Nature eco lodge holiday rentals in Southern Province

This was genuinely one of our favourite places in all of Sri Lanka. Incredibly peaceful and beautiful with a stunning view of the lake and just the sounds of nature. The room is very luxurious, from the big comfy bed to the beautiful bathroom with a hot waterfall shower, it was perfect! Madhu’s hospitality was expectional, we were so well taken care of and felt at home right away! We had dinner on the terrace by the lake both nights and it was the most delicious and varied local food we’ve had! The breakfast was also fantastic! One of the highlights was when Madhu offered for us to borrow her paddleboard of the lake where we went round the lagoon at sunset and saw lots of widlife! A truly exceptional place, would definitely recommend!!

This was our favourite place in Sri Lanka. The accomodation is stunning - right on the lagoon so you will see birds and animals right from your balcony. Chamin was the perfect host, his wife cooked us incredible food - Sri Lankan breakfast and an incredible BBQ of lagoon fish - which was one of the best meals of our whole trip. We also went to Bundala park for a safari - Chamin was an incredible host and spotted every animal - we saw 15 elephants, crocodiles, pelicans, monkeys and hundreds of tropical birds. We will definitely be coming back!

I stayed at the place for a week and was very satisfied with everything and can and will recommend it. You have a wonderful view and are surrounded by nature, you can hear the chirping of birds and you smell the smell of cinnamon and can relax in peace. You have a spacious shared kitchen where you can cook at any time including dining area. Since I am dependent on good and stable internalers due to my online business, I was very pleased that the internet was sufficient for this. The contact with the host family was very warm and you feel welcome and everything is done to help you and the food was fantastic. Thank you very much for everything, I will be back.

This place was so beautiful! So many well kept plants and the pool area was so nice. The gentleman working there and the lady that cooked were so kind and sweet and always smiling and wanting to help. Food was delicious. very kind people, even offered us our room to rest in after a safari after our check out time, so nice! Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again and again and again!

At first - super fast communication with host. It makes everything much easier! Thanks for that. Everything was good at the end, just a little minus - when we arrived at evening pool was dirty. Also on next morning there was varan (big lizard) swimming - but our kids will say that it’s a plus :)) After we asked about the pool it was immediately cleaned. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was really great. We recommend this place! No worries about the pool we swim and everything was good :)) Beautiful view!

Very friendly and sweet hosts. And well tasting food.

We loved this place! We arrived just before sunset, and the host gave us coconuts to sip while watching the sunset as the peacocks come home to roost. In the morning, we were served a big breakfast (toast, fresh fruits, coffee) and watched the male peacock put on an amazing display on the rocks near the water. The location is just a short walk to Secret Beach, but really, just hanging out in the yard looking at the water was what made it so special. The owner is the nicest man, and is happy to share stories and tips. Despite feeling disconnected, there is also decent wifi! You can get the same style of accommodations for half the price elsewhere in Marissa, but what you are getting here is the view, the kindness, and one truly unforgettable peacock crew. Our favorite place we stayed in Sri Lanka!

Dushan is an amazing host! Extremely helpful and friendly:) Nature cabanas is a very relaxing and beautiful place to stay! All staff is super friendly and food is fantastic :) also super friendly with our baby! We would recommend!!

Very nice room with high ceiling and big windows and a nice view of the river. The large bed is very comfy. Unfortunately no A/C, but well tolerable at night with ceiling fan. No cooking facilities, but cheap restaurants within walking distance. The family is very nice - and uncomplicated when changing the reservation.

We had a great time at this wonderful nature lodge. The environment was amazingly calm and relaxing, with lovely views. We enjoyed authentic Sri Lankan food. The staff were friendly and respectful. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm and relaxing nature experience while staying somewhat close to the beach.

We were Really happy to stay at this lovely big villa! The room was very very clean, and very BIG !! The host really made our stay perfect! Very attentive to our needs! It’s located not too far from Yala National parc main entrance! Me and my family will come back!!

Our family of five stayed at Tranquil Wild for two nights, and it just wasn't long enough! We loved the size of our room, with a mezzanine for the kids, and everything was clean and comfortable. The communal dining and outdoor spaces, along with the pool, were the perfect spaces to relax in nature, with books, games and outdoor toys too. The staff, in particular Amal, just couldn't do enough for us and are an absolute credit to the establishment. Anne too was communicative, and arranged safaris at both Lunugamvehera and Udawalawe for us at reasonable prices, the former with an excellent guide. I was so grateful to have one less thing to do whilst trip planning! We'd absolutely recommend Tranquil Wild as a must do whilst in Sri Lanka.

Great place to chill. I enjoyed simply sitting and watch birds and grey monkeys, ants and butterflies. Sleeping experience was nice: at least you may wake up early with temples, forest and rice field around. Kitchen utensils were enough to cook myself and small groceries are in walking distance. Need something fancy? - you may transit by bus to supermarket and by PickMe back (difficult to catch PickMe in touristic area). I considered about motorbike, but around Xmas and NY there were a lot of police on every major road so I stayed pedestrian. Overall - nice stay

The stay was really great and the accommodation was stunning. The location is perfect for the safari and they were happy to help organise and answer any questions we had. There isn't a lot to do in the immediate area so the resort was lovely to chill and relax in around other activities. They were also helpful in providing a tuktuk to a nearby restaurant and friendly throughout our stay - would recommend!

Our wish was that we stayed there longer. We were working remote while we traveled around Sri Lanka, and Lalith’s villa had everything we needed for this. The wifi was great (100mbs+), villa was very quiet and literally in nature (surrounded by so many different types of trees/fruits/vegetables). The pool and food was amazing. The host was very responsive and we even had delicious customized lunch and dinner meals prepared for a great price. The host even walked us through their cinnamon and coconut plantation! so much to explore, so little time.

Truly a magical experience. To go into too much detail would be ruining the adventure, but William and his team have carved out a slice of paradise that we will remember for a long time.

Gladly again, here you can switch off and do nude yoga on the beach so this natural beach is deserted. Wonderful

Wonderful stop about made here. Were warmly welcomed and deliciously cooked. Breakfast with views over the lake was delicious. The pool was also delicious.

A hospitable host. I was always in touch and ready to help (he advised me what to see and where to go, as well as with the organization of transport). It was nice to communicate not only with him, but also with his family. Wonderful location, beautiful garden and only 2 separate double-decker cabins on each floor. Lovely place with everything you need, including good internet. This place is quiet, comfortable, and loved the availability of hammocks. It's nice to lie in hammocks and listen to the birds. It was unexpected to see harmless monkeys on the palm trees. Close (5 min by walking) is a clean and deserted beach. Delicious breakfasts. You can also order dinner. If we are in Koggala again, we will definitely stay in this place. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

Worth every penny, that was one of the coolest stays I’ve ever had. The place was great, I would highly recommend it, it’s right beside the river which soothes the soul and Lulls you to sleep. I have to talk about the service, wow, incredible, I felt like royalty the way I was treated, and the main gentleman I believe his name was Dithu? He was beyond amazing, he went so out of his way to make me feel welcome, secure and cared for. He truly was amazing, all the staff were! As well as the main lady, I can’t remember her name! They also told me about cricket and we watched the fame while they prepared me a feast. Thankyou everyone for an incredible and memorable stay.
