Sugar Maple is a beautiful slice of solitude. We spent a long weekend kayaking, and enjoying the peaceful yard with campfires and games. The home was very comfortable with all the basic amenities you could need. There’s onsite laundry, kitchen cookware/utensils, a high chair, board games/cards, kayaks/life vests, and a grill. If you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is the perfect location. Newport doesn’t offer many dining options, so we spent most nights cooking in the spacious kitchen. Each room has its own mini split, allowing each guest their own level of comfort. We did a day trip to Acadia and Camden, and spent time in Belfast and Bangor. So many nice areas within one hour from the house. Would definitely stay here again! You won’t be disappointed.

We had a wonderful stay at Plover Cottage and truly enjoyed the incredible views of Taunton Bay from the windows as well as the sitting areas on the property. Bar Harbor and ANP are about a 40 minute drive but a very nice one at that. Schoodic Peninsula is a closer ride and well worth the visit! The kitchen is well stocked and filled with other essentials that make for a wonderful stay to explore the beautiful coastal towns in the area. Thank you Jonathan for being a responsive host and offering us a wonderful place to experience Acadia National Park!

My family loved our stay! The house was beautiful, peaceful, and right by the lake. There was lots to do at the with all the kayaks, canoes, paddle boards available to explore the lake. We spent a couple of days exploring Acadia, but enjoyed just staying at the house enjoying the scenario. James was also a very responsive host.

We lived the coziness and homeyness of the house. It felt like grandmas house but more up to date. The location was amazing- quiet neighborhood but close to many towns and easy driving to Acadia and Bay Harbor and Portland! The host was very responsive and we loved the sunroom (and so did our pups!)

The home was so cozy with comfy beds. A beautiful beach around the corner and close to stores but very private and beautiful. Thank you for allowing our dog to enjoy our get a way as well!! He loved the treats and hidden toys❤️

We absolutely adored this place. It was huge and very comfortable. We actually ended up spending a significant portion of the trip at home because it was so relaxing. The kitchen has everything you might need and we really appreciate the coffee and tea! Tiffany was splendid and even dropped off half watermelon for us to enjoy. Amanda was very responsive and gave great tips on things to do in the area. This had everything we were looking for and more. If I ever get the pleasure to go Maine again, I definitely will be staying here!

The lakeside cabin was just what I needed. Quiet, private, and right on the water. My dog loved running in the yard and swimming in the lake. The cabin was comfortable with all the basics, and sitting on the porch watching the water was so relaxing. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Beautiful and peaceful place! Just admiring the surroundings let the peace and tranquility set in and consume you. Highly recommend! Teresa is a wonderful host and flexible to your needs. Will definitely visit again, thank you Teresa!

Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

This was one of the most memorable places I have ever lived at! The property is huge, well maintained and just a perfect getaway spot with the right amount of amenities. Will definitely recommend this place 10/10 to anyone visiting Acadia National Park.

I stayed there for two weeks and I would stay again. It was very quiet which is my number one need. Two it was clean. Three nice kitchen with all the appliances you need. Four Jeanmarie answered all questions quickly and clearly. Five lots of room in the house. Six it was nice and warm in the winter weather.

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

Adorable cottage, newly renovated. Perfect for two with an open space loft for one more. Kitchen is well stocked right down to the coffee. A good location if visiting Fort Knox, Mt. Barrie and not too far from Bar Harbor if that is on your list. Great stay, highly recommend. Beautiful view and private.

We had the most amazing week at Adam and Lauren’s place! I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful it was. The house was and cozy inviting- we felt right at home. And it had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed. All of the furniture was incredibly comfortable, and we slept amazingly in the king sized bed. But what made this place shine was the outdoor space. First, it is nice and private, separated from all the neighbors by trees/patches of woods. But beyond the privacy, the hosts have put so much attention into making it outstanding with all the amenities you could want on vacation- an amazing hot tub, a lovely little lounge space, a tent to get out of the sun or rain, a grilling area, AND a pool?! PLUS a separate, fully fenced space for dogs?? AND THEN it’s only 20 min to Bar Harbor?! It’s got it all. Truly. If you are considering booking this place, do not hesitate for one second. It is the PERFECT Acadia getaway. And Adam and Lauren are great, attentive hosts!

We enjoyed our stay in Patty's place. It was comfortable , especially the bed in the front room. There was a very large outdoor area and a nearby dog-friendly walking trail. The house, situated in a beautiful rural area, was still close enough to retail stores, restaurants, and gas. As we did a long-term rental from January to March, we very much appreciated that the place was warm and that the long driveway was always ploughed out every time after it stopped snowing. Wifi is very reliable. Patty was responsive to our requests and questions.

I had the pleasure of staying in Anthony's place for a week in June and everything was perfect. The post and beam structure is beautiful, lofty, and well lit. The pictures really don't do it justice. All the utilities worked well and it had every amenity, including a whirlpool tub, dish washer, and laundry. The dog park was a bonus for our pup! We plan on coming again next year and recommend it anyone looking for a private comfortable space for two.

Retreat House was a perfect match for our needs - we were 8 adults, 5 children under 6 and the family dogs and we had plenty of room to spread out. Having our own private beach was an added bonus. Paul had more than enough firewood stacked and ready for our use in the house fireplace. There is also a fire circle on the beach, and sitting in front of a fire while the kids played in the water was so relaxing! The house was THE MOST stocked house we have ever stayed in! There were more towels than we ever could have used, paper products galore, every type of pot or pan we needed. There was also a fairly large selection of games to while away the time. If you are someone who is looking for a pristine, condominium type (ie stark and lacking any personality), then this home is not for you. However, if you long for a big old rambling cottage at the beach - one that is brimming with character and quaint little touches (the grandkids loved the fairy house tucked in the woods), rent this

The home itself was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully maintained, with everything I needed to feel comfortable and at ease. It offered the perfect blend of privacy and convenience—just 5 minutes from Searsport, 20 minutes from Belfast, 30 minutes from Camden, and about an hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Whether you're looking to explore the coast or simply unwind in a serene setting, this location is ideal. This place truly felt like a hidden gem. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a quiet, scenic escape in Midcoast Maine.

This was a truly magical stay! Peaceful, private, comfortable… The most well thought out and welcoming off-grid lodging I’ve ever stayed in! The cabin itself is spectacular and the surrounding garden and forest are just enchanted. Rod was an incredible host, responsive and so accommodating when I needed to shift my reservation. I would stay there again in a heartbeat! Don’t even hesitate on this one!

We enjoyed our stay so much! What a great home. Plenty of space for the three of us on our girls getaway. Great amenities, beds, and shower. We loved the deck. Plus loads of other thoughtful touches. It was terrific to have the washer and dryer. Perfect spot for touring the coast from Boothbay to Acadia. Not to mention the beautiful spots to visit right nearby! Killeen gave us lots of different recommendations that were all out of this world. I hope to be fortunate to stay here again. Thank you!

We stayed overnight in the yurt while traveling from Acadia National Park to Portland. The yurt was beautiful and very well equipped. The heater worked efficiently in the morning when we woke up to chilly temps. Hot water, clean, comfortable, with beautiful surroundings. Would stay again and highly recommend!
