In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). This traditional inn was opened by my grandmother in 1973 and has a history of over 50 years. We welcome guests while preserving the atmosphere of the good old Japan. It is located in the center of Takayama City, 3 minutes on foot to the old town, 10 minutes on foot to Takayama Station, 5 minutes on foot to Jinya Morning Market and Miyagawa Morning Market. Opened in August 2020, Onomachi Yard is a one-group-per-day inn located in a renovated 120-year-old white-walled storehouse in the heart of Hida Furukawa. You can freely use the simple guest house. It can accommodate up to 5 guests, but I think it is comfortable for 4 guests. There is a large parking lot. If you are on a motorcycle tour, you can enjoy a campfire while looking at your motorcycle. I confidently recommend it to families and hobby groups.
