We had a fantastic stay at Þóra and Ivan's home! They were so friendly and helpful and we felt so welcomed and at home. We really couldn't fault our experience, it was the highlight of of stay in Iceland. It's really a beautiful place (about 10 minutes outside Akureyri) with fantastic views and we even saw the northern lights right over head on the second night! The house has been thoughtfully designed by the hosts, it is warm, cozy and stylish. Breakfast was great with home made bread and waffles and a great selection of tea. Beds were really comfy :) Stay here if you can, what Þóra and Ivan offer is the pinnacle of Air B&B experiences!

Auf unserem Roadtrip durch Island haben wir in vielen verschiedenen Unterkünften übernachtet. Dieses süße, saubere und in guter Lage gelegene Gästehaus hat uns mit Abstand am besten gefallen. Wir waren froh, dass wir gleich zwei Nächte geblieben sind. Der Ausblick von der Terrasse ist ein Traum. Das Appartement war sauber und gut ausgestattet. Der Hot Tub konnte auf Anfrage ebenfalls genutzt werden. Die Kommunikation verlief reibungslos. Auf Nachrichten wurde schnell geantwortet. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Empfehlung!

Excellent logement!!! Une superbe maison, tout est à notre disposition. 2 cuisines, salles de bain, WC..... C'est une maison d'hôte, donc l'accueil et les prestations sont excellentes (notamment le petit déjeuné). Nous recommandons vivement, et si possible plusieurs jours sans souci. Le meilleur Airbnb de notre voyage

Sigrúns Höuschen ist sehr zu empfehlen. Lasst euch insbesondere vom nahe gelegenen Flugfeld nicht abschrecken: wir waren vier Nächte dort und haben keinen einzigen Flug mitbekommen. Das Höuschen liegt sehr ruhig mit tollem 180 Grad-Blick aus dem Wohn-/Esszimmer und ist absolut abgeschieden und ruhig. Die wenigen Häuser in der Nähe sind weit genug weg, so dass man die Einsamkeit sehr genießen kann. Nur ein Haus ist überhaupt in Sichtweite. Das Flugfeld sieht man nur von den Schlafzimmern aus. Wir waren zu fünft dort und haben die Tage sehr genossen. Zwei Schlafplätze sind in einer Gallerie direkt oberhalb vom Wohn-/Esszimmer. Man kann dort also nicht schlafen gehen, wenn unten noch gesessen und gesprochen wird. Aber das hat uns überhaupt nicht gestört und wir fanden es einfach rundherum schön. Für kalten oder nasse Tage gibt es einen großen Sack mit Legosteinen zum Spielen. WLAN mit guter Netzabdeckung ist auch vorhaben. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wiederkommen!

Definitely eat at the restaurant if you stay here! It was absolutely delicious and you can pet the cows while you’re there too. The room was very cozy and clean. Highly recommend it. A beautiful, quick stop on our journey.

Beautiful clean place in an idyllic setting. Linens are crisp and white and the bed is comfortable. The view is absolutely stunning. The host is super helpful and even arranged so we could get our laundry done even though we arrived late in the evening.

Sehr gemütliche, schön eingerichtete Unterkunft. Aufgrund eines angekündigten Schneesturms und gesperrter Straßen haben wir kurzfristig eine zweite Nacht gebucht. Weil das Wetter keine Unternehmungen zuließ, mussten wir einen Tag komplett in der Unterkunft verbringen. Da das Zimmer sehr geräumig und mit kleiner Küche, Fernseher und eigenem Bad ausgestattet ist, ließ es sich sehr gut aushalten. Die Küche hätte ein wenig gründlicher geputzt sein können (Krümel im Kühlschrank und Besteckschublade, die Gäste vor uns haben den Pfannenwender nicht richtig abgewaschen und Essensreste im Sieb der Spüle hinterlassen), davon abgesehen war alles sehr sauber. Die Umgebung ist wunderbar und bei gutem Wetter hat man einen tollen Blick vom Balkon aus. Dazu ist Stefán ein sehr sympathischer, freundlicher Gastgeber und hat uns herzlich empfangen. Wir kommen gerne wieder :)

Endroit Très intime sur une ferme fabuleuse. Chevaux dans des pacages très proche du logement. Situé à 30 minutes de Myvatn et le détour en vaut grandement la peine. Très bien équipé et des hôtes très sympathiques. Coucher de soleil et belle vue. séjour inoubliable pour l'endroit autant que pour les chevaux. Beaucoup de choses à visiter à 30-40 minutes. Je recommande chaudement.

Akureyri Backpackers is right in the heart of the town. Almost everything is within a walkable distance.

The guesthouse is so lovely! Everything is really thoughtfully designed for travelers with a hotel-quality room and fully stocked, large, communal kitchen. I was so grateful to do a load of laundry on our travels and meet the 3 adorable bunny rabbits on the property.

We had the 3rd floor location Hrimland's place, and it had a nice view of the harbor and was very spacious. It was immaculately clean and well laid out. The location is fantastic; a quick 5 mins walk to Akureyri center, with restaurants and coffee shops. On our last day we walked to the botanical gardens from here, which we highly recommend - a botanical oasis at 66' N! All in all Akureyri was one of our favorite places from our week-long visit to Iceland, and we used it as a base to do the Diamond Circle (including Husavik). Very highly recommended! Barry and Jen
