Stone Cottage in Grounds of a 16th-Century Castle

The cottage sits on the grounds of a castle dating back to 1543 offering an authentic stay. The interior retains a decor that matches the historic charm of the area with modern comforts added and a shared pool in the stunning gardens outside. This is our smallest cottage and cannot take an additional bed or cot. The other cottages are all larger and can do this. All 3 cottages can be rented separately or together. They are in the grounds of a 16th century castle with beautiful gardens and large swimming pool enclosed by stone walls. The lower salon and summer kitchen in the main chateau is available to share. Access is by the side garden gate and all cottages are accessed by stone steps- sadly not suitable for wheelchairs. We will most likely be present living in the main Chateau and available to help and advise about restaurants and things to do in the area. We will share the pool and gardens. The old village is in a beautiful part of France that is has retained its iconic beauty through the centuries and still feels untouched by modern life in many places. Experience true local dining and bakeries with scenic walking trails all around. parking is in the church square below the Chateau. There is a local taxi service in the village and bus service to Avignon, Banyols sur Ceze and Uzes but car hire is recommended. We are 20 minutes from Avignon TGV rail station and about an hour from Marseille, Nimes or Montpellier airports. The cottages are completely private and tranquil.

Its large shaded dining terrace, boulodrome and parking area with ev charging make it the perfect holiday haven.

Domaine de Bagard - Gîte Figuier 55m² 4/8 pers

Le Domaine de Bagard est l'héritage d'un ancien hameau du village médiéval de Sauve. Il est devenu ensuite une magnanerie (élevage de ver à soie). Il s'étend sur 11 hectares, à flanc d'une colline de garrigue, typique du piémont cévenol. Au milieu du Domaine coule une source naturelle (véritable résurgence de type vauclusienne) et en contre bas le fleuve Vidourle. Dans cet écrin de vieilles pierres et de nature, 22 gîtes authentiques et parfois très pittoresques n'attendent que vous.

This farmhouse from 1610, 1 minute away from Sommières by car. You will be in a peaceful setting with no street noise and a 9x4m pool to cool yourself on hot summer days. The garden goes down to the river where one can go fishing. From certain spots you can see the Chapelle Saint Julien from the XIth century as well as the château de Sommières. There is a brasero and a pizza oven outside to enjoy time together outside.
