At the foot of Mt. Insect Kura, at an altitude of 800 meters, rice terraces, and tin roofs, there is an old house in a small village with nostalgic scenery right in front of you. It was built in the late Edo period, and it was opened in the early Meiji period.I have relocated since I liked the presence, settlement, and location of the house itself, including the thick pillar, and since then I've built up self renovation.It is constructed using old wood to preserve the historical texture. The floorboards are reuse of chestnut wood and rice shelves laying under the tatami mats.The paved stone from the garden is a Goemon bath, and the warehouse used in Nagaya Gate is reused at the entrance. I spend the summer with only a fan.On the other hand, I think there is a creaky wind in the winter and it feels very cold, but it is also one of the things that I would like to experience is the creative way to live a little warm, such as a self-built ondol (floor heating) and a Goemon bath. A two-story, one-building private accommodation facility, "Akagane no Yume", finished as a space where you can feel the passage of time. There is a "Rokkaku-do Hall" on the premises, which guests can use freely. The Rokkaku-do Hall is a facility created with the concept of a space for artists, with a projector and screen permanently installed on the first floor, a corridor-style gallery on the second floor, and a view of the entire warehouse from the rooftop. There are four warehouses lined up east-west, and Warehouse 3 is open as "Cafe Kura Hachi". You can enjoy delicious coffee, herbal tea, handmade sweets, etc. Warehouse 4 has a shop that sells ceramics that have been stored in the warehouse during the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras, and you can also buy nostalgic ceramics and glass products.
