Please check the◎ facility details before making a reservation◎ About Kikori House In September 2023, a lumber company, Ogura, in the mountains of Minamiaizu-machi, Fukushima Prefecture, turned a house they created with a thorough commitment to wood into a rental house. Ogura is the descendant of a woodworker who lived with wood. Questioning modern housing that relies on 24-hour air conditioning for comfort, we created a space that feels like a wooden sunbeam, where you can feel the natural wind and sunlight while inside the house. While taking advantage of traditional Japanese carpentry techniques, you can stay comfortably without any inconvenience by incorporating modern facilities. On a dark night when you can see many stars, the sound of birds and the wind, and powdery snow that is so smooth that you can't make snowballs. Feel the magnificent nature of Minamiaizu with all five senses. There are few restaurants nearby that are open late, but the open kitchen is stocked with special cooking utensils, dishes, and basic condiments, so we recommend cooking for yourself.

There are rooms in which furniture will not open and close smoothly as well as many drafts. If you do not want to encounter insects or be in a dusty environment, you may want to avoid staying here. On the other hand, if you love camping, we highly recommend staying here!

You are wellcomed as a member of the family, so we can cook and chat together. If you like, I can help you with sightseeing, kimono dressing and instract creating Japanse Paper art. The Cube in the forest is a uniquely cozy space that gives a floating sensation amidst abundant natural light and lush greenery. It was built in 1993 by a coelacanth, resembling a thrilling spaceship-like structure, and we inherited it from the previous owner. We have opened it as a vacation rental with the desire for our friends to enjoy the relaxed and cool ambiance, which is both impressive and effortlessly stylish.
