We have inherited this house and have been protecting it by gradually restoring the neglected garden over the past 10 years. There is no TV in Shirakamado. Instead, I enjoy making tea, gazing at the garden, reading books, and spending time with family and friends. Over 80 varieties of plants and trees grow in the garden, and the tea blossoms once cultivated by tea ceremony masters are once again in bloom.On the natural stone terrace, you can enjoy reading or a cup of tea without worrying about being seen. The tea room still retains the meticulous work of Kyoto artisans, and quiet, peaceful time flows there.
