The Log Cabin on the Canoochee River

This cabin is located on the river bank of the Canoochee River in Claxton, Georgia. This is a hidden treasure in south Georgia. The river is great for swimming, kayaking and fishing. During most of the year a vessel larger than a kayak will not be able to navigate the river. Note: Presently, winter months are not available to be booked. The past two winters have had excessive flooding. Host will make these weeks available two weeks at a time as the water level is adequate for access.

Shooting range/hunting 4 miles away at Big Hammock nature preserve. The sun rises on the front porch and sets on the back porch. A getaway from everything.

Our camp site is equipped with 30 amp power/water and sewer. Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape not far from Statesboro, Pooler or Savannah Ga. Surrounded by a beautiful 1930’s Bed and Breakfast Victorian home and a running plant nursery our home is located in a quaint little town called Hagan which was once a prosperous lumber town. Settlements along the route of the Savannah and Western Railroad which still runs began to prosper and become established as towns.

Enjoy the majestic views from this Cypress Cabin on the banks of the Ohoopee River. Run your toes through the sugary white sand while sunning on your own private sand bar beach. Then dip into the water to cool off the summer sun warmth. Don't forget your fishing pole. Enjoy canoeing and kayking on the Ohoopee River. Or enjoy reading a book on the large porch and soak in the peace and quiet over looking the river. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay.

Our picturesque 100 acre farm setting offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature! Guests love sitting on the porch swing to watch the sunset or farmers work the field. The cabin is perfect for retreats, family vacations, getaways, and honeymoons. Unwind in our cozy pond house and enjoy the beauty of the countryside. The pond house is within minutes of Rock Hill Barn, The Collins Family Barn, Georgia Southern University, Vidalia Onion Festival and Splash in the Boro.

Drift Away

This riverside retreat offers fishing, kayaking, or just relaxing on the porch and listen to the river run. There is a public boat ramp a few hundred yards away. Jack Hill State Park and Golf Course is just 8.7 miles away. Phone reception is poor unless you enable WiFi calling. This is a simple, but clean and cozy cabin. It isn’t the Hilton, but people seem to love it and we love staying here as often we can. Come fish, relax, and explore!

Beautiful 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage with a sleeping loft nestled on 30 acres bordered by a beautiful freshwater creek and offering private UTV/ATV trail leading to private sandbar access. The majority of wood used in construction of this cabin was hand milled on site. Convenient location in proximity to Vidalia, Lyons, Metter and Statesboro.
