Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Southesk Parish

Amazing place.. it is in a super location with a spectacular view of the river and bridge. Able to fish from shore during low tide, make use of the hottub, bbq your supper and have an evening fire in the fire pit.. Peaceful and quiet. Four nights was not enough..Hosts were great and always available if there are any issues. Highly recommend.. truly hated to leave.

Susan’s place was great. We were away for a girls weekend. Very comfortable, well appointed, everything you needed in the kitchen. Lots of outdoor seating! We loved the fire pit and swings around it. Our favourite space was the screened in room with the hot tub. One bedroom upstairs with king bed, 2 other bedrooms downstairs and 2 bathrooms in the house. Unfortunately it was too windy to use the kayaks. I would recommend Susan’s place.

Angela’s house is just as you see it in the pictures. The beach is great and literally in your backyard! The sunsets are incredible. The house is massive with a big kitchen ideal for groups and big families. The house is very well equipped and furnished with a thought for every detail to feel at home. It actually feels like a friends home you would have borrowed, that’s how homey it feels. The only downside like other comments mentioned are the bloody mosquitoes who will eat you alive after 5.00pm. It might have been nice to have a protected outdoor area. Also, if you’re picky with the taste of water, this one tastes a little bit like lake water. We had a great stay at Angela’s and we would all highly recommend the place to friends and family!

Private and quiet place. House was welcoming and well decorated. Very clean as well. Had everything we needed. Hot tub was clean and really nice to come home to after a day of meetings. Crystal was very responsive and helpful. Would recommend this stay and if ever we need to come back would definitely book again.

Home is well located off the highway and with the landscaping fairly private. Hosts are very responsive and were quick to address the few issues we had. Unfortunately we didn’t get to use the hot tub as we were in the thick of bug season. Overall the home had all of the necessary amenities one would require for a short stay and met our needs.

Very pleased with my stay at Golden Sands, More spacious that expected, nice little work area which was perfect as I was on a “working” vacation. :)

The place is cozy, warm, and comfortable, with plenty of cooking appliances that made meal prep a breeze. A wonderful stay overall—highly recommended.

My two dogs and myself booked our stay with Marie-Ghislaine and Réal late at night on our way to Newfoundland. Marie was very helpful, kind and open-minded. Her studio is perfect, has everything you need, although the shower is tiny, and her yard is huge. My dogs had an amazing morning stroll around her gardens and enjoyed meeting the chicken group! We ended up staying a second night here and hope to come back again on our way back home after our trip! 🏠

Was one of the best Airbnb experience

We had a wonderful stay at Shelley and Carolle’s cabin! The place was absolutely beautiful — cozy, clean, and thoughtfully decorated. It had everything we needed and more, from a fully equipped kitchen to those little extra touches that made it feel like home. You can tell a lot of care has gone into creating a peaceful and welcoming space. Shelley and Carolle were fantastic hosts — kind, responsive, and made us feel very welcome. We’d love to come back someday. Highly recommend!

This stay was an absolute gem—truly the perfect escape from the routine and stress of daily life. From the peaceful trail and cozy fire pit to the charming woodstove and refreshing shower, every detail is thoughtfully prepared to help you unwind and recharge. What made the experience even more special was the incredible hospitality of the host. They go above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome and comfortable, and their genuine warmth makes all the difference. I highly recommend arranging for the host to pick you up at the designated location—it’s not only convenient, but also an amazing opportunity to enjoy a breathtaking ATV or snowmobile ride through stunning landscapes. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss! I’ll definitely be sharing this hidden gem with my friends and planning to return with them. Can’t wait to experience it all over again!

Really beautiful cabin and great host! Even though the location was less secluded than expected, there was just as much privacy and peace and quiet. You will hear some sounds from the road but it didn't bother at all. Great place to bring your favourite board games and unwind with your loved ones. There is also lots to do around and beautiful places to see. Definitely recommend. Thank you so much :)

As always, a great stay in this cottage with everything we needed. Host always got back to us with answers and suggestions on things to do or places to go. Very clean well looked after cottage and very relaxing on the waterfront of the river. Thank you

We had a wonderful stay at Tanya’s place. The kitchen was fully stocked, there were plenty of board games to play, and the mini split/AC unit was a life saver, especially during the heatwave. My favourite part was the screened in porch where we sat every morning and evening and took in the beautiful view and the peaceful sounds of nature.

We had a fantastic stay and couldn’t be happier with our experience! Amanda was incredibly helpful and always quick to respond. The location is peaceful and private—an ideal spot for a relaxing getaway. We’d love to visit again in the summer!
