Johanna's place is a real oasis. There were many things that made it feel so: sleeping so close to the river, being able to wake up and walk down to the water, cooking in the open kitchen with a view, finding stillness in the garden so easily, practicing movement in the open shala while enjoying all the shades of green, the singing birds, the howling monkeys... Johanna was helpful and responsive in preparation of and during my stay. Her recommendations were spot on. I was also able to take a yoga class with her and other locals, which was really nice. The location is really good too: isolated enough from the busyness, but close to Guadalajara, Nuevo Arenal and Tilaran. This place is a hidden gem, I cannot believe how lucky I was to stumble upon it here. If you're doubting whether to book a stay here, just do it.

A hidden gem between trees and affection We had an unforgettable weekend in this corner of peace in Panama. From the first moment, Fernando and Mariel welcomed us as if we were old friends. Their warmth, their life stories, and the love with which they have built this space are felt in every corner of the place. The nearby river, the song of the birds and the tranquility of the environment make this place a true refuge from the daily noise. But what really makes this experience special is the energy that they have sown over the years: a mixture of hospitality, simplicity and soul. More than a home, it's a human experience. We were recharged, smiling, and full heart. Thank you so much Fernando and Mariel. This will not be our last meeting.

Absolutely incredible house in the cloud forest of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Amazing architecture with breathtaking views of Santa Marta and the Caribbean Sea. If you are looking for a private secluded spot to check out and really enjoy natural surroundings this is definitely the place to go. Short drive to the awesome mountain town of Minca with lots of hiking..great restaurants..and laid back vibe. Esteban was onsite to greet us and overly accommodating. Incredible guy who was there to assist in any way possible. One recommendation..if you are renting a vehicle ensure you have a 4X4 for the last mile up the mountain road to his house. I was able to make it with a smaller suv but have experience in driving those types of conditions so not recommended. You can also park at the base and get a ride up if you prefer. Highly recommend booking this place and will go back!!!

As announced by the comments of previous guests that I have read, Luc and Cloguette's house is a paradise... And this is mainly due to the exceptional qualities of Luc and Cloguette. Two angels descended from heaven to live life to the fullest and share their savoir vivre, savoir être and their kindness... The world class... The kind of encounter that everyone should be able to have once in their life... A deep source of inspiration. I felt like I was at my parents' or grandparents' house... I give 5/5, but I think there is room for 7/5. The hospitality of these hosts is so great that we forget the small details that could have made the space even more attractive. But as I said above, it's like visiting family. I will certainly return on my next stay, hoping that this golden couple will not be forced to leave the country because of the security situation.

Excellent cabin with great accommodations and beautiful views. The hot tub was very relaxing and functioned perfectly, it also had a beautiful view of the lake. Comfortable beds and linen. The cabin has a unique and special design. Manuel was very responsive and attentive to all of our needs. Highly recommended if you are visiting the area.

We felt very comfortable right away. Were warmly welcomed and brought over the river by jeep. The food was excellent ! In the middle of nature is right next to the property that small family restaurant, Laurence cooks for guests and from mom there is the delicious jam for breakfast. Next door is the river where you can swim. The family has 2 horses and dogs that are usually very relaxed in the sun. It's a little oasis in the middle of the jungle. We really enjoyed it! Believe all of the 5-star reviews! Malekus Mountain Lodge is pure magic. We were a family of ten ranging in age from 75 to 11, and couldn’t have asked for a better base for our Costa Rican adventures. Each couple had their own room and bathroom which were very clean and comfortable, even without A/C. Fans were provided in every room and it cooled down considerably at nighttime. The communal space, living room and pool area are amazing, and the gardens, trails, bridges and ponds are absolutely stunning. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to have the place all to ourselves and experience the hospitality of Roger and Rosie and their dog, Bruno. They were wonderful hosts, providing delicious breakfasts, insights into the flora and fauna, and recommendations for restaurants, activities and guides that truly felt authentic - we were usually the only North Americans around. Being conversational in Spanish is helpful. Rent a 4WD and be ready for adventure!

The place in the guest room is really very well positioned. In the heart of a natural and private forest. It feels like a jungle. Services are very satisfactory

It's not easy for us to give 5 stars, it would have to be at least 10 stars. The family is so committed and extremely kind and helpful, it can't be put into words how great our stay there was. Everything is lightning clean, the food with the home grown fruits and vegetables is fantastic and José Carlos and his family are responsive at all times and more than just helpful. The excursions, to cayo jutia, the horseback ride through the tobacco plantations and especially the trip to the neighboring farm was the highlight for us!!!!!(Ride the ox cart to the waterfalls... homemade coffee , mojito in the middle of the forest, and much more!!! )You didn't feel like a tourist, but like a part of the family. This place is more than highly recommended. We couldn't find a comparable place to stay all over Cuba. Just a dream of super well-kept pool, everything tip-top. We miss you!!!! Rodolfo's cottage and property are right by Cahuita Park. Even before you arrive, you get a lot of information about where. Arrived, his girlfriend and Manfred & Luna (his dogs) greeted us. Everything was very nice and you should know that they sleep right in the jungle! Howler monkeys, sloths and insects incl. The breakfast was always homemade, typical of the country and fresh - Rodolfo likes to surprise his guests. The coffee is just delicious and as much as you can... You also have privacy, Rodolfo sleeps 50m further in your own house and is around the house from time to time. If not, he's on tour because he's a guide; which we didn't know before. You should take a canoe trip on the river or a night hike through its extensive property. All in all a perfect place to immediately enjoy nature in the Caribbean. Pura Vida

The best stay to rest and enjoy with family and friends. It was very easy to get to, the place was very clean, the rooms super well equipped and very comfortable. Fernanda and her team were amazing, they helped us with everything we needed. Super recommended the place, we will definitely be back.
