Nostalgia

A charming house from the 1800s with a great atmosphere. The property is beautifully located by the lake overlooking Ålesund and Sunnmørsalpene. Only 15 min by car from Ålesund city and the nearest airport, but is still a place that gives peace of mind. Outside the garden there is cultivated land with grazing animals in late summer. The island of Giske itself is a gem with a marble church from the Middle Ages, beaches, untouched nature and bird life. The island was once home to Norway's most powerful noble family, the Arnungs, and is mentioned in the Snorre saga.

The cabin was built in 2023 and is located in the middle of the Sunnmørsalpen mountains, with hiking and biking terrain right outside the door and the fjords a short drive away. There is a disc golf course and ball pit nearby, a gondola with a café on Strandafjellet that is open in the summer, and Geiranger, Trollstigen and Valldal are within an hour's drive. In short: a comfortable base for active summer days, whether you want to climb peaks or just slow down with a view of the mountains. And if you come in the winter, you can go straight out on skis.

Enjoy the wonderful view from this idyllic storehouse located on Valderøya outside Ålesund. The hayloft is over a hundred years old, but it has been renovated. NOTE: The storage room has electricity, but not running water or a toilet. Guests can use shower and toilet in the main house which is 30 m away. The bathroom in the main house is only used by you guests and access to the rest of the main house is closed off. There is 5 gallons of water available in the fridge. Rovdefjorden is a busy fjord for both large and small boats, as well as cruise ships on their way to/from Geiranger.
