Holiday rentals with a kayak in Winthrop

Great location. Woke up to the sounds of birds. very responsive. I would have given it a 5 star all the way, David was amazing and responded in a very timely manner. But, the turn over service could have been much better. The previous guest left a wine bottle in the automatic fridge ice dispenser and it was unfounded until my family found a large peice of glass in their drink, serious hazard to drink glass. Should have been spotted by the turn over service but, who would check the ice maker for a bottle a wine? I understand that. Very uncommon and unfortunate for us. David responded in a very fast manner and gave us options to accommodate the situation. I would have left a 5 star if this was the only thing but everything was so unorganized in the kitchen, they had everything but nothing made sense to why it was there. Sink didn't drain. There were also stains on the sheets and a pizza box left by the fridge that wasn't ours. Little things but the turn over service was a let down.

Justin’s house was spacious and clean and had everything we could need. The kitchen is fully equipped and when we were there it all seemed brand new. Beds are comfortable and the upstairs loft bedroom is a great space. Every amenity was provided! We were not able to take advantage of the lake due to the weather. We didn’t realize when we booked that the house is right off the road and is part of a cottage community development that is still being built. Nevertheless, it was peaceful and quiet and lovely to be steps from the lake and to be near so many places in central Maine. We highly recommend a stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful and quiet time of rest at The Rising Tides. The setting is absolutely serene. It’s very secluded and quiet, the perfect place for a week of rest and relaxation. We went hiking on the Cliff Trail (15 minutes away and a very nice hiking trail), watched the sunrise at the Lands End store on Bailey island (15-20 minutes), and kayaked in the cove. The grill was very nice and we enjoyed cooking on it regularly. The place was very clean and ready on our arrival. The host communicated very clearly. You will need to follow her driving directions as they are very clear and helpful. In our four days there we only saw 1 neighbor - and that was as we were leaving on the weekend. There’s a grocery store only 15 minutes away and we were able to stock up on our way there. Really, this was one of our favorite places we’ve ever stayed. We really enjoyed having a few options of things to do while also being able to just do nothing on our vacation in a quiet place.

If you want a private, well furnished home in the woods with fishing access on the stream and 2 fire pits this is your place!! Staying at this house made a work trip for my crew and I, feel like we were on vacation for 2 nights while staying there. Worth the money and great hosts!

We had a great week at the cabin! The view is amazing and it was so relaxing. Courtney was very responsive and attentive. Highly recommend for a cozy getaway in a beautiful setting.

My wife and I completely enjoyed our stay at Ani’s place. She literally thought of everything any guest could ever want. Beautiful surroundings…walking distance to the Fish Ladder….a couple of miles to all the restaurants downtown. And the place itself is immaculate. The kitchen was perfect for eating in every night. This place is an absolute no-brainer to rent and we can’t wait to return!!!

We stayed at the cottage for about a week in late September and it was a perfect spot to get away from it all. The house is on a serene pond with trees reflected on the water, classic Maine. The cottage was clean and well kept with most everything you’d need. It’s in a very quiet neighborhood, so not a party spot, which worked out fine for our quiet family. We’d consider coming back to visit family. Thank you for the comfortable stay!

Hillary's home was so cozy, beautiful, and just overall a wonderful place to visit. Beds super comfortable. Kitchen had everything you need and more. The view of the lake was so beautiful. I could go on and on.... Hillary is so easy to get along with. Answers all questions and gives great advice of the area and things to do and see. Overall Fantastic! Christ's local convience store has everything!! Our stay was terrific.

Mischele really thinks of a traveler when she sets up her place! The extra touch of orange juice, creamer, coffee, freshly baked breakfast is great! Everything is there. Convenient to many great restaurants.

Alana's home was more than we expected. The home was spotless and well equipped for our quick stay. She is very accommodating and responds to questions immediately. We would definitely stay again if we're in her area.

Loved our time here! It’s about a 40 minute drive from Portland and then 5-10 from Brunswick. The neighborhood is quiet and perfect, exactly what we needed to relax! We loved coming back from Portland and grabbing dinner and gelato in Brunswick, such a nice way to unwind from a long day. Highly recommend and would love to stay here again :)

Two things stood out to us: Tim and Melissa were fantastic hosts. Responsive, flexible, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. If anything, they kind of undersell the lakeshore. Beautiful, peaceful, and a large area. We were here too early in the season to take full advantage, but this must be heaven in the summer. Hope to come back during kayaking season.

Janet’s place in Standish was great and we could not have asked for a better host. Apart from the home itself, Janet was very friendly and responsive. She even proactively offered early check in / late check out, extremely unexpected and appreciated! Would absolutely recommend this BNB 10 times out of 10.

The cottage was so wonderful! The pictures did not do it justice, we appreciated the welcome bouquet made from her farms flowers! The grounds were so beautiful and peaceful. We wanted a relaxing getaway and that’s exactly what we got. The bed was so comfortable and we enjoyed the kayaks, fire pit, and bird watching! The location was far enough way for the privacy but a close drive to Portland and other must see locations. Jessica was responsive and communicative with any concerns. We cannot wait to come back and visit every season and cannot recommend the cottage enough!

Came for the Fall colors; left in love with the place! Small but delightful. Cluttered in the most fantastical way. Nestled in paradise. Bonnie is so nice and friendly! Pay attention to the fact that the toilet is not attached to house. Short walk to privet and very clean!

What an amazing hosts! When i check in they both came and visited and gave me a grand tour of things of the place. Showed where the lake was to kayak, recommended places to eat, and visited. Michael was quick to respond making sure i was doing great. I would totally go back and rent their place again! Thank you so much!

We had the most wonderful stay! We spent a week, celebrating our 15th anniversary, soaking in the views, enjoying the wild life and cozying up at the camp fire, enjoying one another’s company. The cabin was clean, stocked with necessities and perfectly decorated. The bed was comfortable and all the linens were clean, with very comfy pillows too! Lots of games were provided, and the view from the living room is stunning. You look right out onto the pond. We had some wildlife visit us, and a chipmunk we made friends with. Look for his little house entrance by the fire pit! He also loved perching on the cairns to watch us Explore the property and find some little hidden gems of beauty The locals were super friendly, Jon was very accommodating and responsive. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience Thank you so much. We are looking forward to visiting again!!

When you are out exploring a new area, the perfect way to end each day is in a cozy, relaxing secluded cabin in the woods, and this is just what Destie and George provide at The Little River Retreat. Their cabin, with its wide, inviting front porch with a sunrise view of mist over the pond, is just the place for morning coffee. They have thought of everything in terms of stocking the cabin, including rainy day and evening entertainment for all ages. I definitely overpacked as so much was provided by them! It is so nice to go to a place where you can take a step back from daily life and it's stresses, and just relax. Thank you for 6 wonderful days.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at this charming camp on Webb Lake, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The serene setting was perfect for enjoying the outdoors together. We spent our time fishing on the beautiful lake, where we caught a handful of fish. Kayaking was a highlight as well; the combination of being on the lake, mountain views and beautiful weather was simply magical. The camp itself was cozy and well-equipped, providing a wonderful weekend getaway. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway filled with outdoor fall activities, this is the place to be. we were looking for a peaceful, well equipped cabin, and were completely happy with this clean, comfortable cabin. We stayed 10 nights and drove to the coast several times, but were also happy to stay in, with a good book and an up close view of the river. Theresa was very friendly and responded quickly to questions. I recommend staying here to anyone looking for a peaceful and very relaxing getaway.
