This is an eclectic and imaginative one bedroom cottage sanctuary with a front porch swing for watching east Austin mosey on by. Joyous comfort is to be had in the main bedroom with custom cathedral ceiling and tempurpedic bed. The bathroom features a walk in shower with custom tile and a clawfoot tub for all of your bathing dreams. There is an additional sleeping loft should you have a friend or two who would like to accompany you. City of Austin Operating License # 096563 This lot features a front house (all yours) and a back house that we stay at when we are in Austin. Please make yourself at home on the front and side porches but we ask that you give some privacy to the back yard immediately surrounding the back house. Thank you! I travel often but regularly stay in the back house on the property. I love getting to know guests and if our paths cross I look forward to talking with you. Central East Austin is a diverse and dynamic neighborhood that is just a few minutes from downtown and yet still quiet. In addition to offering of some of Austin's best restaurants and music venues, it also has important history to explore. In the last century, highway 35 was a tool of segregation, with east (of 35) Austin providing a rich community for African Americans. See how this history lives on through a plethora of old and new businesses is this burgeoning neighborhood! There is a parking spot that you are welcome to use directly in front of the house and there is also plenty of street parking with no permitting or street cleaning concerns. The closest B-Cycle station is a 15 minute walk away at Victory Grill on 11th St. Many of the 6th St restaurants and bars are a 10 minute walk as well. If you would prefer not to walk, there are a selection of ride share services such as RideAustin (our favorite), Lyft, or Uber. The street has two names, Hamilton Ave and Richard Overton Ave. Depending on your map source you may see either one pop up. Richard Overton is the oldest living American and American World War II veteran at 112 years of age. He lives down the block where be bought a house after the war ended.

We have a chiminea and adirondak chairs in the back yard for our guests use. Build a fire and roast some marshmallows with the family! Up to two dogs are welcome with a one time $75 pet fee. Our rental includes everything our guests need for a short or long stay. Fully equipped kitchen for those who want to cook. Laundry and dryer included. We are available for questions and do our utmost to respond to your inquiries as quickly as we can. A relaxing and pleasant experience is our priority. The bungalow is only a few minutes' walk from Tomahawk Lake, beautiful walking trails, and nearby waterfalls. Visit breweries and restaurants in local Black Mountain and explore fine dining and nightlife in Asheville—a 20-minute drive away. Less than a five minute drive from downtown Black Mountain and approximately 20 minutes to downtown Asheville. Uber is available to get you to either location if needed.
