Smoking friendly holiday rentals in Truckee River

the host is very friendly and the place is private and quite, suitable for stay, but not suitable for cooking, no cover for a single small pan.

My husband and I had stayed at Cynthia's place several times before and always had a great experience. As I was traveling to the area by myself for the first time, I was happy to see that her place was available for the dates I needed for my grandson's high school graduation party. Cynthia is a great communicator both before and during the stay. This has always been may experience with her. I feel like she is an old friend now. I appreciate the snacks and well stocked coffee/tea station. My little dog and I had a great stay. Thank you, Cynthia! I will definitely be back!

Spacious, clean, modern unit that can sleep 6 (one of the queen beds is a murphy bed) and very convenient location. Would stay again!

Quiet and comfortable. Perfect for a night away

Right off the highway & immediately able to get in after driving for 27hrs

We had a great stay at Ian’s 2-bedroom condo in Tahoe. The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Ian was an excellent host—super responsive and thoughtful. We asked if there was a kettle for hot water, and he immediately ordered one for us with same-day delivery. That kind of attentiveness really stood out. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Beautiful home by the lake with lots of room and a lovely spa. The bathrooms were all stocked and the kitchen had good utensils. Check-out is 10am which was a little rough but we made it! would definitely recommend this place to others.

Peaceful and private. Thought the train might bother me but it was pleasant to hear in the AM and I quickly fell back to sleep. Loved the deer hanging around the property. Comfortable bed and the bath towels were super soft. Donna was very nice and it was a pleasure to meet her.

Walt was a wonderful host. Always quick to respond to any message. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in his beautiful home. The open floor plan was fantastic because we were always together whether cooking or just watching TV. It was perfect for our family. Thank you for allowing us to visit Tahoe.

Dawnda made us an amazing banana bread, she was amazingly helpful, and accommodating. She is a down to earth easy to get along with host that we instantly became friends with. The home and area are beautiful.

5 stars! Justin’s cabin was the perfect getaway! The place was clean, cozy, and full of thoughtful touches that made our stay unforgettable. The hot tub was a dream after a day of exploring — so relaxing under the stars. The fire pit was a huge hit too; we loved roasting marshmallows and telling stories by the fire. The cabin is stocked with games for kids, which kept everyone entertained and made it feel so family-friendly. It’s tucked away in a quiet, peaceful area, perfect for disconnecting and recharging. Plus, the hot shower was amazing — strong pressure and plenty of hot water, which isn’t always a given in cabin stays. Justin was a fantastic host — responsive, welcoming, and thoughtful. We’re already looking forward to our next stay. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend! The hosts were amazing (helping out, very responsive, yet discreet). We loved the balcony at tree level. It felt like being in a tree house. The house decorations take you to a unique atmosphere. It reminded us of Costa Rica and Big Island! Super clean. Big jaccuzi. Very close to Auburn center as well. We'll have to go back someday! I recommend the trail "Black Hole of Calcutta Falls Trailhead", about 15mn drive away. Free parking, beautiful views, many access to the river. Unusual green rocks. River was strong, so we couldn't do kayaking or bathing, but awesome anyways. More trails around I wish we had explored. We also tried Granite Bay Beach at Folsom lake. That was not for us. Way too crowded. To make it short: unique and great place, in beautiful surroundings!

We had a great time at Marissa’s place. She provided all the instructions upfront. Great views of lake, there are couple of door exits towards the front side. It’s a nice spot for morning coffee or sunset with great lake views.

The location was perfect, and the little touches throughout the house showed how much care the host puts into making guests feel welcome. Communication was easy and responsive—such a kind and thoughtful host. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, well-kept place to stay!
