Welcome to my secluded, peaceful hideaway. The studio is a large open plan space. Large sliding doors completely open up the front of the building onto the deck, giving you a feeling of always being close to nature. Surrounded by trees, orchard, lawn and garden, the studio is a quiet retreat space. The sound of the sea and bird song are always in the background. It's 50m from our house and well hidden by trees, so you'll feel very private. The best beach in NZ is a 15 minute walk away!

My place is close to beaches, bush and the famous Motu cycle way. You’ll love my place because of the friendly welcome, the little extras AND the comfy bed!! Only 2 hours driving from either Tauranga, Rotorua or Gisborne - a good resting point. Lovely quiet cottage set on lifestyle block with many chickens and sheep. 3 minutes driving to fabulous Waiotahi beach and only 10 minutes into Opotiki for cafes and shopping. Peace and tranquility - leave the city behind.

Surrounded by the bush, our unique cosy studio is a welcome retreat. Breakfast and good coffee is provided for our guests. Situated at the top of a hill with good views. We are within walking distance to the beautiful Nga Tapuwai o Toi walking track, 5 mins drive to Ohope beach and Whakatane town. Listen to the call of native birds, including Kiwi. We had an unforgettable stay at Annie and Tautini’s peaceful and beautifully maintained home. It struck the perfect balance between feeling like a welcoming home and being a private, self-contained retreat. The view over the lush garden and surrounding landscape was stunning — a joy to wake up to each day. The hot tub was a dream after long hikes, and the location couldn’t be better: just six minutes from Ōhope Beach with plenty of scenic trails nearby. Annie and Tautini were incredibly thoughtful hosts — their recommendation to try Cigol, the Korean restaurant in town, was spot on. What made the experience truly special was the way they generously shared their time and knowledge about pounamu, local sites, and cultural traditions. We felt deeply privileged and blessed to have stayed here. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

I booked last minute, Catherine had great coms straight away. We arrived late and Catherine was there to greet us and if we needed extra blankets or anything else we needed. Beautiful little place with all you need. The bed was very comfy and had a good nights rest. The shower had good water pressure also. Would definitely stay again next time we are back.
