House holiday rentals in Shawnigan Lake

This was one of the most beautiful and comfortable places we’ve stayed via Airbnb. The home is beautifully provisioned and the yard is fantastic. We loved sitting out back listening to the bubbling water and birds singing. The hosts were friendly and thoughtful. We would definitely choose again and highly recommend.

What a great spot! Nestled in the woods in a peaceful and quiet setting this place is truly one-of-a-kind. The house is very unique with lots of character that sets it apart from the usual stays. It was clean and had all we needed. Our host Gramma Rikki was exceptionally warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, and we could not take advantage of all the outdoor spaces and amenities. We played pool, sat by the cozy fire and did some island exploring by car. All in all it was a very enjoyable and relaxing getaway despite the crummy weather. We hope to return one day and experience everything this wonderful place has to offer.

We really loved the quietness and peacefulness of the place. The layout of the house was awesome. The entertainment was top notch. We even used the gym . I would definitely recommend this place if you are with a group of friends or family gathering!

Arbutus House is set in a pristine and beautiful location on Pender Island, overlooking the water with expansive and well maintained private gardens. The house is full of character and is clean and filled with natural light. Our host, Budd, was extremely responsive and helpful and took care of all of our needs. We would definitely return to this location and recommend it to our friends.

Matt and Lina’s place was truly an oasis. The seven of us were so comfortable and enjoyed the pool/ hot tub and sauna time. Matt and Lina were fantastic to communicate with. We would highly recommend staying here if you love the peacefulness and privacy of the forest with ALL the amenities.

We were 2 couples visiting the province for a family gathering. This place was absolutely perfect for us! Spacious, clean and beautifully decorated homes. The gardens are gorgeous and we grew attached to all the lovely animals outside the front door! The rural setting was close to all the urban places we visited....and we enjoyed getting to know the surrounding area. Krista was responsive and helpful....and gave us lots of great tips! This is the best airbnb experience we have ever had!

Peaceful and lovely house, the views from the balcony were beautiful. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Nanaimo.

Bowen's place was very beautiful, though slightly dated. We highly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The kitchen had basic amenities including coffee, coffee supplies, wine glasses, etc, so we were happy. Bowen was very responsive when we needed anything, and we appreciated his quick communication. There's a shopping center within walking distance, and lots of beautiful trails near the house that were fun to explore. The bedrooms were a bit bright for our liking, and the mattresses a tad hard for our stiff backs but overall it was wonderful and we would stay there again.

I had a fantastic stay at Jennifer's place, I enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the unit, the decor was lovely and the beds and linens were so soft. I had a great sleep. There is a playground a 2mim drive from the house and my kids loved it! It was great to know my kids could be entertained. Jennifer was very friendly and had prompt response times to questions.

Seascape is Awesome! The accommodations were clean and spacious with comfortable beds and living areas. The views were amazing and the outdoor areas packed with things to do and see. The hosts responded quickly and was very friendly and helpful. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this excellent space.

We loved staying here. The house is great. The front porch, the side deck with grill and sun chairs and outdoor dining is great. The dock on the water is fabulous. Any specific questions or issues were addressed immediately. Its a really lovely spot. You can't do better on Shawnigan Lake!

We had a wonderful stay at Donovan's cabin. It was perfect for our family get-together (8 adults and 2 small children). The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, we loved the close proximity to hiking and other nature nearby (ie. East Sooke Regional Park). Donovan was super communicative and responsive to any questions. Thank you!

Cara’s place was like a home away from home. The mountain & sunset views through the massive windows were stunning!! The location was quiet & private but was also walkable to the bay, where the restaurants & cute shops were. Parking was right on the property in front of her cute garden. The place was stocked with all the basic home supplies & the bed was comfy. I will definitely come back when I’m visiting the area again!

The place was beautiful, both inside and outside of the property. We had a beautiful garden view, and a small patio to enjoy our Breaky in the morning! The place itself was very large, with a beautiful, modern kitchen. The bedrooms were nice, with one looking out/ opening up to the garden. The host left a nice booklet of all the best places to shop and eat — which was actually very helpful!! The parking was very good, and we even had “spare parking” If we needed it. Overall, very good stay, and we will be booking it again.

When we arrived Lois greeted us with a warm welcome! We felt comfortable right away. The house is beautiful and comes with everything you need to feel right at home. The property also has a gorgeous view of the mountains. We really enjoyed our stay. It was perfect.

Our family of four had a wonderful time staying at Jessica’s place for the week. It was an excellent location, within a 5 minute walk to local restaurants including the Saturday market in Ganges and central to many hiking trails and attractions on the island. The place was well appointed with all the kitchen tools you need to cook a few meals and was also spacious. We would’ve happily return on a future visit to the island.

We had the most amazing time. The location is outstanding and the house itself is absolutely beautiful. We can’t recommend it highly enough and would definitely love to come back. Thanks Madi for making everything work so well and for making our trip so special ❤️

The Lakeshore Getaway at Cowichan Lake provided such a wonderful accommodation for our family over the long weekend. Our big family had a great time in this newly built house. The place was spacious and was located in such peaceful setting. Our family loves cooking and eating so we thoroughly enjoyed their well equipped kitchen and their big dining area. Meanwhile, the younger ones in the family enjoyed the pool table and board games. Heidi, our host, was responsive and made sure we had what we needed. Our family always appreciates when we can find such a big house that accommodates all of us with such an amazing deal. We hope we can come back again!

Truly one of the best Airbnbs we've stay in. The house is better than we could have imagined and lake is even closer than what it looks like in the pictures. My five year old son says his favorite thing(s) about the house is: jumping into the lake, the hot tub, the water play, jumping in the lake, the big couch, the showers, and jumping into the lake... Hoping to come back again!

We really enjoyed our stay! The house was very clean upon arrival and the views were spectacular. The deck on the lake is quite large and provides for ample space to enjoy being out by the lake plus toys for water activities. It was definitely a trip to remember and very pleased with the overall experience!

We’re from the Island and booked this cabin as a quick getaway from the city, and it was exactly what we needed. Hannah was very responsive and friendly, the cabin was clean, fresh, and beautifully maintained, it felt like brand new. It had everything we needed, from a well-equipped kitchen to thoughtful little touches that made it feel cozy and welcoming. The location was ideal, close enough to town for groceries, restaurants and cafes, but still tucked away in a peaceful, private setting with a beautiful ocean view.
