! The wildlife come right up to your door of a night, we would often see them from the deck. You will be blown away by this place and will not want to leave! To top it all off, the hosts are wonderful friendly people who are so quick to respond to any questions and offer their local knowledge! We have only just checked out today after a week long stay and we are already planning when we can book again!

Beautifully appointed modern cottage right on the shores of beautiful Port Esperance Bay! Step outside your stunning accommodation and you are making sandcastles on the white sands of Dover’s Pottery Beach. Two queen bedrooms, full kitchen and all modern conveniences are provided for the ideal getaway or romantic retreat.
There is nothing between you and the beach in this luxury cottage. Comfortably catering for 4 people, Tides Reach has two queen bedrooms with one bathroom and spacious living and dining area overlooking the bay.
  • Tides Reach is an outstanding five-star accommodation located absolutely right on the beach. The corner road location provides a super quite place to relax on the front porch or stroll the beach by yourself. The bay view is stunning and encompasses large and small islands, a few moored boats, various water birds, black swans, wrens, rabbits and a fully laden apple tree. We absorbed the complete ambience surrounding us. It is truly a peaceful, tranquil, splendid retreat. Awesome Serenity! The luxury cottage has a huge, well-kept yard with an extra large picnic table, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The cottage was very clean, fully stocked with every amenity you require, even a teapot. We certainly appreciated the bath robes, the thick comforters, cozy bed and walk-in closet. The floorplan, lighting and decor is well planned. We enjoyed our incredible stay and look forward to returning in the future. Thanks so much for sharing this part of paradise with us. Sandra & Brian, Calgary, Canada

The games, books, DVD and large tables and entertaining areas, comfy beds and great modern bathroom all contributed to us feeling like we were immediately on holiday. I was thinking as we were leaving the house this morning that this is exactly the kind of place Airbnb is made for - a family generously sharing their home and all that has made their own holidays great, with other people. We feel really lucky to have been able to be here. Thanks Ken!

Lovely waterfront view in a Bay that you can swim or kayak in. Enjoy the solitude but be only a short drive away from many attractions in the area.
Beautiful Waterview. Spacious kitchen with dining table. Loungeroom to sit and relax in the evening Bathroom nice size - Shower only Large undercover porch area to sit as well as outdoor table and chairs.
Quiet Bay with few neighbors. Great Views
  • Beautiful quiet location with amazing views

    Rob2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Please stay here. The view is perfect, the oysters are 50 meters away, and the yachts moor in the bay. It is quiet and easily accessible. The home, whilst traditional Tas weatherboard, is warm, clean and comfortable. The beds are soft and warm. Where else can you enjoy such a view and be surrounded by trees and wildlife at these prices. Outstanding.

    Michael2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully located getaway place, well maintained place with super comfy beds, warm & clean ammenities, quick response from host, beach towels provided which are very helpful especially for travelling guests. Definitely recommended!

  • Secluded and peaceful, magnificent water views, perfect location to explore the beautiful Huon Valley. Very happy to recommend.

    Wendy2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. Gorgeous views and quiet location for days of deep relaxation. Super clean and well fitted out.

    Alicia2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia's place is magical. The views and serenity of the place is never ending. Locals we met were helpful in finding the great locations off the track. Collected mussels off the rocks, go to the Kermandie Hotel, Dover is a must as is My Hartz National Park. The walks vary and do what you can manage. Geeveston is beautiful, especially the visitor center. We missed the famous sushi shop due to holidays. We saw the platypus in Geeveston and a beautiful swimming bay is Surveyors Bay. We had 8 nights here and loved it. House is better than the photos.

    Melanie2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful and quiet, with as good a view as you could get anywhere. Light and airy, well equipped. One evening we watched 6 orcas in the bay for about 15 minutes, great views.

    John2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia’s retreat is superbly located on the banks in the Huon River. It is well appointed and presented well. It is a great place to get away from it all with only short drives to great food and wonderful experiences. The wood heater ensures it is very cosy.

  • Attractive spot. The menagerie was fun and the breakfast was great. Gary is a very experienced and interesting traveler to chat to.

    Paul2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place to stay. Gary is an exceptional host and the rooms are very well equipped and laid out. We sat by the outdoor fire in the evening and enjoyed the lovely rural setting of the property, yet we knew it was only a short walk into the centre of Dover. The breakfast was also superb. Highly recommended.

  • Gary's bed and breakfast is a perfect place to stay. The rooms are lovely size, beautifully presented and the breakfasts are amazing. We would thoroughly recommend this bnb.

    Chris2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was fabulous! The room was v clean and beds were very comfortable. Gary also brought us on a tour on his little garden, to meet his sheep (esp. topsy) and down by the river with the little hut. He also set up the outdoor fire place where we could chill and watch the sheep run! He also accommodated our timings and made delicious breakfast for us. We loved our stay there and would definitely return if we are going back to the area ◡̈ Thank you Gary!

    Benita2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our quick stay at Gary’s Ashdown’s of Dover BnB was quite simply a 6 star experience. We just had the most wonderful time because Gary was such a friendly and helpful host, the beds were just super comfy, the linen luxurious, the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable and tastefully decorated, the outside fire we sat around before and after dinner was devine and the breakfast was fabulous. We really couldn’t recommend this place more highly and we will definitely be back to be spoiled again. Thx Gary! Till next time. Rhys and Linda...........

  • Nicola was a fantastic host who communicated promptly to answer any queries I had. The house is just spectacular, architecturely designed, spotlessly clean, comfortable, warm and has the most amazing views! The house was stocked with many basics and the bathroom products were just Devine, a lovely touch! Thank you! Will most definitely be back again!

    Natasha2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We definitely would stay at Nicolas again. Wonderful place to stay, clean, views stunning and beautifully designed house with everything you need for a family or couples holiday. Nicola provided a smooth check in, responded quickly to all my queries and made sure the house was ready and clean for us. It was so nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We drove to Salamanca markets on Saturday only one hour 10 minutes from Dover. We also recommend a visit to Hastings cave and a swim in the thermal spa. Our aches and pains definitely drifted away after being in the spa. Highly recommend to stay here. Worth the money as well. A touch of luxury we all deserve!! Thanks Nicola
