  • Stephen's place was perfect. The house only a few feet from the lake and the view was beautiful. Everything was comfortable and very clean. We look forward to staying again in a different season to enjoy different recreational experiences.

  • If you’re searching for a clean, cozy cottage with an extraordinary view, search no more... just book this property! Comfy furniture too! This cottage doesn’t feel like you’re in a rental property. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more! I highly recommend this property! The Host is also easy to reach and responds quickly.

  • Cute little place. Great for a weekend getaway. The view of the water in the morning is just beautiful. We went in November so the water was too cold to enjoy but the firepit and night was fun. Great place to stay with a couple people.

  • Stephen's cozy little cottage, is wonderfully located just far enough away from in town Gardiner. It got interstate access within 5 mins of the location, and it has a interstate service stop for all your impromptu needs! It's quaint, and quiet and the scenery is as true to Maine as can be! We did experience some weather during our stay, and it caused power outages, which last overnight. Bring some candles and flashlights, as this is expected right on the water in Maine. Stephen was amazing checking in with us, and keeping in touch, to make our stay as comfy as possible.

    Jennifer2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • The peace and tranquility is just what was needed.

    Angela2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little cabin on the lake! We visited in early October, and the fall colors were in full bloom.

    Matthew2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage. We enjoyed canoeing around the pond with the lovely autumn colors, watching the birds and sitting on the porch just relaxing. Just wonderful.

    Cindy2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen's Camp is a great small and private feeling retreat on a nice section of the pond. Simple to find with easy access to various sites and amenities. It is perfect for a couple. We got the last of summer warmth and the beginning of fall colors in just one week. Would recommend over and over.

  • Wonderful place

  • I’m not sure words do justice to how nice this location is. I selected it due to its perfect location (the perfect spot for the night before Acadia), and its amazing price. When arriving, I was relieved at the ease of check in and condition of the house, absolutely immaculate. The room had every single thing we needed and more, including bathrobes! The bed was comfortable and the view from the porch was incredible. We are already planning our way back north again, however plan on staying in Hallowell for the entire stay for we never even got to try out kayaking and bike riding in the area, or to explore all of the small shops that it has to offer! Thank you so much for everything, we will be back soon!

  • Secure, cozy room in a tidy old house in a town I’ve never heard of. Sounded great and it was indeed great. Try it out

  • The room had anything you might imagine needing. Andrea was quick to respond to questions as well!

    Michael2019-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea's place is lovely! I stayed there as a quick layover on a trip en route to Canada, and it was just what I needed. I'd love to return in the future for a longer stay. Andrea's kindness and hospitality are noteworthy!

    Kerry2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • My bed was so comfortable! I arrived late and left early, so I didn’t actually get to meet Andrea. But I felt so welcomed by the extra touches that went above and beyond what I expected...the water filter, coffee, chocolate and so much more! Thanks again Andrea!

    Mary2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time, the accommodations were excellently maintained and made our trip perfect.

    Alexander2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea’s place is TOP NOTCH!! Beautiful home, great location, amazing amenities. Cleanliness is a big deal for me so I was a little worried but from the moment I walked through the door I had to take off my shoes (just like home!) my room was spotless and Andrea was cleaning the common areas ALL the time. She was super friendly, full of recommendations but also was very respectful of personal space and my need for alone time. I could write an entire page of how lovely this home and Andrea were, I definitely will be returning!!

  • Andrea was great with communication. He made sure I reach his place without any hiccups.

    Kiran2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea has great attention to detail and goes out of the way to make sure that you have everything you need. The amount of amenities provided coupled with the low cost create substantial value. I will go out of my way to stay here again if available in the future.

This 1-2 person cabin is cozy, simple, and quiet, which makes it a perfect place to getaway and enjoy one of Maine's most incredible lakes! It can hold more guests if you provide your own air mattress and/or tent. Use of kayaks, paddle boards, fire pit, gas grill, and dock slip for your own boat included.
Our cabin has everything you need for the perfect getaway, whether that be two nights or two weeks. We provide you with linens, a stocked kitchen (cookware, utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, etc), a full size refrigerator, microwave, electric convection hot plate, a coffee maker (coffee K cups & tea included), wifi, smart Tv, propane grill, fire pit (with wood provided), and more! We also have kayaks and paddle boards available for use FREE of charge! We want our space to be a place where you can get away, feel at home, and be worry free so you can truly relax while you're staying with us.
Our cabin is located on a small peninsula of a very beautiful Maine Lake (Cobbosseecontee). The road is an association in which most of the cabins are occupied by the owners and their families, which keep things relatively quiet. Our property has a shallow waterfront area for swimming and a dock to tie a boat up to. The sounds of the loons singing on the lake at night will be a peaceful moment you will never forget! (Currently however, the property behind ours was purchased and a home is being built. This means there will be construction during the work week until the home is complete).
  • This place is quaint and very minimalist. It truly was the perfect spot for me and my boyfriends weekend get away. The lake is beautiful and we are hoping to come back in the warmer months to really enjoy the water. I’d recommend it for any couple who loves the great outdoors and doesn’t mind maine cabin living!

    Caroline2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here for a weekend for our honeymoon and everything was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed thoughtful touches like maine-made local products and wine. The location of the cabin is beautiful and would love to come back during the summertime when we could enjoy the amenities of the lake a little more.

    Faith2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at the cosy cabin, and it was absolutely that. We stayed late September into early October, and it was chilly at night, but warmed up in the mornings once we turned the small heater on. It's amazing how quiet the place was - even in spite of the building work happening behind it. We made use of the kayaks and were surprised by the fact we had the lake to ourselves, and it that the water had retained some of the summer warmth in the shallower parts! We made use of the convection hob, microwave and BBQ and all worked perfectly. There was firewood if we'd wanted to have a bonfire, but the beautiful Maine thunder storm took hold of the night, so we didn't end up using it. The cabin is a wonderful getaway for two people, we felt so lucky to be staying there!

  • Such a wonderful place to stay. Highly redommend.

    Jesse2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and peaceful. Build a campfire at night and listen to the loons in the morning.

    Steve2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint cabin is the best we've spent time in for a while. It's calm and quiet, away from town. The amenities we're amazing. Between the kayaks, and paddleboards, to the firepit with wood avaliable. I would definitely return next time we head out to Maine.

Your own island! Who has not dreamed of having one? This little gem of an island can be yours for a week. Little Diamond Island is a 1/4 acre island located in Lake Cobbossee in West Gardiner Maine. Just 20 minutes from Augusta Please note: good housekeeping is required of everyone. No cleaning service is provided.
Little Diamond Island in Lake Cobbossee is a unique lake front vacation rental. Rustic 3 room cabin with lake views from every window. The lake is just steps away in any direction. Sandy bottom swimming areas and the lake is great for boating, canoeing, kayaking or jet skiing. Island vacationing is not for everyone. If you love camping (not the same as RV'ing) you will love this. It is a lot like camping except you have a real bed to sleep in. Rustic in nature there is no electricity or running water. We do provide a composting toilet, propane stove, refrigerator and solar campers shower. This is a peaceful spot for anyone who loves nature. Except for the occasional boat the only sounds you hear are the young osprey begging for food in the nest above the cottage and the mournful cry of the loons as they float past the island. You can see nesting osprey, pileated woodpeckers, turtles, hummingbirds and otter.
  • Awesome spot

  • Magical, tranquil, beautiful and rejuvenating. An outstanding and unique location that allows you to disconnect yet still have all the comforts...

    Karen2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful secluded spot on the lake. Unique. Fun to canoe to and from the site, and having the canoe throughout our stay was wonderful. Did a whole lot of canoeing, swimming, enjoying the lake. Would definitely return.

    Jake2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful. Exceeded expectations for a peaceful getaway. Very cozy and almost everything you might need is stocked in the cabin, incase you forgot something. Fishing was great...one of the best in the state. Propane fire pit was awesome. I hope to have the opportunity to return. You'll love it.

  • This is a Very Special Location! We’ve been here 3 times. It offers a rarely found experience with a gorgeous lake, a dear cabin & a private island with a canoe. The birds are outstanding & all of nature. It’s in a relaxed & friendly part of wonderful Maine. All of which helps the busyness of life fall away.

    Sarah2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great little island. Came just before a rain storm, energy was wonderful. Sun came out and with all windows open dried out, aired out and was very comfortable. We brought picnic items so didn't bother with cooking. We brought our own cooler with ice. Plates, utensils all there, washed up in the lake. Just enjoyed the canoe - caught up to a family of loons and got some great photos, loved hearing their calls during the day and some at night. Did lots of swimming and reading on the deck. Bed was comfortable, we put down a sleeping bag then our sheets and our own pillows. (there are several pillows there) The light blanket there was just right for early morning cool. The wind was just right for keeping us cool during the day on the deck . Lovely to hear the wind in the trees. Was visited by a humming bird so we cleaned out the dirty feeder very thoroughly and made up the proper 1 to 4 sugar to water mix and put it out. The two female hummers were very appreciative and came often after that. We also were visited by a Pileated Woodpecker. Was a pleasure to stay (we both grew up camping) and very relaxing and quiet. No noisy neighbors. A real get away retreat.

  • If you have a camper's heart, but don't want to sleep in a tent or have your vacation spoiled by rain and also want to just once in your life have an island to yourself...here's your personal heaven on earth. We loved this sweet place. Be forewarned though, that you will need to bring water, propane, batteries, bedding, towels as well as food and all the other camping things one packs. The lake is beautiful but big, so it was choppy when we were there and as we are not spring chickens, challenging with a canoe. However, most worthwhile and wonderful. Enjoy1

Come and enjoy this unique log cabin / post&beam just minutes walk from cobbossee stream. A wonderful place which can be enjoyed during any season, in the winter enjoy ice fishing on pleasant pond 10 minutes away, Cobbossoconte lake 20 min. or take an hours drive to the slopes to do some skiing. During the summer come enjoy the lakes and the slower pace of life, bike or run the country roads.
  • The cabin was beautiful. It looks nice in the pictures, but so much better in person. Such a relaxing getaway. Will definitely love to stay again.

  • Cabin is beautiful! Pictures don’t do it justice. Had absolutely everything you need... plenty of pots, pans, spices, fire wood, blankets etc.! Highly recommend making a few s’mores by the fireplace.

  • We LOVED staying here! The kids had an absolute blast playing in the snow. The neighborhood hill right around the corner kept us busy most of the weekend. The cabin is so adorable and cozy. We truly enjoyed every minute!

    Meghan2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This has probably been one of the best experiences I’ve had with an Airbnb to this date. This cabin was beautiful, larger than it looked in pictures, and was everything you could want from a cabin in the woods at an excellent value. I came up with a group of friends for a weekend and all of us loved our stay. If you’re looking for a relaxing, woodsy getaway, this is the place for you. Patrick was an excellent host and came by when we first arrived to check in that we were happy with everything as well as to provide some great tips on things to do in the area. Favorite takeaways: sitting by the well-stocked fireplace, cooking in the roomy kitchen, watching deer run through the backyard, and staring up at the bright nighttime stars.

Eco-Cabin 1 was featured on the Maine Cabin Masters DIY network program in February, 2019. This cabin holds over 100 years of family history, yet has been elegantly renovated for guests' comfort and convenience. The cabins are accessible only by foot, about a quarter-mile walk on a camp road from a small parking area. Carts will be provided for hauling your gear. Enjoy quiet reflection from the screened in porch overlooking Cobbossee Stream. A shared dock is steps away from Eco-Cabin 1.
This is a rustic, traditional Maine camp experience. There is no shower, only a "solar shower" that is warmed by the sun and then hung from a tree for you to use. Be prepared to bring your own sleeping bags or bedding. We provide two full size beds. The cabins have simple kitchens with hand-pumped water (not potable, bring drinking water or be prepared to filter or treat water) and a gas cook stove, composting toilets, a gas stove for heat, solar-powered lights, porches overlooking the stream, a shared dock, and a campfire pit. Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with a double bed.
The Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary was generously bequeathed to the Kennebec Land Trust in November 2016 upon owner Kendra Wakefield Shaw’s passing. Its 113 acres feature historic cabins and 4,000 feet of frontage on Cobbossee Stream in West Gardiner. The stream reaches a depth of sixty feet, creating a pond-like environment. The property’s coniferous and deciduous woods, vernal pools, and wetlands are important habitat for many species of birds, mammals, and plants. This is a special place, easily accessible to Maine's population centers, yet the Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary offers the solitude and relaxation of a much more remote location. The Wakefield family enjoyed these cabins for over a hundred years, and we are pleased to share the experience with both the local community and visitors to Maine.
  • This is my second visit to this beautiful sanctuary. We will return again and again. This place is magical! 💛🏞🌋

  • If your looking for a beautiful Sanctuary away from everything look no further. This cabin provides all the basics you need. • A wonderful getaway that’s incredibly easy to get to. Not far off 95, close to Augusta and not to mention the amazing stream the cabin sits almost on top of. We had a blast with the canoe and brought tubes to float in the stream. If you want a luxurious cabin though, this isn’t it. There’s no refrigerator and or potable water on site. This is a true camp and worth every penny we paid.

This is a 2nd story apartment above our garage with a small but fully equipped kitchen, full size refrigerator, microwave, electric stove/oven, double sink (no dishwasher), a plentiful supply of dishes, tableware, cookware, new queen bed, bathroom with shower, hair dryer, bathroom necessities, living area with couch/queen size futon, Smart TV with Apple TV, Fubo TV, wifi, iron & ironing board.
The apartment is above the garage of our 150 year-old re-furbished home. The outdoor space consists of ample parking, flower gardens, a large screened porch off the back of house leading to a large deck and adjacent to a 21’ diameter above-ground pool. The apartment has a private entrance.
A major advantage for our guests is our location. We are within walking distance to many amenities and services, such as banks, churches, eating establishments, gas, groceries, recreation, hair salons, gift shop, library, and, of course, the lake. The local high school grounds offer trails for walking both summer and winter.
  • Janes apartment was much more spacious than I expected. It was an amazing value for a weekend getaway or an easy drive into Augusta. The temp was set at 68 and it’s perfect for us, we prefer a cooler sleeping temperature. Everything you need for preparing a quick meal and there were English muffins for us and half and half for our coffee. My only negative is that the train came thru at 3:30 am and it blows its horn a couple of times. Get up and Pee....If you have no problem getting back to sleep - this is a great place to stay! Our bed was very comfy with plenty of blankets -on the firm side. Jane made sure to meet us before departing in the morning. I appreciated the maple syrup bottle and the beautiful daffodils that greeted us on arrival.

Funky waterfront retreat in the pine canopy with private full bath with hot shower, use of canoe, grounds, dock, decks, outdoor chairs, and hammock. Woodsy and a somewhat secluded location, yet convenient to Augusta off Route 17. Ideal location for a stop going to or from Acadia National Park or the Common Ground Fair. Enjoy a campfire in the evening. Host lives on site if you need anything.
The waterfront is Togus Pond, also known as Worromontogus Lake. Spacious queen suite in the pine canopy with gorgeous views of the water and use of canoe. Completely separate from the downstairs where the caretaker lives. The stairway to the upstairs is long at 16 steps. It is not for the faint of heart: not suitable for those who have trouble climbing stairs, are afraid of heights, or children. But the reward is being in the tree canopy with gorgeous views of the water. Your experience is best described by Katy, our 2016 caretaker: Nestled down a trail of soft pine needles and surrounded by evergreen trees, lies a place in the minds of many passer byers. Most have spent one night here, sometimes two. It has been a certain reprieve for all who enter. Each life greeted with warm hospitality and offered a sit on the deck overlooking the last rays of the sun hitting the pond below. A welcomed sit it is for folks, as they have tired from their travels. Many have seen some spectacular sights along their journeys here, yet this quiet little abode with the swinging pendulum of hemlock limbs, lulls them to a peaceful state away from the noises of the world. Gazing at the waters, tensions lift and faces soften. Contemplation of this place and perhaps even their lives lay in the silence. Upon entering their room, they all smile widely. They climb the outdoor stairs and “Ooooh”s can be heard as they express their initial reactions to the panoramic window views of the embracing pines. There are many different types of people that come here. Couples looking to get away from city life. Friends on excursions. Folks heading to the local fairs. Even the occasional business man needing a place to lay his head. Peoples from all over the world—Germany, France, Australia, China. Almost all have been or are going to incredible Acadia National Park.
Nice and quiet unpaved road with a low speed limit of 15 mph. Property is set back from road, right on the water. Curved driveway means you cannot see the road. Woodsy and secluded, yet convenient to Augusta. All other homes on the road are year-round residences.
  • Great stay and great value :)

If you are interested in rustic camping but are done with sleeping in a tent, and want to experience Maine on the cheap, this electrified space has housed many a guest over the years. It is an unfinished but cozy 1.5 story loft over a garage. There is no running water and it is NOT suitable for small children due to ladder access to sleeping loft and high deck. There is a camp toilet which is the responsibility of the guest to empty and rinse daily if used. Wifi inside or yard depending.
This space is not for the faint of heart, the ladder is steep and not safe for someone over 200 pounds. There is a small cot and couch on main floor if needed. There is a hotplate, microwave, toaster oven, 2 cup coffee maker, radio, ceiling fan, queen sized mattress and boxspring, and plenty of outlets. A handyperson could get a long term deal on this property if they were willing to put in finishing work. Water is available at the hose. This space is only available during the summer and early fall due to lack of heat and insulation. The whole property is full of paths and is situated on 5 acres of land.
This is a quiet neighborhood on a state route. Backroads lead to the mountains, main roads lead to the coast. We are 1 mile from the public beach. There are biking trails and Mt. Pisgah is a short ride away.
  • This place is super bad ass love it second stay for me

  • For the free-spirited, money conscious traveler! Perhaps one of the most memorable and fun places I’ve stayed. Certainly not for the faint of heart... but if it looks intriguing, go for it and be ready for a memory that’ll last a lifetime. LOVED staying here.

    Jamie2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • It is what it is, much better than camping but not glamping as described! Definitely good fun, thanks for having me Elizabeth.

    Philip2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth’s place was a great if you’re looking to stay at a place that’s between camping and glamping. When walking in, the radio was playing and the musical instruments were a very nice touch! The bed that’s up on the loft is comfortable, and I slept well. I didn’t use the appliance though. Elizabeth was really friendly and even offered fresh peaches. Thanks!

  • This is a great place if you need a good night's sleep on a tight travel budget. There is a clean bed or a sofa to sleep on. Sheets and blankets are provided. The host is very friendly. The rooster will wake you in the morning if you forgot your alarm clock!

The sweet touches of things to make you feel comfortable and also Andrea is so kind and very quick to reply and know you personally by knowing our names. • Our stay at Ashley’s cabin was a lovely experience for me, my husband and dog! The secluded and serene location was perfect for a nice relaxing getaway. The river fulfilled all my husbands fishing goals for our trip. The one and only thing I would change about the cabin is the view from the deck of the river is a little obstructed with shrubbery. It would really open up the view if it was cleared out a bit. Ashley was accommodating and checked in to make sure our trip was going well, she even checked to make sure we were ok after a big storm! I would love to stay here again in the future!

    Jennifer2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • A cute cabin next to the Kennebec River. If you are looking for a place to disconnect from electronics yet be close to sites and restaurants, this is the place to be. The view of the river in the morning on the deck or in the evening by the fire pit are picturesque!!

    Gina2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • A magical spot! The location is beautiful, and the cabin is cozy. We did have problems with heat & hot water (due to electric utility work--not under the control of our hosts), but our hosts responded very quickly. If you can tolerate a few quirks with the building and are not afraid of lighting an old gas range, it's a lovely place to spend some quiet days, watching the geese, marvelling at the leaves turning almost before your eyes, taking advantage of the cozy but well-equipped kitchen, and perusing the amply-stocked bookshelves.

    Denise2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley’s cabin was THE picturesque Maine experience! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience all Maine has to offer in the coziest setting!

    Amber2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Well worth the $ and would likely return. No frills and no TV or wifi etc. Just a wonderful place to escape the world and get back to nature. Total seclusion and wonderful place if traveling with a pet. My dog loved the river and huge property to run and play. Would definately recommend this cabin and Ashley was a great host.

    Karen2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Sacred River Cabin was excellent. It’s a huge amount of incredibly private space - excellent for relaxation and fun on the water. Can’t say enough good things about this place, our dogs wish they could stay forever.

    Tom2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location is superb, quiet and secluded along a river. The cabin is rustic and comfortable with a great grill and deck, the bed on the closed in porch is lovely. We had a great time visiting with our dog. Ashley was easy to communicate with, we’d definitely go again.

Antique cape farmhouse 2'nd floor bedroom with full size bed. Short walk to the Barn at Silver Oaks down the street. There is a photo, but because people don't look, there are 4 cats! Located on 5 acres of land, 1 mi from downtown, public beach on Maranacook Lake and Norcross Point (free concerts held every Sunday July-August) 10 miles from Augusta, 1 hour drive to Reid State Park on Atlantic Ocean. Free range chickens and geese. Abundance of wildlife. Maine living.
For now this is just a bedroom available, but by next fall I am hoping to have the entire 2'nd floor available for air BnB. This is a NON SMOKING apartment. Cigarette smoking must be done at least 50 feet from entrance of home, and filters put in designated containers due to free range chickens. There are cats and a dog on the property, so if you have allergies probably not a good fit. However, there are no inlaid carpets; pine floors abound. Clean and mellow owner on site and shares apartment with guest during stay. Cooking facilities and all cooking items available. There is a public laundromat about 1.5 miles from home.
My neighborhood is located on a state route, but it is a quiet neighborhood and most of us keep to ourselves. I have 5 private acres that have paths to walk and gardens to enjoy, as well as wild edibles for your enjoyment. Lots of wild birds, including turkeys, as well.
  • Wonderful place to stay!

Located in the country but close to the City and lakes. A favorite ice cream stand is only 2 miles down the road. Please take note, WE are in the country. Just 10 minutes out side of the City of Lewiston. Ty. I get that sometimes we are a bit difficult to find. This first floor two bedroom apt has all of the amenities of a fully stocked kitchen. A large deck has a spectacular view of the Kennebec River and boat landing. Use the kayak trailer to walk the free kayaks down to the boat landing. The Kennebec River is like paddling on a long lake. Or use the free bicycles to cycle down the Kennebec River Rail Trail. At the end of the day relax in the hot tub or sauna. Or you can use the full gym which has weights and several aerobic machines
The apt is decorated with LL Bean furniture and has a wood stove.
The apt is located in a residential area just two blocks from downtown Hallowell.
  • Our stay in Hallowell was wonderful! It was our first time there, and we stumbled upon Andrea’s place when planning a last-minute getaway. Our favorite part was the wood stove! We asked for direction on how to use it, and they were right over to have us. We would stay again!

  • Andrea’s place is a true gem! Cozy, romantic, clean and very good and quick communication with host. We booked for just one night, but after basically setting one foot over the threshold we immediately booked another night! This house provides a home away from home. Comes with a parking space as well. We really, really loved it!

    Lisa2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea's property is really lovely. The decor is cosy with great style. The view of the river from the back deck is a treat. Andrea accommodated us at short notice and the kitchen was well stocked with useful ameneties. Hallowell is a charming little town and I particularly recommend Scrummy Afters sweet shop and Granite City Park along the riverbank.

  • Charming home, cozy room with wonderful heater. Very close to coastal hotspots and easy access to I 95 . Sylvia is arguably the most charming host and makes a breakfast that is worthy of visiting for its own sake. Strongly recommend.

    Paul2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a remarkable airbnb-- outstanding for its service, especially for the economical price. It is a small room in a small house, so you need to be comfortable with the comings and goings of the small family and the two big friendly dogs...or if you wish to spend a lot of alone time in your cozy room with heater, Sylvia will respect that as well. The really outstanding part of it is your hostess sylvia, who is more sensitive and attentive to the needs of her guests than practically any airbnb hostess I've seen. She is a native French canadian, speaks fluent french and italian and english,

    Larry2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sylvia's place is tucked in among the trees in the countryside just north of Augusta. Thank you Sylvia for being a very welcoming host.

  • Sylvia is a very nice host. We had some funny talks and shared our travelling experiences. The room is spacious and homey. The heater is pretty strong and hot. The only thing is the address that means you need to focus on the road and carefully see the intersection. Very easy to drive over the place. Anyway, five stars. Highly recommend!

  • Very cozy cabin! Thankful we got use to this place for ice fishing this weekend. Dan was super responsive and left us breakfast for the morning. Would use again for sure. Will consider using again in the future for sure!

    Meghan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This home was quaint, private, comfortable, and perfect for a small family. Dan made us feel welcome by decorating with a bouquet of flowers and bagels and cream cheese in the fridge. He was readily available when needed, and very personable. We couldn’t have chosen a better host and home to live in temporarily. With Dan lending us his home, it allowed us to find our forever home, and buy us time. I couldn’t thank him enough for allowing us to stay there, and offering a safe and comfortable home. While we did not get to go ice fishing, we did get to view the lake turn to a deep freeze, and see families pile on the lake to fish. The sounds the lake makes as it turns to ice is amazing. Something I’ve never heard before: The experience is something to remember. Thanks again for everything!

  • A group of four of us stayed here for the weekend and it was the perfect space for two nights away. Such a pretty view out the master bedroom and the house has to coolest decorations. Dan left us some bagels and cream cheese for breakfast.. such a thoughtful touch! Definitely would recommend this place for a weekend away and we’d absolutely stay here again if we’re back in the area.

  • Cute getaway with great views overlooking the lake. Close to Lewiston and Auburn and not too far from Freeport. Great lake with plenty of room to explore.

  • Dan's house is cozy, clean and personal. Right by the lake, and complete with a fire pit this was the ultimate Maine gettaway. I truly feel like I found a gem in this space.

  • We loved this place. It’s in a cute little town and the spot on the water is unbelievable! We hope to come back over the summer and see the lake when it’s not frozen! Melanie was very responsive and gave us all the necessities we needed. Perfect for a little get away with a small group of friends.

  • Great place, very clean. Everything was provided for us to use. (Ex: shampoo, towels, pots, pans, sheets, washer and dryer. It was an amazing view of the lake. Such a great thing to wake up too. I loved waking up to all of the people on the lake ice fishing. I would highly reccomend this place to anyone. Melanie was amazing and responded quickly.

  • Wow !!! This was a fantastic family weekend getaway spot ! When we arrived it was incredibly easy to check in and the house was even better than expected. There was extra little touches that made my family feel right at home. The kitchen had plenty of extra amenities , for example a coffee pot & coffee was so extremely nice to have when we woke up the next morning! The pictures do not do justice to this wonderful lake front home! The views are spectacular and you can’t get much closer to the water than this !!! The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of blankets & pillows. There was ample information left for us about local restaurants and area places to visit. I was very impressed with my entire stay and would highly recommend staying at the property to anyone. My family will definitely be returning to stay again in the future!

  • Melanie & Joe were great! The house is absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the great communication and now thoughtful they were during our stay. Simple things like having a few drinks in the fridge when you get there or having a lot of helpful information on the table makes your stay more enjoyable.

    Gina2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy place to stay, with a beautiful view. The lighting is absolutely wonderful. If you’re looking for a comfortable place to stay in Maine I highly suggest this one as the host is also amazing.

    Elmer2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Melanie’s place so much that we came back for a second stay! The location is perfectly situated between coastal and mountainous Maine. Nothing beats waking up in the morning to the view of Sabbatus lake. As always, the place was sparkling clean and had all amenities that we needed. Melanie is a kind an attentive host. Her place feels like a cozy home away from home. We can’t wait to come back in the future!

  • We can’t say enough great things about Wendy’s place- from the beautiful views of the lake to the quiet and peaceful surroundings, you won’t be sorry if you decide to stay here! We have never been so relaxed and enjoyed our escape from the city sitting on the deck with our morning coffee, dipping our feet in the lake and grilling dinner and eating outside on the patio. The fresh baked scones on the first morning there were an added bonus- Wendy is very responsive to all of your needs and her home is sparkling clean. Hope to stay again next summer!

    Lisa2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a relaxing, quiet place to spend the week with our toddler, and that is exactly what we got. We loved the private beach, kayaks, grill, porch, deck, and the quick walk to a playground and local brewery. Winthrop isn’t a really touristy place, but that’s what we liked!

    Melissa2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy was an incredible host, her home offers great waterfront views and fun! Wendy made us feel at home and provided us with delicious strawberry scones in the morning! We would definitely stay here again!

    Patrick2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's home is absolutely beautiful! It has a lovely, bright, cheerful vibe with not only direct access to a pristine lake, but views from every window. We love how the space is decorated, from the sunny yellow four poster bed to the breakfast nook to the airy, bright furnished sun room. And, the delicious, hot, homemade blueberry lemon scones were such a welcome treat. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

    Dana2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's place is gorgeous and she is a great host. Stop looking and book this, you will be glad!

    Brad2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's house is magnificent. It is right on the beach of a beautiful lake; within steps of the front door of the apartment. It is only a few minutes from the charming town of Winthrop. Wendy has furnished this beautiful apartment with great care and taste, even to the Ralph Lauren pillows. It is quiet and restful, yet has all of the accutrements one would expect being on the lake. Book this fabulous home early, as I am sure it goes very rapidly each season. Oh, yes, and the blueberry scones she leaves at your door the first morning are without equal ANYWHERE in the world!

  • My wife, our two-year-old son and I stayed at the inn for a quick overnight on our way up north. It's a wonderful traditional bed & breakfast with excellent hospitality. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the setting and the hot tub and sauna; and I'm sure our son would have loved to see the farm animals.

  • We had a wonderful stay at this B&B. You can expect comfortable rooms and bedding, a beautiful location, numerous amenities such as coffee and tea service round the clock, baked goodies, sauna and hot tub, and extremely gracious hosts. The farm is close enough to town to enjoy dinner out and several places have live music. We also hiked around nearby Jamie’s pond which was beautiful.

    Susan2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a fun place to visit for a getaway for my husband and I! We loved the local area, and especially the quiet of the AirBnB location! Nothing but the sound of the birds and wind! There were so many special touches all over the place, you could tell they had spent lots of time considering everything to make your stay as wonderful as possible! We LOVED the sauna and hot tub! But my favorite part of staying here was that it was a very scent-neutral space...everything, from linens to the air) smelled fresh and clean but without perfumes or artificial scents!!

    Mary2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This Inn is the perfect place to stay to disconnect from the fast paced life in the city. Scott is the most hospitable guy ever and the breakfast is just amazing.

  • Highly recommend for anyone who loves the outdoors and just wants to unhook and get away

    Zach2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest little cabin tucked away in the woods! So cozy and clean! Very private, but when you need anything they are minutes away! Bring backpacks for easy moving up the trail and into the woods! :)

  • Lon's place is truly amazing. I can't recommend this tiny house enough. If you want to have an amazing night, stay here and you won't regret it.

    Shane2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! We had so much fun chilling near fire and walking around the trail. The tiny house so cozy and nice. The place already has few boardgames to play and some books to read. It’s an awesome place to get away from the city and relax. Thank you so much for delightful experience.

    Calvin2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing tiny home to experience a few nights in. Lon and his team are great hosts who communicate fast. The drive into the area was magical as the first snow had just fallen- out of a novel. The walk up to the home is not bad at all, feels like a tiny adventure hike. Really enjoyed the small touches such as board games and an “emergency” draw in case you forgot toothpaste, face wipes, etc. Very sweet space and glad it is also dog friendly! Our German Shepherd enjoined searching around the surrounding woods. Thank you!

    Maria2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible experience! We loved every moment at Lon’s tiny house. We were looking to get away from the city and slow down for the weekend. This was the perfect place! We played board games, walked the woods (along the clearly marked Loop Trail on the property), took out the paddle boat, and worked on a puzzle. We brought our own meals so we could stay in and relax. The cook stove works great. And spices, pots, pans, and utensils were all ready for us to use. Washing dishes was like camping, if you’re used to that, it’s no biggie at all. November nights are getting colder, but the propane heater worked great! The heat definitely rises to the sleeping loft. It was so warm we ended up turning the heater off/low at night. The mattress is comfortable! We brought our own sheets, pillows, and an extra comforter so we felt right at home (though pillows and a comforter were provided). The outhouse is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen (hahaha, but really!) and not a big deal. It’s a composting toilet with very clear directions. It is super clean and a short walk from the tiny house. A bit cold at night, but part of the charm! Every little detail was perfect in the tiny house. Beautiful esthetically and also thoughtfully practical. All drawers were clearly labeled and thoughtfully stocked. We even built a small campfire and made s’mores. Such a highlight for us!!

  • Beautiful little apartment-ette. Super clean, beautifully decorated. The living room area is noisier and colder as it's above the garage but the bedroom is huge and warmer. The beds and couch are very comfortable. Andrea met me and my mom at the door and was super helpful. I would absolutely stay here again.

  • What a wonderful place to stay in Hallowell. So much history in this little town, and the Widow Avery House has its own special place in that story. This home is within a block of the main street of Hallowell..where there are wonderful restaurants, bars, and live music. Enjoyed walking around town and reading all the historical plagues on the various homes, businesses, and places of worship. There were so many little amenities that made our stay perfect. Beds were super comfortable, along with a nice little private living area and bathoom. Keurig coffee maker, fluffy towels. soft bedding, big screen tv, desk w/computer, small fridge, toaster oven, microwave, bottle opener, corkscrew ... everything we needed all within easy reach. Plus, the entire space was very clean. Andrea was very accommodating and pleasant (even when we forgot our key one night and had to wake her up to let us in). The Widow Avery House is definitely a gem in the little town of Hallowell. Excellent value. We loved it!

Pleasant camp atmosphere with scenic views of the 13 mile lake and wildlfe of loons, ducks, ospreys and eagles!
  • Laura’s boyfriend Alex writing this. I wanted to go to Cobbosseecontee Lake with my kayak and have the best bass fishing experience of my life. I did just that thanks to Moe and Pat. The cabin had everything I could possibly need and was 100 ft from the shore with its own dock. Moe and Pat have a canoe and several kayaks you can use if you don’t have your own. I went out on the water every day in my kayak and in addition to catching enormous bass, I was frequently near loons, ospreys, egrets and even bald eagles! This is a gorgeous lake with some amazing fishing and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay or better hosts! I can’t thank Moe and Pat enough— this place is highly recommended!

    Laura2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had an incredibly relaxing week. The lake is beautiful and quiet. Mo and Pat were incredibly warm hosts. We arrived late at night and they brought us home made Tacos for dinner :-) And invited us on a sunset boat ride. The house was perfect - clean and not missing one item of need -- from coffee maker to mixer (not that we baked :-). We will be back! Great location; great hosts; great lake; great house. Thanks!

  • It's hard to convey what a wonderful time we had at Sunset Camp. It is truly a special place -- spectacularly beautiful and peaceful. The accommodations are rustic -- a real Maine vacation experience for us -- but well-appointed and very comfortable. We loved swimming and boating (and attempting to fish!) in the lake, as well as exploring the surrounding area. But what really made our trip memorable were the owners. They really extended themselves for us and went out of their way to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and had everything we needed. They are the kind of people you don't run across too often in life -- but the world would be a better place if you did. I hope we can return again someday. Thanks for an unforgettable vacation!!

    Mary2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Sunset Camp. As my 11 year old daughter said, "This is a REAL camp experience!" It is rustic, has some adorable quirks, and is situated with a beautiful view of the lake, a small beach front, and dock. We loved listening to the loons at night as we sat around the bonfire. Our family had so much fun swimming (great entry for kids and toddlers) and we docked our boat which allowed for tubing and evening boat rides. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked with everything we needed, which was wonderful for our family meals. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't your spot. But if you're looking for a rustic Maine experience with personal connection to the owners who were so helpful and welcoming, this is a great spot!

There is a lot to do in Hallowell. We have a live theater, live music, many different restaurants and shops. Vaughn Woods is nearby with walking trails. The Kennebec River Rail Trail goes through Hallowell. The Kennebec River is a great place to kayak and see bald eagles soaring and sturgeon jumping.
  • Great place located near everything, very spacious and very clean, would highly recommend.

  • The room truly provides exceptional value. The stay was very comfortable and we particularly enjoyed the many amenities and thoughtful details. Andrea's place is equipped with everything you could possibly want and more! She really goes above and beyond for her guests. We had the pleasure of running into her during our stay and she was incredibly sweet. We made sure to let her know we'll be staying with her again whenever we're in town.

  • This was my first stay in Maine and it exceeded my expectations! The rooms are very cute and cozy. Across the street is a beautiful historic church and it's also walking distance to the downtown district and the Kennebec River. Great food options in downtown Hallowell and the little tavern stays open pretty late so you have have a drink and listen to the band at night. Perfect place for a solo traveler!

    Samantha2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • A very stylish and well equipped location close to a charming Main Street. Good news - the church clock opposite does not bong through the night!

  • Perfect stop to stay overnight between Maryland and Prince Edward Island. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer to enjoy everything offered. The house was more than clean and very quaint yet modern with a large and inviting kitchen. Shared bathroom worked out well and we had lots of privacy but other guests were kind when we encountered them. Host was helpful too about local spots. A great spot off of the highway!

    Christie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent room and amenities for a price and location that can’t be beat! Andrea was incredibly nice, helpful, responded quickly, and provided everything we needed for our stay in Hallowell. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again

Waterfront living at its best!!!! Cozy Maranacook Cottage is a little “ slice of heaven “ Listen to the Loons while relaxing in the hammock, kayak the day away or test your balance on a paddle board, all included. The evenings can be spent in the Adirondack chairs watching the sunset, or roasting marshmallows around the fire. Please note, property is not handicap accessible.
Located on one of the cleanest lakes in Maine. We are two miles from town which has a wonderful library, a Subway, Winthrop House of Pizza, a Rite Aid, Hannaford, and a Dunkin Donuts. Main Street Mercantile is a unique shop with something for everyone. Coastal towns of Camden and Boothbay are only an hour away and we are close to Mount Pisgah’s hiking trails and a variety of antique shops.
We have had the pleasure of living on Maranacook for 18 years in a wonderful family friendly neighborhood.
  • Cindy's space was lovely, she is an amazing host, and the access to the beautiful lake made the stay more than we could expect. The only warning I would give is: if you are much over 6'2ish the ceilings might be a bit cramped. But, Cindy welcomed us and provided food, drinks, and even a bottle of wine. She offered thoughtful suggestions for the area, and was quickly available for all communications. She also built a fire and allowed us use of her firepit and provided a s'mores kit. All of her kindness and her beautiful space made for a truly wonderful weekend. If you're looking in the area, book her now. Simply amazing - 6 stars.

  • This was a lovely vacation rental. We had a view of the lake which was incredibly quiet and peaceful. It was so beautiful. When we come back we will definitely stay here again. Hopefully in the Fall season. Cindy’s thoughtfulness in providing everything we could possibly need from coffee/tea to great snacks was really appreciated. The space was great. There was a couch, small table and chairs for eating or writing, a kitchen space was more than adequate for our needs, all bathroom amenities were provided. This was one of the nicest rentals we stayed in during our visit. Wish we could have stayed longer.

  • Cindy should be rated as a Super Duper host! She thought of everything that we could possibly need. I had some questions about the area prior to our trip and she went out of her way to get them answered for me. The place is immaculate and the location is lovely!

    Beth2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough about how great Cindy's place is. We arrived to find a sparkling clean space, stocked with anything and everything you could think of.. even a smores kit! We spent the weekend on the deck admiring the view and amazing sunsets, swimming in the lake, listening to the loons and sitting by the fire. Cindy and her Husband went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. I hope to be back one day.

  • Very clean, Cindy thought of all the little touches. Got special food also. There to meet us. Beautiful view. Thanks from Constance

  • The cottage is situated right on Lake Maranacook and was filled with beautiful, homey touches. The hosts were so helpful and we had an amazing 3 days! I would recommend it to anyone!!

  • Cindy's place was outstanding in cleanliness, and her warm hospitality was a special treat. She provided snacks over and beyond what many others provide. The mattress was comfortable; the living room a special place for watching tv, and the outside patio overlooking the beautiful lake was more than we expected. David and Paula Tarbet Connecticut

  • Alex's camp is a terrific family stay for the budget minded traveler! Spectacular views of Lake Annabessacook, especially during the Fall foliage change during our stay. Just a short drive of Rt. 202 and only 5 minutes form the center of downtown Winthrop. Alex has thoughtfully provided a great selection of family games and movies for cozy evenings that we truly enjoyed. Simple, clean and inviting with a recently renovated kitchen and living space. We had all we needed to prepare a family dinner of lobsters and burgers and enjoyed them on the picnic table off the deck. A lake side fire pit and chairs made for two great evenings of sitting by the lake and making s'mores! We were only there for 3 nights but made great family memories and we would definitely come back and recommend to other guests. Thank you, Alex!

  • I booked this for a friend of mine coming to Maine to visit. She loved it. She had friends over, and thoroughly enjoyed the space. It is perfectly placed on the lake. We had two choices - put her up in a hotel in Lewiston or this.... which was actually cheaper than the crappy one room hotel. Gracias!! Mille Mercis!
