The Black Horse Farm Vacation Home

Great, communicative hosts. Check in process was easy. We loved how private it was too. We loved being able to hang out much of the time under the wrap around porch while it rained and at night. House perfectly met our needs

Rustic Stone Guest House

JohnRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a wonderful stay at Bill's place! He generously offered us a free upgrade from our original booking and cooked us a wonderful 5 course dinner on the house. He even gave us a bottle of wine to take back with us and gave us eggs from his chickens when we checked out. The property is beautiful and has lots to explore, including a tree house, hedge maze, and a trail through the woods. It was perfect for our dog to explore with us. We highly recommend staying here. Thanks again for everything Bill!

Drennen Ridge Farm Guest House

LilyRating, 5 stars2 months ago
A phenomenal stay! The place was SO clean and way more beautiful than pictured. Beds were comfortable, soaps/shampoos and towels were SUPER PLENTIFUL. Mike and Trish's hospitality was the best we've ever experienced at ANY AirBnB. Mike even spent a long time helping us install our bike rack in the dark because we were really struggling! They delivered a crock pot and tweezers (a child got a splinter) within minutes of us asking. Talk about customer service! We LOVED feeding their horses and our kids had the BEST time playing with their puppy. This was definitely the low key retreat we needed to get away from the hectic hustle and bustle of DC. Their location was wonderful for a 20 mile RT bike ride and hikes in numerous parks. We will definitely return again, it was a perfect weekend!

Spectacular views. Well-stocked apartment (everything you could possibly need). Super friendly hosts. The long gravel road and driveway can be a bit of a challenge, so leave your Corvette at home and bring the Jeep.

Gorgeous Guesthouse at Five Springs Farm

MaraRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This place was amazing! The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is stunningly beautiful. It is peaceful and calming. I loved hearing the birds and being able to see the an astounding number of stars as there are not lights anywhere near by. Pam is a fabulous host. She took us on a tour of her farm and talked with us about her journey and her hopes for going forward. I would absolutely stay here again!!

Lost River Bunkhouse Barn, dog-friendly + hot tub

AntonioRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My family really enjoyed our stay. It's definitely an off the grid kinda stay. So worth it to put the phone down and enjoy this gem in the woods. The place was well stocked and recently updated. Hot tub was a big added plus! Its definitely a haul from Indiana, but if we are ever in the area again we will be back!!

Mystic Pond Cabin-Dark History!

KristinRating, 5 stars1 day ago
This place was amazing! Perfect location, felt really secluded and private but was convenient to get to anything we wanted to do. This cabin was exactly what I would dream up if I created a cabin, all the cute witchy details and thoughtful touches everywhere. It rained quite a lot on our visit but we spent a lot of time on the porch watching the birds and chipmunks, and it was exactly what we needed. So peaceful! The house was so clean, the shower fabulous, and beds comfy. Sherri was so helpful, made sure we had what we needed and gave us good suggestions on things to do in the area. And warned us about a bear in the area- lol- thankfully we did not encounter the bear but did see plenty of deer. We absolutely did not want to leave, and are already scoping out dates to return.

Shepherd's View: Now with Starlink

DeniseRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Our 9 day stay was everything we could have hoped for and more. Jeremy and Brenna were very responsive and friendly while giving us our space. I cannot emphasize enough the privacy this rental provides, plus, all the birding I was able to do on the deck as it was peak spring migration. It was spacious and our 4 year old Corgi, Barney, felt comfortable from day 1. Everything was clean and neat, and I loved the "sheep" theme. The swing down the way has an amazing overlook although we had mostly cloudy evenings so we missed out on a sunset. I think the icing on the cake is renting from local residents. We are so drawn to West Virginia and Appalachian culture (I'm from there), and everything we encountered was true to my roots. Also, there are so many one lane backroads we traveled, which is always an adventure as you never know what treasures await. Lovely people, lovely place, lovely getaway. We'll be back!

Farmhouse with a view

DonnaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Loved the house and the peaceful country setting. It was located near all the sites we wanted to visit. Garrett was always quick to respond. He was kind enough to message us on the first day that the house was available to check in earlier but we were not arriving until later in the day. Everything was clean and house was very spacious for 4 adults There were snacks in a basket provided for us upon our arrival. If I ever return to this area again, I would definitely want to stay here

LabOUR of Love Lodge. BRAND NEW, Rustic & Unique

FrancesRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Merry Jo's place was a beautiful, clean and comfortable mountain home with stunning views. It is extremely private and peaceful (I think we saw one vehicle during our stay), and a great place to relax, meditate, and refresh. True escape! We saw deer daily and enjoyed the hiking nearby. It is close to restaurants (Davis, WVa) but the kitchen was well-stocked and we did cook out a few times. Merry Jo is a wonderful host, and she is quick to answer all of our questions, etc. We highly recommend and hope to visit again in the near future.

‘Mountain View’ Country Log Cabin & Horse Motel

TinaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Our stay at this lovely home was nothing short of magical. It was spotless, beautifully maintained and felt like a true escape into nature. One of the highlights of our stay was freshly baked cinnamon rolls made by our host! The surrounding farm was an absolute delight. Whether is it was visiting the peacocks and chickens or giving the gentle horse a pet, every moment felt serene and special. We were there to celebrate our son’s graduation from WVU and it was an unforgettable experience. We will all cherish it for years to come. Cheers to Elisabeth for making it so special!

3BR Modern Cabin in the Woods + King Suite

KolleenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Wonderful beds! We had a SUPER RESTFUL and beautiful time at Leona’s place with not a worry at all. The home is peaceful, thoughtful, well cared for, well stocked, and Leona is a FAB HOST. Some airbnbs have everything except a great bed. I’ve stayed at at least a dozen really great airbnbs that I’ve given good reviews to but would never ever return to because everything was great except the beds. Fragile bed frames (one actually fell apart in an Airbnb we otherwise loved and we had to put it back together) lumpy, hard or old smelling mattresses, squeaky bedframes, thin old pillows and polyester sheets in summer. Please no. If you’re looking at the listing you can see that this is a beautiful home in a beautiful location. But if you’re also rocking a middle aged, sometimes sleep deprived body just know you can get a really good rest at Leona’s place. And you if it rains, instead of being bummed, you can just get back in bed.

NRG National Park is your neighbor at the Zen Box

HelenRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
My partner and I had a wonderful at the Zen Box! This is by far one of my favorite places I’ve stayed. Quiet, peaceful, unparalleled proximity to a national park, and a sweet little kitty visitor! Colleen was very detailed in instructions to the AirBnB and was very proactive in giving recommendations to the area. I also forgot something and she and Lisa were so helpful in getting it back to me! We will certainly be back again! Also - heating/cooling worked very well, comfy bed, and lots of pretty mountain laurel on the property :)

Abby's Lookout - Raised Retreat w/Hot Tub & WiFi

CaitlinRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Perfect place for a quick weekend away in Berkeley Springs! Close to town, but quiet. Gina's place is probably the most well-stocked and clean Airbnb we've ever encountered - all of the kitchen basics you'd ever need, plus other extras. Really enjoyed the hot tub and drinking our coffee on the deck. The cupcakes, wine, sparkling water, and note from Gina were a lovely touch. We tried the new restaurant in town she recommended, Proof, which was great.

Mill House scenic farm views minutes to Lewisburg

PaulRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
If you’re like us and prefer the privacy of a country getaway nearby to the amenities of a charming small town, then this is your place in the beautiful Lewisburg, WV area. A cozy and eclectic cabin filled with curiosities on a picturesque pastoral farm, the Mill House was the perfect location for our long holiday weekend. Whether swinging on the front porch or relaxing in bed, we enjoyed beautiful views of the rolling hills, curious cows, and farmers doing what farmers do. Lewisburg is only minutes away and easy to get to and from. Melissa and the rest of the welcoming party were delightful, informative and available throughout our stay. We will definitely be back and just hope that you’re not booking now for the same weekend!

Harpers Ferry Farmhouse, Heated Year Round Pool

ValerieRating, 5 stars4 days ago
This was such a wonderful home! As other reviewers said, lots of room for a big group to spread out. We had 8 guests. (6 adults and two kids) We explored Harpers Ferry and enjoyed hiking the Maryland Heights Trail. We felt absolutely comfortable hanging at this serene house for our mornings and evenings. Cooked most of our meals, played billiards, sang karaoke, and enjoyed the plunge pool. We had an epic round of hide and go seek. Great interior design and lots of space to spread out for quiet time, and many perfect reading nooks. Thanks Leigh, for being so responsive and friendly!

Whitetail Retreat

AngelaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This is a gorgeous home with plenty of space in a quiet area. Kara is a gracious hostess who is funny and tells great stories as she showed us the deer. The home is super clean and comfortable with plenty of extras like a coffee bar, corn hole boards and a fire pit. We were worried about it being “too rural” but there was a lot to do! Plenty of state parks around to hike and explore and each little town has something fun to offer (our favorite was the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum)! So many great places to eat around as well. We spent one whole day just relaxing at the house, playing games and cooking together. Kara’s kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials! You will love this place!

Cozy cottage near New River Gorge by Grandview

SusanRating, 5 stars3 days ago
We stayed at Kingfield Cottage overnight on our visit to New River Gorge NP. Gina’s property was perfect for a relaxing night after a long day driving and hiking. The location is only about a mile from Grandview Overlook which let us get a quick start to our second day in the park. The cottage was very comfortable and clean. If we are ever in the area again we would return to this property. Thanks Gina!
