Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

this was the 3rd time our family has stayed,again we had a fantastic time! We chose to return due to the great space, a fabulous indoor pool, great kitchen and an amazing view. Great attention to details, comfortable for large families or groups and peaceful for just 2.

We felt like at home. The house is located in a private property with swimming pool and tennis courts. It’s very clean and very peaceful. Just a clarification about the description : there’s no bathroom in the basement. Then if you come with elderly people or very young kids, it could be annoying. If you like cooking, the kitchen is very well equipped. We´ll keep a very good memory of our stay in Ducktrap Retreat during the colorful foliage season.

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

I recently stayed with my family at this incredible Airbnb that exceeded all my expectations. This property offered a hot tub, a pool table, and a level of privacy and tranquility that made for a truly relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to watch the northern lights from the hot tub – it was absolutely magical. We spent a week in Acadia, and the location was perfect, just 15-20 minutes from Bar Harbor or the nearest town. The hosts were very responsive, and the place was fantastic for families, being both kid and pet friendly. It was a week filled with unforgettable moments, and I can't recommend this place enough!

I had the pleasure of staying in Anthony's place for a week in June and everything was perfect. The post and beam structure is beautiful, lofty, and well lit. The pictures really don't do it justice. All the utilities worked well and it had every amenity, including a whirlpool tub, dish washer, and laundry. The dog park was a bonus for our pup! We plan on coming again next year and recommend it anyone looking for a private comfortable space for two.

We really enjoyed our stay at Matthew’s place!! The view was incredible!! It was very peaceful and quiet. The upstairs did get a little warm but using the box fans and opening the windows in the evening helped. We loved the first floor living area, it was so comfortable, and did I mention the views?!!!

Great place for a family to stay. Very pretty house and outdoor landscaping. Peaceful spot with lots of privacy. The house felt very homey and had plenty of space for all of us (wife and 3 kids). The upstairs master bedroom was so relaxing. Definitely would stay here again. Destioney is a great host. Very responsive and friendly.

Martha went above and beyond to make us comfortable. There were plenty of extra towels and linens, toiletries for us to use, there were two box fans in one of the closets, and even umbrellas! The house was clean, the area was quiet - our weekend stay was great. Thank you, Martha!

First of all the Wonky Donkey is a hilarious name The host was extremely helpful right away by giving good detail on how to find the place, allowing early checkin (saved us as we were able to nap after redeyes, before my brother's graduation), and giving clear info on how to enter We loved seeing the animals outside, and my family absolutely loved how spacious and clean the inside of the home was. The heaters came in clutch for this cold weather we're not used to, and we appreciated getting to use the kitchen and relax in the big living room area Finally, not having to follow a list of demands by the host is awesome in this day and age of Airbnb. We got to leave without worrying about how to do the laundry, where to throw trash away, washing dishes, etc We highly recommend this place if you need to stay in the area!

Kristine’s cabin was perfect for my parents’ visit. It was very clean and a beautifully, well-maintained house. They felt very comfortable there. It was helpful to be able to adjust the temperature because my parents get cold. It was nice that there were same games and puzzles available. The view on the lake was beautiful. The bathroom was clean and spacious! Kristine is very responsive to messages.

We had an amazing time. Perfect place to unwind and be in nature. The house was clean and very spacious. So thankful we had the opportunity to experience the house and the beautiful property. Would definitely like to stay again :) Thank you Brian for sharing your beautiful home!

As mentioned before this home was enchanting. My only regret was I didn't reserve for longer. Every room had a view of the sea. We took advantage of that and spent a few evenings sitting at the picnic table dining and BBQing. The most relaxing time we have all had in a very long time. Many thanks Caitlin. We look forward to the next.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The hosts couldn’t have been any nicer. We loved the space was perfect for our needs. It was close to all that we needed but nice and quiet. The extra touches in the house like fresh flowers were lovely. Highly recommend this place.

Tina was a great host, and very accommodating. She was quick to answer any questions I had. The AirBnB was really nice and cozy.

House is beautiful and updated. Right next to town but off the main street so quiet. Plenty of room for family of 4. Nice actually to have no tv. Great kitchen for cooking and a big table to have a dinner party. Nice deck and only complaint would be that there was no grill, but we knew that going in. Good base for driving to Acadia or state parks for hikes. Also, Belfast is a lovely town to walk around. While there were a few issues with the house during the stay, none that were anyone's fault, the host was always responsive. That's a huge plus. Rarely are there issues, but some hosts are far less willing to take action or even acknowledge when something goes wrong. I would definitely recommend this place, and the hosts, and if we are ever in that part of the world, would definitely stay again.

Beautiful place to stay at! Right next to a grocery store and there are some kayaks/canoes to use in the lake. Definitely worth what we paid! Would gladly stay there again.

Beauty by the sea! Thia rental in Stockton Springs turned out to be a gem. We spent most of our time out on the confortable deck enjoying the view. There is a private little rock beach out front that can be walk along when the tide is low. We loved the house, it had everything we needed for a mother-daughter crew of 4. The rental was in close proximity to several state parks which we explored when it wasn't raining. Will stay again.

Simply magical! Cozy and fun space. We enjoyed watching eagles and ospreys fish, seals pop their heads up, and even an adorable family of foxes from the comfort of the living room! Kitchen had all necessities for cooking most meals at home. A nice trail for walking down the road and an awesome beach where the kids threw stones and searched for seaglass each afternoon. We were all sad to leave!

We enjoyed our stay so much! What a great home. Plenty of space for the three of us on our girls getaway. Great amenities, beds, and shower. We loved the deck. Plus loads of other thoughtful touches. It was terrific to have the washer and dryer. Perfect spot for touring the coast from Boothbay to Acadia. Not to mention the beautiful spots to visit right nearby! Killeen gave us lots of different recommendations that were all out of this world. I hope to be fortunate to stay here again. Thank you!
