“Nell and Pat's picturesque cottage on the water was a great vacation home for 4 adults and a baby. Nell & Pat are very thoughtful providing nice touches from fresh eggs and board games to baiting crab pots etc. They were the best hosts! We enjoyed hanging out as a family sometimes on the patio and sometimes in the living room when it was hot out and we wanted AC. Great ceiling fan on the patio and great AC inside. We spent every evening on the porch playing games. You have a view of the water from there and sweet breezes blowing on three sides. The porch is much bigger than it appears in the photo they show. Pictures just can't do this lovely place justice. They have an eye and knack for making every corner of this place attractive both inside and outside in the garden and on the dock. The bathroom is modern and well appointed. There were 3 crab pots ready to go on the dock and a cooler full of bait. They gave us all the equipment we needed to cook and pick the crabs. It's a lot of work but the fresh crab cakes were well worth the effort. The kitchen is small but open to the living room so everyone had easy access at the same time. There's an interesting St Mary's City Historical Center close by on the same road with a walking tour and replica of a 17th century ship that brought settlers here from England. My favorite part of the vacation though was the long dock on their whose entrance is surrounded by tall green grasses that rise up on either side as you first step onto the dock. There's a canoe, kayaks and safety gear ready & waiting for renters to take out on the water. The chickens were very entertaining with the new ones trying to escape lol. Pat can fill you in on the history of the place if you're interested but they also leave you alone giving you the run of the place if you don't initiate a conversation. When we had questions about where to take the garbage or check-out they responded quickly. We'll definitely be back!”

“This is my first experience staying in an AirBnB with a host on premises. I only came upon Tom's place because I forget to tick "entire place to yourself" from the filters. I was immediately hooked by the pics and the reviews, and in a wild moment, my husband and I decided to dispense with all our travel familiarities and book with Tom. Zero regrets. The pictures don't do Tom's place justice. We fished and caught crabs from the dock, rode our bikes around his expansive grounds, played tether ball, relaxed in the hammocks, s'mores around the firepit. We kayaked on the creek and floated in tubes and my kids hot tubbed. Tom's kitchen was stocked with everything you might need. There are HUGE teevees, loaded with streaming and gaming platforms, but we were too busy outside. Tom, thank you letting us crowd your fridge and your home. You gave us back two fold, straight from your heart. I enjoyed every moment on the porch, all our convos, and sharing this space was terrific. You are the real deal. Love & mad respect, The Marshall & Sam Sam the Dawg.”
