A gem of a residence hidden on the cliff side of weligama. Vibrant colors and ascetically pleasing exterior and interior makes it the perfect residence for families or couples looking for a place around the area. It offers tons of activities which can be enjoyed by every group age whether u want it in- house or off property so plan a couple of extra days here you won't regret it. As its categorized as villas official star rating might not accurately picture, as it provided service and facilitates comparable to one of top *** hotels I have stayed in my short travelling time. This review won't be fair without mentioning the two best professional in the hospitality industry. They truly redefined how one looks at the famous Sri-Lankan hospitality. Their praise won't do justice with words, you guys need to experience it for yourself. Hopefully we were memorable guest for them as well, huge thanks to Shan and Toni. P.s Do try whale watching by boat or plane very  affordable packages provided.

A truly great place! The host and staff are super friendly and helpful. The room looked really nice, the beds were very comfortable and the shower was amazing! You can eat there as well and the food was really nice. This place offers really nice views of the ocean. You get help with your trips and a lot of local tips. I truly recommend this place!!

We felt very comfortable in the D Canal House! The facility is nicely designed and the staff super friendly and helpful. From 10-7pm there is a free tuktuk service from the hotel to Main Street and back - this is very helpful and convenient! But otherwise it is only about a 10-15 minute walk to the hotel and we always felt safe. The hotel is almost in the jungle, so it may of course be that one or the other animal crosses you (but was really in the frame). At night you can hear the peacocks, monkeys and crickets outside. The place was also very clean.

Sapara is an absolute hidden gem. My room was immaculate—spacious, modern, and spotless, with a huge, ultra-comfy bed. I was surprised to find a fully equipped, stylish kitchen that made the stay feel incredibly elevated. The real magic? Walking out each morning onto my private balcony overlooking the serene, breathtaking Bentota River. It’s the kind of view you never get tired of. The atmosphere is calm, luxurious, and designed with real intention. Service has far exceeded expectations—Bandulla, the owner, is attentive, thoughtful, and truly goes the extra mile, whether handling urgent needs or just making you feel at home. Every detail here whispers boutique comfort and care. It’s rare to find a place that nails both peace and polish so perfectly. If you’re even considering staying here—do it. You’ll leave refreshed, inspired, and already planning your return. I can’t recommend Sapara enough. A total standout in every way.

The big apartment is really beautiful. It also has a small kitchen. It is quiet, very clean but still you are very close to the Dalawella beach. Strongly recommended. Gamini is very kind. We are very thankful for the great time. Strongly recommended.

The hotel is not far from Galle Castle Castle. Our 7th and 1 small chartered car is very convenient. There is a big supermarket right next to the hotel. The swimming pool on the top floor is small but very comfortable and clean. The room is really the most modern I've ever stayed in Sri Lanka. The living room is large. It has everything you need. The room is very comfortable. The breakfast is really super rich. I really hope I can stay a few more days. It's great. It's right.

The apartments are very comfortable and big. The place is very good and you can reach the main beach by Tuk-Tuk in 10min. The staff is very friendly. Small secret beach’s can be reached by walk.

Spotless and clean! Very homey apartment that’s perfect for a relaxing weekend. We had a great time

What was important to me: there is an overhead light in the room (this is a rarity for Sri Lanka, usually there will only be a few lights on the walls in the bedroom). Window to the whole wall, the room is sunny but there are nice curtains if you like darkness. Across the street is the beach. That is, I just immediately went out in a swimsuit and then walked back. The beach is almost without waves (for someone a plus, for someone minus). The place is near the road, but if you look at the map of Unavantuna, you will see that if you want to live near the beach, there are no other options, or yes, or walk. But I recommend bringing earplugs for a better sleep. Nearby there is a kiosk with vegetables and fruits, many cafes, part of which are in hotels, there is a mini market. The main tourist street is a 10-minute walk, Angel beach where there are just big waves, as well. The hosts are very hospitable, but if you are sociophobic, just say it and no one will bother you without prior WhatsApp agreement. P.S. In Sri Lanka, lights are out once a day for an hour on a schedule.

I enjoed my stay , it's a short walk to the Turtle beach

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at mount house, so much we extended twice! It was clean and comfy, Dikwella and hiriketiya are both in easy walking distance and the bus stop to get to the rest of the coast is also close by. We loved watching the monkeys from the balcony, the friendly groundsman and little Judy dog. Very much recommend for lovely beachy days and a peaceful location
