  • Beautiful home and Doria was a great host and ensured I had everything I need for my stay. I was there to experience the birth of my great grandson and she was wonderful about me having to leave in the middle of the night when I got the call the baby was on his way. I would not only recommend her home but when I come back I look forward to staying again. Barb

  • Doria was a fabulous host, and her place felt like home away from home - very relaxed and comfortable. The location was ideal since we were biking the Bizz Johnson trail and Doria's house is right down the streeet from the trailhead.

  • Ryan and Denises place on Gold Run is a treasure if you get the chance spend several days here. We love to spend at least 3-5 The cabin and the cottage are cozy. The pond was frozen over this last visit. My grandson comes and we sit by the fire , play games, walk the property, Throw rocks in the river ( his favorite) I love the sounds of it at night. This would be my ideal place to retire Don’t miss out on a beautiful home centrally located close to everything in the surround area, This place will always hold a special spot in our hearts Bonnie, Brian and family

  • Place was great! room clean, bathroom supplies provided, free coffee/water, internet, and a nice view of sunrise. Super friendly staff. Only thing i would say to be aware of is that it is a smoker friendly hotel for anyone who's allergic.

  • It's a hotel! And a pretty good one. The rooms are well maintained, the staff is polite. There's a hot tub. As far as I can see, it's probably the most comfortable hotel in the area.

  • My boyfriend and I love this place more than any other airbnb. As a born and raised local, this has always been my favorite property in the area. We stayed 3 weeks and had every amenity needed for a extended stay. It's perfect as a weekend get away if your tired of the grind. Hard to get much signal but good enough Wi-Fi for calling and streaming if you cant fully unplug. We highly value privacy so this is perfect. Even when the main house was occupied we didn't feel encroached on. Nothing in sight but forest and a stream. Keep the window cracked and you can here the creek all day.If you are a fisherman like my boyfriend this place is heaven. If not,you can pan for gold instead. My hosts were just as great and always eager to help and responded quickly. I live 25 minutes away and already want to go back!

    Danielle2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was so sweet and just what we needed for a quick get away. It was affordable, cozy and beautiful.

    Bailee2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Ryan & Denise’s cabin. The place was clean, quaint, and had everything we needed for our one night stay. The river was beautiful right next to the cabin and the place was easy to find with instructions provided and close to town. The loft was a little hard to get to, fold out couch was comfortable for the night and extra sheets were provided. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the property during daylight. Would recommend to others. Note there is another house on the property that you walk by to reach the cabin.

    Charles2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely the best place to stay in all of Susanville, clean beautiful scenery and Ryan responds quickly if you have any questions, couldn’t ask for a better host, Ron and Kitty

    Ron2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t go wrong with this place. Super cozy/cute/clean. Owners are helpful & responsive.

    Jessica2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great space! Our experience: we arrived after dark (DLS had ended), which made it difficult because there were not many outdoor lights on. But once we got to the cabin (not to be confused with the cottage) we were good. The cabin is a comfy in-laws quarters with a big main room for kitchenette/den/fold-out couch. Smart lock was a bit sticky maybe because of the cold. Internet was fine, but the router is in the cottage, so we needed to go in to it to reset and get access. Pretty quiet, rural neighborhood that is right off the beaten path and a great stop when you want to explore the area.

  • I definitely recommend staying here! Linda is such a gracious host and her place is incredibly well located and is basically at the gateway to all the trails, kayaking, etc. She knows the trails very well and is a wealth of information ... the studio itself is really nice and cozy and quiet and we felt right at home ... she even provided coffee and drinks and really everything else you could need for your stay. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you!

Camping mini-cabins we offer are a step up from tent camping, offering basic shelter without the hassle of setting up a tent. This listing is for a cabin we call "Definitely Not the Ritz" and features 3 beds with only a bottom sheet that sleep 4. There's a small nightstand a couple chairs, that's it. This is *almost roughing it*, but we won't spoil your stories if you tell your friends you actually were roughing it. Sleeping bags/blankets, towels and other toiletries are guest's responsibility
The shower and bathrooms for this listing are shared with the other camping cabin guests and the tent campers. It's in a common building about 100 feet away. A coin operated laundry and game room with pool table, ping pong and arcade games is steps away. There is a 5000' runway nearby that allows for convenient fly-in access to our location from virtually anywhere.
The view of the lake from the front of the park is great, but access to the lake is either a few minutes north if you're launching a boat, or about 30 minutes to the south if you want to swim in the lake from a beach as the only beach on the lake is at the south end. Beach parking is free, but the marina parking is $6 four our guests after the discount we've negotiated from the usual $8.
  • Great place. Would definitely stay there again. The convenience of the bathroom and showers was fantastic. The hosts were outstanding.

  • I can’t say much because we just needed a place to crash on our way to Crater Lake. Arrived at 10:30 pm left at 7:45 am the next day. The cabin was nice because we didn’t want to have to set up a tent late at night. Shower was hot, bathrooms clean. Beautiful area but we were not there long enough to have much of an experience to share. Frankie was super helpful and the store staff was friendly.

    Charlene2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Like Frankie says - it is camping without the tent. Basic but comfy. Had a nice steak grilled on the provided fire-grill. Enjoyed the sunset and the quiet. Thanks!

  • This place is super cute! Loaded with fire wood for the nightly bonfire and close to so many out door activities. The people in all the town's around showed amazing hospitality and really helped us to have a great time out there. The weather was warm and sunny so we 4wheeled into some great hiking spots. If you're looking for a mountain getaway and need some peace and quite I'd recommend this place to many! Also Mark is really nice, as well as all the staff there and so helpful. Mark gave us the best driving tip to get home and it made the end of our trip the best it could have been.

  • Once I arrived, I did not stay at the camp site. A storm was brewing above us and pitching a tent wasn't too enticing. I was welcomed and shown the tent place and its amenities. All as described.

Cute farm homestead Wide open vast country Horses grazing, chickens pecking the corn and Piglets playing in the mud. Come see ranch life in person.
Unit C - is a cozy studio guest house Separate from the farm house in summer months this house is open to book In the winter months we substitute the guest house for the private master suite which also is a studio with private bathroom bedroom and private entrance. Access to main kitchen, dining hall with stove and baby grand piano in living room.
Close to Honey Lake, Amador and Susanville :)
  • We stayed in the Master bedroom suite at Troma's. Troma is very nice and accommodating. She made sure we were very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was fun to wake up to the sound of the roosters. We would definitely stay there again. It is much more personal than a hotel.

  • The cutest farm animals. Exactly what we were hoping for.

    Brendan2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! It is a farmhouse, with historical significance, so please go into this experience knowingly. This might not be the best fit for everyone, but our family had a wonderful time. Our host allowed us to help feed her animals and this was definitely a highlight of our trip! The piglets were especially cute! The location has picturesque views of the mountains and sunsets/sunrises were spectacular. Beds were super comfy, the fireplace kept us warm and we all slept well. Janesville and Susanville are conveniently nearby for any additional amenities one might need. Many thanks for hosting us!

    Reve2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Troma was a wonderful host! She made me feel at home. Even brought me some sweet tea (I’m from the south so that was such a nice surprise!). She tolerated my unusually energetic dog too. Great stop over in the middle of a long road trip

    Ashley2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a place to relax , forget your worries and spend some time with animals in a great farm setting this is the place. I was the first to book at Troma's place and she is well on her way to being a Superhost! I booked at the last minute and received a quick response. There was another family staying at the main house who also booked later the same day. I communicated with Troma through email and by phone with no problems. As I got closer to the property she let me know that she had some last minute items to get for me and the other guests, but I was more than welcome to get settled. When Troma came back she provided outstanding hospitality getting me settled as well as the other guests (who arrived late into the night), all while taking care of the duties the farm required in between. Amazing!

  • Amanda was super sweet when we met her. Her home was sparkling clean and was even trying to go way out of her way to make us feel as comfortable as possible.

  • Just as the description says; a room in a sweet mountain home. Amanda and her dog Tilly were both very hospitable. We had a nice clean room with a private bathroom. The place was quiet and a wonderful vintage fireplace kept the lovely tree house warm in the otherwise cold November day and night. If you know the danish word “hygge”, Amanda’s place is full of exactly that ☺️

  • Mandy is a great host. She is very thoughtful and considerate when sharing her home with us. The place is super comfortable, all the details to feel at home. The house is very quiet and the area peaceful. Only 15' drive to lake Almanor/Chester town and 45' to Lassen park. Her beautiful dog Tally is very friendly and playful! She totally deserves to be SUPERHOST! thanks Mandy!!

  • Super close to Lassen. A lovely home with a cute pup! Wonderful hosts, I felt welcome immediately. Bed was very cozy and the sheets were super warm- so nice after a long day of hiking. Wine and coffee provided and I got to try some delicious home made soup over some lovely morning conversation. Would return! Thanks again!!

  • We had a great time staying at Amanda’s. We were looking for a nice dog-friendly place to stay near Lake Almanor, and were happy to find Amanda’s charming and comfy home in Westwood. Everything was cozy and clean, and the bed is very comfy. Our Husky Ellie had a blast playing with Amanda’s lovely dog Tilly. Amanda is super friendly and made us feel right at home. I loved the sweet and whimsical decor of the house, and would definitely stay again! Westwood is a small and quaint town, and was a perfect place to stop on our way up from the Sierras to Bend. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you Amanda and Tilly!

The camping mini-cabins we offer are basic, ready-made shelter - a step up from the hassle of tent camping. This listing is for a cabin we call "Definitely Not the Hilton" and features 4 beds with only a bottom sheet that sleeps 5. There's a small nightstand and a couple chairs, that's it.
There are great hiking trails to explore around the lake. One of the best all-skill level ones is detailed here: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/eagle-lake-recreation-trail The view of the lake from the front of the park is great, but access to the lake is either a few minutes north if you're launching a boat, or about 30 minutes to the south if you want to swim in the lake from a beach as the only beach on the lake is at the south end. Beach parking is free, but the marina parking is $6 four our guests after the discount we've negotiated from the usual $8.
  • A really unique experience staying in a cabin in the woods, scenic drive, central store had all the amenities needed, Frankie was a really cool and helpful guy that was accommodating with my late night arrival.

  • Jennifer's home exceeded expectations! It' such a beautiful area and a perfect cozy home. We stopped in on a road trip between Death Valley and our house in Oregon-- if we would have known what an awesome area it was and what a wonderful home we would be staying at-- we would have planned a longer stay! The luxurious soak in the claw-foot tub was a definite highlight and we loved all of the country/vintage style decor that made it clear that it was such a loved space. We plan to return over the summer to enjoy the area and the space more thoroughly!

This is a 570 sq ft building with BR, BA and living room. The inside was rebuilt in 2018. Outside siding is vinyl and will be replaced in 2020. It is located in Indian Valley which is beautiful. Lots of deer, turkey, and bear. We rent only when we are in the main house or when our caretakers are there. The kitchen has a coffee and tea maker, refrigerator, hot plate, electric skillet and microwave. We added a new cabinet with sink. When we are there we can arrange to provide breakfast.
There are a few projects still to finish on the outside but the inside is finished. Heating is electric heaters. Portable AC but summer nights are in the 60s.
We are 12 miles from Lake Almanor, 5 miles from Round Valley reservoir. We can guide for birdwatching or tell you where to go. Bicycling is very popular around the valley.

  • Cozy little mobile surrounded by trees with the amenities of home. Check in was a breeze even though we arrived late. About a 20 minute drive to Lassen College where our kid is. Bonus snow storm in September to boot. Hope to stay there again.

  • I stayed for one night with my father and sister after a day of hiking in Lassen Volcanic National Park. We checked in late, so we called Mark and the other hosts ahead of time, and there was no issue. The place was quite spacious. I slept on the sofa bed, and it was decently comfortable. I'd recommend this place for a short stay for exploring the area.

  • Good place for what you pay! Host is nice and ready to come at any time to help with anything. He gave us firewood for free, which was pretty nice of him. We stayed one day there and we found all the kitchen essentials that you would want to have there (salt, oil skillet etc), also there were clean towels and single use shampoo and gel. There were 3 chairs that we used to sit outside by fireplace (for which firewood was provided by host). FAU/Heater was working great. It's not luxury place in any means, but it's good for what you are paying 👍!

  • The one bedroom log cabin was so comfortable! It is a sweet little cabin with a nice front porch that just draws you in. Bright and clean inside with a comfy recliner and couch along with a nice bathroom. The bed was so comfortable and had such soft sheets that we just wanted to sleep in! We were there during the Paul Bunyan Blues Festival which is a nice small town event celebrating Westwood's logging history. Enjoyable parade, arts and crafts booths, food, beverages, logging competitions, live music and several inflatable blow up slides and "jumperoos" for the kids. Thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations!

  • One Saturday morning my wife and I decided it was time to go camping, thanks to Steve we successfully completed our first Northern California camping trip. It was so much better than reserving a campsite at the nearby campgrounds, because you have a much higher level of privacy than the standard campground. Steve has a tent setup, but we opted to use our own. Not because it wasn’t a good tent, but because we had just purchased a new one and wanted to test it out. The drive on Eagle Lake Rd. into the campsite was beautiful, but before you arrive go check out Lassen Ale Works at the Boardroom to grab a pizza and fill your growler for the night! Upon arrival Steve gave us a lay of the land and showed us where everything was, we also met Dream, his friendly doggo. We setup camp and then took a short walk to the lake, it’s only about a 15 min. walk from the campsite, maybe longer if you’re a slow walker. The rest of the evening was quiet and consisted of sitting by the campfire and drinking that growler I mentioned. We will definitely be back to Steve’s spot and highly recommend it to others!

    Daniel2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The campsite is near so many lakes and hiking spots. Steve was a friendly, sweet, thoughtful and amazing host. Couldn’t think of a better way to spend our 4th of July weekend.

    Michelle2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great place to stay outdoor , we loved the private camping feel. Steve accepted our last minute booking request and also had put up the tent for us before we reached, provided us firewood and battery lights too. It was very nice calm place to camp without much preparation. He has a dog named "dream" , such a sweet dog :) We definitely would recommend his place.

    Sukrutha2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Another wonderful trip to our land of paradise. Steve’s place is perfect.

    Eleza2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to camp out for a few days. Nothing fancy but Steve had a propane stove, lantern and the fire ring all ready to go when we arrived. He was also very understanding to our late arrival time.

    Brandon2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was a terrific host. Great communication before arrival. Everything was ready and just as advertised. A great retreat to the outdoors without typical campground distractions. Thanks Steve!

  • My girlfriend, 2 dogs, and I had a great time at this house. There was absolutely no one in sight. We were there for 3 days and we did not see any cars or people. We walked down to the lake and our dogs loved it. The only issue was my dogs’ paws got sore after running around on the rocks outside. Other than that we had a lot of fun and we would definitely come back again.

  • Beautiful house. A quiet retreat.

    Stacey2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a secluded lake house with amazing views then this is the place!

    Robert2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is stylish and close enough to the various activities in the area despite having the sense of being away from it all - which we were looking for. We were able to visit Mt. Lassen (the vista point on the way to the Subway Cave has great views of Lassen and Shasta), drive in to Susanville for lunch (check out Lassen Ale Works and say hi to Margaret!), go off-roading on a few of the numerous trails in the area, and boat rental on Eagle Lake during our visit. Boat tip: For the rental we recommend stopping by the marina a day or two before you rent it to make sure there is availability and to save your spot. There are barely any neighbors which made for a nice peaceful, quiet stay with some amazing stargazing. The decor of the cabin and updated furniture was great. Having a washer and dryer, and dishwasher in the house was also a big plus. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, spices, and serveware and we enjoyed lots of cooking in it. The host was very communicative, helpful and accommodating. I also appreciated the various tips + tricks emails we received leading up to our stay. All in all a great place to call home base during your trip up to the Mt. Lassen/Eagle Lake area!

    Greg2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Only a handful of homes have been built at this gated community so this house is private with no neighbors in sight. It sits on a hill surrounded by sagebrush and juniper trees with an expansive view of the Eagle Lake. The community has a picnic and launch area for non motorized watercraft but the water level was low and the banks were too muddy for swimming or for putting in our kayaks so we had to drive to one of the two public boat launch areas. We were disappointed that we could not swim from the shore because of the mud and the algae in the shallow water so we rented a boat at the Eagle Lake Marina and motored to the deep water where the swimming was grand. That being said, the house is comfortable and refreshingly uncluttered. The rooms are inviting with furniture that looks new in a modern style and the beds are beautifully made with colorful comforters and pillows. The kitchen is a dream, well organized and stocked with quality pots, dishes, flatware, and small appliances. If you are planning to cook, bring groceries with you because the nearest stores are 30 minutes away. All in all, we enjoyed staying here and I especially loved the remoteness of this home. With no neighbors in sight and no road noise it was wonderfully quiet. We lounged on the deck awed by the view and by the amazing variety of birds and we felt blessed by the solitude. It doesn’t get much better than that.

  • Wonderful response and info from host. They didn't have to, but refunded money as we had to leave due to wildfire nearby. Will be back in Spring:)

My house has two bed room on the East end of up stairs. You share a bath room with claw tub to shower or bath. Down stair you have full use of the kitchen, as this is not a B&B, there is a formal dinning room , living room and TV room with a bathroom . Out side there is a large yard to lay around, two bikes to ride around town. Lake Almanor and Lassen Volcanic National Park are with in 1 hour. Susanville and the Bizz Johnson Trail are close by. There are lakes, rivers, streams to hike to.
Westwood is an old logging town and is full of old houses and friendly people. It was one of the biggest mill towns in California at the turn of the last century.
  • Lovely host in great place.

    Milena2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • David's place is extremely COZY and SPACIOUS, it was the perfect place to stay to visit LASSEN national park. A good piece of information: if you are visiting Lassen, the MAIN PARK area is less than 45 min away from this place, and the CINDER CONE trail (which is one of the prettiest parts of the park) is about an hour in the opposite direction, so if you want to see all the HIGHLIGHTS, this location is PERFECT. Also, David is SUCH a cool host!

    Daniela2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • David is a very down to earth person and accommodating. Checking in was very easy and I could come and go without any issues. His place is a short distance from Susanville and Lassen National Forest. David is passionate about the area and shared many tips. His place has many local travel guides and books for visitors. Parking is easy and the surrounding area is beautiful. Thanks David!

  • David was very kind. I enjoyed the conversations. Very cozy! The bed is comfortable. Bathroom very clean. I highly recommend Staying at at his home. I will definitely be going back in the future!

  • The photos do not give enough credit to this house. The room I stayed in actually had a bed, not a sofa-bed and was very nice. David is a courteous and respectful host who communicates well and responds in a timely manner.

  • The property was just next to the Eagle Lake. Perfect spot for us to spend a quiet long weekend there. Was able to locate the property using Google map. However, took us some time to locate the entrance. Nearest town Susanville was 32 miles away..so plan your groceries accordingly. Everything was good. However, although the host did mention about this before, but that for the price we paid, we were expecting propane cylinder for the BBQ to be provided by the host.

  • Beautiful home and everything you could ask for.

    Pat2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! Beautiful home with such a beautiful view. Summertime the fishing has to be done down on the south side of the lake as that’s where the deep water is. It’s just a quick 25-30 minute drive from the house. House was super clean and extremely comfortable. Absolutely loved the time spent in this house. Highly recommend it if you’re interested in spending time around this sacred lake.

The mansion was built in 1914 and was the home of T.B. Walker. The founding father of Westwood. The building is elegantly rugged, unpretentious, and well maintained. Each room is decorated uniquely and very comfortable. Three rooms have private bathrooms while two of the rooms share a bathroom. Each guest will be treated to a scrumptious breakfast, included in the cost, and with prior notice can purchase an afternoon tea service. Walking distance to pizza, cafe and bar and store.
  • Robin's place is a steal! What a great location near one of the best pizza parlors I've ever been to (truly!), and great accommodations. Everything was easy and delightful, from check-in to the delicious breakfast to nice conversation by a warm fireplace. I could've sat there all day! I would highly recommend staying here.

    Amy2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Walker Inn is absolutely amazing!! Rob and his wife go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The Blue room was sparkling clean, and well kept. My personal favorite part was the included breakfast (eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, etc!!) I highly recommend staying here, we will be back!!

    Hans2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Charming lodging owned by kind hosts near Lassen Volcanic National Park. Good breakfast with great attention to detail. Would stay again and we enjoyed the mercantile shop too!

    Steven2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We felt like Queen and King and enjoyed the big room, selfmade delicous cake and a good American breakfast. Thanks a lot to Rob and his wife. We would come again to Mansion house.

  • This is on the top three Air BnB list on my list. The hospitality is outstanding. We checked in at sundown and were we were greeted with home made shortbread. The hosts are very cordial and we had great conversation, despite all the renovation work that was going on. You never feel unattended. The town is quaint and very pretty, the property is a renovation of an old mansion. Robin and team were setting up a cafe downstairs when we were vising and we got to see the finished results the morning of our departure: very beautiful. Everyone I met at the home became friends - will definitely visit again. And given my fondness for food, I must end on a food note again: at departure we were treated to home made gourmet breakfast. I came back with a huge debt of gratitude. Would definitely visit again.

The Eagle's Retreat is a 2 bedroom, 1 full bath mobile home featuring a large living area with large TV and Satellite TV service, a large kitchen with center bar, a paved brick patio with BBQ, and spectacular views of the Lake and Mountains. A coin operated laundry and game room with pool table, ping pong and arcade games is steps away.
There is a 5000' runway nearby that allows for convenient fly-in access to our location from virtually anywhere.
  • What a hidden gem. Once we arrived the front desk ended up giving us an upgrade, which was a bonus. The people who worked at the park where super friendly, very welcoming and also understanding. For being such a small space it was actually very spacious. The view was stunning. The environment was extremely peaceful. Probably the most peaceful place I’ve ever been to in the United States. Can’t wait to come again. Im even considering moving to this peaceful paradise.

  • Nice place in Westwood. The kitchen was nice and there are plenty of cooking pots and pans. There is also a cutting board. The sink does not have a garbage disposal. The stove top gets a bit hot as it is a pilot lit stove. The bed was comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and pillows in the bedroom cabinets. All in all I enjoyed my stay. There are active train tracks close by and I wouldn't have minded them so much if I didnt have to wake up super early.

Beautiful views of the lake from dining area and living area bay windows. Note: If you're planning on sleeping 6 you will be VERY cozy.

  • We stayed at Frankie's Pelican house. It's location on Eagle Lake is amazing and the place is clean and decorated nicely. Frankie is a great host and provided us with things we had left at home. He was easy to communicate with and we enjoyed the stay.

    Colleen2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Frankie was by far the friendliest host we've ever met! He was really responsive (usually within 15 minutes) and extremely helpful with travel tips and local hikes. The Osprey cabin/tiny house was perfect for my boyfriend and me and our dog. Plenty of room for kids in the loft area too. It was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking your own meals. We were worried about the weather being too hot but there are tons of large trees for shade and the breeze cooled the cabin down to the perfect temperature at night. The location of the park is perfect for a city getaway and we'll definitely be back!
