Welcome to our barn conversion which we hope will provide you with the perfect escape, a base for your countryside adventures or a bed after exploring nearby towns and cities. Located on a working dairy farm the barn was converted in 2019 into 2 separate apartments each accommodating max 4 people. At the moment only the ground floor apartment is available to guests. Perfectly located with easy access from the M1 motorway, an hours drive from Dublin and Belfast and only 8 min by car to Dundalk.

It is a perfect place to stay when exploring tourist attractions in the Midlands or going to a wedding in one of Cavans hotels or just for a quiet break The self contained apartment is fully stocked with all kitchen essentials needed for a self-catering break. 'Candlefort Lodge' is a 95 sq m./(1022sq ft.) sized apartment at the lower ground level of our home. It is self-contained, bright, and private. An Lochta is a converted , two story, 19th century grain store, surrounded by a mature and carefully tended garden on a small farm, set in the idyllic rustic peace and quiet of rural Co Meath. Despite our seclusion, we are just 10 minutes from the M1 motorway, 1 hour from Dublin and within easy reach of the major historical sites of Meath, Louth, Cavan and Monaghan. (Unfortunately the layout of the building renders it unsuitable for wheelchair users).

The Leck Loft

Our loft is 4 miles from Monaghan town, population 10,000approx. It is located roughly an hour and a half from Dublin and Belfast. Local amenities include 18 hole golf course and driving range, Rossmore Forest park (1.5miles), cinema, leisure centre, a number of pubs and restaurants (4 miles), Glaslough Castle and Equestrian centre (7 miles). There are numerous local lakes for fishing and the Bragan region offers various walking trails.
