Holiday rentals with a sauna in Sveitarfélagið Ölfus

We had a great visit, and we loved this Airbnb! It was conveniently located, and it had plenty of space for our family of five! We would most definitely stay here again!

Had a quick 2 night stay and this was a perfect location. Minutes from the airport, restaurants and grocery. House had thoughtful items that made the trip easier (lots of charging converters, gaming for the kids, etc). Great stay.

Appartamento splendido, pulitissimo, con un’ampia vetrata da cui, se siete fortunati, potrete vedere l’aurora boreale. Thelma è una host fantastica, risponde in fretta e si preoccupa di dare molte informazioni utili. Ci ha anche avvisato della possibilità di vedere l’aurora da casa!

a great place. it's right by a diversity square in the city center which is exactly what we were looking for. Decent sound proofing from the street so we weren't disturbed much. jacuzzi takes a ling time to fill but that's fine, we went to the pub across the road for a drink whilst we waited. Great communication and no complaints

Het uitzicht vanuit de woonkamer is adembenemend. De villa is goed te bereiken en ligt op minder dan tien minuten rijden van Fludir, waar je boodschappen kunt doen en naar de secret lagoon kunt gaan. Perfecte locatie dus. We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in de villa!

We were fortunate to have great weather in such a beautiful out of the way location. The host was very responsive, the place is lovely, and the additional hot tub and spa feature was welcome. They are clearly not accustomed to warm weather since the bedrooms were very warm for sleeping (even with open windows), but the living space and kitchen were wonderful. I would stay there again.

Our stay at this Heathland Lodge was, without a shadow of a doubt, an absolutely exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a sense of privacy and serenity that is truly rare. The lodge itself is a masterpiece of wonderful Scandinavian minimalist design, where every detail, every texture, and every carefully chosen furnishing whispers (no, screams!) understated luxury. It's clear that immense thought and care have gone into creating a space that is not just beautiful to behold, but incredibly comfortable and restorative to inhabit. The location is simply breathtaking, offering amazing and uninterrupted views of the surrounding lava field. Waking up to such a unique and dramatic landscape was a daily highlight, a constant reminder of Iceland's raw, natural beauty. What a great place. We really enjoyed our stay here. Lots of room for everyone and such a great location - not far out of the city but very peaceful and beautiful. The favourite of the Air Bnb's we booked for our Iceland trip!

Todella hieno ja rauhallinen paikka, tilan hevoset upeita ja muut maatilan eläimet sekä koirat ihastuttavia. Mahdollisuus ratsastusvaellukseen oli syy miksi valitsimme tämän paikan, mutta voisin hyvin majoittua täällä myös muutenkin. Mökki oli hieno, kodikas ja hyvin varusteltu ja meidät otettiin hyvin lämpimästi vastaan. Mökin keittiöstä oli ihana katsella laiduntavia hevosia. Harmittaa että yövyimme vain yhden yön, olisimme viihtyneet pidempäänkin. Voin suositella lämpimästi tätä paikkaa.

What a great find! The place was perfect and the rooms were spacious, warm and comfortable. The kids loved the hot tub and I loved the books! I read a Steinbeck book which I greatly appreciated. The kitchen was beautiful as was the sunroom. I imagine the sunroom would be the perfect room to see the Northern Lights. The neighborhood was peaceful and we even got to spend a little time with one of the neighbors who was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were very spacious, clean & nicely designed. If you are looking for horseback riding our kids LOVED “Riding Tours South Iceland.” Our stay was absolutely wonderful. I would love to return there someday.

This place is great! Very cozy and close to the golden circle and Selfoss, which has great restaurants! We especially enjoyed the cozy vibe of the interior furniture and kitchen. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and cold plunge combo. Magnús was really responsive when we had questions, and even got on the phone to walk us through how to fill the hot tub and turn off the lights so we could better view the aurora!

Our 4 night stay in Larus’ Lakefront Villa & nearby attractions of the Golden Circle were one of the highlights of our trip-we highly recommend! His home is spectacular in every way, including a hot tub, sauna, a large living room/gathering space w/well appointed kitchen. Directly on a lake, without others in close proximity, it’s ideal for those that want to experience the splendor of this part of Iceland more privately. As a host, Larus goes above & beyond! We had brought some equipment to fish the river 100 yards away, but not small enough tackle. When we emailed him asking location of a tackle shop, after returning from a daily activity, we were surprised & delighted to find 2 more rods & 2 new trays of tackle appropriate for the trout in the river; giving 4 of our group the chance to do some fishing in Iceland.
