The cottage is less than a mile from Crump 'N Fox Golf; 2 miles from Northfield Mount Hermon; 10 minutes from Greenfield & Stoneleigh Burnham; 15 min to Brattleboro, Deerfield Academy, Bement & Eaglebrook; 20 min to UMass, Amherst & Northampton; 30 minutes to Keene NH & Shelburne Falls and 45 min to the Basketball Hall of fame in Springfield & Mt Snow VT.

Our lovingly designed guest suite is situated 17 miles from the UMass Amherst Campus, 8.2 miles from Northfield Mount Hermon, 2 miles from downtown Turners Falls and 2.6 miles from downtown Greenfield. Just Be Cabin

Small, rustic cabin in the woods behind our home. The cabin has electricity, but no running water. Drinking and cooking water are provided from a hand pumped container. The cabin is a beautiful place to slow down, connect to nature and one's self. If you love to camp, you will love the cabin. It is the perfect locale for a personal retreat. We are happy to arrange a yoga class at our home studio as well. It is like a tree house, where all are welcome to come, simplify life and just be.

Unique People & Pet-Welcoming Haven

Your own gracious living space with very well equipped kitchen, private deck, entrance, garden, country roads for dog walks, forests, meadows, mountain streams, stone walls, tranquility. The cottage is attached to the main house but is a "separate" entity and again has its own private entrance as mentioned above. No smoking in the cottage please but on the deck just fine. We have added a new private deck at the Schoolhouse property, with a hot tub & panoramic barrel sauna. Come to unwind, cook, & enjoy a quintessential Vermont experience on our 350 acre property.

Artsy Pine Cabin in the Woods

Come relax in our private and cozy one room cabin tucked in the woods on the family homestead. A peaceful location for connecting with nature, writing & hiking. It's a 12'x16' cabin, with a comfortable queen size bed, electricity, mini refrigerator and electric kettle. Water is provided. Equipped with a clean outhouse and an outdoor hot shower on side of main house. ( May use indoor shower in main house in cooler months) Excellent spot for star gazing.

Sunny and open writing studio with over 150 years of literary history. Built in 1870, this lovely little house was where George Curtis edited Harper's magazine, wrote essays on transcendentalism , and argued for women's suffrage ( A recent guest informs me that George Curtis helped Thoreau build his cabin on Walden Pond ) The house has since sheltered painters, librarians, and poets.
