Holiday rentals with lake access in Southern Europe

The house was huge and had everything we needed. A nice touch was the rice cooker which is hard to come by. Will definitely visit again if I’m in the area. This is the most value for money house that we rented in Switzerland. Giuseppe was always responsive and this is important especially if guests are already in the house and needed help.

It seems impossible to write something new about Maria and her wonderful place at the Douro River that has not been already commented and praised by previous guests. The 5-star review rating for Casa do Rio is very well earned: it is a piece of heaven, tucked away in the Douro Valley and Maria - and not to forget her husband, Jose (who does not get enough praise in other reviews) - are exceptional hosts. We stayed for 3 weeks, with a number of our friends coming to visit us for shorter stays. Maria accommodate all of our changing check-in and check-out needs without a glitch. We enjoyed taking advantage of the many activities and entertainment options - including massages by Hugo (a master of his craft) that the location provides. One thing to be aware of: There is no shopping option and limited restaurant choices available in walking distance, hence a car is almost a necessity for a longer stay.

The most breathtaking view ! Perfect spot only 10 minute walk to the town of Dervio. Easy to get the Ferry and explore other spots along the lake. 10/10 recommend!

Beautiful accommodation! We really liked how the interior and exterior are furnished. I particularly liked the garden. There are many charming corners to discover, with statues hidden in the greenery and small tables. Ideal location to spend a weekend in the countryside relaxing away from the city.

We needed to enjoy a moment of calm, to rest for a long weekend of three days. The listing at this address seemed ideal, the comments all unanimous... well... it's even better than we could have hoped. The loft is very comfortable, spacious, beautifully decorated, a rare cleanliness... the best thing is the little touches all around you. The exterior is also very neat, swimming pool, jacuzzi accessible at any time and private, there is everything you need to feel good. Well, we could go on for a long time with the superlatives... breakfasts... meals... massages... but the icing on the cake is the hosts Anne-Lise and Frédéric... whose kindness and discretion complete this perfect and timeless moment. A great house in a beautiful location! You can't get any closer to the sea, and the sound of the sea accompanies you day and night. The house is very tastefully decorated and super clean. You make yourself at home straight away! Constantino is very helpful and has great tips. Without him, we would never have found the little beach in Seixal... We were here 14 days and enjoyed every minute. Thank you, Constantino!

Great host and a wonderful apartment in such a fantastic location. being high up also gives you great views, whilst feeling a bit quieter and more peaceful.

We had the most wonderful 3 night stay! Fabio was so helpful and accommodating. The apartment is perfectly located, close to everything yet felt so private…. And the view from the balcony!!!! Would not hesitate recommending to our family and friends.

Very nice penthouse with a lovely view of El Pilar. Gloria was very responsive as well. Our only criticism was that the AC struggled to go lower than around 78-80F, but it was 95-100F when we were there. Would recommend!

I don't remember when we stayed in such a great Airbnb. The space is awesome. The view was fantastic, so you didn't want to leave the house at all. The place was very clean, everything was in very good condition, there was everything we needed. Federico gave us restaurant tips, which were also very helpful. Located in a small nice village with many restaurants and cafes within walking distance. We will be happy to come back!

Stunning views from our balcony and such great hosts, always responsive and allowed us to drop our bags earlier so we could enjoy our short time in Como. The apartment is located on the 5th floor right on the lake so the balcony is the perfect place for a glass of wine or a coffee. We also had a delicious pizza in a local restaurant recommended by our hosts.

Very good spacious studio apartment with fully equipped kitchen and amazing views to Niesen and surrounding mountains. This is a nice area with easy access to hiking routes and close to Thun. I like that the apartment has separate beds. Franz is a great host and I hope to stay there again when visiting Thunersee area.

Christelle is a very kind host, extremely available and caring! The accommodation is incredible, beautiful garden, pool, jacuzzi, summer kitchen, hammock… in short, everything is there! Everything is very well thought out, clean, comfortable... a little corner of paradise! We don't want to leave anymore... In short, I recommend it 200%

I feel very confident this is the most stunning property on the island! It’s magical. We had a few small hiccups, but Joao was extremely responsive and helped us resolve them quickly. The only thing I would mention is that the glass makes a lot of noise when it is changing temp, which you get use to, and it’s worth the floor to ceiling windows, but it’s just something to be aware of. Thanks Joao!!!!

It is a beautiful accommodation in a quiet location surrounded by beautiful nature. However, you should be very good on foot or own a car. And you should be fit in serpentine driving. 😂 All in all, a fantastic stay that we can only recommend.

We enjoyed the first minute. The gite is very quietly located between the fields. The view around was impressive. Edith and her husband live on the same estate, but after the introduction, you won't be bothered by that. On the contrary, they are there when you need them. The cottage has everything you need to stay there for a longer period of time. Outside, you have 2 fantastic terraces that ensure you can sit in the sun or shade at any time of the day. You can take fantastic bike rides and walks in the region. In the cottage itself, there are maps with marked walks/bike rides. We really recommend this cottage, I would go again..

We were warmly greeted by Alain and Clair on arrival – they couldn’t have been more welcoming, and their kindness really set the tone for our stay. The setting was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful, a real escape from the hustle and bustle. The highlight for us was sitting and looking out at the river and waterfall right next to the property – the view was stunning and the sound of the water was so soothing. We left feeling completely relaxed and recharged. Highly recommended!

It was a great stay, the house is super cozy, the place is super quiet for those looking to relax and have peace. A great garden, and a jacuzzi. I would like to highlight the reception of Mrs. Ilda, who was very friendly. A house and place I recommend to everyone!

Stayed here for a week. Loved the natural pool, the butterflies, the froglets and bull frogs, the bird song, the smell of lemons and herbs and the faint chance that we might spot an Iberian lynx all added to the romance of the place.

Beautiful cottage, fully equipped, very comfortable in a beautiful setting in nature. Perfect place to disconnect and experience the wonderful surroundings. Very friendly and accommodating hosts.

This place is truly one of a kind. Simply the most exceptional place I have been to. Great restaurants nearby, directly accessible by boat. We just loved cruising around the lake with the small motor boat, it made everything feel more special. The place itself is unique, as only very few houses are available in Santa Margherita. Lots of birds to watch, but the icing on the cake was all the fireflies at night that sparkle in the dark, really magical. But above all, Mattia was the friendliest, most helpful host and made everything nice and comfortable for us.
