Marvellous mountain views for miles down the Cumberland Valley. The cottage is nestled in unspoiled Msasa woodland in the Juliasdale area of Nyanga, Zimbabwe . There are walks down to river pools where you can swim. It is 40 kms to Nyanga town. You need to be self sufficient in food - this is self catering. It's a good idea to take toilet paper in case the emergency supply has expired!
“This little home with its magnificent view and homy feeling will make you very happy if you are looking for quiet time by the fire in a chalet-like place where you cook for yourselves. We felt at home and enjoyed a lot our stay there. Mind that the dirt road to access the road might be quiet tough for city cars, we were definitely happy to drive a big-wheeled 4x4. We recommend this place!”
Fully equipped off the grid (no Zesa) stone cottage located in a private game reserve overlooking the Nyanga National Park and views for 30 km towards Mt Nyangani. Gas lights & Generator for lights so bring petrol .Set among dwarf Msasa trees and the indigenous Cedar. Here one can truly relax in the quite and fresh mountain air and enjoy walks, climbing granite domes and red wine in front of the fireplace. 10 km to Montclair Casino and 20 km from the National park. Caretaker and maid on site.
“The place is magical - if you understand what to expect! It is secluded, far from any unnatural noise, with amazing views of the Nyangya area. If you follow the instructions and turn onto cedar peak road, you'll find it relatively easily - even in the dark of night with heavy rains (bear in mind that dirt roads in the rain need a high clearance vehicle - choose accordingly). The place itself is great. It's quiet, the staff is extremely nice, and it has basically everything that should be expected from a place that's totally off the grid - and then some. with enough hot water, clean drinking water and electricity, there's nothing to complain about. I'd heartly recommend this place to anyone with the suitable vehicle (or during the dry period, any vehicle) who looks for an out of the ordinary experience. I would definitely want to return to Richard's place, and it's a shame I had to move on and didn't have time to stay another night.”
Lenn's Place is suitable for families (with children), backpackers and overland travelers on a budget. Easy accsessable from the main tar road, only 900 meters on a good gravel road No need of 4X4. A bus stop is only 200 meters away so you can arrive, and depart, by local bus.
“Lennarts place consist of a two room cabin, each with a double bed and two bunks, separated by a wooden screen. Between the rooms is a nice big comfortable bathroom with a flush toilet and a great bath . The lounge/ kitchen areas i in a separate cosy rondavel. This allows some people to sleep in quiet while other may be up early or to bed late. It is not a luxuriously outfitted place but no comfort is missing. The crockery is of a high quality making a good impression and it is nice to use.The mattresses on the bunks are a bit thin, but for children it should not present a problem. Taking additional light with you will not do any harm , the led lights are not as intense as one might need for long reading etc. Lennart communicated quickly and in perfect detail , so the place was easy to find. Cornelius, the site supervisor was well mannered, super helpful and friendly and efficient. The site has a fantastic view, birdlife and is so quiet. This place is a little paradise and fantastic value for money.”
