We and our two puppies throughly enjoyed our weekend away at the Old Copper Shed. The farm was peaceful, quiet with amazing sunrises and sunsets. The unique copper aesthetic was one to remember and I would highly recommend the stay to anyone looking for a little sho’t left on the weekend. Bring your pets with as ours loved the freedom of the open veld. Thank you to Adriaan for the great hospitality.

My friend and I recently stayed at your cottage near Nottingham Road, and we wanted to express how perfect it was for our needs. We were looking for a quiet place to catch up and spend time outdoors, without being too far from the hub of restaurants/shops and bars. The cottage had everything we needed, including super comfortable beds, a cosy fireplace, and breathtaking views. I will definitely visit again and highly recommend this tranquil stay! We stay at Christine's every year on our way to Limpopo - it's on the edge of town, feels like the countryside - a warm welcome, good coffee, milk, all the small things that make it a standout place to stay.

We had a lovely stay. The walk to the cave paintings was a lot of fun. There was more to do on the farm than we anticipated. We could have spent the whole weekend there without going out. That being said, its close to Bethlehem, Clarens and the Golden Gate Highlands Park, and we made full use of that. Will have to come back to explore the farm to its fullest.

Absolutely loved staying here. My girlfriends and I needed time away from the city, to relax and have a mini staycation and the honey cottage allowed us to have that experience! Definitely coming back

We had an unforgettable stay at Lake Zonk in the breathtaking Drakensberg mountains. Nestled right on the lake’s edge, the views were absolutely stunning – especially during sunrise and sunset, with the crisp air and golden light ushering in the winter season. The accommodation was spot-on for a mountain retreat – cozy, warm, and thoughtfully equipped with plenty of blankets and heaters to keep us snug. The fireplace, both inside and outside, added that extra touch of magic and made evenings feel truly special. One small frustration was the number of flies around – likely due to the season – so next time we’ll come prepared with something to keep them at bay. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Highly recommend this spot for anyone wanting to unwind in nature with unbeatable views and homely comfort. We’ll definitely be back!

Our stay at this guest house was nothing short of magical. My wife and I, along with our two Boston Terriers, celebrated our first wedding anniversary here in Val, where we also got married. The setting is serene and idyllic, with large trees, lush green grass, and the peaceful presence of cows and a donkey named 'Valie', grazing nearby. Sitting on the large patio and watching squirrels play under the trees added a charming touch. The vintage, farm-inspired decor makes the space feel cozy and inviting. We loved how relaxing it was, and being just a short walk from the Val Hotel was a bonus. We dined there twice, and the home-made burgers and pizza were absolutely delicious! This guest house offered us the perfect blend of relaxation and nostalgia. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful getaway!

My fourth stay so far. Clearly my family and I love spending time at Kathleen's place. We got to spend some time very close to the cows which my kids enjoyed thoroughly. Already planning my next girls trip there. Kathleen is just the best host & we love her tons!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the farm! Duncan and Marcel were welcoming and friendly hosts, the accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the farm atmosphere was calm and peaceful. We, especially our daughter, had a fun time seeing the wide variety of farm animals. This place is definitely on our list of must-visit-again!

Poppet is very friendly, very helpful. Her staff is brilliant, they went above and beyond what we needed and did not hesitate to assist. The house is beautiful internally as well as the surrounding landscape. We had booked for one night but extended our stay an extra night due to how lovely an experience it was.

It’s always a pleasure to stay at Orchard Manor. If you’re an animal and nature lover this place will not disappoint. We were accompanied by two very friendly cats, briefly greeted by a herd of Zebra and always surrounded by stunning views of the mountains.

Robyn is the most friendly and responsive host I have dealt with. The property is amazing and wonderfully private. Great open areas for the kids to play and a game of Rugby was awesome on the lawn. We enjoyed the friendly horses and beautiful cows and the kids loved the chicken coop. The house was amazing loads of areas to braai with a large wrap around veranda and a fantastic pizza oven. All bedrooms look onto the mountain and were a good size. Huge kitchen and lovely herb garden. Royce the farm manager was lovely and helpful. The games room was a win. Kirsten the farm manager as even posted back a few items my teenager left behind - such amazing hassle free service. Thank you were had an amazing stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and fresh on arrival. We appreciated the daily cleaning and Sylvia was extremely helpful. The position of the property was private but also gave easy access to the pool and tennis courts. We really enjoyed the amazing views. We also enjoyed the location as we could walk and enjoy the surrounding area. We will definitely return to this gem!

De Rust cottage and surrounding mountains exceeded our expectations! We had an unforgettable weekend with special friends in the cosy house…with more than enough beds with supersoft bedding… and unimaginable views. We will definitely be back. Thank you Corlia for being a lovely host. The house had everything we needed and more…and the seating outside was soothing to the soul. We loved watching the horses, played cricket and explored the farm on foot. Excellent mountain sanctuary to recharge, reset and realign.

Beautiful sandstone farmhouse and adjacent accommodation, on a farm in the eastern Free State. Looks out over attractive garden and werf, with wide verandah. Lindie was super helpful and welcoming as was their farm manager. Very comfortable, very clean and very cosy and well equipped.

We had a beautiful peaceful time, the cottage was just the perfect size for our family. The view is spectacular and the walks lovely. We loved the dogs coming to visit and taking us on the walk. Will definitely go back.

We so enjoyed our stay, the accommodation, location and surroundings were perfect. Stu & Ali were wonderful hosts and very welcoming. We were made to feel like old friends and will definitely be back again.

We spent a lovely relaxing weekend at Saligna Dam View Guest House. The cottage was clean and was depicted as seen in the photos. Colleen always responded promptly to queries and was very considerate in permitting us to check in earlier than we had expected. Very tranquil setting looking at the birds on the dam and it was very private. When outdoors you could hear some cars passing on tar road but it didn’t distract from the peaceful environment. Not much to do in area but wonderful place to relax. Also convenient place between Jhb and Durban to catchup with family. We look forward to staying here again
