Wow what a beautiful place to stay. Mark was such a kind helpful man who really went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. The accommodation is stunning extremely well made. We felt relaxed and really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. There are beautiful places to visit in the area. Lots of nice long walks for my dogs. We will be back soon.

I booked to stay at the Mendham Mill with my family over the bank holiday weekend and it was the best decision. The mill is a beautiful tranquil retreat and we felt so at home. I would say it looks even more beautiful in person than the photos on the listing. The surrounding gardens are so amazingly looked after and I was constantly looking out the windows or walking along the river spotting all kinds of wildlife. The Mill house itself has been done up really well and had all the amenities you could need. The kitchen was really well kitted out too. I absolutely loved spending the weekend here and we are already talking about our next visit.

The house was absolutely lovely. Gorgeous inside and out, and very comfortable to live in. The village is very quiet, but it's only a short drive into Colchester, where you can find tons of things to do. Chris was a great host who made check in easy and made us feel very welcome in his home. Would definitely stay again!

We had the best time at Mendham Mill! We were at family of 4, 2 adults 2 children aged 10 and 15. Mill Race Cottage was the perfect size for us, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. We loved the amenities on site- the games room was fantastic, we had a great time using the canoes and loved wild swimming. James and Nick were wonderful hosts and so helpful. Thank you!!!

We had a great weekend David was easy to contact and provided useful information and recommendations via text and in the lodge. The lodge had plenty of outside seating and use of the kayaks was a great way to explore the marina. The lodge was a good size with all we needed for a weekend stay. Plenty of lovely places to visit nearby and couple of good pubs only a mile away.

I booked Lakeview Lodges as a surprise birthday trip for my partner and honestly, it couldn’t have been better. Mark and Stacey were amazing from start to finish, it felt more like staying with friends than a holiday rental. They were super helpful with local tips and even went out of their way to decorate the lodge for the birthday, which was a really nice touch. The lodge itself is beautiful, rustic charm with peaceful views and so much character. We brought our newborn and 7-year-old daughter, and the setting was perfect for both relaxation and fun. Spent loads of time paddleboarding and messing about in the boat on the lake, then came back to BBQs and sunsets on the deck. It was exactly what we needed, calm, fun, and full of special little moments. We’ll definitely be back.

This stay was one of our favourite mini-breaks yet! Mark and Stacey's place was the perfect location for our short family getaway. We felt right at home; there were plenty of activities for our kids to enjoy. The local village of Long Melford was only a short cycle away (and of course, Mark had bikes ready for us) - there was literally nothing more Mark could have done for us, and we'll definitely be returning!
