The ★cafe-like kitchen space also has a table and bar counter where you can cook on an iron plate Rice cooked in a★ kamado pot makes the best onigiri and coffee boiled in the hot water is the best The Goemon bath warms you to the★ core and is something you'll want to experience at least once The ★most enjoyable thing is eating around the Irori. In a magnificent old house at the end of a Ghibli-like forest road, you can enjoy BBQs, campfires, Goemon baths, and other natural activities that can only be enjoyed in the mountains. There are no street lights, and at night you can see the starry sky. Spending time feeling the mountains with your whole body, which you can see in each season, is an irreplaceable pleasure. It is an old-fashioned house with a magnificent main pillar, earthen walls, and built-in storage, but the first floor is completely covered with cedar boards, giving it a new feel. The water area features a newly built island kitchen and a large wash basin. The bath is a Goemon bath that uses both wood and gas, so you can cook with wood or use hot water. Outside the house, there is a friendly sign cat named Aosuke, who will come up to you if you are outside. It is located about 15 minutes by car from the Ishikari Mountain ropeway, making it easy to get to the mountains.

Ricefields, Rivers and Mountains

This house is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern making it convenient but also authentically Japanese. Mountains and ricefields are beside you, the Shimanto River can be heard. The ground floor is all yours. It's spacious with a large tatami sleeping room that can become two. The A/C is only in one room if the doors are closed. There is no central heating. Restaurants are within 10min or you can prepare local foods in your own equipped kitchen. It’s designed for long and short stays.

Embrace the “slow life.” The space is a renovated private bungalow next to our main house. Surrounded by trees and quiet, it's an oasis to unwind, unplug, have lazy breakfasts and nap in the hammock. For more active travelers, it's a good base to explore the area. We are 9 km from Shimanto City restaurants and shopping and an easy drive to activities on Shimanto River or the beach. We do require a 2-night minimum but highly encourage you to slow down and stay longer.

It's possible to look a wonderful sea of cloud to be lucky in the morning.
