Holiday rentals in Tangalle

The Box House is one of the most amazing Air BnB’s I’ve ever stayed in. In terms of design it is a unique house and the pictures capture the scale perfectly. The villa has full staffing led by the lovely Dhilan who is a great chef, concierge, butler all rolled into one. His Sri Lankan dhal, omelette, and moju are perfection! This was an RnR break for the family and Box House ticked all the boxes. The pool is HUGE and the ground lovely. Everything was on hand for us to unwind and switch off for a few days. Kasun handled all pre booking comms promptly and was very helpful. Three of the five bedrooms have their own entrance so this makes the property perfect for larger groups. I have a couple of suggestions for the hosts to elevate Box House even further. If air conditioning can be added to the main room it can increase its usability and families can have a central space to come together. Second, a small menu stating Dhilan’s specialities in Sri Lankan cuisine will be very helpful.

Absolutely gorgeous place, so private yet so close to Hiri beach. The pool on the deck was lovely for afternoon chilling. The villa is modern and really nicely decorated and host is really easy to get in touch with and provided lots of really useful info on the local area. Munoj is so friendly and accommodating too. Highly highly recommend!

We had a lovely time at Lova’s place! The accommodation was beautiful and clean. Short reminder that there is no AC but with the open windows and fan the heat was manageable. The atmosphere was amazing, waking up to the sun and sounds of the forest was a dream. The location was a little remote, we rented a scooter to get to the beaches (takes ca 25 min to Hiriketiya, 15 min to Tangalle).

All I can say is wow! What stood out most to me were the amazing architecture and design of MOND, the extremely friendly and helpful owner Renato and all the staff at the cafe, and the best breakfast and coffee I had in Sri Lanka. Thank you for creating such a beautiful place, I can’t wait to come back!

I highly recommend this place! The room was super clean and the bed really comfortable, equipped with everything you might need and a great balcony to chill in the evening. It’s perfectly located between Hiriketiya and Tangalle, which makes it easy to explore all the beaches in between. Close by there is Malewa Beach, beautiful and still untouched. A special thank you to Supun and his wife, who were the kindest hosts. They always made sure everything was perfect. Supun also shared great local tips that really made our stay even better. We felt truly welcomed and cared for.

We were lucky and were able to check in early. I was sent all the information I needed on a w***e. Upon arrival, we were met by Guyan and Irish. Irish was very kind, we saw him every day when he came to clean the area. Having a pool is an absolute plus in this villa. We bathed in it both morning and evening. The sea is a 3-minute walk. At this time, it is not crowded and almost all the beaches are not crowded. It is better to move around the tangalle by bike to visit various beaches and cafes. We walked from the villa to a lovely restaurant in 10 minutes. In general, we did not regret it at all and remembered this villa for the rest of the trip.

This is an extremely cozy house! It is located a little bit deep from the main roads, so it is silence and calm here. I enjoyed here with birds, palms, nature sounds. I was surprised with small quantity of mosquitos here, but for your safety hosts provide you with mosquito net. Oh, God, how it's wonderful to sleep with open doors and windows here - it's smell, sounds..perfect! And to be honest I even didn't use a fan during night's, because the temperature was absolutely comfortable. The villa has rather good WiFi and if you are a remote worker it will suite to you (the day temperature is also good when you open windows and use fan, there is no necessity in AC). Hosts are absolutely cute and caring about you! But villa is located rather far from any shops and beaches (apr. 10 min by bike) - so bike or tuktuk are absolutely necessary here, and there is not a problem to reach this location. Having traveled the entire coast from Galle, I do not want to change this place of living.

The place was definitely the most beautiful of our whole trip. It looked exactly like the photos and we felt incredibly comfortable! Drinking his coffee and breakfast on the beautiful terrace in the morning was a highlight. The host and staff were very nice and picked us up from the street with a tuktuk, for example, when we didn't find the entrance directly. We were also able to rent scooters directly via the accommodation and organize tuktuks to the next place. Unfortunately, there are not so much in the area except for a few restaurants (which are great) (no real shopping), but e.g. Jungle Beach is only a few minutes away on foot and incredibly beautiful!
