Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt im butterfly Nest. Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön mit einem atemberaubenden Ausblick. Sandy und ihre Angestellten kümmern sich sehr gut um ihre Gäste. Wir haben viele tolle Empfehlungen für Ausflüge bekommen und sie hat sind bei der Organisation von Trips und Fahrten geholfen. Wir würden die Unterkunft jedem empfehlen! 😊

This was a magical stay for us. The host was amazing and went above and beyond for us. He greeted us at the station and took us to his place. The room was spacious for our family of three. He walked us to show us how to get to town easily which is only a few minutes. Breakfast on the balcony was awesome. Typical Sri Lanka breakfast. Then, we needed transportation to yala and he drove us there and stopped at multiple places. He is a lovely human being with great stories of growing up in Ella. His love for a sustainable and eco friendly hotel is admirable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and feel blessed for this experience. Thank you!

Un endroit magnifique avec une vue à couper le souffle au milieu des montagnes, tout en étant très près du centre d’Ella et ses nombreux restaurants. Je vous recommande fortement cet endroit!

Nice place to stay in Ella but no view which is a minus in this area. We were happy with the stay, the breakfasts offered and the help the owner offered in every matter :)

Wir waren rundum zufrieden mit der Unterkunft. Die Aussicht auf dem Balkon ist wundervoll, vorallen sollte man sich abends Zeit nehmen und in den Sternenhimmel schauen! Die Kommunikation mit der Freundin von Dominic war sehr toll: hilfsbereit, freundlich und immer erreichbar. Wir haben hier einen Geburtstag gefeiert und bei der Vorbereitung einer kleinen Überraschung, war das gesamte Team stets zur Stelle und haben mich in jedem Wunsch unterstützt, nochmals vielen lieben Dank! Wer eine ruhige Unterkunft, etwas abseits des Stadtgetümmels sucht und auf eine tolle Aussicht aus ist, dem kann ich diese Unterkunft sehr empfehlen. Ein klitzekleiner Hacken ist die Dusche, da gibt es ein extra Anschluss für das Warmwasser und man kann nicht immer optimal die gewünschte Temperatur einstellen, aber für uns war das klein Problem. Wir waren rund um glücklich.

Absolutely loved our 2-night stay at Villa Joy! We're a Dutch couple and from the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The scenic tuktuk ride through tea fields (booked via Villa Joy) was bumpy at the end, but totally worth it — the mountain views are breathtaking. Waking up to birdsong and coffee on the terrace felt magical. The cooking class with Sakura and her warm team was a true highlight — fun, hands-on, and super tasty! The room was clean, peaceful, and beautifully decorated with flowers. Excellent communication before and during our stay made everything easy. We left feeling recharged and cared for. Highly recommend this little slice of paradise!

Wow! We absolutely loved our stay here. The breakfast (included) was delicious and filling. The view is beautiful, the bed super comfy and cosy, the room was lovely and cool and the surroundings/area was so peaceful and beautiful. We ended up extending our stay! Super walkable into the town too, with loads of cafes and restaurants nearby. Lovely hosts & beautiful place, can’t recommend enough, would definitely book again.

Our stay at the Treehouse in Ella was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The place is made entirely of wood and gives you that authentic treehouse feel - it’s cozy, rustic, and perfect if you’re looking for something unique. It’s about a 7-minute ride to the main happening spots in Ella, and the hosts can easily arrange tuk-tuks for you. The views from the treehouse are absolutely magical, especially when the mist rolls in and covers the mountain tops. You can even spot the train passing by in the distance, which adds to the charm. That said, there were a few things that could be improved. The bathroom didn’t have a jet spray and the door couldn’t be locked, which was a bit inconvenient. There were also no curtains on the front glass door, which compromised a bit on privacy. Still, the charm and uniqueness of this place made it worth it - it felt like a peaceful escape surrounded by nature. Definitely a stay to remember!
