We had a great stay, the cottage more than met our expectations and the pictures do not do it justice. It is so peaceful. Well equipped and lots of options and space to spread a family out within the cottage. We enjoyed sitting outside each morning for breakfast with the birds and the lambs. The separate bathrooms for each room and the two dining tables came in really convenient.

Albert House

My girlfriend and I planned a lovely getaway in this cottage, and we were not disappointed in the slightest. The house itself was beautiful. Everything was lovely and well kept. The surrounding area had lots of interesting places nearby to explore and the village itself was super friendly and welcoming. We loved it. This is a perfect escape from your busy everyday. The house and the location really allow you to take in the little moments and focus on the present. I know I speak for both my girlfriend and I when I say we won’t easily forget this beautiful home and village.

Beautiful and super cozy! Helen's barn is nothing short of wonderful! Cozy, private, and extremely well stocked, it is a gem of a place tucked away in the foothills. There is everything you could ever want or need and more, and the effort Helen has put in to ensuring guests feel at home and fully informed of the surrounding area is immense, you will never be short of things to do, especailly if you're a fan of exploring the great Welsh countryside! Returning to the barn, especially after a cold wet day, was pure joy, the log burner, fairy lights, a shower straight out of heaven, and a very comfy bed is exactly what you need! Helen is lovely and incredibly accommodating, I only wish we had had more time to chat and hear about her experiences, adventures and seemingly endless family! (2 brothers is quite enough for me 😂) Thank you Helen for such a wonderful time, and all the gate openings also!! I hope to be back soon :)

Beverley was an excellent host that communicated with ease and attentiveness. The place is just lovely and they have done a great job with the space they have and a lovely little seating are to add to the charm. It has its own entrance and feels very private and secure. Would recommend for sure and will be very returning in the future. Thank you

Fantastic location in the countryside. Exactly as described, a great place for hikers to get out into the surrounding nature. Siân was a fantastic, flexible and responsive host. Would 100% stay there again and recommend for anyone looking for a cosy place to stay on the doorstep of the Black Mountain

Wow, what a beautiful home and location, we started relaxing the minute me arrived. Claire happened to be there along with Pippin her wonderful playful dog, she was really friendly and couldn't be more welcoming. The pictures of the house didn't to it justice, it was a home from home and so cosy. There were so many extras supplied, eggs from her chickens, milk, bread, kitchen staples, nibbles, various teas & coffees the list is endless and not at all expected. Helga and Gretal the Pygmy goats and the newly arrived orphaned lambs were such delights to see and hear about their progress. The summer house had amazing views and was lovely to sit in during the evening. There were lots of games / books so you certainly could keep entertained. There was a booklet with places of interest which was informative along with the best way to walk to the pub. Claire was a fantastic host, cannot recommend staying here highly enougn. Pen-y-Graig Cottage With log burner & pool table

MeganRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Lovely, spacious cottage at the start of the Black Mountain Pass. The pool table was a hit with the kids. Lorraine was great and even let the children help feed her animals, which they loved. We used the cottage as a base to explore both the Brecon Beacons and the beaches near Mumbles. The cafe in the visitor centre at the bottom of the hill does a superb breakfast too.
