Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

this was the 3rd time our family has stayed,again we had a fantastic time! We chose to return due to the great space, a fabulous indoor pool, great kitchen and an amazing view. Great attention to details, comfortable for large families or groups and peaceful for just 2.

We felt like at home. The house is located in a private property with swimming pool and tennis courts. It’s very clean and very peaceful. Just a clarification about the description : there’s no bathroom in the basement. Then if you come with elderly people or very young kids, it could be annoying. If you like cooking, the kitchen is very well equipped. We´ll keep a very good memory of our stay in Ducktrap Retreat during the colorful foliage season.

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

I recently stayed with my family at this incredible Airbnb that exceeded all my expectations. This property offered a hot tub, a pool table, and a level of privacy and tranquility that made for a truly relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to watch the northern lights from the hot tub – it was absolutely magical. We spent a week in Acadia, and the location was perfect, just 15-20 minutes from Bar Harbor or the nearest town. The hosts were very responsive, and the place was fantastic for families, being both kid and pet friendly. It was a week filled with unforgettable moments, and I can't recommend this place enough!

We enjoyed Acadia National Park and all the quaint nooks and crannies in between hikes. The house is superbly organized and comfortable with lots of natural light. Totally recommend!

LOVED this place!! Clean, that’s a dealbreaker, and it was clean! Situated on 8 acres, peaceful, dog-friendly, cozy, just felt like home. Loved the bottle of wine and chocolates, that’s the way to a girls heart, after a clean place ofc. There were tissues in the bathroom, stocked kitchen, w &d, great lighting. There was this quilt and rug in the master bedroom that looked like I was sleeping at grandmas house. We had to drive everywhere, as this was not a walking rental, but totally worth it. Felt like the heart of Acadia. You have to drive to all the trails anyway. Would totally stay here again.

Lynn's place was great for checking out Acadia, Bar Harbor other surrounding harbors. It had everything we needed and having water bottles, camp chairs and blankets was a bonus. Kim P

Bendigo and Jenni were great hosts from the start. They communicated before we arrived and checked in with us regularly throughout our stay to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Their house is beautiful and looks just like the photos. Every room was meticulously clean and so lovely. The location is very private and peaceful. After a day of hiking and sightseeing it felt like coming home each evening. We would definitely book again with Bendigo and Jenni on our future trips to MDI.

Recently my wife and I stayed at Peter's home and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The home was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved the location as we felt it was centrally located which allowed short drive times to explore all areas of MDI. We brought our two dogs and having a fenced yard for them to explore was outstanding. Being able to take them out off leash made for normal peaceful at home routine. Peter was very responsive and friendly. The information packet in the home is well thought out. Access instructions were easy to follow. Thank you Peter for allowing us to stay at your home. We are already discussing our next trip to MDI and look forward to staying at your home in the future.

The house was spacious and clean. Linens were great and seemed new. Robyn had local goodies to share which were wonderful and I bought some as gifts to bring back home. She had things to make s’mores. Pantry was full of spices and things for baking if needed. Had a large selection of books, dvds and games to play. Was a great experience.

We had a wonderful weekend in the backwoods of Maine. The house was perfect for our small family with lots of things to do nearby (about 20-30 minutes away) and the added amenities were great for an outdoorsy weekend (fire pit and grill were huge hits)!

Great location for visiting Acadia national Park. felt like home or staying at Grandma's house. Very comfortable beds. Beautiful backyard and deck to enjoy morning coffee. We watched deer walk through the back woods. everything was comfortable. Pamela was very responsive and friendly. thank you for a wonderful stay!

this place is immaculate... very open floor plan in a spacious and beautiful setting. the trees surround the home making it feel very remote and peaceful. has everything you need for a long term stay. great host as well, very responsive and attentive

John's place is absolutely beautiful and homey! The house has been totally renovated in the winter of 2025 and is very lovely, classy, on-trend in ways that make this seaside cottage feel so refreshed, current and relatable. And that's just the INSIDES! The deck overhanging the rocks to the shore is THE perfect place to hang out: start your day here with a mug of hot coffee. Have lunch and cocktails in the afternoon/evening while viewing the unspoiled, gorgeous bay. Nature and serenity are what this place is ALL about! Enjoy the total peace, privacy and happiness this home provides. It's a true gem!

We really enjoyed our time here with our two dogs. We came in their off season so locally most things were closed but Bar Harbor was a short drive and we were still able to enjoy the park even in the rainy weather. House was spotless and the hot tub was a nice surprise.

What an amazing place! Caroline’s home was perfect for our family vacation. It had everything we needed and more. It’s on the quiet side of the island and an easy drive to all the great attractions. Slice of heaven indeed! I had such a wonderful stay with my pets. It was perfectly located to get to hikes and town, but still enjoy some peace and quiet. Loved the fenced in yard and all the dog friendly touches 🫶🏻 Will absolutely stay again in the future

Spacious and convenient to all parts of Acadia. The location was perfect for accessing Bar Harbor, as well as both coastal and mountain hikes. It's centrally located to many parts of the park while still being peaceful and away from the crowds. The rooms were large, giving us plenty of space to be together as a family without feeling crowded. The host was incredibly responsive. A small but well-stocked grocery store was just a short walk from the house. Everything was clean and in good working order. There was plenty of parking, good water pressure in the showers, and the interior of the house had beautiful solid wood floors and ceilings.
