Michel is a perfect host. You can tell that it is his passion to accommodate guests and that he has fulfilled a dream with his guest house. You couldn't choose a better place to explore and enjoy Fès. The wonderful courtyard of his estate is a peaceful oasis in the busy, impressive bustle of the old town. Guests are surrounded by a pleasant atmosphere, enjoying coffee, tea or a cool drink under shady trees. The rooms are furnished in the typical local style, but not kitschy, but very tasteful. If you have the chance to be a guest here, you should book immediately. Really a gem. And with all that, Michel was very helpful when it came to organizing something during the stay - from the transfer to the airport to the excursion. A big thank you!

For Medina experience, it is a great place to stay. The accommodation is by the oldest university in the world, The University of al-Qarawiyyin. (UNESCO and the Guinness World Records, have cited al-Qarawiyyin as the oldest university or oldest continually operating higher learning institution in the world.) The place is also surrounded by Moorish / Andalusian and Marinid / Berber architectural gems such as Bou Inania Madrasa and Al-Attarine Madrasa. On the flip side, although Fes Medina is very safe, it may be a good idea especially for solo travelers to be back to the place by the last prayer's call of the day or a little later (like 11 pm in the summer). Finally, Sonhild and Said are great people. They will make you feel home.

The riad was beautiful and the location was perfect! The room was beautifully decorated, and the center garden was a lovely spot to have breakfast. The staff were helpful and kind. I would recommend this space for anyone looking to stay in Fez in a quiet area of the medina.
