Cottage holiday rentals in Southwest Rural District

I’m not one for taking a lot of time to write a review, but this place is the best Airbnb I have ever stayed at. Clean, beautiful, peaceful, private, and the attention to details is amazing. More than we ever expected, this place is amazing!

What a beautiful location , rich in history. The grounds are amazing with lots to do including walking trails. The receptionist was very friendly and took the time to give us a detailed explanation of where we were staying and where all the amenities were located. The breakfast was very good and the location is central to many attractions. Loved we could visit with our two dogs . I would certainly stay here again.

Cottage was spotless, very serene, great getaway and close to St Andrews! Shauna was the perfect host - responsive and helpful. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful spot! My siblings and I had an amazing stay and highly recommend checking out this piece of paradise! To be back on Lake Utopia after 15 years has been so memorable! We are so fortunate to stay on the same lake that we grew up on and visited every summer. This incredible space was absolutely stunning. Thank you Catherine! We will definitely be back!

My husband and I just stayed one night while passing through the area, but we wish we could have stayed longer. It was quiet and peaceful. It would be a perfect place for a weekend away.

Alie is attentive to her emails, responds quickly. Place was immaculate, beds vey comfortable. Enjoyed the privacy, just what we wanted.

Amazing place to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the water and wildlife. Neil was a superb host and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome . The place was more beautiful than the pictures and the view and sunsets amazing ! Our golden Luna loved the daily walks down for the bay and spent hours in the water . We will definitely be back ! Thanks again Neil and Debby for being the most superb hosts !

Rachel was so kind and even had a card and treat waiting for us once we arrived. Everything was perfect! Beautiful scenery and right on the lake. There are only two things I would note. There isn’t a microwave just and the shower fluctuates from hot to cold randomly.

Jeanette's cottage was great! Plenty of room and very well equipped. The cottage is a 5 minute walk to the waters edge. The tide in the bay is amazing with an area to walk around at low tide. There are many other places to discover within a 15 minute drive. A free ferry to the island, a pebble beach, tide pools, and a little town with all the amenities.

This will be my 3rd summer enjoying this breath taking spot and the island is just a beautiful bonus ! Each year I met new dark harbour residents and I see the old faces I met years before , kind folks who will spot and chat with ya. I left one of my hummingbird feeders because I have never seen so many and I actually had one land on my feeding rings when it was on my finger !!! (1cup sugar to 4cups water and bowl) The steps out back were such a great add on this year :) another year of memories made at this hidden gem on the best part of the island .

It was the perfect place to celebrate my 40th birthday weekend with a few friends! Right from the start we were made to feel welcome with a welcome basket with everything we needed for smores including fire starters and sticks in addition to nice handwritten note. We all loved the cottage inside with more than enough room for both kids and adults to relax or play games, sleep and eat supper. Outside was also great with the bbq, fire pit, propane fire table, especially at night with the amazing stars!), yard games and of course the beautiful lake especially with the leaves at this time of year! We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards and a little swimming repeatedly including the last morning after the hosts graciously allowed us to check out a couple hour later! We, especially the kids, also enjoyed the visits from a very friendly pug the hosts had told us would likely drop by. All in all I highly recommend staying at Shore Thing Cottage! We will definitely consider coming back!

We loved our time at the Artists Cabin! It was very private with a great beach and spectacular views. Krista and Jordy were very communicative and responded quickly to all our questions. We hope to return soon!

My husband Tanner and I stayed here while in Blacks Harbour for a white-water kayaking trip on the Magaguadavic River—and it was perfect! The place was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was a peaceful spot to come back to after a long day on the water. Communication with the host was smooth and friendly, and check-in was a breeze.

Tracy’s Maces Bay home was exactly that! A very comfortable and “feel right at home” home. It was stocked with amenities including all types of coffee and tea, which are often not found. The refurbished bathroom is beautiful as well as the sunroom. The view of the tides going in and out is amazing. Tracy was a great hostess and accommodated a great stay at very short notice. We also enjoyed the deer in the yard. A trip to St John’s to see the reversing falls was interesting, as well as eating lobster and wild blueberries nearby.

This was my second time at this beautiful cottage! so many updates were done since I was there in April. They took all the recommendations from guests and added all the extra touches! Check in and check out was super easy and the host was very responsive. I can't wait to book the 3rd stay here! My mom, sister and I had an absolute wonderful stay!!

Beautiful house on a beautiful property! Loved the view. House looks just like the pictures! Very clean. Host did a great job. Stayed here as a getting ready space for our wedding, the perfect place :)

Vince's cabin is the ideal retreat! Nestled in a secluded spot, it's just a short walk down a wooded path to the beach. The backyard features a deck overlooking a fire pit, perfect for evening bonfires; Vince thoughtfully provided kindling and firewood. Inside, the cabin has a warm and inviting feel. My daughter described it as "cozy rustic." The beds were comfortable, and the peaceful surroundings ensured I slept wonderfully both nights. Vince has thought of everything you might need during your stay, even a spare toothbrush in case, like one of my children, you forget yours. Vince also went the extra mile by providing breakfast for the first morning, a lovely touch. The internet connection was reliable, and I appreciated the convenience of the washer and dryer. The clawfoot bathtub was perfect for a long, relaxing soak. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would gladly return if it's available. Vince was prompt in responding to texts and a gracious host. I wholeheartedly recommend

Our stay at Gull's Landing was truly perfect. The home is so tastefully decorated with timeless coastal features and spectacular views. It was sparkling clean and had plenty of amenities. The location is ideal, within walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops. Karen and Dave were always responsive and accommodating to our requests. We can't wait for our next visit!

We had a fantastic first-time stay at Todd and Jessica's cottage. The cottage's front lawn comes to the water so it is easy and incredible to sit on the spacious patio and watch the tides, Spoon island, and numerous waterfowl like great blue herons, eagles, crows, seagulls and cormorants. The cottage is clean and well equipped, inc. two pairs of binoculars, games, and well equipped kitchen. The fire pit is beautiful and we had sufficient supply of wood. We appreciate being able to bring our dog - we walked the nearby Gagong Nature Preserve every morning and it was great. St. Stephen is nearby for convenience as is a great little local vegetable market (inc. fresh blueberries, NB honey and maple syrup) - on route 170 toward St. Stephen. We highly recommend the place! very cozy quiet private. Bay breeze restaurant 3 min walk. it has the best view in Atlantic Canda..while eating a home cooked breakfast. this area is a wonderful place to visit and this cottage is right in the heart. 30 min from st andrews 30 min from saint john ! treat yourself!

our second stay at this serene cottage and couldn't ask for a better staycation! Responsive and helpful host and easy to navigate instructions. Everything you could need for a peaceful and fun lake front property. perfect outdoor seating areas, deck, kayaks and SUP board, BBQ and so much more! Thank you Shannon for the perfect get away!
