This is really the perfect stay if you want a break away from the city. The farm was quiet, and private. The hot tub and indoor fireplace was the highlight to add that cosiness to a good winter holiday. The cottage was well equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Madri was also a great host and easy to reach when needed.

The views of the lake was breathtaking, waking up to the peaceful environment was everything, beautiful place to unwind and reset. The hot tub with those views makes a perfect combo, spacious home with everything you need. Really enjoyed our stay.

We had a fantastic stay! The service was excellent, the space was clean, private, and exactly as shown in the photos and description. We loved having our own private hot tub and braai area – such a relaxing touch. The location offered easy access to all amenities, and any questions we had were quickly and helpfully answered. Wow! I cannot say what an amazing stay Braam has crafted in this beautiful old house. Every little thing has been thought of. Braam has gone above and beyond to create a lovely spot in Swellendam. The garden is completely closed off for the dogs. He has birds that come throughout the day. The most amazing linen. Extra things for the cold. The house was clean and very well equipped. We will definitely be back. 3 lovely tools in the main house with 1 bathroom, with an extra back room with a bathroom. WiFi and backup power - essential in any stay in South Africa

Loved the lookout! Cozy with an amazing view. So clean and cute little touches and nice art. Good garden birdwatching too :) Well appointed and quiet neighborhood- We slept so well! I will definitely stay here again when we return!

What a tranquil breakaway - went there to work and sitting outside on the patio in the sun watching the birds was amazing. Walks on the farm in the Karoo was breathtaking. My dogs loved it as well. Bishop was so friendly and helpful. Bought some goodies as the olive shop.

What an amazing little spot. Scenic, Kerry and her husband were amazing, we had the best time there. Even booked an extra night while we were there. Highly recommend!

We can only repeat what other guests have mentioned, that Vicky's place was exactly as we hoped it would be. Quiet, clean and comfortable, it was everything we had hoped for as a base for exploring Cape Town. Communication with Vicky was excellent, she responded quickly to any questions we had. We would love to stay at Vicky's place again in the future.

What a beautifully curated cottage and garden. We absolutely loved our time in Jonita’s cottage. Everything was thoughtfully put together, the bed was super comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and the fire place and electric blankets were so divine on the cold days. The outside fire pit and chairs are so lovely and listening to the birds was just wonderful. Jonita was incredible helpful and communicative. We will definitely be back.

We had the most incredible family stay in this beautiful, secluded wildlife estate. The ocean views were breathtaking, and spotting dolphins through the binoculars the host provided was a daily highlight. Our kids loved the animals and nature walks, and the beach—just a short walk away—was perfect even in winter, with warm weather and thoughtful touches like beach chairs and toys. The home was cozy and luxurious, with soft bedlinen, a deep bath, and big showers—pure bliss after a beach day. We loved the Nespresso machine and enjoying cappuccinos on the deck with visits from a fisant and friendly mouse at sunrise. The layout of the home was perfect for quality family time, and we’d copy it for our own house if we could! Huge thanks to Ruth for being a fantastic, responsive host and to Jamal for his help and great communication. A truly unforgettable experience—we can’t wait to return!

My husband and I stayed here for a week to enjoy a nice and quiet farm stay. It was everything and more. Everything was exactly as explained. It does get quite cold in the mornings and evenings but there are plenty of blankets and Jan even provided us with some hot water bottles to keep warm. Jan is also very responsive and answers any questions you might have during your stay. I would definitely recommend!

Great house - central Graaff Reinet

I have stayed at many listings before and this one has to be one of my favourites. The area is beautiful. The cottage is spotlessly clean. Everything you think you might need is available. The cottage is so beautifull and comfortable. The hosts make you feel super welcome. I can only recommend to stay here!
