We had such a wonderful stay at Meylin and Bernard’s cabin! From the moment we arrived, Meylin was incredibly friendly and responsive. When our car unexpectedly needed a jump, Bernard was at our door within minutes, happy to help — we were so grateful for their kindness and hospitality. The property itself is unbelievable. The cabin is perfectly situated with the raw jungle behind you and a charming farm filled with all kinds of animals in front. If you love nature and animals, this place is a dream. During our stay, we saw so many sloths (including one right outside the bedroom window!) that we felt no need to join any of the sloth tours in town — the wildlife literally came to us! Overall, this was the perfect romantic escape and an ideal base for exploring La Fortuna’s breathtaking sights and hot springs. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and peaceful experience surrounded by nature.

Beautiful place! We could not have been happier with this cabin. Only thing I would say is make sure you turn right leaving here, because the road is difficult going the other way. It was very clean, safe, and a gorgeous location.

Ok el lugar y el anfitrión son perfectos el problema es que dice San Ramón y tal vez les pase como a mí nos lo imaginamos como cerca de san Ramón centro pero no! Literalmente es peñas blancas está como a 20 o 25 min de la fortuna entonces si piensan en algo como más cerca es complicado porque se dura más de 3 horas desde San José. Entonces para que lo tomen en cuenta pero vale totalmente la pena! La cabaña el río, todo genial la verdad

This house is incredible. It’s in a great spot, feels very private and tucked into nature. It was perfectly clean and felt very new. Very good value for money. The driveway is quite steep, so our 2WD with poor power struggled a bit, but most cars would be fine. Would recommend this place to anyone traveling to the area.

We can’t thank Jonathon enough!!!! He was incredibly helpful. Very responsive. He helped arrange a few different excursions while we were in La Fontana and they were amazing. He also gave us some recommendations for restaurants which was extremely helpful because there are so many choices it was hard to know which ones were good and Soda restaurants (in Costa Rica means local authentic places) were they best !!! I highly recommend this place it’s secluded for privacy but close enough to go for a 10 walk and be right in the thick of everything. I would give him 10 stars if it were possible. 😀

My wife and I chose this unit for our honeymoon, the space was extremely beautiful and lush. The giant windows opening up into the La fortuna jungle was breathtaking. We spent every evening in the jacuzzi listening to the wildlife and sounds of La fortuna. Fernando had great recommendations and was very friendly. We’re looking forward to returning to this special place.

This cabin is so special. Relaxation just takes over your body from the minute you enter the property. The caretaker and his wife are amazing, too. They really look out for you and make sure you have all that you need. Definitely take Louisa up on preparing your meals- the food is delicious 😋

Die Unterkunft gehörte zu einen meiner Highlights in Costa Rica. Die Aussicht auf den Dschungel vom Bett, von der Hängematte, von dem Whirlpool ist traumhaft. Ich konnte jeden Tag sehr viele unterschiedliche Vögel beobachten. Ich wurde sehr herzlich von Lizbeth empfangen, die mir am nächsten Morgen auch eine private Führung durch den "Garten" anbot. Ich habe das Angebot genutzt und mir Frühstück / Abendessen liefern lassen. Beides war sehr lecker und preiswert. Vielen Dank für das tolle Erlebnis und die Gastfreundschaft! :-)

J’ai beaucoup aimé mon séjour à la casita. C’est rudimentaire mais fidèle à la description. Ça été un lieu de ressourcement pour moi. Le lieu est un peu compliqué à trouver: il faut se rendre proche avec les coordonnés GPS puis suivre les indications des hôtes indiqués dans les spécifications et alors: il n’y aura pas de problème. J’ai passé un superbe moment avec Andy et Angy: j’ai même soupé avec eux et ils ont été très accueillants. Le déjeuner était exquis et j’ai dégusté avec plaisir leurs produits faits maison et ce qu’ils cultivent avec passion. Ils m’ont fait d’excellents suggestions d’itinéraire et j’ai pu découvrir des routes fabuleuses et un endroit où me baigner dans l’eau turquoise. C’était magique. Je recommande +++ cet endroit pour y séjourner. Le seul hic est l’absence de wifi et l’absence de réseau à la casita. il faut être dans leur maison pour y avoir accès avec le wifi. Cela aide au ressourcement et à déconnecter par contre 😊. Je pouvais venir quand je voulais.

Beautiful!! It was exactly what we were looking for and had a view of the volcano too. Description mentions we might see some bugs because it’s in nature but we didn’t see any! Super clean and the bed was so big and comfortable! Also Melania provided great local recommendations and it was very easy to find. We definitely would stay here again and recommend it!

La cabaña hermosa, el lugar muy privado y tranquilo. Olger excelente anfitrión, atento y en la cabaña había de todo lo necesario para cocinar! Quizás lo único que no me percaté es que no hay TV pero, en la descripción no estaba peor quizás sea importante el detalle para otras personas.

Perfect place to stay near La Fortuna. Exceptionally clean, unbelievably beautiful property. We loved everything about our stay as well as the cheap food options right down the road.

Tres Jolie cabane au milieu de la nature et d’un petit village complètement isolé. Il faut effectivement une voiture 4*4 pour y arriver! On y a entendu des singes hurleurs et vu des singes araignées et des écureuils dans les arbres! Entendu plein d’oiseaux mais pas vu de toucans . L’aménagement est simple mais très fonctionnel! Bien placé pour la marche du Rio Celeste! Merci pour l’organisation et le partage de votre petit nid.

A beautiful, private feeling accommodation in a very safe location which is easily walkable to restaurants and shops. You will feel secluded in nature with the birds and the squirrels but also have all the conveniences and comforts you want. Silvia was really responsive and let me into the accommodation as soon as it was ready which helped with my early arrival. Note that although the place is quite private there is a soccer field not far which sometimes had people there quite late so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

Brandon and his mother were out of a fairytale the kindest most genuine hosts I have ever met. If you want to fully immerse yourself in the ambience and culture of Costa Rica this is exactly what you want! You are able to fully be in the peace and nature of the rain forest and his mother took us out one night to show us frogs from their decorative pond! His mother also brought us an authentic Costa Rican breakfast with eggs from their chickens, homemade traditional rice, beans and tortillas with a slice of homemade cheese from their cows they milk daily. The location is perfect to be central for day trips and the town has the kindest people we met in Costa Rica. This experience was truly magical and the best place that we stayed in Costa Rica! I hope to come back again to specifically see Brandon and his family! You can’t ask for better hosts or experience in my opinion.

What a lovely little spot! It was a little tricky to find at one of the turns, but easy after venturing up the hill a little further. 4x4 not needed despite the look of it. Felt safe and had great amenities for overnight. Coffee and sugar was available, as well as cold tap water in the fridge on arrival. Very peaceful and within close distance to a couple little restaurants. HIGHLY recommend going to El Rincon Parrillero for a meal. The ribeye was insane and the best Birria tacos I had on my whole trip.

We’ve had a very relaxing stay at this place, we stayed for 1night and it was a very unique experience, being so close to the river and nature, we could see and hear many birds. We didnt mind the louder sounds of the river, and with the address link that Maria provided we easily found the place.

José and Dorita were very kind, we had a wonderful time exploring Monteverde from their location. We are avid birders and knocked a few goals off our list from the back porch. It is privately located, but we were in walking distance to a small grocery store and several great restaurants for dinner. The house itself is beautiful, with wonderful skylights and big windows for viewing the nature outside. Would recommend!

Esteban was a great host with a great hidden spot nestled right on the river. Check in was easy, the place was quiet and safe and the host’s family even took my 8 yr old daughter in their house to meet the baby cows and all the dogs. Great people, good location 10 mins to La Fortuna but far enough away from the touristy district to be quiet and dark at night. Will be back

Esmeralda’s place was exactly what we needed for our quick stop near La Fortuna. We started with a hike so we were a little late to check in, but she was ready for us. She showed us where to park and greeted us with her adorable dogs. The view is outstanding and the place was very clean. A great place to stay for anyone visiting the Arenal Volcano area!

Great, with a few caveats. All the previous reviews are true. We had a blast and enjoyed being in nature. The view from the pool is amazing, and the location is about 20 minutes outside of tourist-packed La Fortuna. Jorge was incredibly responsive, helpful, and kind. It's also worth noting: 1) Home is in the opposite direction from most activities outside La Fortuna. The Arenal Volcano (55 min), Mistico Hanging Bridges (50 min), and hot springs (30 mins), are on the other side of the town. Depending on your schedule, you may drive a lot. 2) The cabin is rustic. If you're looking for a 5-star hotel experience, this isn't it. We stayed at several Airbnb's in Costa Rica and this one was the least "fancy." 3) As described in the review, there's one bathroom, and one shower. Showering after the pool or a long day out can take a while to coordinate. 4) There's no living room. The main room has a couch, kitchen, and a dining table. It's a compact cabin. 5) Pool is small and +/-3 ft deep.

This was the perfect oasis we didn’t realize we needed until we were there. The accommodations were lovely & comfortable, but the property was bird-watching heaven for us!! (We also saw cows, wild hogs, steer, skinks/lizards, and friendly neighborhood dogs and cats among other animals). It was awesome!! The bed was comfortable, ac perfect & shower was heavenly! We also enjoyed the hot tub & picnic table several times & they were great amenities. The property was easy to find, clean, well appointed, we felt safe & absolutely loved our stay!! There are several good restaurants/dining options nearby as well. We’d stay again in a heart beat! Thanks for letting us stay, Wendy!!

Rosi's place is the best! We had a wonderful time in the area. We saw Tucans and parrots flying by and a surprise Tapir when we were eating at the nearby brewery. Definitely would stay again
